The Review Meta extension says that product has a lot of fake reviews. I see a lot of upvotes, can anyone else vouch for either this pillow or the sweethome being trustworthy? I don't want to accuse OP of being a shill, but I've been getting more and more wary of this kind of thing.

I got an amazing 12 inch one from Amazon!

Edit: it's this one

I also got this pillow and it's absolutely perfect.

I bought two Xtreme Comfort pillows in 2017 and they are stupid comfortable and still fluffy to this day. Only $55 - well worth it!

u/Haaa_penis · 13 pointsr/politics

The worst pillow ever. That being said, if you are looking for an incredible pillow that can help to solve your neck pain, try the below:

Mediflow Original Waterbase Pillow

It's like sleeping on a cloud, and the firmness can be adjusted by filling in less/more water. The pillow is much cheaper in Europe though, I bought a twin pack for around $35, so it might be a good idea to shop around stop

u/darute · 8 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I have a latex pillow that is wonderful. It's a Z by Malouf. I got it for $50 so I'm sure you can find something cheaper than amazon if you shop around. In the end, just buy what is most comfortable for you.

u/adaml223 · 8 pointsr/minimalism

I sleep on a shikibuton. I bought it about 6 months ago after becoming interested in Japanese futons. Because I didn't want to break the bank to purchase an authentic one, I settled for this one.

I fold it up every morning, fold my blanket, and set it and my buckwheat pillow on top of it and set it away in my room.

Before this I was using an old mattress that was in the spare room of my grandma's where I live. Being that my grandma isn't too interested in the idea of minimalism, my room becomes a very calming place for me when I head up to bed at night.

EDIT:
Just thought of this after I posted. I wish I would've realized the idea of minimalism before I moved out of my apartment. I was already on the side of have fewer possessions than most people, but I hadn't gotten to the point were I realized it and was able to fine tune it. I was basically a minimalist that didn't know it and therefore didn't put much thought into it.

About 18 months ago I got one of these bamboo pillows , and at the risk of sounding like a commercial, it took my chronic nighttime neck pain away. I had tried so many pillows over the years and they didn’t help. I saw someone on here mention it and I was skeptical but it worked. Didn’t improve my migraines, but I slept a lot better. Whoever you are that recommended it- thank you!

u/fuckchalzone · 7 pointsr/Wetshaving

I bought this one about a year ago:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V909F1K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_wji.zbY80TAGC

It is really nice. Came recommended by Wirecutter. The filing is shredded memory foam. It is pretty firm though. Which I like and gives good support, but if you are used to really soft pillows it might seem weird.

It does tend to get compressed though, so you need to fluff it fairly often.

One great thing about it is that the whole pillow is machine washable.

u/woodbuck · 7 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Xtreme Comforts Shredded Memory Foam Pillow

I used to always sleep with two regular pillows, but just one of these has been perfect every night. Stays pretty cool and is extremely comfortable. Its softer than straight memory foam but still has a lot of support.

I found it on Wirecutter so see their review for more in depth: https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-bed-pillows/

u/Kilo_Juliett · 6 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I have a latex pillow that I’ve had for, I don’t know, 6 years maybe and it’s held up perfectly fine.

Z 100% Natural Talalay Latex Zoned Pillow - Queen - High Loft, Plush https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00382XCL6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_mY3cAbJT86942

They make 4 different styles. High loft plush, high loft firm, low loft plush, and low loft firm.

For a side sleeper you want a high loft.

They also make them in king sizes.

> Buckwheat hull pillows

For those interested in purchasing one

u/DrChiz · 6 pointsr/PKA

I sleep super hot, my head especially so I feel you, I've tried all kinds of pillows and more often than not just find myself disappointed and out a decent amount of cash.

But I did some research and got a buckwheat pillow and I've been pretty happy. https://www.amazon.com/Beans72-Organic-Buckwheat-Pillow-inches/dp/B000F1FL9E/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=buckwheat+pillow+20x30&qid=1563528508&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

Now it's not gonna stay cool forever, but if you flip it over then that side is cool and the warm side will cool off a lot quicker so when you need to flip again/rotate it, you'll be good.

