I got two of these in August, and I love them so much I just ordered another one. I notice a difference in my hair and skin whenever I don’t sleep on one now. I was wary of the price at first, but this is about as affordable as they come for 100% mulberry silk. I’ve washed mine in the washing machine and line dried and they’re still nice.

What /u/lakashhar said. Exxxtreme Sheets from Amazon. <3

Edit - Actually, the ones I got from Amazon look different than the ones /u/lakashhar linked to. The ones I bought are more expensive, but they're super thick and soft. They don't feel like rubber at all and are two-layer.

Nw man nobody needs to know about thread counts until they're buying sheets.

Generally, look for 200-400 (anything over that tends to veer into pure marketing bs territory).

Spring mattresses you'll want a higher number to get the cool silky feel, if you have a memory foam mattress you actually want it on the lower 200 so the foam can "breathe" and you can avoid sweat stains.

If you don't want to go overboard looking for a luxe bedsheet try this for size:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLLUMOE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

$5 off isn't a real sale but these sheets won't give you any trouble. I use them in my guest bedroom and have no complaints.

u/DrBarista · 14 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Pure speculation, but maybe try one of those silk pillowcases people use to maintain their hair? Perhaps your pillowcases are physically irritating? Just a thought of something to try.

u/FeelMeRawr · 11 pointsr/SexWorkers

woowoo nuru session is one of my favorite! lol

so so so will break down some basics!

  1. as /u/sunniyellowscarf say gel may eventually get sticky and gross. this because water gel ratio mix off and room too cold. first must use enough hot water mixing with gel for proper ratio. second must start session freshly showered and not dried off (start session wet from shower). lastly turn up heat in room both bodies should be sweating because nori stay activated with humidity (shower steam) and sweat.
  2. use rubber sheet or inflatable mattress just for nuru. personally i love exxxtreme sheet i link.....super easy cleanup and kingsize bed so much more fun romping around lots of space.
  3. cleanup! have half dozen beach towel ready for cleanup. always always always wipe nuru off with large dry towel first. nuru reactivate with any moisture so using wet towel for cleanup just spread mess around. towel yourself off first and towel client off and while client in shower towel sheet off. sheet now completely dry in less than minute and can strip bed put sheet in machine wash. personally i hang dry have never used dryer but my apartment have large balcony can hang sheet over balcony rail for air dry. outcall.....sheet totally dry once towel off so fold into carry bag and wash later.
  4. contact! treat nuru session as happy ending massage not penetrative sex. body slide or body rub obviously make contact with penis but no penetrative sex or "stripper slide" or vaginal contact. during slide will contact penis with breasts and other "crevice" like armpit or between thighs or between calves but always preventing actual vaginal contact.
  5. penetrative sex only done after nuru slide over!
  6. condoms! is safe for penetrative intercourse after nuru as long care taken before pull out condom for sex. wipe hands dry with towel and wipe client penis and crotch dry with towel. never never wash because water just reactive nuru make even more slippery! dry nuru residue okay but must be dry residue. put on condom as normal and dry nuru residue create almost gluelike seal of condom on penis. have never had condom slide off as long as area dry before roll on condom.
  7. penetrative sex okay even with wet nuru on sheet and other part of body just be aware.....continuing nuru slide with condom on may work wet nuru gel under base of condom which may slowly work way up shaft.....which may lubricate condom inside enough slide off. so this why i say.....body slide first then penetrative sex as separate finale of session.
  8. if client cum during nuru slide.....do not take chance with condom for second go until both have had full shower. but even if nuru dry on bed during shower is okay. steam from shower and wet bodies and sweat reactive nuru residue on rubber sheet so will get slippery again as soon as hop back on bed.
  9. my favorite mr. nori's pink nuru and mix with hot water in large bowl (or ice bucket for outcall lol). but yesterday i notice mr. nori's web site and youtube channel disappear. i make post on /r/sextoys asking if anyone know what happen with mr. nori's.
  • /r/SexToys/comments/7fg8hj/what_happen_to_mr_noris_nuru_gel_web_site_and/

so.....uhhhhh.....hope that help! lol any other question just ask!

