(Deep water bath gadget) You're welcome.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my sister early on, and it's so very hard to be pregnant and grieving. For the first week or so, everything will taste like ashes. Try to eat some crackers, broth, chicken noodle soup, pretzel sticks, things like that. Keep it bland and easy to digest. Drink some Powerade or Pedialyte, too. Babies are resilient, and your body will keep what it needs.

I felt a lot of guilt about grieving during pregnancy because I didn't want my baby to feel the stress and depression. I had to give myself permission to feel what I felt, though, because keeping it in only made it worse. Keep in mind that people post silly "today I cried because..." things all the time. You have a legitimate reason to cry. If other people are crying because their partner ate the last Reese's cup, you can cry because you lost your mother. I roll my eyes at all of those posts, but they help me to remember that no one goes through pregnancy feeling all sunny and cheery 100% of the time.

Take baths. I've never been a bath person, but I started taking them when someone sent me a lavender bath thing and reminded me to take care of myself. It makes a world of difference to soak for a while. I usually talk to the baby when I'm in the bath, too. I got a Deep Water Bath thing, and it makes them really nice. It's a good way to chill as much as you can.

In a week or two, contact your local Hospice program to see if they have grief counselors. Hospice programs usually offer free bereavement counseling, regardless of if your mother was in hospice or not. My grief counselor is also a general counselor, so if I need help with postpartum depression, I have someone that I already have a good relationship with.

Go on walks once you're up to it. Make it a point to go outside every day.

Once you get through this week, start a journal, and write down some joyful memories you have with your mother. Write about your sorrow, anger, and anything else that comes up, too. Write a letter to your baby, telling her some of your mother's best traits. I don't know if you're a Christian or not, but if you are, the GriefShare program really helped me come to terms with my grief and find joy again. Hospice programs also offer secular grief support groups.

I think of this time as Mary's (my sister's) time with the baby. She and the baby are hanging out in the before- and after- life. Mary's teaching the baby how to manipulate me to get her way, making her horse crazy, and teaching her all sorts of silly and sweet things. I'd rather have Mary here, but I know that my baby will have a heck of a guardian angel, and so will yours.

I'm so very sorry you're going through this. If you don't mind a fellow bumper/griever PM-ing you, I'm going to get back in touch with you in a couple of weeks to send you a care package.

I'm sending you and your family love, thoughts, and prayers.

One of the best products I've ever purchased. It covers the overflow drain.

u/mharris1x · 4 pointsr/LushCosmetics

For the drain, this is a flat-type grate then? Those are typical where I live (San Francisco). We use silicon drain stoppers for those.
https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Silicone-Drain-Stopper-Aqua/dp/B0038JE650/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_201_bs_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=PT8KQBA5XHXHW0A7WEEH&th=1

Then for the "overflow drain" that a lot of tubs have, we use deep water bath gadget (also silicone)

Total investment: about $15

:D YAY!!!!! GIFTING IS FUN! Thanks for this!

I keep entering this as my prize in raffle contests so it's now become a personal vendetta. Oh this would be good for the kitchen because I melted my other one in the dishwasher. This froggy mitt is just super cute. :D

u/jessicat7474 · 3 pointsr/breastcancer

A drain pouch , Detachable shower head, bendy straws because lifting cups are hard. I found paper cups and plates helpful so I didn’t have to wash dishes. Get a seat belt cover for the car, that made a difference for me. Some people said a chair for the bathtub but that seemed like overkill to me. Oh-and this pillow has been amazing even now during reconstruction Bean pillow . They have that on amazon too. This website was particularly helpful for me-shopping list

u/kittenzaremittenz · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

My baths normally last a minimum of one hour, max is normally two. This product prevents the water level from dropping. I usually set my laptop up on the toilet seat and watch something on Netflix. I can really feel my muscles loosening up about an hour or so later and it really helps me fall asleep.

To prove that I am not a part of some large bath advocacy group I shall share cons to baths. Washing your hair in the bath is very difficult and you either have to deal with a sub-par hair wash or shower after. Sometimes I get headaches after a hot bath from, I'm assuming, of dehydration. It also makes my face red af.

u/pixelationnation · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Don't be! It's kind of a niche item honestly.

It's this!

u/nijoli · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I am dying for a deeper bath. This gadget will allow me to have a deep bath even in my tiny tub by bypassing the water-leveling-overflow-prevention thingie.

I promise not to drown. This would make my baths SO much better.

u/YesImTrans · 2 pointsr/BadDragon

I wonder if these would work... abcGoodefg® 10 PCs Double Magic Plastic Sucker, Super Strong Double Side Suction Cup Holder, Anti-Slip Holder Sucker for Phone&Bathroom Accessories. (10 PCs Random Shape) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018FX3GR2/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_iBuGxb70CRMCQ

u/seamonkee · 2 pointsr/trees

If you don't have a side drain plug, you must acquire. You can't play alligator in a shallow bath.

u/Jax410 · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

How about something like this, a really nice robe & slippers, jets, or one of these to make the bath deeper.

I know some elderly people who use those suction bars instead of having grab bars installed and they seem to work pretty well, but I would recommend checking the weight restrictions (I mostly know little old ladies who use them) and ensure that you have a good seal on a smooth solid surface before using.