I actually like the feeling of the buckwheat, I don't really like soft pillows so it worked great for me. But it does kind of "conform" to your if they're pretty loose, but it is def firmer than most pillows I'd say. It's heavy though lol so if you're sharing a bed with someone, be careful when flipping it in the middle of the night.

u/KingOCarrotFlowers · 6 pointsr/rawdenim

Also, I bought a new pillow yesterday, and I'm in love with it. I slept really well last night, and I'm giving all of the credit to this awesome pillow. If you sleep on your side or back, consider buying this pillow, because it will change your life.

u/cheeseburger_humper · 4 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I bet that's an amazing pillow.

I use a waterbase pillow to adjust it to my desired thickness. :)

u/terminal_veracity · 4 pointsr/SleepApnea

This is called "aerophagia" (literally "air eating") and I had it too. It can be that the pressure is set too high or too low, but before making pressure changes, maybe try:

u/ChadwickGates · 4 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I recently got this one. The marketing for it says it's good for side and stomach sleepers. I've only had it for a week but it's been fantastic. As an added bonus, it seems to have helped with my mild sleep apnea, too. I have no hard evidence for this, it's only anecdotal, but I seem to be sleeping a lot more soundly and breathing better at night. I have no idea how long the pillow will last so I don't think I can say it's BIFL right now. We'll see how it holds up.

u/suckinonmytitties · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

yeah all my other current pillows are from when I was a kid and they used to be awesome but they lost all their fluffiness and are now like flat pancakes.

this pillow is the one that I just got gifted to me, and it's slightly firm but definitely malleable. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning because of it.

u/mouthie · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You two always look stunning of course. This pillow is something I need for sleeping. It's a cooling pillow and due to the amount of meds I take I get very hot when I sleep, ugh :( so unattractive!!

"Iso-Cool pillow responds to a body's changing temperature by warming or cooling" ... Sounds way too good to be true.

u/ConstantCompile · 3 pointsr/AskReddit

Created an account after months of lurking to post this.

I have had sleep problems for as long as I can remember; without going into the symptoms, diagnoses, etc. in the interest of brevity, these are the steps I have taken to correct it:

Typical good sleep habits (Standard fare, I sometimes break these rules but stick to them whenever possible) -

  • No videogames within an hour of bedtime.
  • Ingest as little sugar as possible within two hours of bedtime.
  • No large meals within three hours of bedtime.
  • No exercise within four hours of bedtime.
  • Once the sun goes down, try to keep all lights as dim as possible without causing discomfort to your eyes; consider turning down the brightness of your monitor a few notches, too.
  • Exercise for at least ten minutes a day, as close to mid-day as possible ((I find a descending set of 10 burpees to be a great workout; it can take less than 15 minutes and is completely exhausting, and any redditor that says they don't have 15 minutes to spare in the day is lying)).
  • Get up at the same time every morning, even weekends.
  • Go to bed at the same time every night, even weekends.
  • Bear in mind, the "sleepy effect" of alcohol wears off in a few hours; this can cause you to wake up in the middle of the night, unable to go back to sleep.

Absolute darkness at bedtime (The end result is as close to pitch black as I can manage) -

  • Tin-foil over bedroom window
  • Alarm clock's display covered
  • All LED indicators in the room covered
  • Night mask for good measure.

Focusing on breathing - Random thoughts can easily keep me awake for several hours at a time, simply because I spend so much time thinking about them that my mind never "shuts off." A personal method that I came up with to combat this (I don't recall reading about it anywhere, it just occurred to me one night) is to concentrate on my breathing with the highest degree of focus possible, in hopes that my mind's resources are so fully devoted to the task that it has nothing left to have random thoughts with. It actually seems to work spectacularly. I am no longer "bored" when trying to go to sleep, because I am actively engaged in a task; sleep seems to occur within minutes.
    TL;DR -

  • Devote your full attention and focus to your breathing and/or how your body feels.
  • If you think about anything, you aren't paying enough attention to your breathing.
  • You shouldn't have to adjust your sleeping position more than once or twice. Discomfort may be a sign that you need a better pillow or mattress. If this isn't an option, try to focus only on your breathing, and ignore the discomfort.

Comfortable mattress/pillow - When I first moved into my current apartment, I had no mattress or pillow; having only had springy hand-me-down mattresses up to this point, I decided to opt for the cheapest memory foam mattress I could find, and was so impressed that I later bought a memory foam pillow as well. $300-$350 overall with free shipping; the claims of the mattress being environmentally-friendly was a deciding factor for me (the free shipping even more so) but if you're unconcerned about that, consider it icing on the cake.