I just got this one off Amazon. I like it because one side is silk and the other is cotton so it doesn't slide around at night. It zips up and can be thrown in the washing machine. It also came with a few silk cocoons!

u/crankydrinker · 8 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I have Amazon ones, this one specifically to maintain my curls 2nd/3rd day.

u/ziburinis · 7 pointsr/JUSTNOMIL

You can get waterproof mattress pads that have a waterproof liner in them and a padded top with cotton over that. You won't have to buy separate liners and tops. They are not expensive, I have them on my bed and I replace them as they get worn or smell too strongly of body smell. It's not BO, just normal body odor that eventually washing won't remove. What you might want to do is get one of those and/or a protector that prevents insects from getting into your mattress. Look for ones that are made for bed bugs. They have some all in ones for that too.

Don't neglect one for your box spring. Something like this https://smile.amazon.com/SafeRest-Premium-Box-Spring-Encasement

Pillow protectors since your eyes seem to be screwed up and this helps keep your pillows clean https://smile.amazon.com/Standard-Size-SureGuard-Pillow-Protectors

This company has full and queen for about 20 bucks and pillow protectors for 9. https://smile.amazon.com/Microfiber-Zippered-Dustmites-Protector-Hypoallergenic

And if you need sheets, you can get a cheap microfiber set. It's not cotton, they are polyester but I bought some because I needed for medical reasons a very soft sheet set and these are amazingly soft and silky. Any brand seems to be the same in that, and this one is the cheapest for a full, like 15.50. With queen it's like 17 something and there are some others that cost the same or similar https://smile.amazon.com/Utopia-Bedding-4-Piece-Full-Sheet These are too expensive for a full, queen is nearly 10 bucks cheaper, but I bought this brand and they are really nice to sleep in even with being polyester, they feel luxurious https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00LV4W1JM So if you want to splurge on a really nice feeling sheet, this is a cheap way to do it.

u/irish_oatmeal · 7 pointsr/LifeProTips

A trick that I was told by a hairdresser (because I have curly hair) is buy a satin pillowcase. You can buy one for under 10.00 bucks at Amazon.

u/pig-newton · 6 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I just ordered one that's silk on one side and cotton on the other so it doesn't slip around. I'd been keeping it my cart on amazon for a while because it just seemed so expensive, but the price dropped a few dollars today so I went for it.

u/Squirmingbaby · 6 pointsr/news

Doesn't always work. I think that sellers will flood amazon with fake or bought for reviews to get good ratings.

Try searching for cotton sheets and you get stuff like this:

https://www.amazon.com/1500-Supreme-Collection-Extra-Sheets/dp/B00AMNAGV8/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?keywords=cotton+sheets+king&qid=1562192875

First of all, it's not cotton and second, the top review says that the product is bad. No personal experience with it, but it sure looks suspicious to me.

u/adhocflamingo · 6 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

You might consider getting a satin pillowcase or sleep cap. The slippery surface musses up your hair less than regular cotton, which is nice for having second-day hair without pillow frizz, and will probably keep your hair from getting all snarled when you sleep.

I have this silk one, which I really like. (The zipper keeps the pillow in the case in nicely.)

Also, if you aren't already, getting your hair cut by someone who specializes in curly hair and can cut your curls to have good separation and movement would likely help. Hair cuts for straight hair can make your curls clump into a single mass, and I think that gets tangled up more easily.

I bought a ton of pillowcases. You can get a pack like that, keep them in your night stand. Change it, sleep, flip the pillow, sleep, change it again and repeat. Much much easier. ☺️

u/kdennis · 5 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I would say flannel isn't the best for sensitive skin. I have both these silk ones and these cotton ones and I like both a lot.

