I ran through both my pregnancies. For frame of reference: With the first, I stopped marathon training after 14 weeks (due to posterior hip and sacral pain during/after long runs) and stopped completely after 22 weeks. With my second I ran 3 miles, ~3x a week until 30 weeks.

I utilized Heart Rate training prior to getting pregnant, so after I got my BFPs I made sure I always ran at an easy-moderate heart rate - for me this was 145-155bpm, but if you don't know your HR zones or don't have a monitor, you can use the "talk test" to make sure you're not running too hard. If you can sing or say the pledge while you run, you're good. You can take walk breaks to bring your heart rate down if necessary - by 24 weeks I was walking .1 miles of each mile.

If it's hot, consider running on a treadmill or indoor track if possible. Heat and humidity do not mix with pregnancy, and your fetus cannot regulate it's body temperature - baby relies on you to do that.

Your pace will slow as your pregnancy progresses, and that's okay. Let it. Listen to your body after each run and don't force yourself to complete your half marathon if it's not working for you. I supplemented running with a lot of cycling and swimming because those activities are much easier on joints and ligaments (and can actually help your run fitness too!).

For running clothes, I honestly just kept running in what I was wearing before so I have no advice there. My tanks stretched enough to cover my belly even at 30 weeks, and the waistband on my shorts/winter leggings stretched enough to fit. I did invest in a belly band for some additional support. I used this one which I don't think they sell anymore :( It did not help me with the hip pain I had with my first, but it helped with ligament/abdominal strain with my second.

Hopefully this helps!! I was really proud of being able to run into my third trimester with my second, so if you have any questions just ask. I'm an open book about everything pregnancy related :P

I was going to suggest this... though it may only take the edge off. I use this acupressure mat and pillow set for chronic nerve pain in my back and neck. I feel like it distracts my sense of pain in that makes any sense?

I do gua sha facial massage with these fantastic jade tools - I put on my usual grapeseed/rosehip/neem blend and then gently scrape following this basic routine. I can definitely feel a difference the next morning when I don't do it; my sinuses feel fuller and my eyes feel puffy.

I love those little guys. They feel so good.

It's called an acupressure ring. They also make bracelets.
Here's the amazon link to both Ring and Bracelet.

If you're just interested in the ring size, you'll find loads of colors available.

The bracelet is nice for forearm massage.

Are you referring to an acupressure mat? I’ve looked at those before as well and I question how effective they would be given they’re not getting very deep pressure-wise.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Prosource-Acupressure-Pillow-Relief-Relaxation/dp/B07PZHBXZP

My girlfriend got me a month of online coaching with Jon Yuen! I couldn't think of a better gift :)

Some books I've been looking to get are:

  • Brain's Way of Healing & The Brain that Changes Itself both by Norman Doidge
  • Supertraining by Mel Siff
  • The First and Last Freedom by Krishnamurti
  • The Potent Self & The Case of Nora both by Feldenkrais

I feel like I have enough toys (resistance bands & gymnastic rings) to carry around with me but something I am considering getting for my girlfriend is this Nayoya Accupressure Mat

>After I am sufficiently warmed up it tends to either go away, or I don't notice it anymore.

DEFINITELY not a stress fracture. Those don't "go away" after warming up, they get worse.

That sounds like a pulley/sleeve issue. Its very common, and easy to manage. try ice/heat, easy warmups, and these

No joke though, those rings are magic.

Climb EASY for a couple weeks while you heal. No hard crimps, weird slopers, or campus board workouts. If it hurts, back off.

I just got these here:

It's a pack of 10 for only $5.67 shipped. It took 2.5/3 weeks to come from China, but I didn't mind waiting for the price.

Yep! I have this one and swear by it.

u/South_in_AZ · 2 pointsr/BDSMcommunity

They seem to be more small focused massagers type of e-stim.

u/dijital101 · 2 pointsr/Whatisthis

Ah, nevermind I was wrong. It's for acupuncture/electrotherapy. It's supposed to have a control base that it plugs into. Here's a portable version. https://www.amazon.com/Techno-Zone-Acupuncture-Massage-Function/dp/B07FJN4C1B

These are great. Not super sharp by you definitely feel it's there, I like to roll them up and down my finger when I need a more aggressive/painful stim.

I’ve always struggled with this as well. I quit biting my nails a long time ago. I don’t remember how, but I ended up biting the skin around my nails instead. That, or simply picking at my nails or putting them in my mouth. It started driving me crazy because they’d always end up breaking.

Give these a try.

They’ve helped me to stop messing with my nails so much that they break, and they could help you too. I’d say it’s worth a shot, since they’re not expensive at all.

I got mine on Amazon here. Shipping was slow, but they arrived in fine condition, quality was just as expected. I tried one at my therapist's office and really liked the concept. It's fairly discreet, but functions as a great distraction.

