After traveling to Japan a couple of times I just couldn't go back to scraping my ass with dry paper like a filthy animal. I felt like a third-world savage using restrooms in Japan and reflecting on my own caveman-esque civilization back home. I bought a smart-toilet seat / bidet the second I got home. 250 dollars and the thing has a heated seat, press a button and it sprays you clean, oscillating function... You can adjust the water temperature and water pressure. Anywhere from a spittle to glorious paint-stripping power. The whole process is indescribably more comfortable and more hygienic. For the first couple weeks I'd give it one wipe afterwards to make sure there was no residual poo left in the area but it gets the job done EVERY SINGLE TIME. Without fail. The seat also has a drying function so I haven't used a single piece of toilet paper in months. If you don't have a couple hundred dollars to splurge on a high-tech life-changing toilet seat you can buy an attachment that is like the kitchen sink sprayer. I learned to use those in Thailand. I call it the ass-blaster. It isn't powerful enough to completely clean you but it severely reduces the amount of paper you need to use. The mix of water / paper is just so much cleaner. Think about it this way; if someone smeared poo on your arm, you wouldn't just scrape away at it with a dry piece of paper and call it clean.

EDIT: This is the model I bought if anyone is interested. Bio Bidet BB-600. I have friends who bought this same model and are happy with it as well. Toto is the gold-standard if you want to spend a little more. Happy to answer any further question in my quest to proselytize the paper-scrapers of the world and save the Canadian forests.

u/ramobara · 797 pointsr/HighQualityGifs

I literally just used my bidet while reading this.

People, don't underestimate the power of a clean ass. In the states, standalone bidets aren't common. The bidet I'm using hooks up to my toilet and I got it for $30.

EDIT: Here's the model I use.

u/pegacorn · 447 pointsr/AskReddit

Fancy toilet. Heated Seat, water spray for front and back, dryer...holy god I would have paid 5x the price (around 500 bucks). So worth it.

Edit: The link to the product we bought. http://www.amazon.com/Brondell-S1000-EW-Advanced-Elongated-Toilet/dp/B0045UB9GK/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1345832488&sr=8-7&keywords=bidet+toilet+seat

"if you stepped in dog poop in your bare feet, would you blot it with paper towel, or would you wash it off with water?"

$35 is a great start, and when you're ready for snobbish luxury...

Get a bidet you animals

Edit: Ass usual the uncivilized shit wipers people have questions/confusion about bidets. They make bidets that run on electricity for warm water and a fan to dry you after washing your poopy butthole. For those of you willing to try the Cadillac of butt cleaning here is my amazing bidet. For you ballers on a budget I suggest the far cheaper but still adequate bidet. I say with zero hyperbole it will literally change your life for the better.

P.S For those of you buying and using "wet wipes" to clean yourself, you are living a dangerous lie that makes the rest of society worse off and doesn't make you as clean as a bidet would.

u/stevehobbes · 47 pointsr/self

They seem foreign and difficult to use (especially the european/muslim style which is basically just a faucet/hose for manual washing in a separate basin).

But then I spent two weeks in Japan and the Toto Washlet is my new god. It's a bidet done right - anything less is uncivilized. And I think they could become very popular in America, because they're so easy and accessible and added on to existing toilets.)

Also - there are ones with dryers baked in: http://smile.amazon.com/Brondell-S1000-EW-Advanced-Elongated-Toilet/dp/B0045UB9GK/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1415205898&sr=8-20&keywords=toto+washlet

u/isabelladangelo · 44 pointsr/NoStupidQuestions

> When I'm at home, I end with a wet wipe, and as such, am sure that I'm clean.