Someone already mentioned making sure you have clean pillowcases, which I think is definitely the most important piece.

u/bbdoll · 5 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

i use and love these: https://www.amazon.com/Alaska-Bear-Natural-Pillow-non-bleached/dp/B00KDL108M

they're extremely nice and well made imo. i read that mulberry silk is one of the better kinds too.

u/cortexgunner92 · 4 pointsr/Wellworn

also if anyone is looking for a good way to organize keys, these things are very well worth the price and work fantastic:

http://www.amazon.com/Troika-Patent-Keyholder-Rings-KYR60MC/dp/B00009R4CM

u/Cranberry_Lips · 4 pointsr/MakeupRehab

I own an Alaska Bear mulberry silk pillowcase as well as their silk sleep mask and I love them. The reason it's called mulberry silk is because the silk worms eat only mulberry leaves (at least from what I've seen when I helped out at a silk farm as a kid).

I thought about buying the one with the cotton bottom, but I like to flip my pillowcase after a couple of days, and I've never had issues with it moving around.

Silk is a very soft, light, slippery, and breathable material. I've tried satin before and it makes me sweat. It's like I'm cold and hot at the same time. It's also not as soft and it feels heavier.

I definitely recommend at least buying one and trying it out. I wouldn't spend $100 on something from Nordstrom, though, unless it was made in the US by strapping young men.

u/Jakomako · 4 pointsr/BusinessTantrums

No they don’t do that at all! In fact, they get cold and very comfortable. My main issue was that the hair at the back of my neck would get sweaty and tangle badly with regular cotton. Never happens with silk! Look at the benefits of silk for your skin. You never wake up with dents on your skin and it helps improve your overall skin and prevent wrinkles. I swear by silk pillowcases and have gotten some for friends and family and it makes a world of a difference.

Hey OP, I just went through this earlier in the year. I was also told never to buy a used mattress, so I scoured the web in search of the cheapest new mattress and bedframe that I could find. I managed to find this mattress + foundation combo for under $400. These are also both online, so you don't have to worry about delivery.

6in queen-size memory foam mattress from Wal-mart - $219

Queen size mattress foundation from Amazon - $134 + $5.54 shipping

I've been sleeping on this combination for the past couple months too, so I can vouch for their quality. I spent a lot of time online figuring this out and this is the best combination I found for myself. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have, I hope these suggestions are useful.

P.S. I also recommend buying a mattress protector (this is the one I bought) so that your new mattress as well as all your future queen-size mattresses will be protected from spills and guaranteed to last as long as possible.

u/keriberry_420 · 3 pointsr/keriberry_420

Deal. I have the idea to use this tiny cheap white crop top, white cotton thong, lots of oil, whipped cream, fake cum... maybe champagne? White t-shirt theme w high contrast and lots of mess, squirting and a creampie.
They're not cheap babe- you would be granted access to the paid clip if you buy them for me

Thanks, I'm super glad I can help! :D Yep, I don't even get it wet. I put my hair up and wash my body only, about every 2 days. I get my hair wet and deep condition every two weeks, emphasis on strands not scalp. Over washing will dry you the fuck out. You may be greasy at first, but your body adapts when it realizes you aren't trying to rip off all the oil it produces - which it produces to protect itself. I have dry thick hair on top of that. Here's all the products I use, including face and body soap. The green one is heat protectant spray to prevent heat damage when curling or blow drying, only to be applied after showering while hair is wet. In the background you can also see Hydrocortisone cream, which i apply to any redness or rashes or bumps that appear anywhere on my body. (Was essential for the itchy skin phase at month 2.) Also not pictured is my Aveeno body lotion which I apply all over my body and face anytime after washing or shaving. Everything in your life should be sensitive skin and hydrating.

  • Go to a GOOD salon. Don't do a Super Cuts at the mall. You get what you pay for. My haircuts are $200-300. And don't be afraid to splurge on REAL human hair tape extensions at a top salon if your hair is too short or thin!! The results and dysphoria reduction is totally worth it and you won't be able to tell your own hair from the extensions. It's like an effective surgery.

  • Avoid dying your hair regardless of the salon. I keep my hair 100% natural so it is always super healthy and looks great. Your color is you! Wear it proudly! Make it work!

