If it's just a stop gap until you go PoE or whatever your future plans are, I have an unconventional and cheap temporary solution.
I could not find a doorbell that fit your criteria when I started my search a year ago. At least not until I win the lottery.

It uses a microSD card to store the video locally on the camera. They have an optional cloud service that I haven't tried. I get about a month of motion triggered video on a 32GB card. The alerts work to let me know when someone is at my door. The two way audio isn't amazing, but it's good enough.
I've had two of their indoor cameras for a year before getting the outdoor one. Never had any issues with any of them.
They basically take the Nest hardware, add a SD slot, and subtract half to 3/4 the price.
I will say that my brother has a Ring Doorbell 2. The Yi cam has better video quality, comporable sound quality, more reliable alerts, cost less, and doesn't need a subscription. Only downside is that it it needs power instead of running on existing wiring.
Yi Outdoor camera for $120 from Amazon. It's 1080p and records to micro SD card. Notifies you when it senses movement, and doesn't require a paid subscription. You can sign up for a subscription, but it works totally fine without it. I installed it overlooking the driveway, and tucked the power cable to the edge of the garage door. The facade of my garage is all thick ass brick, and I'm not about to try to drill through it. The cable is only about 10 feet long, but you can extend it with a USB extender, which is what I had to do to reach the power outlet inside the garage. Good price, has night vision and two-way voice. Bought one a few months ago after someone here recommended them and I'm very happy with it.
These are not IP rated so not waterproof in case of rain. You can set them up beside windows from inside.

Yi is a brand working under Xiaomi.
If you don't want to spend a lot, these Yi cameras are an amazing value and work really well. No cloud subscription is required (though it is an a available option), data can be stored locally on an SD card, and live and past footage can be pulled up at any time from the app. I have setup many of these over the past 2 years. Essentially a Nest Cam at 1/6 the cost. I continue to be pleasantly surprised by how well they work.
They also make an outdoor version that I have been meaning to try as well.