Get a bidet. It's well worth it. The initial cost is a bit much but it won't clog up the pipes (like wet wipes will) and you will save money over time. There are now the bidets you can add on to your already existing toilet.

u/cassalassa · 42 pointsr/AskWomen

The really basic ones just attach to your incoming water supply (the one that goes to the toilet tank), but there are some fancier ones that hook up to hot and cold water, and use electricity for seat warming, butt dryers, and air deodorizers (no, really).

u/pjohnson2017 · 40 pointsr/todayilearned

I had the dilemma, after research we went with one with a heated seat and that has a resevior that heats the water up. No need to circulate water. I grabbed it on sale last year for $280. Best purchase ever. We both agree if there was any one tech we had to take with us - it was the bidet. We hate going to the bathroom anywhere but home

https://www.amazon.com/BB-600E-BioBidet-Ultimate-Electric-Elongated/dp/B007HIKQCK/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1494251205&sr=8-7&keywords=bio+bidet

u/TheRealMattyPanda · 25 pointsr/bestoflegaladvice

You can get pricier ones that will heat the water. Like this one, will heat the water, has a seat warmer and and warm air dryer. So basically you could be in a tundra, but your ass will be in a warm tropical oasis.

The cheaper models will just connect to your regular water line (either both the hot and cold line or just the cold) so you'd be SOL. But wouldn't a spray of freezing water up your ol' bumhole be just the pick me up you need to get you going in the morning?

u/Himekat · 21 pointsr/JapanTravel

We bought the Toto C100, but I hear people also like the C200 (which has a couple of more features we didn't care about and a separate remote control that's not built into the console).

u/FlixFlix · 16 pointsr/HomeImprovement

Smart bidet for the bathroom. Once you've been to Japan, you're gonna want need this in your home. We got a cheap one for just over $200 and it works really well.

Also, the seat is heated... mmmm!

u/Lordica · 13 pointsr/RedditForGrownups

Do even more: Get yourself a bidet. Simple or fancy or something in between. It'll save the tush. Also, if you eat lightly the day before you start the cleanse, the whole thing goes easier. It's a lot of fuss over nothing and you get to avoid this type of cancer, at least.

u/2_4_16_256 · 9 pointsr/CrohnsDisease

Bidet's are the literal best thing on the toilet. The cost is entirely worth it especially when you can do mid-poop washes as needed. Bonus points for it being better than even toilet paper (minus the bit you use to dry off with if you don't get the model that will dry you off as well).

u/Tower_Of_Rabble · 8 pointsr/todayilearned

I started with a basic one then recently after a good month of sales decided to splurge on the Bio Bidet BB-2000 Bliss Bidet (amazon link : https://www.amazon.com/BB-2000W-BioBidet-Bliss-Electric-Elongated/dp/B00GRM11R6 ). It ran about $650 but is worth every penny.

It has a remote that controls everything and is a great conversation starter when guests come over. They'll ask "Why does that remote in the bathroom have asses on it? " "Is your calculator broken?" Or "I think your toilet is haunted. I tried to change the channel in the bathroom and now my sinkhole is sparkly clean."

Another fun activity is sometimes I'll have the remote with me and when they're done spraying the bowl I'll just mash some buttins on the remote and get their opinion. Almost everyone loves it.

u/illuxion · 8 pointsr/firstworldproblems

We have a Brondell in the upstairs spare bathroom, A Luxe 185 in the downstairs bathroom, and a Biobidet BB1000 in the master bathroom(it was only $150 on a lightning deal 2 years ago) and both of us prefer the Brondell one. The expensive one has warm water, warm seat and a pulsating stream to free those dingleberries but price isn't worth it, even at $150. Also the Brondell only raises the back of the seat 1/4". The Luxe raises seat height about an inch and the Biobidet raises it about 2 inches which doesn't seem like much but it's enough to feel strange on either of them.

Edit: fixed Luxe 185 link.

My argument is that if you get dog shit on your hand, wiping it off isn't going to get you clean. Washing is the only way to make that happen.

I don't get shit on my hand every day, but my ass is another story. And it really appreciates a good hosing down. Here is the simplest effective solution, although you can add hot water or get all fancy with an remote-controlled electric unit if you want.

u/Wand_Cloak_Stone · 6 pointsr/AskAnAmerican

My friend bought this one on amazon and swears by it, however there are cheaper (non-heated) ones there that I’ve also seen with positive reviews on Reddit.

u/uckfoo · 6 pointsr/AdviceAnimals

Here you go. This is for a "round" seat as that's what fits my toilet and my bathroom. There are also a variety of models with different options. This one is the top without replacing the whole toilet.

