So there are a lot more vapcap owners after 420 sales. My first couple weeks with the vapcap sucked because my lighters sucked. I want you to have a better experience! One of my biggest issues with the vapcap when i first got it was all the shitty failing lighters, i must have tried close to 10 different ones before i found some that i liked..err found some that didn't shit the bed on me.

Scorch Torch Skyline Triple Jet

Remember to purchase good butane too! Colibri has been serving me well. I like vector as well but i buy that at my local smoke shop. A lot cheaper there.

u/Improvaper · 7 pointsr/vaporents

Ok, $170... here is how I would break it down for a first-timer:

2019 Dynavap M ... $60 direct

Grindhouse Shift ... $60 new on eBay

Fury2 WPA ... $13 shipped with PUFFEDUP code at PIU

This torch https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CYW8FZ5/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 :$20

Enough quality Butane to last a looong time: https://www.amazon.com/Colibri-Premium-Butane-Refill-Lighter/dp/B005ME902S/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=butane&qid=1555346654&s=hpc&sr=1-5 ... $12

Then you can get a cup of coffee with your leftover $5.

Later down the road if you can scrounge up another $30, make a cheap induction heater for the Dynavap. It's easy and they're awesome. Ask me for simple instructions if you want.

I use shatter from Muv...

I use a 12" beaker from TAG https://www.thickassglass.com/ ... I got mine in a subscription box for $60...

I use this quartz banger (without the insert) https://www.dhgate.com/product/25mm-xl-flat-top-quartz-banger-phat-bottom/404808110.html

And I use this torch: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0713WT2N9/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this butane https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ME902S/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am going to put in a vote for a Sticky Brick. I own and love both devices, and the reason I'm going for the Brick is because the way it's used is more reminiscent of smoking. It feels like you're smoking out of a bowl.

Also, when it comes to "Fast and hard hitting", both devices are exactly that, but the Brick can vape faster and hit harder, relatively speaking.

Lastly, if at any point the sesh has more than one person, the Brick is, in my opinion, the only option. Vapcaps are a very personal experience, due to bowl size.

My torch recommendation is this: Eagle Torch
It is Prime eligible as well. I hope you find a vape that prevents your mother from smoking.

Edit: Forgot to recommend some butane: Colibri This is also Prime eligible.

Do us all a a favor, yourself included, and buy a pack of clippers on amazon!! You can then:

Replace the flint easily and at will

Refill with butane at your leisure

Use it to pack down your bowls or to line up your j grinds

Generally save your hard-earned cash

Be winning at life instead of buying tons of lighters

etc

cheers ;)

Here's the link

Also, I dont know how finicky these are with types of butane. A guy on r/cigars mentioned that he had been smoking cigars for 25 years and had tried all sorts of butane. He uses Newport Butane It's cheaper to buy this stuff 2-4 cans at a time. Usually the more you order (at least on amazon) the better the deal. Pure butane wont clog the lighter like some cheaper butane can.

And please search youtube for how to properly fill and un-fill butane lighters.

Lastly a tip I found on the packaging before throwing it away: Do not press the ignition switch hard and fast, just gradually push it. I was having to press the button 1-2 times to get it to start but since Ive started pressing it softer, it lights on the first shot each time. The best way I can think to explain it is to press it as if you were really tired and relaxed. You'll hear the gas release about 1/8 of a second little before the button clicks.

Also the flame is adjustable. The pic shows a medium flame.

neon 11x..this little store has it right up the road for like 3.50 a can.

This stuff: Neon 11x Refined Butane Gas 300ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNS4GFW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uLKZAbV9S085K

u/thelastfolksinger · 3 pointsr/trees

It needs compressed butane. You can buy a little can of the stuff at many convenience stores/smokeshops/headshops/gas stations. The small circle on the bottom of the lighter (in that first pic) is where you put it in. This is how the pros do it.

u/JohnIwamura · 3 pointsr/vaporents

Butane burns into Carbon dioxide and water vapor. Nothing to worry about, as long as you get good stuff. Here's what I've been using, and here's a list.

u/krdshrk · 3 pointsr/cigars

Yep - more impurities = poor performance. Go for the better stuff. I use Colibri butane, myself - no issues.

u/arrjaytea · 2 pointsr/vaporents

I use Colibri butane. Has worked quite well for me and is readily available at the cigar shop down the street from our office.

u/A_Small_Grey_Stone · 2 pointsr/vaporents

Dynavap sells a few torches, like this one It has 3 flames. Many people prefer a torch with only a single flame, like these They tend to be more reliable,
and can provide bigger hits due to higher bowl temperatures.

As for fuel (the butane itself), higher quality fuel is recommended as it leaves no taste and won't clog up your lighters.

One can will refill a lighter about 20 times, depending on how big the lighter is. I've found that a full lighter last me days of heavy usage.

I TRY to be as safe as possible, WAY AWAY from our grill lol and lots of fresh air and try to purge it real fast at first w everclear and hot water bath. Then wait like 2-3 hours loosely covered so outside shit doesn't contaminate until I bring it inside. I TRY to be as safe as I can, but I know the inherent risks of using butane as a solvent.

So you wouldn't use cans?
What would you recommend as a solvent to wash/blast thru the bud??

This is the butane I usually use:

I've used this stuff in a few torches. Seems to work well and doesn't clog em.

Here is a quick primer on lighting and cutting methods

Lighting

Matches

Let the sulfur burn off for a few seconds before attempting a light

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005MBHFJG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f4aYAb3ZHW2YM

Lighter

A Bic works, so does your Zippo. Butane is the favorite as it avoids imparting fuel flavor.