  • Put your hair up in braids at night. Helps to prevent tangles and gives it waves. Also braids are hot and great to practice and get good at. You can also braid your hair when damp and slightly blow dry and then sleep on them. You'll have waves in the morning. I don't do this often as I don't get my hair wet often and I tend to avoid tension when my hair is wet to prevent breakage.

  • Do not brush or comb your hair when wet! That is when it is at its weakness. Think of wet paper. Blow dry it after applying heat spray and as it dries brush gently.

  • Be gentle. Every broken or lost hair is years of hard work gone. Hold a funeral for every hair lost.

  • Avoid campfire smoke, cigarette smoke, weed smoke, smog pollution, rain, intense sun or heat, weird smells, put hair up and away if cooking to keep smell and smoke out of it, avoid sleeping on sand paper, CHLORINE HOLY FUCK DON'T SWIM IN POOLS OR THE OCEAN WITHOUT HAIR CAPS! Obviously you can be bad and do these things every now and then. I mean, you should have a life! Just don't do them every week. It's like dessert.

  • Perform this ritual every night. You'll need an umbrella.

  • Finally, remember to sing this incantation.

    Other essentials:

  • Silk Pillowcase (Essential, you lay on your hair for half the day!! Friction = Fizz, dryness, breakage! The more silk in your life the better.)
  • Waist Trainer (Only the ones with 25 spiral felixboning supports!! The fabric ones aren't nearly as good. As I've written elsewhere in this thread, I wear it 5-8 hours a day, went from a 27" to a 23" waist or a M to an XS. Needs to be replaced bi-monthly. You will break it and it will stretch over time.)
  • Teeth Whitening Kit (Which, fun fact, depending on how sensitive your teeth are, you can literally continuously to bleach them treatment after treatment in the same day to get them crazy white. But stop if it hurts too much!)
  • Extra safe hair brush (It's for extensions and meant to be super gentle, but holy smokes it's wonderful for natural hair too which you also don't want damaged!)
  • A Cat (Helps confirm you have boobs. Pretty sure purrs and kneading are magical kitty kisses that make them grow. Naming your boobs such as "Angelina" and "Jolie" in my case will also give them the inspiration they need to grow up big and strong and ready to be motorboated by the person of your choice.)

    Hope this helps! <3

I bought a yard of linen fabric intending to hem the edge, producing my own Iinen bath towel for about $8.00. Great plan, except I can’t find it, and might have tossed it in the goodwill bag for some insanely stupid reason.

Just received this one https://www.amazon.com/Green-Foster-Product-Natural-Indigo/dp/B01NB9IQLG which looks decent out of the package. Currently its in the dryer. I’ve run it through the laundry once to get any shrinkage out of the way. We’ll see what happens. Initial impressions are that a full-size bath towel that doesn’t take any more room in a bag, or weigh more, than a shirt is a good thing. I’ll probably get a hand-towel or washcloth sized one for the times when I really want to travel light, but the bath towel sized one might be a good one for even ultralight packing, just because it doubles as a tablecloth or beach/picnic towel .

Edit:

Size: 27” x 57” (ca. 68cm x 144cm), 180g
For comparison, a cotton terry towel from the shelf at home: 27” x 48”, 485g.

Tested it out this morning. Different feel, as it doesn’t have the terry-looped texture of a traditional bath towel. Drying off with this towel requires more of a squeegee action than a rub-and-let-it-absorb. That said, it did its job.

I left it draped over the back of a wooden chair to dry. I came home four hours later to find a completely dry towel.
I rolled it up - it takes about as much space as one of my t-shirts (usually XL). I can even fold it and stow it in my toiletries cube.

Between the quick drying time and packability, I give it a two-thumbs-up. If it were about a foot longer, and I had a third hand, it’d double as a scarf and I’d give it three thumbs up.

Try a satin pillowcase if you don't want to pin your hair up in something. I have two of these, I don't wake up with a magical perfect halo of curls but it's definitely better than cotton.