When I came home from Japan about a year ago I immediately bought a toilet seat that did most (not all) of the functions of the Japanese toilets.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007HIKQCK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zaGrDbMFXPSFF

Pricey, but worth every penny. I looked in to the Toto toilets and seats but they're a bit more expensive so I decided to try this one first and it's pretty much everything I wanted. I may upgrade someday and move this one to my second bathroom, but for now I love it!

u/jethrosnintendo · 5 pointsr/HomeImprovement

I’ve had it for over a year, works great. No need to look at the more expensive options, this has everything you would need.

u/Toast- · 5 pointsr/JapanTravel

Same here, and like many others I also bought a seat within a few weeks of coming home.

This is the model I have, and it's worked perfectly for about a year and a half now.

u/jai_Mundi · 5 pointsr/JapanTravel

I also fell in love with Japanese toilets. So I got one. I have the TOTO Washlet E350 I bought it on Amazon. You can buy a "Japanese toilet" that is made for American toilets. The sizes match up, and the voltage is 120. (although I didn't need an electrical adapter in Japan, and the toilet seat sizes appeared to be the same)

I had a handyman install the toilet seat. He was able to run power from the other side of the wall into the bathroom, so the toilet can plug right in there. Then he put a fitting on the water supply to split the water source. The actual toilet seat clipped right onto my existing toilet.

I don't know how many toilet sizes you have in Canada, but in the US we basically have two: a round seat and elongated seat. The actual dimensions of the toilet don't really matter here. just the seat size. Take a tape measure and figure out your dimensions, and you are set to shop. It seems that the voltage in Canada and the USA is 120 v, so that shouldn't be an issue.

If you just want something heated, it won't cost you as much as the multiple wash toilet seat. There's a price point you have to break to get the front / lady wash.

My best advice is to enjoy the toilets there, and then buy one when you get home. You won't have to transport it around Japan, worry about damage, and if you need to exchange it, you can. Also, you are more likely to get instructions in English if the toilet is manufactured for the North American market.

Best of luck and follow your toilet dreams!

u/Eziekel13 · 5 pointsr/Showerthoughts

Depends what country you are in....Japan for example the robotic bidet does most of the cleaning, you just sit their listing to music....if you are going for one at home $300-500 plus install

Sure! I have [this bidet](Brondell S1000-EW Swash 1000 Advanced Bidet Elongated Toilet Seat, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0045UB9GK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nKg5AbXEH37J7). It’s a seat you can fit on any existing toilet. We had to add a power outlet to our bathroom to do it. But that was like $300 and I did a price watch on the bidet and got it for $400 so all in for $700 and it is LIFE CHANGING. It has two washers, one for the butt and one for the cooch, you can select the temp of the water and the air, and the seat is warmed. It amazing. I’m gonna go use it now.....

I have a slightly different model than this. It heats the seat and it warms the water so you aren't splashing icy cold discomfort all over your ass.

u/iamveryniceipromise · 4 pointsr/todayilearned

Here's the one I have. Yes it is very expensive, I also had to wire an outlet right next to toilet. But now when I walk up to my toilet, the lid automatically opens. The seat is already warmed, it cleans the bowl and sprays so nothing sticks, after I'm done my ass is washed with warm water, dried with hot air, and deodorized. When I walk away it cleans itself and the bowl thoroughly again. I can't use public toilets anymore. Anything less feels like wiping with leaves in the woods.

u/TriangleMan · 3 pointsr/HomeImprovement

We just got this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UCIOWRM, and we absolutely love it. However, as the other poster said, y ou should get what's in your budget.

u/dzh · 3 pointsr/videos

So... like every Japanese toilet? They usually sell the covers for few hundred.

I like the heating part, but I did not find the spray very useful.

The drier is awful. It pushes all the odours out in your face. Yuck.

If I had my own house I'd get one though.

u/chin8999 · 3 pointsr/HomeImprovement

Think of it this way my friend: how often do you use the toilet? Isn't it also one of the most disgusting things you have to do multiple times every. single. day? Now, is that really so much money for decades of life-transforming excretion of wastes-- totally transforming the disgusting into joy-- and always having that oh-so-fresh feeling?

I don't think so! Especially since I think this is it for $936.

You will thank me later. Every single day.

Though, to be sure... the c200 is great.

u/SmallLady · 3 pointsr/BabyBumps

GET A WASHLETTE

They have these things everywhere in Japan, and after we got home from our honeymoon, I had to have one.