Here is that insert: http://r.ebay.com/fAryec

Here is the fuel. Cheaper stuff works, but this won't clog your lighter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G5IPKIS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0QaYAbF4CSGG8

Cedar Spills

This is the purist's prefered lighting method. You look and feel cool doing it, and the cedar provides a pleasant aroma.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XTWNWYW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_9YaYAbTGKC6DR

Cutting

Guillotine/Straight Cutter

Most popular method, don't skip out on cutters so you don't destroy your cigar with dull blades. Anything $5 and up is great.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RPOEMJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_d6aYAb4481ZS9

Punch Cutter

Provides a tighter draw and focuses the smoke to a smaller area. Not for everyone, preferred by some.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0141KENXE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_x7aYAbAXG2QHG

V Cutter

Cuts a valley straight across the head of the cigar. Tighter draw than a straight cutter, more open than a punch.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H9HTXHS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_R8aYAbWE8SEE4

All 3

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017C2UUIA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_G9aYAbNY4KTRT

Cigar Scissors

This method (arguably) gives the most accurate cut since you can see what you're doing easier.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074K2WZH4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_n.aYAbADYBXRS

u/witchdagger · 2 pointsr/vaporents

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005ME902S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JmJdzbZRXZ9J2

This lasts me about 5 or 6 months depending on my use.

u/Tobaccolade · 2 pointsr/cigars

This is super cheap...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0161O3BP4/

... and yeah it unfortunately looks like something you'd use for smoking crack, but it's great for lighting cigars.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003IR1PGU/

This butane has worked very well for me - lasts a long time too.

I find use matches to be infuriating matches unless I'm inside somewhere with no breeze, or it's a small cheroot or other very small cigar.

u/pipeweed · 2 pointsr/PipeTobacco

Yeah, just anything like this.

u/bugbox88 · 1 pointr/CannabisExtracts

i always order this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003IR1PGU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but my friend seems to think whatever the cheapest option they have at home depot will work all the same. i'm pretty sure i've read that using cheap tane will lead to a less clean and powerful flame and can cause your torch to sputter more. but that doesn't exactly sound like a solid answer so i figured i'd ask you guys

u/OGShua · 1 pointr/cigars

Most B&Ms carry Xikar, however, I just tend to buy from Amazon.

u/nvrgoingbackfrompax · 1 pointr/vaporents

This is what I've been using for my VapCap:
https://www.amazon.com/Colibri-Premium-Butane-Refill-Lighter/dp/B005ME902S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481781192&sr=8-1&keywords=colibri+butane

High quality butane and free 2 day shipping if you have prime (or know someone with prime)

u/Doobitron · 1 pointr/Dynavap

Grab an order of these
https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Lighter-Windproof-Refillable-Assorted/dp/B0776NN1CD

And this
https://www.amazon.com/Butane-Refill-Fluid-Lighter-Refined/dp/B07MTPXV21

Also this to clean the condenser and tip
https://www.amazon.com/Bundles-Pipe-Cleaners-Bristle-Count/dp/B000W5R6UA

Always confirm the cooldown click to avoid combusting. Try leaving the airport open the whole time. You'll find that you dont really need to file grooves. Plus the vapor is WAY smoother.

u/benigma21 · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

Try a canned refill like these http://www.amazon.com/Blazer-Butane-Refill-6-canisters/dp/B000IADCMA

I use those to refill butane lighters.

u/Dicket · 1 pointr/vaporents

>Is there any way to remove some of the blackness from the cap?

That's normal when using a regular lighter and cleans off fairly easy. You can use a little soap and water, an iso soak (Edit: Apparently you shouldn't soak the cap in iso. Noted.), if it's hot you can even just wipe it clean. Or you can just say screw it and burn it all off with your butane torch once the new one comes in (That's what I did). Takes a couple days at 2-3 sessions a day but it comes off on it's own that way.

>Also if anyone has a recommendation for butane that won't ruin my torch that would be greatly appreciated.

Ronson. $9 for 2 medium sized cans. Should last you a while and it's good stuff that doesn't gunk up your torches. No need to buy that $20/bottle crap. It's not better in any way, it's just a massive premium for a nicer looking can.

u/In_Dying_Arms · 1 pointr/CarAV

This is my personal preference.

u/HikeSkiHiphop · 1 pointr/Dynavap

I use Vector fuel it’s 5 times refined. Quality stuff.

u/deagesntwizzles · 1 pointr/lighters

You just need to use a fuel adapter. It uses an old style needle valve.

Newport Gas (as well as several other butanes) come with a bunch of little plastic adapters in the cap:

https://www.amazon.com/Newport-300ml-Purified-Butane-Impurities/dp/B00GMPCBHC

The red adapter will let you fill the lighter.

u/SimianSlacker · 1 pointr/Dynavap

I just got this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074BCLPN3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it's been pretty awesome. My second favorite is the Vertigo Cyclone II and third is my Vertigo insert for my Zippo. The butane quality makes a big difference, here is the stuff I've been using and had no issues: https://www.amazon.com/Colibri-Premium-Butane-Refill-Lighter/dp/B005ME902S/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1537313074&sr=1-4&keywords=colibri+butane+fuel

I think there is a chart on FC that has different butane and their quality, Ronson is probably the worst.

I have tried the Xikar fuel and it's better than some, but not as good as my current favorite, Newport Zero. I got it for a good price (4 pack) online.

What I like about this fuel is that I get no sputtering when fuel level is low.

I don't own any what I would call premium lighters, but they seem to run well on this stuff.