Light therapy - This form of treatment is apparently experimental; I myself have only been using it a few months, but it's been more effective than any of the five sleep medications I've tried. In a nutshell, an extremely bright light (20 times brighter than typical indoor lighting) acts as an artificial sun, prompting a "wake up" response from your body. By causing this response at the same time every day (within an hour of waking up) for a few weeks, your body naturally adjusts your internal clock accordingly.

The Phillips BriteLITE 6 was actually given to me free of charge by my medical provider. After a few months of using it I'm certain it's worth every penny, but I realize dropping $180 on an unproven method that you heard about on the internet probably seems unwise.

Obviously, try the above methods first, or try using natural sunlight if you live in a sunny area. If the above methods don't work, natural sunlight isn't available, or you just hate going outside, do some research on Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorders (DSPS is one of them), Melatonin, etc., and consider it. I could go into more detail about the BriteLITE 6 if you'd like, or make a separate AMA for my experience with Light Therapy (remember, I'm no doctor; this is just something I'm trying, am thoroughly impressed with, and want to spread the word about). Otherwise, good luck to you, sir.

EDIT: Fixed the bullet point formatting, added bold to the different methods.
u/xbrand2 · 3 pointsr/Fibromyalgia

There's only so much you can change with a mattress, unfortunately. This pillow is pretty awesome and helped me out a lot.

The reality is that some of these symptoms won't go away. I'm a 25/M with the same diagnosis, so I can relate. The worst part about this dignosis is you can't cure a lot of the problems, you just have to work on coping mechanisms.

I'll throw my water pillow into the mix. I love this thing.

u/WiredPirate · 2 pointsr/amazone

I love my Iso-Cool pillow.

u/Nocturnx · 2 pointsr/Wetshaving

I have a pillow just like this with the shredded memory foam, it might be this same one. I like it a lot. It was firmer than what I was used to but it's grown on me and maybe it is just what I needed since I haven't woken up with neck pain or a headache since.

Like you said it does get packed down and you have to re-fluff it. I find that just throwing it in the dryer for a quick tumble un-compresses it and makes it fluffy again, I do this maybe once a month.

Edit: I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Snuggle-Pedic-Ultra-Luxury-Combination-Adjustable-Hypoallergenic/dp/B0725349FN/

I see you like Harry Potter. I am a fan of this throw. Or you could get the Marauder's Map! This is also really cool. You need.

I love Harry Potter collectibles. I'm in the process of acquiring all the Horcruxes right now.

If I win I really need a new pillow. It's $1.50 over, so a giftcard towards it would be amazing.

Thank you for the contest and I hope you feel better soon!

Also I just saw you're from Michigan as well! Rad. Are you thinking of going to the meet-up?

u/unusualbread · 2 pointsr/malelivingspace

its a little spendy but the high loft plush version of this pillow is the best I've tried. Really soft but still supports you.

Need it cold? Think it's impossible?

Boom. This thread is done. GET OUT OF MY FACE if you think this isn't the best thing you've ever seen. This 30-something dollar purchase was the best money I've ever spent. Buckwheat is fucking weird, but I sleep like a champion with it.

I'll go on record right now: I won't ever review anything as highly as this pillow as long as I'm a subscriber to this reddit.

I have a water pillow (linked below) that has totally changed my life. I’ve had it for over a year and it works wonders. It was studied at Johns Hopkins and is clinically proven to reduce neck pain.

I’m a severe bruxer and my physiatrist gives me Botox injections to stop the grinding and trigger point injections for neck and back pain. All of this (plus night guards) has helped immensely. I hope you can find some relief!

u/mikeAlOp1 · 2 pointsr/malelivingspace

I like the memory foam personally.

I would strongly suggest a total of four pillows in case you have an ahem overnight guest. Looks nicer when the bed is made too.

u/BentleyCarr · 2 pointsr/migraine

Yes, link indeed missing, here it is: https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Core-Cervical-Pillow-Full-Standard/dp/B000ET9TXQ/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_121_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=4KBG8QADR8ZBS17PN13D

Buckwheat isn't soft or comfortable exactly.. it is malleable though, so ideally you can set it up so it's got your head and neck aligned properly. It makes sense to me because it seems like the exact height of the core pillow only works for me some of the time, not all the time. They also sell water pillows that are adjustable for that reason.

u/GrognaktheLibrarian · 2 pointsr/SleepApnea

I toss and turn less but this pillow could help too. I miss being able to roll over on my stomach and think this would help because it's got cut outs for your mask.