They are kinda pricey, but if you look around, I got mine from costco for less than $300 canadian.

You will have the cleanest and happiest asshole I promise you, and when you wipe, everything comes away clean!

It will also be great for after birth, because you can use the wash function to spray water while you pee hot lava fire.

u/jam905 · 3 pointsr/homeautomation

> Also, you have a bidet? Or has it identified something it's calling a bidet?

Spent a few months in far east (Japan/Singapore/Hong Kong) two years ago. First thing I bought when I returned was one of these. Let me just say it doesn't get 4.5 stars on Amazon for nothing!

I just recently bought a house. One of the 1st things I did was installed a new dual flush toilet and a TOTO K300 seat. This is now something I'll always have in my bathrooms. I've never felt so clean in my life afterwards.

Everybody laughed before I got it. After they try it, I am now getting asked recommendations for them.

It's never been a huge problem for me but there are models that heat the water up. They are more expensive and more complicated to install though.

Just a thought: since you are going to have a washer/dryer setup in there, maybe it would be a good idea to include a floor drain? Just in case the washer leaks, or a hose bursts? Might save you a lot of headaches one day.........

And three outlets. One on either side of the vanity, and one down low by the toilet. This will allow you to power a warm water bidet:

If the stains are bugging you, put them in a saturated black dye bath (if your cloth is cotton flannel like a lot of people, add some salt to make the dye more potent). You may have to re-dye them every year or something, but much easier than having to bleach them all the time. I generally don't use cloth toilet paper for #2, unless I feel like there's going to be minimal damage, but I do use it to wipe when I'm menstruating and when there's solids from that I rinse it before putting it in the washbag. If you're up for it, at my last home I had a bidet (this guy I think https://www.amazon.com/GenieBidet-Feminine-Attachment-Cleaning-connector/dp/B01INP9O7S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519269604&sr=8-1&keywords=genie+bidet) and that was perfect; bidet the bits away and wipe dry with a cloth. Also, it may seem zero-waste counterintuitive, but if your supply is too gross for you to be happy with you can give them a real hard clean and repurpose them for cleaning rags and make yourself some that are easier to clean. Better to be happy than to have zero waste be something making your unhappy.

u/alchemy_index · 2 pointsr/IAmA

Here's an electric one, on the lower end of the price scale since electric ones can be really fancy and get up to like $800+

Here's a really basic mechanical one.

For either type, you need to make sure that the shape/size of the bidet matches up with your toilet. Most mechanical ones are cold water only, which can be a bit uncomfortable. Some mechanical ones have a hot water hookup so you can temps but that would require additional plumbing on your end. Most electric ones use only cold water and have an electric heater in its storage tank. Some have timers/sensors. Some heat the water faster than others. Both types can be just rear (butthole) spray, or a combination rear and front (for ladies, or taint). But, the rear-only option can still be used by women for the front, with some creative maneuvering.

The Toto is pretty easy to install on your own--the hardest part is having to connect the water supply with your face/neck mashed against the wall like some kind of weirdo bathroom contortionist if your toilet's in a corner. I also recommend wall mounting the remote for corner toilets. It probably wouldn't take long to figure out where the buttons are on the side of the seat with the non-remote version, but man, would I hate pooping until I got to that point.

Japanese Toilet

Bidet, warm air dryer, heated seat, and comes with a remote. The future is here!

u/StealthSecrecy · 2 pointsr/BidetBros

Don't have a pic but I have the Bio Bidet BB-600 and it is one of the best purchases I've ever made!

I would also highly recommend getting a bidet toilet seat over just an attachment. They are a lot more expensive but the features you get are totally worth it. My favourite features are the heated water, distinct buttons for adjusting the nozzle position and pressure, and the oscillating spray which helps cover a larger area overall without you having to do anything. It also has an autonomous mode which does everything for you with the push of the button and it even has a built-in air dryer that goes with it (although it takes a really long time so I usually just end up using a few squares of TP to dry the water off.

The only downside to me is that the nozzle pressure and position reset after every use so I keep having to put them back which is kind of annoying but I suppose if multiple people use your bidet regularly it makes sense. I also can't really sit on my toilet seat lid anymore but that hasn't been a big deal to me.

