They make different ones, like flavored ones or ones that dissolve completely so you can't tell a taste or texture difference, but those usually have extra calories for the same amount of fiber.

This is the one I get: https://www.amazon.com/Yerba-Prima-Psyllium-Powder-Ounce/dp/B00012NG1W

It definitely makes the water thicker and it has kind of a nutty flavor to it, but I kind of like that. I'll usually drink it slowly over about 30 minutes in the evening. You really do need to make sure you drink alot of water with it though as the water makes the fiber swell, and it can be a choking hazard if you don't drink at least 8oz of water with it. Like I said, I usually mix it into at least 0.5L.

Flaxseed meal has a lot of fiber. You can put it in cottage cheese, or you can make One Minute Muffins, and do lots of other things with it. Even making a sort of porridge with it.

One of my go-to things is this. I will either put it in my occasional protein shakes or make a pancake with it. Recipe is super duper easy. Mix one egg and one rounded tsp of the stuff. Done. I'll multiply that by 3 and make a big pancake.

Good luck pooing!

pooping is one of the most discussed topics on here. Most people will tell you to make sure you're drinking enough water, use a magnesium supplement, and try some psyllium husk powder (I use Yerba Prima) to boost your fiber intake without uping your Net Carbs. Hope you get it figured out, I know how miserable this problem can make things!

1Tbsp psyllium husk powder in an isopure protein shake. Or 2Tbsp chia seeds, in chicken bouillon or make a chia seed pudding. Chia seeds are higher calorie, but tastier than psyllium.

Hey there, we have very similar ages, weights, and bowel problems! I am still trying to figure out some of my issues, but my main triggers are caffeine, alcohol, fried foods, and STRESS. I also get terrible stomach aches from higher fat foods like avocados and nut butters. Even when I avoid these completely I still have some problems. I have been dealing with this for a while and like with you, doctors have not been helpful.

Have you ever tried taking psyllium every day? I use this one: http://www.amazon.com/Yerba-Prima-Psyllium-Powder-Ounce/dp/B00012NG1W

I mix a heaping tablespoon with a full glass of water after dinner every night. It helps clean out the colon and "bulk up" poo so you are more regular and have less diarrhea. It makes going to the bathroom so much easier for me. I still have problems sometimes, but it's nice to only have diarrhea twice per week rather than 10 times. I've read a lot about psyllium online; most people rave about it but some people say it can make things like bloating and diarrhea worse.