I got one of these a few months ago: Mediflow Water Pillow because I was having a lot of neck pain. My favorite thing is that you control how much water goes in the base making it totally adjustable. :)

u/waurel · 2 pointsr/migraine

I am on this same hunt and have tried several to no avail. Lately sleeping on a buckwheat pillow, link below. I like it because it holds its shape, but i think it’s a little too firm. That said, it has a zipper and some of the filling can be removed to make it softer. (I plan to try that this week).

Beans72 Organic Buckwheat Pillow - Queen Size (20 inches x 30 inches) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000F1FL9E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3waXBbX9Y0A08

u/Hows_Your_Back · 2 pointsr/fibro

I have 2 memory foam pillows that I sleep on and while I don't have migraines I did notice a considerable change in my sleep quality. I still have a lot of neck and upper back pain, but I tend to wake up less and they just feel better to sleep on since mine are a little firmer. I sleep with 2 pillows and I wonder if maybe the extra height is part of the problem, might try just one for a while.

I had a friend recommend a water pillow she absolutely loves it, but I don't have personal experience.

u/artipants · 2 pointsr/infertility

Totally depends on what kind of pillow you want!

My husband absolutely loves his memory foam countour pillow, something like this. I got an old friend of mine this pillow after he complained about always getting hot at night and I know he was still using it a year later. I personally just use $5 cheapies for my head but absolutely need a body pillow to get comfortable. I'm considering one like this because it's longer and firmer than the one I have now.

u/jaredharley · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

My brother has the same problem (the jaw popping) and it completely went away when he started sleeping with a buckwheat pillow at night, instead of a regular down pillow. Weird, but a pillow is way cheaper than jaw surgery!

u/AkaHana413 · 2 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I got mine from Amazon here. You can always order more buckwheat hulls to fill the pillow if you find that it lays too flat.

u/1steditionchar1zard · 2 pointsr/Mattress

Hey again, just wanted to follow up because I ordered this pillow - and - this in indeed the exact pillow I've been looking for. Oh my, it's perfect in every way. I'm kind of mad because I wish I had known about this ten years ago. I hope my neck pain goes away but I can already tell I'll be a happy sleeper from here on out. I wanted to thank you for the awesome suggestion!!!

Funds are tight this month because SO's mom is flying us to Florida for her wedding, but expecting us to pay for all of the other costs -.- I really need new pillows.Like these ones. Not only are fluffy pillows more comfortable in general,I have been fighting a chest cold that makes it really hard to lay horizontally at night because of the fluid... resulting in at least an hour of hacking and coughing before I manage to fall asleep at night. If you sleep on your stomach then you probably wouldn't like the pillow like I have. It doesn't squish down like a feather pillow does. You could try one of these pillows and maybe get the low loft one.

u/Gefilte_Fish · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

Sorry that I can't give you a brand, but I bought mine from a local mattress manufacturer. It's made from the same talalay latex that my mattress is made of. Comes in soft, medium, firm. Firm is probably best for side sleepers like us. Very comfy. Look up talalay latex pillow. Expect to spend about $80.

Stay away from memory foam. It's a closed-cell foam and gets really hot because it can't breathe.

Thanks everyone! After talking with my ENT doctor this morning, I ended up buying this one:

Contour Products, CPAPMax 2.0 Pillow for Sleeping with CPAP Machine, works for side, back and stomach sleepers, alleviates leaking, reduces noise, no odors https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYNBWXG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2bKJDb3RD0AQ

Also, my doctor reminded me about getting a night guard too.

The snoogle is just ok (but I realize I'm in the minority camp on this). Kinda pricey for the quality of pillow and really hurts my neck. I switch between a 3-pillow stack up to sleep on my back partially sitting up, and sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees and sometimes the snoogle at the end of the bed for knee/back/hip support. I. CAN'T. GET. COMFORTABLE. Here are my other pillows: 1. Is the favorite pillow from the Sweethome:

This nightie from the GAP is also great and keeping me cool. http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1067927&vid=1&pid=422176042

I use this pillow and it stays very cool. It can be a little weird to use at first since you have to shape it how you want but once you get it right it stays that way and it’s very comfortable. I like having different types of pillows so I got the thin and the normal ones. Thin are better if you like to sleep on your back or front, normal are pretty thick but good for side sleeping and propping yourself up to watch a movie or something.

u/katiejaguar · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Yeah!! Sometimes its nice to have something warm to hold on to! What i usually do is make a pile of pillows and stuffies and blankets on either side of me so i feel held.