Overall I'd give mine a 9/10, and would recommend others to get one.

u/FreeThinker76 · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

Something like what you linked to take water directly from the wall (the same source that fills the tank/cistern) and will be COLD.

If you really want a good experience, get one of them fancy Japanese-style bidets that warms it up first.

This is what I have at home currently. It's got an IR remote and a lot of neat features, like a massage function that oscillates the stream; a pulse function that pulses the pressure of the water; warmed seat with 3-tier temp control; water temp control and pressure control; feminine wash setting (slightly farther forward stream); air drying.

This particular model has had some minor issues for us, but nothing that would deter me from Biobidet, but maybe that particular model.

Basically, it's the wisest investment I've ever made. And Woot has them on sale regularly (at least once a month, maybe more). They're always brand new, not refurbished, and at a significant discount from the MSRP.

Quick sidenote edit: Since it has all the fancy features it requires power. We have a power strip rigged up where we live now (planning on moving soon).

u/temporaryTatoo · 2 pointsr/bidets

Doesn’t that have “plumbing” similar to what you get from these? When I was in India, there was no fancy seat. The plumbing seemed to be part of the toilet. I could be wrong. I didn’t look carefully.

Fun, thanks for hosting the scavenger hunt!

  1. Something Blue: These journals are so beautiful, and I just thought I would start the scavenger hunt out with something simple and beautiful. Is that too corny of a reason to put them on here?
  2. Summer: Summer reminds me that I will soon be in a place with sun constantly radiating down and burning my retinas. We're all gonna need some sunglasses.
  3. Unusual Food-Related Item: Kawaii Squishies are super cute, smell like freshly baked bread (or cream soda), and are shaped like foods! I had a lot of wiggle room with this category, and while I have tons of things about food in my WLs, I just think these are great to pass out to stressed friends, as well.
  4. Gift Someone Else: A Bidet for the Fiancé Kind of a silly one, but my fiancé loves bidets. I've always wanted to get him one, and so this is my ultimate "I love you" gift for him. I actually thought about getting it for him and calling it his engagement ring, in response to the one he just got me. Do you think it would make him laugh?
  5. Book!: The book Lab Girl by Hope Jahren has gotten a lot of great press, and it seems very relevant to any woman in a demanding science-related field. I think it would be an interesting, and hopefully inspiring, read.
  6. Less Than a 1$: Somehow this shampoo brush is only $.01? Is that real?
  7. Related to Dogs: I haven't owned a dog since my family's golden retriever, Max. He was such a wonderful light in our house, and I think about him a lot. I know that GSD are really smart, so I figured I'd put something a smart-alecky GSD owner might have on here. ;)
  8. Not Useful, But Awesome: I really love oracle cards. I find that they sort of get me past challenges that maybe I'm too stubborn to see for myself. I think they are a good psychological tool, but I also know most people would find them less than useful. Therefore, they are mostly just awesome, and I want them.
  9. Great Movie: I get some flak for it, but my favorite movie of all time is Coraline. I think it is just so thought-provoking and the animation is beautiful. It really has a special place in my heart.
  10. Zombies Attack!: Weirdly enough, I am in the process of creating an emergency plan and some bugout bags for my fiancé and I. It's more of a hobby than worry, but I always thought a couple of these matches would come in handy when the hammer drops.
  11. Life Goals: This one might require a little explanation. So, I just quit my career as an archaeologist to become a creative writer, and my fiancé just quit his archaeology career to become an illustrator. Together we are writing some children's books, creating a comic book series, and hosting a podcast. It has come to our attention that these endeavors require social media presence (something neither of us are very good at). Through our bumbling around, we've found that our pictures are turning out less-than-great for social media, and the problem is lighting. I think this lightbox really neat for anyone who wants to make their pictures look professional on social media.
  12. Add-Ons: Makeup Remover Cloths These are so useful, I thought about even adding them to the Zombie Apocalypse part of the Scavenger Hunt! I sometimes forget to take care of my skin. So I started leaving one of these by my nightstand just for those times when I'm too lazy (or drunk) to take my makeup off. They are lifesavers!
  13. Fandom Related: Adventure Time, come on grab your friends.... No explanation needed really. AT is amazing, and I'm sad the series is ending, but we will always have the comics!
  14. Ridiculously Priced: Okay, let's chat. This watch is over $200,000 and has 4 reveiws? 4 people bought this? Why?! If I was that rich, I'd hole up in my cool-ass movie theater and eat caviar all day. Who needs a watch for that?
  15. Shark or Unicorn: This unicorn color-changing light is on my wishlist. I want it so badly, but have no idea where I would put it. The bathroom maybe? It has to be somewhere that won't get in the way of all my other unicorn stuff. I like when people just happily stop upon a unicorn in the apartment. When they're peeing is a good time, right?
  16. Smells Great: These candles are the scents of a coffee shop and so I know everyone in my house would feel warm and welcome right when they walk in once they are lit. These are actually three of my favorite scents, so you can probably tell that I have a slight coffee-related addiction.
  17. Toy: Dixit is an amazing game. Like...I don't know how to describe it. A bunch of cards with illustrations on them need to be described by the players, and then everyone votes on which description they like the best (blindly vote). It's just a wonderful game for inspiration, and you can make it as complicated or as simple as you'd like. I really enjoy playing it with both my friends and family.
  18. Helpful for Writers: An Imaginative Workbook! I think one of the biggest things writers forget how to do is play! We spend so much time in our universe, trying to make it perfect, that sometimes we forget to just let go and have our imaginations run wild. I think workbooks like the one I just linked are perfect for when writer's block hits, or when we need a pick-me-up to remember why we started writing in the first place.
  19. Current Obsession: My current obsession has become learning how to play the ukulele. I heard on a couple of podcasts that it really boosted some people's happiness, especially if they loved music, but didn't feel like they had the time to learn to play a new instrument. I have been borrowing my neighbor's, but since I am moving soon, I've decided to purchase one from Amazon. They have tons of ukuleles on there, weirdly.
  20. Makes You Laugh: As a person who loves Wes Anderson films this coffee table book always makes me laugh.