So currently, I wash my hair every sunday, then deep condition right after, add in leave in, avocado oil and gel. I co wash in the week (kind of). I only co wash if my hair isnt looking as curly because of sleeping (for some reason when i sleep, my hair looks different, still have some curl partners but not defined at all and yes I sleep with satin pillow case https://www.amazon.com/Spasilk-Beauty-Pillowcase-Standard-Queen/dp/B0070U9GSU). Every so often in the week, I would just use hot water and attempt to style my hair compared to co washing. Would only co wash if the use of water no longer works. TOday is friday, I co washed on Wednesday, added water today, my scalp is itch and dry. I think I have been having this problem for a while now but still cant find a way to fix it. Please help me! I want to get defined curls. So far, I have only been able to get defined curls once. Can't remember what I did but that was with longer hair. I did a buzz cut recently but I have gotten to the point where my hair can curl a bit again.

My wife and I had a similar experience when we first started dating. After a while, the mattress began to stain and eventually began to smell musty (this was after about 2 years). After spending some time in a sex shop, I came across a rubber fitted bedsheet. It was a special order item, but it was damn well worth the price. Its 100% waterproof. Granted you'll still have to lay down a couple of disposable pads or towels, or your squirt will end up pooling and dripping to the floor, but this was the best investment I made, and it doesnt smell despite consistent use. It even prevents the absorption of lube. There was a point where we didnt wash the sheet for about 3 months and there was 0 musty smell. I highly reccomend you look into this as it saved our new mattress and hours of headache and cleaning. Dont ever make yourself feel like you have to hold back on your pleasure because of a minor inconvenience. Happy squirting!

I was reading about silk/satin pillowcases last night for hair and skin, and Alaska Bear is a top choice of a few. Lo and behold, this brand has some of their mulberry silk pillowcases on Prime Day sale today (I ended up buying some from their Lightning deal this morning).

idk what momme means, though; still researching that.

Stuff like that, I would say, it's worth investing in.

For all here against Amazon (I understand), see if your local store or favorite e-tailer will price match the products in this thread.

u/be_ruff_ · 2 pointsr/curlyhair

I would recommend to stop brushing. If you really just want to brush, only do so when soaking wet. Apply your cream (and think about adding a gel or something to hold the curl better) to damp but not wet hair and diffuse or air dry and use a pick to help shape and get volume. As for sleep, try a silk pillow case like [this]

This quick-release keyring is the best I've owned and shows no signs of wear after years of use.

I've tried various other units of similar design but the quality was lacking. Other keychain designs are far less useful if you like to remove keys or other items on a somewhat regular basis.

I've already seen those.

> The way it was described the bottom seem to be a full sheet underneath the mattress. I was very disappointed when I received the product and it was nothing more than a glorified fitted sheet. It's still came loose the same way a typical fitted sheet would.

These sheets are basically for disabled people who want to have an easier time washing the top part, as I understand it.

I like spectrum coconut oil, which is carried at whole foods. I use it as an occasional mask when i have some time to let it soak in and then wash it out well at home. any brand will do through!

Whenever I shower, I use head & shoulders 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner AS my shampoo, followed by [this mask] (http://www.sephora.com/dont-despair-repair-deep-conditioning-mask-P388628?skuId=1784636&icid2=products%20grid:p388628). When I get out of the shower I use this towel that doesn't break my hair because it's microfiber. Then I rub this camellia oil through my hair with my fingers and lay it on really thick if my hair's looking dry. I don't brush my hair anymore because I'm too afraid of breakage.

I sleep on this pillowcase which has helped to not break my hair as well!

Take fish oil capsules if you aren't already, they will help. Lay off of styling products and take a break from brushing if you can.

This is the one that I've been using for 3 years: LinenSpa 100% Waterproof Mattress Protector

Our female cat likes to pee on our bed whenever something bothers her, and this has been an utter lifesaver. We went from pulling our hair out every time it happened (wtf do you do with a pee-soaked mattress twice a day because your male kitten grew into a big bully who terrorizes the female ?) to just being able to rip this sheet off and throwing it in the washing machine. We also like to put another fitted sheet on top of it for comfort. This thing is seriously amazing - 3 years of continuous use, and not even a hint of pee smell gets through (and I have a sharptastic nose).

