The components I've seen were far cheaper than local fabrication, and I've seen enough local jobs that I'd rather build my own.

Here's a whole Banks kit for less than that from the cat back.

Dynomax for a fraction.

I always ran a bit hot too, and although its not "bad" I was still bothered by it. Installed this cold air intake (20 minute job no joke):
