We’ve recently really gotten into caning and have been having issues with how to pack for play parties. I finally ordered a telescoping poster tube today!

We’re still looking for a classy bag for the rest of the toys.

Besides setlist.fm, you can always go to a specialized Avett Brothers database called dB.nov.blue that will track all your concerts. You can search based on performances/songs/album/etc and you can likely determine what they might play next. It’s pretty fascinating actually.

I’ve seen them 5 times already and each time it’s been a different experience, always an excellent time. Just enjoy the first concert and prepared to be surprised. If you want to get a poster you should purchase it before the concert starts, for there is usually a limit of 200. I always bring a poster tube for that reason, and if you want, you can roll a couple of shirts in it as well.

I already put this up there for OP. But I still wanted to point out that this tube has amazing features and only costs $15.99! Even if it is only used this year, it is still a good value.

Congrats on snagging some VIP tickets. I haven’t done a Primus VIP yet - but have them for the Columbus show. I’ve done a few CID events in the past though and usually you’ll get an email anywhere from 3-7 days before the show with instructions. For meet and greets they’ll ask you to show up 2-2.5 hours before show time and give you a location to meet - usually at the front of the venue.

For straight up early admission you’ll usually get in an hour before everyone else but since there is a Q&A you may get in earlier.

Tubes are up to the band/merch people. I’ve gotten posters at my last 4 Primus shows and there have always been tubes but I’ve been to shows for other bands on back to back dates where there have been tubes available at one show and not the next. If you’re worried always bring your own just in case. Most of the time you’ll be able to go out to your car but sometimes you can’t - either the venue won’t allow reentry or your host won’t be available to coax them in to letting you back in. If you’re only worried about the poster you can get a reusable plastic tube with a strap that you’d be able to wear on your back during the show. This is probably the best bet and they’re not too expensive. This one is heavy duty and only 18 bucks on Amazon[1].

Enjoy the show and the VIP. In my experience it’s always been more than worth the price if you love the band.

Plastic Storage tubes or Mailing Tubes. They come in different length and large diameter ones will allow you to roll up more than one together.

You can also make your own rack by purchasing PVC pipes from a home improvement center and cutting them to length. Miter box, clamp and saw and it is easy to cut. You can close off one end simply with some hot glue and foam core then trimming.

You can also make a stack of tubes in a cube shape that you can fit into a Kalax slot or just place on top of the Kalax or even in a closet.

Something like this:

O O O

O O

O O O

Repeat for however many you need.

The PVC pipe can be spray painted to whatever color you want.

You can even make a PVC Tube ladder. Cut to length so that the mat sticks out both ends. Then use Drawstring Cords to tie them together and for the top tube make a loop that you can hang from a wall using a picture hanger.

I use poster/blueprint storage tubes kind of like these. Makes it easier to grab and transport to the range.

Brace yourself.

DM since 1978 here.

For maps and such you need this or something like this

https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Storage-Tube-Blueprints-Expandable/dp/B01DLYJF9I/ref=sr_1_48?keywords=shipping+tubes&qid=1555674263&s=gateway&sr=8-48

Mine is pretty-much water proof but I got mine via a friend who worked at a vinyl sign making shop (he gave me some of the - usually discarded/recycled - lovely rigid threaded end tubes in which they receive rolls of vinyl). For maps and the like, both transport and long term storage, you cannot beat this sort of storage. Alternately, paper mailing tubes can suffice to keep flat things rolled/flat, but nothing beats a waterproof tube.

... next, you need to bring the game, make it easy on yourself, get a few of those 'hanging folder friendly' milk-crate-style storage crates. They will hold our favorite hobby-sized books, and much more. . . a few hanging folders can help you organize your printed campaign materials too. With some good rubber-straps to anchor it on top of this

which can be used to store all your minis and such. With this on hand you can bring the game anywhere.

I have a bag for Starter Set items/dmg/phb, dice, pathfinders mats.
Do you need the boxes? I basically got rid of my starter set box.

For your mat I suggest something similar to a Artist tube . Not sure if that's the correct size, but you get the idea.

I bought them at Hobby Lobby for $25. There is also a black one, if you would rather have that. My local Hobby Lobby has not had the black one in stock.

You can get them on Amazon here, but it will cost more.

You will need to remove the interior elements (they are easily removed), and then you will need these inserts from Broken Token from either Amazon or the Broken Token website.

And in case you are wondering, I've never actually counted how many cards the cases will hold, but I estimate it to be about 5,000 cards if you pack them in tightly.

It is, but I'm not happy with the price and trying to find some that are cheaper.

u/jaybeau1979 · 2 pointsr/killerbunnies

I got one of these wooden boxes to hold all the cards, dice, pawns, etc. Not perfect, but everything fits!

u/Livin_Right · 2 pointsr/Magic

It’s really an art supply box. Got it on Amazon. US Art Supply Artist Wood Pastel, Pen, Marker Storage Box with Drawer(s) (Large Tool Box) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OTZW56Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NXE2AbVMY7HT4

My long blades are displayed throughout the house and there's a couple stuffed in the back room because I have nowhere to put them.

I asked this question a month or two ago and ended up buying this for my EDC knives. It's just a cheap little craft box, but it's a pretty good fit for my kerambits, bailisongs and small folders. I just pulled the dividers off and kept the little foam lining in the bottom.

YMMV of course.

Sorry I'm a burden but this is literally the one I'm going to try to bring in, you're saying these are okay? I'm from MO and pretty much no venues allow any type of poster tube.

the bobbin holder on my WL is $4.99. (If add-on items don't count, anything off my sci-fi book list would be awesome. and I love used books.)

oh yes, and fly away home

There's this one on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/ProArt-Medium-Wooden-Artists-Box/dp/B0012GVDUW) but it's nearly twice what I paid before international shipping.

Here it is on Hobby Lobby's site (http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/wooden-artist-case-125005/); from there hopefully you can find it somewhere.

If you can't find one, PM me and maybe I can ship one to you (no idea how much shipping it would cost though).

If you're looking to/don't mind storing multiple mats in one tube, these Architect document tubes work great.

If you want a different tube for each mat, I would go the monster tube route someone else posted about.

You could always go to Staples or Office Max before the show and buy a poster tube. Or if you have Amazon prime order something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Plastic-Storage-Tube-Blueprints-Expandable/dp/B01DLYJHG4

I clean mine with a wet paper towel. That's it. Works fine.

For storage and travel, I use a carrying tube:

I did something like this for my wife one year. I got this box and 3 or 4 different sets of pens and pencils, plus a few erasers and sharpeners and stuff, to fill it up. Came out to around $100.

Faber-Castell is a good/famous pencil brand.