I could be a salesmen for these waterproof sheets. So awesome :D

$20, but trust me, if you've never used a detachable key ring you're in for a treat.

u/aksack · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

My girlfriend has these and they seem pretty good, especially for the price. They are microfiber which some don't seem to like, but much better than Target sheets (which I have used in the past and do like for the price.

I will warn you that they get SUPER dirty looking super fast. Drool, makeup - stains it. I would steer clear from a white silk one because it just looks so gross after like a week haha. I buy this one off of Amazon and end up getting a new one every 3-4 months, so it's not that bad of a deal! Not staticky for me at all. It also feels really nice on my skin :)

u/AFineDayForScience · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

Not a whole lot of BIFL things that you can buy for $60, though I'm in full on shopping mode from putting together my wedding registry together so I have some ideas:

  1. Set of nice percale pillowcases, or cheaper percale sheets. We have these for our guest beds, and they're a little rougher than high quality sheets, but pretty thick and durable.

  2. Yeti tumblers are pretty nice, hold temp well, and are generic.

  3. Anything from Anker. They make great phone/USB chargers. We have 2 of these, and are looking at another portable charger for trips.

  4. If you cook/bake, these are some quality mixing bowls for around $60

  5. Maybe a shredded memory foam pillow?

Satim sheets for the bedroom. This is really good for our hair, and it's heavenly to sleep in. Use the extra money to and buy a box of chocolates to set on the pillows.

Make the bed for her with her new sheets, light a candle, have the chocolates waiting for her. I'd suggest buying the chocolates in a store as Amazon is rather pricey on chocolate.

Here is a kindle book I like.

Thanks for the contest!

I have 4 of these on my keychain, 1 of each size - 8GB has TAILS on it, 16GB has Portable Apps and a few other programs, 32GB has a YUMI with different Linux Distros, Windows 7,8 and 10 iso's, and various recovery cd's, and my 64GB has a VeraCrypt volume and plenty of free space for just random junk.

Late to the party, but this bad boy gets carried on my belt every day and I've had no failures in over a year so far. Combo with some titanium split rings and you're good to go.

I've used a Troika keyring for a few years now without issue. I like this setup on my keyring because it allows me to add and remove keys easily if I switch vehicles, (like from my truck to motorcycle) and detach key ring tools as I need them, (like my Gerber Dime).

u/bonafidebob · 1 pointr/motorcycles

Do yourself a favor and get a keyholder like [this http://www.amazon.com/Troika-Patent-Keyholder-Rings-KYR60MC/dp/B00009R4CM], each key has it's own tiny ring and a little nub. There are cheap ones at any hardware store or locksmith, they all take the same nubs, so you can get two or three if you've got a lot of keys and save the hubs for later. Then you only carry the keys you need that day, and nothing rubs on the bike.

u/creamersrealm · 1 pointr/financialindependence

Thread count is how soft the sheet is but it can lie. I have 3 sets if sheets, one is a Columbia Cool set and they have super deep pockets with an elastic band. Which is amazing for me during the summer and I have a mattress topper and a deep pocket mattress already. My second pair of sheets is a nice very soft Amazon choice set. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00NLLUP4G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Kc4SCb94ZMEDA

My third set is garbage and I hate them with a passion.

Also on a side note where my bed is super deep I bought a pair of bed sheet suspenders and they have saved my life.

u/Plutarch_Rime · 1 pointr/CCW

The first thing I learned is there are things I'd like to carry with me all the time, and then there's the annoyance of encumbrance. All of these EDC videos on YouTube show some interesting products, but there's no way I could walk around with all the shit people carry on them all day.

I have found nothing better than the Troika for organizing keys, and things that can be carried on keyrings. Since my latest vehicle is push-to-start, I no longer have to concern myself too much with weight on my keyring the way I used to when I had to put it into the ignition. I am such a fan of these Troikas that I just give them out as gifts to everyone I know.