WELCOME TO RAOA!

Tell me something interesting about you!

And I'll tell you something interesting about you, too! Did you know that, with the help of your cat, you singly convinced Benedict Cumberbatch to accept your hand in marriage? The ceremony was lovely, his beautiful eyes complimented your red hair wonderfully.

Edit - item. I can't even tell you how badly I need this shower curtain, girl. Thanks for the contest, and welcome again <3

u/atouchofyou · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Either these cat treats or this bath thing, both on the $5ish list.

u/creativexangst · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Holy smokes Batman!

I need this for my bath obsession!!

u/starzphalling · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This is the one i have, its got a hole at the top that i would hope would prevent an accidental overflow, though i've never tested it out. i live in an apartment, so unscrewing anything is not something i'm comfortable with.

u/sabreteeth · 1 pointr/AskWomen

Yes! Here are some things I use to step up my bath game:

  • Deep Bath DrainCover - Covers up the overflow valve, so you can have bathwater that covers your knees and your boobs

  • Epsom salts, obvs

  • Bath bombs - I don't have a Lush nearby, so I make my own out of citric acid, baking soda, coconut oil, and essential oils.

  • This light - Candles are nice and all, but this makes the bathroom look like an ocean galaxy laser show and it's very relaxing.

  • Beer, obvs

I could use another one today. Life upsets me and my skin is dry as hell. What should I do, Donna?

Few ideas:

  • colourful bathbomb like blue or pink that turns the water a different color. bubbles are fun too but that’s just an idea for an alternative
  • even for solo baths, I can’t recommend an overflow drain cover hard enough. I cannot have a bath without one now, just way more relaxing with more water. Though if you do this for your sexy bath, definitely have some towels around the tub in case all that extra water spills over when you get moving
  • candles of course. as many as possible without causing a fire hazard =P personally I put them on the counter and away from the bath itself so I don’t knock them over or get burnt accidentally
  • music. make a playlist for whatever mood you want and set it on low on repeat. Doesn’t have to be a big focus like “hey I made this sexy playlist for us” just in the background so it’s not completely silent. Though the quiet is really romantic too sometimes if the rest of your house is quiet. Just hearing the water sounds
  • maybe a space heater if you have one and it’s not too obnoxious. I end up taking long baths and the water cools off too quickly if I don’t have a heater
  • glasses of chilled champagne, wine, sparkling water, or whatever your preference. It’s romantic but also a lifesaver for a long hot bath
  • I don’t know if this one is just me being weird and specific, but,,, a wash cloth? Lol I don’t know, personally I find it sexier washing my partner down with a washcloth and soap rather than a loofah. more intimate. Or hell, just go for soap and bare hands xD
  • fresh fluffy towels and robes or comfy clothes to jump into afterwards if you decide to get dressed =P

If it has a flat base, these are awesome. I use it on a tantus general, which is pretty weighty

u/secretWolfMan · 1 pointr/NoStupidQuestions

How much do you want it stopped?

You can just take the cover off and shove a rubber cork/plug in there.

You can cover the hole with "Flex Tape"

Try this thing https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001YJIGW

What are your thoughts on combining burgundy towels with bamboo accents?

u/dreamgalaxies · 1 pointr/LushCosmetics

it's easier to just use one of these!

Yay house!! We're still renting, but we just moved into a mobile home from living in a tiny little townhouse in March. The space increase is like... whoa. It's a whole different world not sharing walls with anyone, so congratulations! Yaaaay assets!

So, I'm actually going to list a few a lot, because I love decorating and it gives me an excuse to play house AND randomly browse Amazon! I played a lot of Sims just for the decorating part as a kid.

Also I get to play around with that Amazon Scout style explorer thing now, yippie! These are not all things that I want or have, obviously, I'm just killing time on Amazon.

I bought this one this summer! It's totally ugly as like OP says but as long as I get those extra soaking inches, I don't give a damn

Did not submit wishlist to ISFJ Mom-Santa early enough. Was informed that gifts for me were purchased a while ago, and it is too late... :)

Things that I really enjoy having that I would have enjoyed receiving as a gift, though (even if I got them for myself....):

  • Bath overflow cover: If you're buying for someone who likes baths. Because baths are warm and awesome -- especially living in the relatively chilly midwest USA.

  • Some kind of black light: Worked well as a gift when I was younger -- it would depend on the individual if they are older. It made for a long series of fun, "does this glow?" experiments -- and even now, I'll still sometimes trot it out to see if it glows.

  • More expensive, but a device that gives you information on yourself -- such as sleep quality, activity level, etc. Don't have one myself, but would want want. The more independent it is from me doing stuff to it, the better. For instance, if it can actually detect when I am sleeping, that would be really cool -- even if it is sometimes a little off!

I can't think of many other things that aren't even specific to what I like. I'm definitely trending after my (I think ENTP) Dad in the, "hard to shop for; if wanted a thing badly enough, probably got it for self a while ago instead of waiting arbitrarily for Christmas in order to tell someone to get it/hope someone gets it."

If you want to cheat and/or take frequent baths, this little bugger is my best friend (I would live in the bathtub if I could). https://smile.amazon.com/Better-Bath-Deep-Water/dp/B0001YJIGW?sa-no-redirect=1