Try one of those mats

The lil acupressure ones

They hurt, but they help

Well, I've got fibromyalgia, PCOS, and chronic fatigue as far as I know. My doctors think that my facial pain and joint issues are caused by something else (not sure what yet) and want to test me for endo as well. In regards to mental health, MDD, GAD, and panic disorder. So I've got a lot of people through the years telling me what will make me better.

I have this acupressure mat. It only has spikes as opposed to needles, since it's for at home use and needles would be dangerous, but I find it to be very helpful for my back and shoulder pain. It also makes me sleepy so I sometimes use it before bed, but I don't recommend falling asleep on it if you're prone to moving around in your sleep ;) You just lay down on it when your need to relieve the pain, for about 20-30 minutes. When I first started out using it, I had to have a thin cloth between my back and the mat, but after a while I got used to it, and it's really the most beneficial when I'm topless.

Since I know you suffer from lots of pain, especially in your back, I've found This acupuncture mat. It had the highest rating and great reviews. I worked in the hotel business for over 12 years so I know how hard it can become from being on your feet. I wish you lots of luck and I'm sure this is the blessing you've been waiting for.

I could use This toilet paper caddy for my bathroom as there's no tp holder and it drives me nuts searching for tp every time I gotta pee!!! Haha tmi?

It sounds like you're experiencing some soreness from strain and stiffness from overuse. This was common for me when I was getting started. The first thing you should do, is to listen to your body: if you're hurting, don't over exert yourself or you will be more prone to injury.

If it is a simple issue of strain/over use, I've found one of the best things to do is massage the fingers. Use the tips of all five fingers on one hand to massage each finger on the other hand. Make a ring with your five finger tips and slide up and down each finger on the other hand. repeat on both sides. Alternatively, use acupressure rings. I use these whenever my fingers are stiff; the stiffness recedes almost immediately.

If the injury is more serious, disregard this advice; seek medical attention and consider your options for rehabilitation and preventing re-injury.

It has been a three-pronged attack over here:

  1. Hydrocolloid bandages like spot dots.

  2. Keeping my nails short (so I have a harder time grabbing onto the poor skin that’s just trying to heal

  3. Fidget rings! These are different from spinners. You can get a 10-pack of them from amazon (link below!). I love them because they are just a little bit uncomfortable when you roll them up and down your fingers (they are intended for acupressure) so it mimics the same weirdly satisfying sensation that picking does.

Does it work?

I checked out Rhinoskin's shop, just FYI, don't buy their 'finger massage ring' for $10/5, they're 1/2 the price on amazon.

There are two components to the problem. The first is to change the habit of tensing those muscles. This is pretty tough but you just need to be conscious of any time you are tensing your abdominal muscles. Practice diaphragmatic breathing all the time. Aim for 1-2 minutes of focused breathing each hour. The second part is loosening the chronically tightened tissue. There are many PT tools that can be used to help loosen up the tissue. This is the thing that my PT recommended that I use, and it really works. Basically you use the cup to create suction, then slide it around your skin and it achieves the same effect as the PT using skin-rolling and other massage techniques. It's a cheap but effective tool. Additionally, you could try some 2-4 inch massage balls (they come in spiked and non-spiked) to help roll out the tissue. Besides those things, you can try pulling on your belly button (yep). If you're ever bored and sitting at home, feel free to start pulling on your belly button in different directions to try to free up the surrounding tissue. Pull until you feel some tension and then hold for 30 seconds. Hope this helps!

So this is kind of weird, but I inadvertently found that those silicone cups for cellulite really help my muscles a ton! It feels really good on my quads and knees. https://www.amazon.com/Anti-Cellulite-Cup-Removel-Silicone/dp/B0723G8JSM/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=cellucup&qid=1562808834&s=gateway&sr=8-4

I really enjoy my rose quartz tools. The little mushroom shaped one is fantastic thumb-replacement-- it's even sold separately and would be the thing to get imo. The rest are thick and sturdy enough to use in a variety of ways. They're lovely when heated. I use the mushroom and the rounded v-shaped one the most in daily work; they really don't need much more than the weight of my hand to be effective.

u/millzzyyy · 1 pointr/climbing

i have that on my right middle finger initially, and eventually it spread to left middle, right ring, left ring, and now also left index (but still mild). i also did what you did, i find that trying to extend the finger fully helps it heal a little quicker. while extending i also massage the point with my opposite thumb (left thumb -> right middle). few months ago i tried these, and it seems to help a little too.

Sorry for the slow response. I have a prosource. I ordered it on Amazon. Back pain I have is related to herniated disk in the lower back. Idk what sections. I could call my doctor and ask. I used it on my bed with no shirt on. I would lay on it from anywhere to 15 mins up hours(after falling asleep in it) But in all seriousness aside from kratom and some stretches this thing works wonders for me. May not be for everyone. But I swear if you can get past the first 5 mins and stay still whoaaa. It was like all the tension I had in my back eased and I would get sleepy just from not being tense. My girlfriend loved the little pillow it came with. She would rest her feet on it after working long shifts on her feet. She said it helped her feet not be so sore the following day.