Edit: Finished! I love scavenger hunts; it always reminds me what a weirdo I am.

Yessssss!!!!!

I got a bidet (super fancy, dryer, heated seats, heated water, remote) 4 years back and fell in love.

THEN I got pregnant and everyone is talking about a peri bottle... and I’m like you fools need to get on the bidet bandwagon!

Husband won’t admit he uses it... but I can tell on his face that he likes it after spicy meal.

I dont want to say LIFE CHANGING but man it feels great. You feel so clean... in the summer you can use cooler water and you feel refreshed. Midnight bathroom runs you are greeted with a warm seat :)

Getting ready to replace mine. it’s not heating the water any more.

Had a Brondell S1000 https://www.amazon.com/Brondell-S1000-RW-Swash-Advanced-Toilet/dp/B0045UB9HE ($600 ) and looking to replace with

Toto https://www.amazon.com/TOTO-SW3036-01-Electronic-Instantaneous/dp/B079WVTJMV because I like how you can program the user settings

Or

Toto
https://www.amazon.com/TOTO-SW2044-01-Electronic-SoftClose/dp/B00UCIOX2Q

But I don’t like how it’s not as slim as the first Toto.

$30 is a steal for the water action... but if you have room in the budget the other features are incredible!

I’m larger, so my butt would probably cover the adjustment knobs....

u/enki1337 · 2 pointsr/videos

I suppose that depends on what you consider pricey, but I don't think bidets are too cheap either. I took a very quick look, and there was a pretty impressive looking one for ~$370.

SmartBidet SB-2000 SB-2000WE Smart Electric Bidet Seat https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GIODM6G

Have had this one for 3 years now. Made in Korea, which is as good as Made in Japan but not as pricey.

u/bannakafalata · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

Ah, so you have a TOTO S550e

u/flatcurve · 2 pointsr/todayilearned

Yes. You want to search for either "Electronic Toilet Seat" or "Advanced Bidet Toilet Seat" or "washlet.' There's a range. Fair warning: They're typically not cheap. I got this one at Costco for $200 a few years ago, which is definitely on the low side for one of those, especially with that feature set. It's not available anymore though. A comparable model could be about $400-$500. This one is reasonably priced at $250, but it doesn't have an air dryer feature like the intelliseat. I also had an opportunity to use this one when I was in Japan, and it gets a nod of approval.

