Another interesting one from Gondry is the video of Star Guitar by The Chemical Brothers.

This is a long shot, but you might be thinking about Fat Boy Slim - Essential Millenium. Although if I'm not mistaken that opening track samples Walter Wanderley - Summer Samba, rather than Astrud Gilbreto.


That or it could be the Fat Boy Slim / Paul Oakenfold collaberation Essential Selection. Who knows.

They are a popular band and they repress that record all the time. Amazon is pretty sweet for records if you are a student. You can sign up for the student advantage account or whatever that is called so a lot of vinyl is free two day shipping.

• This year I rediscovered Prodigy. I had pretty much given up on them after "Smack My Bitch Up", which is like 12 years ago, and this year's "Invaders Must Die" and "Take Me To The Hospital" were not to convince me otherwise. But thanks to my nephew I found their album from 2003, "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned", which is really good, especially "Hot Ride", "Medusa's Path" and "More Girls" (the best song is a bonus track, so not all prints include it(!!!)).

Oh i'm old enough. I'll agree that while , at the time, It would have easily be considered the greatest trance mix, I think that quite a few mixes beat it in the 1996-2002 years, namely the above mentioned (sash and dig, oakenfold) and I would also say:

And probably -James Holden - Fear of a Silver Planet