I realized that I don't have a lifestyle where I really need full-sized tools on an everyday carry basis. Accordingly, I just use a Leatherman Micra and a one-cell Fenix E01 flashlight. If I know I'm going out walking at night, I'll bring something larger, but my point here is the first thing I did was pare down what I carried to what I actually needed. Both are connected to the Troika with my keys, and easily detachable (that's what the Troika does best.)

This way, my front right pocket contains my keys, the Micra, and a Flashlight.

Secondly, I always wear an unbuttoned overshirt everywhere I go. This provides me breast pockets in which I carry a pen. So-called "tactical" pens are mocked, in large part because they are called "tactical" pens, which is hilarious. However, these have a variety of benefits:

  • They are me-proof. Because they are made of durable metal, they won't get bent or explode on me. This is important.

  • The one I use has a rape whistle and a firestarter (srsly) in it as well. I will likely never have use for either, but I get them "for free."

One pocket contains the pen, and sometimes a penlight (which is as much "full sized" flashlight as I need.) The Streamlight Stylus Pro is simply the best flashlight I've ever owned:

  • It is affordable.

  • It is not "too much" flashlight. I used to carry a Fenix LD20 for walking at night, but, aside from its annoying features (the stupid strobe mode, for example), I found that in the event it moved across the window of a house, it would likely alarm the tenants. Super-powered flashlights have their uses and fans, but for walking at night where I live, it's overkill for me. If I was searching for something in the dark, I'd maybe bring something heavier. In addition, it doesn't fuck with my night vision the way one of the super bright ones does. Sometimes less is more. It's also more carryable and less fiddly.

The Stylus Pro lives in my breast pocket next to the pen when I carry it, and it has one feature I love more than others: one mode, and one mode only. I never engage the strobe by mistake or anything like this. If I ever need to use it in combination with a firearm, I won't have to worry about activating the wrong mode. It has a single "proud" clicky at the back, and is just the shit. So much so I own 4 - one for the car, and a few in other rooms of the house.

The other breast pocket carries my cell phone.

Wallet is a Maxpedition Spartan, the best wallet I've ever owned, and the longest-lasting by orders of magnitude. That ALWAYS GOES IN THE BACK LEFT POCKET, because on the occasions I have a gun, that is carried on my right at about 4:30. As I am rountinely stopped and questioned by police just for walking at night, and asked to produce my ID, I don't want my hand going anywhere near my pistol (or exposing it by lifting up my shirt on that side).

Lastly, sometimes (generally when hiking, because I need it to handle cactus spines - mainly cholla chunks), I carry an assisted opening blade clipped inside my left front pocket - a Benchmade Barrage, or my Kershaw Volt, which is ambidextrous.

I have this fear of someone grabbing at my firearm, which is, when carried, always carried concealed. This frees up my right arm to fight off Mr. Grabbypants and secure the gun, and my left hand can go for the knife to make my point in a somewhat more strident manner, if necessary.

All of this took years to work out.

For any guy who's trying to get a clean, masculine looking bed on a tight budget. You can get a set of dark gray mellani sheets on Amazon for $25. They're likely the most comfortable sheets you can get at that price, and they're breatheable enough that you won't run hot. Keep those sheets clean and folded in your closet and throw them on when you're expecting company. Also, start the bedding with the side towards the wall so you can flatten it out as you move to the outside, you won't have big imprints in your bedding.

Haha omg. So sorry! I was replying to someone else about cushion cases and forgot what context your message was about since I sent it from my inbox.

I purchased this Alaska Bear brand silk pillowcase from Amazon.

Percale is the best for hot sleepers. We went on this odyssey a few years ago and had a lot of aggravation but found a few good options. They feel a little scratchy for the first few washes but soften up a little pretty quickly. The only thing that may be annoying to some is that they wrinkle if you leave them in the dryer for too long, but... eh. Do NOT get sateen sheets. They are slick and gross.

Target has some Threshold ones that are great. I think we bought some of these awhile back but I'm not 100% sure that these are the same ones (labeling is a little different). The ones we have are made in India.