Of course, theres also this guy if that’s more your speed 😂

Partially commenting because I'm interested in others' replies, but I have this identical mattress in queen size and plan to get one in king once we close on our new house and would like a topper as well.

Go to a Tempurpedic store and find out which bed is "right" for you, then aim for a topper to match the specs of that mattress.

A helpful salesman pointed me toward a bed with a firm, thicker base with a top layer that was 4 pound density, IIRC.

I've had a topper from overstock.com before similar to this, and hopefully I can match the feel of the Tempurpedic at 1/5 of the price. Or that's the plan anyway.

No specific suggestions on pillows. I have one of these, but I'm not sure how I feel about it honestly. Not strongly positive or negative really.

Hope this was helpful.

I use this one It's so damned comfy and it stays pretty cool (I don't flip my pillow to the cool side anymore)

Crap. I'm not taller taller than ^^^__ so can I still play?

The most important item on my list right now is this pillow because without it I wake up with MAJOR headaches and the one I have is totally flatty mcflattface now.

PS. Ruger (I have one at home!)

Hah, oddly enough I bought this Malouf pillow when I was drunk. Best purchase ever. I'll shop around for some extra pillow cases now I think.

u/hankbaumbach · 1 pointr/Posture

It's a bit pricey at nearly $60 but I got one of these memory foam/bamboo pillows last year and it's pretty awesome.

https://www.amazon.com/Snuggle-Pedic-Ultra-Luxury-Combination-Adjustable-Hypoallergenic/dp/B0725349FN/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=bamboo+pillow&qid=1556198652&s=home-garden&sr=1-4

To be honest, when it first arrived it was a little too thick but they have a zipper that lets you easily remove some of the shredded memory foam so you can get it to the size you want.

My wife has chronic neck pain. I dont know about cooling but she swears by this pillow.

Any specific brand? I'm looking at the 30 dollar ones discounted from 120 to 100

best pillow ever. Depending on how much water is in it determines how firm/plush it is, and since it has water, it never gets hot. Always stays cool. I've never had to flip my pillow over since I've gotten this.

Ooooh wedding things! We had these at our wedding and EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PHOTOBOOTH, they're awesome! Our guests used them a whole bunch and it made for super funny pictures!

And in the home section, I highly suggest a good pillow. You won't believe the difference it makes! And we do spend most of our life sleeping.

You can't pick your friends nose! ;)

I am due one day after you and am having similar issues. Two things have helped:

u/SilverViper · 1 pointr/migraine

Yes, sleep is insanely important and anything that's disturbing it or your neck will cause issues. Go to a store like Bed, Bath and Beyond and try out some pillows if you can. If you get a memory foam, make sure to take your contacts out at night as they often dry out your eyes.

^i have the standard one. It's very nice but needs a few days to air out. It doesn't stay 100% cool if you aren't a person that falls asleep quickly. Best description is that it is firm but giving. I use the gel insert below to deal with the coolness issues.

I bought this one off amazon, and love it. I sleep on my side and use a full face mask, and those cutouts are perfect for my use. The one downside I have now though, is I can't sleep without this pillow. If I travel it comes with...

u/Crac_Monkey · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Water pillows are 1,000 times more comfortable than those stupid feather filled cotton crap pillows! ALSO Bidets are freaking awesome, all you need to do is dry the area off! Everyone around me are just a bunch of dirty butt holes!

u/harpoonguild · 1 pointr/funny

I bought this one and it seems to be made for side sleepers. It's a little too thick for me, but I tend to like my pillows regular size.

u/sothisisfun · 1 pointr/infertility

Latex pillows last forever compared to the standard fiber-filled ones I kept having to replace every six months. I have this one. The only thing with latex is it's very bouncy and some people don't like that. (Especially when cats walk on your pillow, they bounce you around more than with a normal pillow.)

u/yayoGAME · -1 pointsr/INEEEEDIT

This pillow has helped me changed my habit of sleeping on my stomach. It is a little uncomfortable the first few nights, but after that you won’t be able to sleep without. Good for people who want to better their sleep hygiene.