It seems like a lot to spend, but as others have said, once you get accustomed to it, you realize it's worth every penny.

u/I_autocross_a_Buick · 2 pointsr/keto

Amazon has them. This is the one I bought, but there are cheaper ones.

u/KerNil · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

>Can you link the heated seat/bidet?

My seat is a Toto, too. This is the model in question: TOTO Washlet C100 Elongated Bidet Toilet Seat (SW2034#01).

Looking at its spec sheet:

>Power Rating: AC 120V-60Hz, 406W

So, if my math is correct, it draws 3.4 amps.

Here are all the items on my second-floor circuits. (My house was built in 1990, so I guess codes regarding circuits have changed a lot since then.) These 4 circuits are accessible in the attic.

Despite how crowded everything looks on my second-floor circuits, I have never had issues with a circuit tripping. While X number of receptacles may sound like a lot, the majority of the receptacles on the second floor have nothing plugged into them.

My bathroom fan draws 0.24 A.

Assuming that every light is turned on, and each bulb is 40 watts, Circuit 16 would have 480W (40*(2+5+1+1+1+2) = 480) and thus 4A of draw for lighting. Keep in mind, I am increasingly moving to LED bulbs, which obviously use much less than 40W each.

>How difficult is it to add another circuit from the panel?

I would say it is fairly difficult. I would not feel comfortable adding a new circuit myself, so I'd have to pay an electrician for this.

My seat/bidet isn't 12A (!), so am I still pushing my luck if I add 3.4 A to the existing circuit (#16)?

I guess it all comes down to the unpredictable variable of whether another high-draw item is potentially plugged into a receptacle on this circuit...

If you are a home-owner, DO NOT use "flushable" wipes, because they aren't as flushable as they would like you to believe. I think I helped buy the plumber a boat getting those things out of my house's pipes a few years ago.

As for the bidet, they don't spray shit-water. The water sprayed is fresh water, not recycled from the bowl. At least the one I installed does. A retractable spray 'wand' extends from the device to begin the process. I was VERY skeptical of it at first (it was my wife's idea) but having witnessed the results, I will definitely always own one.

Well worth the money. http://www.amazon.com/Brondell-S900-EW-Advanced-Elongated-Toilet/dp/B0045UB9FQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen-bath&ie=UTF8&qid=1415228002&sr=1-4&keywords=bidet

u/MikeOSecret · 2 pointsr/TooAfraidToAsk

Softer, fattier stool can be a factor in cleanup, as can hair. If it's taking this long, you may want to invest in a bidet attachment for your toilet. They're not particularly expensive or hard to install, as long as you're careful and make sure to turn the water off beforehand.

https://www.amazon.com/Simplet-Non-Electric-Mechanical-Toilet-Attachment/dp/B00FX1D55I/

This'll shoot some water up your backend, which you then wipe dry with a cloth you keep nearby. The cloth shouldn't be doing any of the cleaning, just the water.

What toilet seat? Some BioBidet models have slow-closers.

And for all I know, the Brondell may even close automatically. It does seem that sophisticated!

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/nsfw

So I my roommates moved in before me and set everything up. I walk into the bathroom and see This. This is the pride and joy my roommates were telling me about.

u/Dorkamundo · 2 pointsr/videos

Room for one?

They make versions that are simply toilet seat replacements.

https://www.amazon.com/Brondell-S1000-EW-Advanced-Elongated-Toilet/dp/B0045UB9GK

Pricey for a toilet seat, to be sure, but well worth the money. You can usually find this model on sale for closer to $400 if you are patient.

There are other cheaper models that don't have features like heated seats, a remote, inline heaters and self-sanitizing nozzles; but those last two options are pretty much a must-have.

The inline heater is great if you live in cold regions, as cold water on the cornhole isn't that much fun and nobody really wants to have to clean the nozzle themselves.

u/Fairuse · 2 pointsr/gadgets

I have one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009IJ2NBI/sr=1-1/qid=1482552443/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=&qid=1482552443&sr=1-1

One major flaw is that the toilet cover comes down to quick. I usually hover over the toilet as I wipe (who has time to wait for the air dryer), and the cover will hit me on my 3rd wipe.

Also, I wished the spray wand would go further back (has 5 settings and 3 of the 5 basically just sprays my balls).

Also, the motion sensor is way to fucking sensitive. Constantly popping up the lid and spraying the toilet rim every time I enter the bathroom.

u/NightGod · 2 pointsr/videos

This is the one I use at home and have for the past six years. Though this appears to be the same except colored blue and white vs just white and it's 7 bucks cheaper.

If you just search amazon for bidet, there are tons of options, from the basic one that I link above to ones that use front and back warm water, blow dry you, spray fragrance and have a remote control (and also cost $600 O_o).

u/Fap_Left_Surf_Right · 2 pointsr/yourmomshousepodcast

I have the other brand of this same model, the Bio Bidet

I can confirm everything you say. People who use it are really excited about how well it performs and couldn't believe the cost.

Cold water is a downside but you will get used to it.

Try it out.

u/Live_Positive · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

Had that one for almost 4 years before it started leaking everywhere. Was about to order another one but ended up with this, which doesn't have hot water but imo works a lot better and doesn't make your seat squeak as much.

u/creativedabbler · 2 pointsr/mildlyinteresting

I’d be happy to offer you guidance on your journey into the amazing world of bidets.

I started out with this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00A0RHSJO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1523776662&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=bidet&dpPl=1&dpID=419LXSZM6YL&ref=plSrch

It’s an awesome bidet and does the job perfectly, is super easy to install and for $35 you can’t go wrong.

However about six months ago I decided to splurge and get the king of all bidets, the Toto Washlet:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00UCIOWRM/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523776789&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=toto+washlet&dpPl=1&dpID=31uvbuDPUAL&ref=plSrch

It’s expensive but worth it; the water is heated, it has different speeds and the nozzle can move back and forth, and the best part is that it dries your butt afterwards, which is amazing.

One thing about bidets though—for us guys, unless you don’t mind your balls being sprayed with water, it is kind of necessary to make sure they’re out of the way, or figure out a position where the water doesn’t hit them.

u/raccoonsinthecar · 2 pointsr/AskAnAmerican

My husband got this one. Until this question I did not know the damn thing was a thousand bucks.

I really don't have the need but can see that a guy might like it.

It is in his bathroom but I have used it just for the warm seat. That feature is pretty sweet!

u/imnotgoodwithnames · 1 pointr/Harmontown

Like /u/spokeydokey said. A simple bidet seat is 30 bucks and totally worth it. We eventually replaced our cheap one with a bio bidet 1000 when the sprayer started leaking cause we loved it so much. It just makes sitting g on toilet with phone just that much more enjoyable.

You can buy a Japanese toilet seat and install it, keeping the standard toilet seat stored somewhere. You can then put the normal toilet seat back on when it's time to move and take your Japanese seat with you. The hard part is getting power to the seat (for the warmed water, air dry, warmed seat, etc.).

We recently built a house and had them put plugs by every toilet. After they were done, we bought the seats on Amazon and installed them ourselves. We went with a particularly nice version, but there are others that are less expensive.

Apparently someone who didn't know there's a limited choice in TV nowadays.

I haven't bought a new TV in over a decade. Mostly because I was always broke and moving around. Didn't make financial sense to own a nice TV if my next place may not have space for it and the logistics to move it cross-country wasn't appealing.

Now that I'm actually financially stable, I don't think I want a TV. I could spend the money on a new fridge or super toilet seat.

Lol good practice for what? I'm 29, working my dream job, married my best friend, and get to basically do what I want when I want. I have my own routines for sure, they just don't include making my bed.

Ain't no way I'm having cold water shot into my cornhole lol got it off amazon.

If you guys have never tried a TOTO toilet seat/bidet you haven t lived fully. ALL the friends who have come to our house for diner have bought one after trying it.

You use only about 1/4 of the amount of paper you would normally use and you get your butt hole washed with warm water on a heated seat.

EDIT: We have a better model but we started with this one that has a remote https://www.amazon.com/TOTO-SW2044-01-Electronic-SoftClose/dp/B00UCIOX2Q/
