Yet it almost won the war. The main thing was that it always assumed the French would counterattack. Since Papa Joffre was such a total jackass he always ordered the French to "Attack! Attack to the utmost!", the instant a German advance stalled, they dug in for a counterattack. As a result, the damn French always counterattacked into heavy German defensive gunfire and fully prepared defensive fortifications. Attacking even hasty fortifications is always costly. Attacking ones laid and prepared knowing you were going to be dumb enough to run headlong into them is just plain stupid.

Had Woodrow Wilson been smart enough to stay out of the fucking war, Germany would have fought England and France to an armistice by the end of 1917 or midway through 1918 at the latest. The English were already in negotiations. But that jackass thought he was some kind of brilliant statesman, so he tossed a bunch of Americans into the conflict, lost his ass at the negotiating table, and Germany got blamed for a war France and England started.

Guess what Hitler used to fire up the National Socialist German Workers' party? The crushing national debt imposed on Germany to pay for a war they didn't start. Worst of all, it let Stalin play in Russia totally on his own, where he killed about 25 million people from 1929 to 1943. (And at least another 100 million before his death. Some estimates claim the Soviet Union slaughtered as many as 380 million people from the Bolshevik Revolution to Glasnost. They're still finding mass graves.)

Give it up for Woodrow Wilson, everyone! The worst president in American history and the one with the biggest death count, thanks to the somewhere between 350-400 million killed by socialism and its retarded big brother communism all because one man had a head too big to fit through a barn door.