I bought a set of these awhile back and they are thicker than the Target ones but the detailing isn't quite as good. They are cool and sleep well, though. (Made in China)

> Other overhead includes a decent-sized warehouse that probably runs them $50K annual including utilities, and quite likely a truck or two.

They could potentially just send everything into FBA with no quality control, correct?

On top of Amazon's 15% commission, what does an average order look like for a Prime-shipped FBA'd item?

https://www.amazon.com/LUCID-Hypoallergenic-Waterproof-Mattress-Protector/dp/B00A2G9VFM

The seller gets that item manufactured in China

They ship it overseas right into an FBA warehouse

They have to pay the... $7-$10 shipping fee to ship it to a customer, no? $17 - $7 is $10. 15% Amazon fee: $8.50. The cost of the product has to be in the ball park of $3. $5.50. How much do storage fees cost? What about import tariffs, etc.?

You seem very knowledgable on this topic. Are you an FBA seller?

If your boyfriend sweats a lot, has he tried showering right before bed? He'll still sweat overnight, but it won't smell nearly as much if at all.

If your mattress already smells, this might be too late, but there's a reason for mattress protectors. Something cheap like this can do a lot to protect your mattress from long term stains and smells, you can always take it off and wash it:

I just got a queen Zinus "Green Tea" memory foam bed. Currently $289 shipped on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q7EPSHI/

It is pretty firm. I actually ordered a 3" gel topper because of the firmness (you sleep on top rather than sinking into it), but that proved to be too squishy (the topper leaves an imprint of your body when you roll). I have a 2" topper on another bed & imo that is the right level of squish vs. firmness: (the bed is firm to the point where my side wasn't sinking in & was kind of being compressed instead, like when you lay on thin carpet when watching TV or something)

https://www.amazon.com/Sleep-Master-Memory-Topper-Queen/dp/B00FJNQBJ2/

Also, I picked up their awesome 18" tall frame:

https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-SmartBase-Foundation-Replacement-Noise-Free/dp/B017YETH8K/

TONS of storage space underneath, easy to setup (2 pieces that screw together & fold in half, lightweight & only requires one person to assemble...literally takes more time to unbox it than put it together), no noise in use, plus with the 12" Zinus bed, it's at a good height to walk up to & fall into bed. You will need a grip sheet underneath, otherwise the bed will slide off pretty easily:

https://www.amazon.com/TRU-Lite-Bedding-Slip-Mattress/dp/B01AS3HADS

I also recommend getting a waterproof sheet (goes underneath the regular sheets), as any spills will sink directly into the foam mattress & never, ever come out:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A2G9VFM/

I got these Mellanni sheets - they are thin, but feel nice:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLNDU00

Slightly better than the Amazon Basics sheets I have on another bed. I have a plastic bin underneath the bed for storing a spare set of sheets & waterproof sheet (both are washer/dryer-safe). Total comes up to under $600 shipped for a 12" memory foam bed, 2" gel topper, 18" metal bed frame, a non-skid pad for the frame, two sets of sheets, and two waterproof mattress sheets. I was going to get a Casper or Leesa, but those were like $800 just for the bed...I got all that for $200 less, still a pretty hefty investment, but a decent deal. Other than that, you just need some pillows & a duvet or blanket on the top.

The mattress comes vacuum-sealed in a box, so you just undo it from the packaging & let it air out for a day or two to fully decompress. The frame comes in a large but thin box (two frames folded in half with some assembly hardware). I didn't have to mooch a truck off a friend or go to a mattress store or anything...ordered it all off Amazon Prime, showed up in a couple days, put it all together by myself in minutes. Easy peasy. Would definitely order another one!

Flannel sheets.

You spend a quarter to a third of your life with sheets, you might as well enjoy them.

From Amazon: The BEST flannel sheets in the world. Seriously - read those reviews! Right out of the wash the first time, they were the most comfortable sheets I'd ever slept on. We bought them almost three years ago, they live on the bed all winter, held up great, and have just gotten softer:
