The 80-hour version was posted on Reddit back June last year. I thought that it looked cool enough to risk $30 (thanks Amazon Prime!).

It's not that great really. It's like having a small 1" candle that burns and then goes out automatically (maybe an hour or so later) when it gets down to the metal holder. Then you have to mess with it to feed
more though.

It's the sort of thing that would be handy in a power outage, which is why I kept mine. I prefer either tea lights or regular taper candles for romantic dining.

Now $27.01:

Edit: The wax hasn't dripped on the coil for me and I've probably used it for 8+ hours. I may just be lucky though.

  1. Pick a color or two that you like. This could be bold or subtle. Two different shades of the same color or contrasting colors. (for the sake of this discussion, lets go with blue as a starting point)

  2. Put at least two colorful or patterned pillows on the couch. Examples: 1, 2

  3. Get some plants. Maybe one for the dining table, one for the coffee table, one on the tv stand by the window, and one for the floor in one of the corners by the couch. Possibly use a modern looking plant stand, example: 1

  4. Get some art on the walls. Simple geometric or organic looking prints or maybe a wall hanging. One above the dining table, one above the couch, maybe one on the wall next to the couch that is part of the kitchen. Some examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

  5. Optional, but a nicknack or two could be helpful to make the place look more personal and lived in (but some people like the more clean/minimalist look). Examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

You could also mess around with maybe a side table to the couch with a fancy lamp/fancy floor lamps. You could also exchange the blanket for a chunky knit or fur one for more texture.

I got something for that newly promoted Staff Sergeant, something for that soon to be divorced Sergeant, something for that Specialist(P) who seems to have everything, an old favorite for that 10-year SPC-4 who is considering yet another meaningless renlistment, something for that crazy stripper with the huge boobs you really shouldn't have fucked when you were on read-D, and something for the 92G who needs to be reminded of their daily shame (fuck cooks).

I found it on Amazon after seeing it in a photo.

u/codece · 5 pointsr/whatisthisthing

Agree. Maybe? These are cool (you can still buy them) because they are self-extinguishing and burn for a predictable amount of time depending on how many inches of candle rope you unwound.

These were also used as "courting candles." When a young gentleman came to call upon your daughter, you'd unwind maybe an hour or two of candle and light it. When the candle goes out, time for the suitor to go home.

modern one for sale on Amazon

*EDIT: I dunno actually, I think /u/TWFM may have a match with "wax jack"

u/CRAK_ · 4 pointsr/hmmm

I gotchu fam.

Pricey though.

u/tinichick · 3 pointsr/witchcraft

I know Amazon is dickish but these candles are a steal and you'll have an array of colors to choose from. You could also make your own candles, which is pretty cheap if I remember correctly.

u/Pfffffbro · 3 pointsr/Vive

The next big thing is this:

And I already ordered one.

For candles; Amazon might be a good idea for example, here it sells 40 different colored candles for 16$ and reviews look great!

I highly recommend making your own incenses, oils, powders, tinctures etc. Those things are very likely to be a fraud since you don't really know what they put in them. But if you must, at least in oils, buy the ones that contain herbs in it's bottle.

EDIT: If you want to know how to make your own supplies, this is how I do it:

  • For oils, theres two different techniques. For making really quick ones, heat any carrier oil in benmari style. Add powdered herbs in it and leave it like that for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then, filter all herbs, add new ones to the oil and heat it for another 30 minutes, then just bottle it, you can leave herbs in it. Other technique is cold brewing, it takes less effort yet more time. For that, put herbs in oil, leave it for 3 days and then again shake and filter it, and add new herbs. After you have finished (for both methods) pray over the oil, or even perform an elaborate consecration ritual on it. You can add balm of gilead oil, Vitamin E tablets and/or tincture of benzoin to make it last longer.

  • Powders are pretty easy, gather all dried ingredients and put it to a coffee grinder, then again pray over it and it is done. I give instructions on powders because it pretty much the main ingredient for everything.

  • You can use powders instead of incense if you have a charcoal incense burner. If you don't, sprinkle some water on them to make a paste, then fashion it to a little cone shape and put it next to window so they will dry up. You can light the pointy side of it, and then blow to make smoke.
u/JZ_TwitchDeck · 3 pointsr/PSVR

You mean these bad boys?

I can see Todd Howard presenting this on stage. “It just smells.”

This is an interesting idea for more immersion though. I was thinking of the candle more as a visual element. Forgive me, I’m not completely over my turkey coma.

I'm going to go with /u/cheeseburger_humper and say that I think everyone needs a lovely birthday cake scented candle. Because you know, nothing cheers people up more than the smell of birthday cake. Ok, not true but it's in the top 10.

I don't need double talk, I need a veggie peeler since I've been using a sharp knife and tend to nick myself from time to time. And blood on the peeled veggies isn't really up to code, you know. :(

Thank you for the contest.

Okay, if I'm breaking the rules, then just ignore this post. But personally what I would do is just totally pamper myself!!! Since you totally deserve it, if you so choose, here's a step by step process approved by yours truly :b

  1. Pick a good book! Something along the lines of [this] ( (which I was ogling at the store, so you'll have to tell me how it is whenever you read it!) or even [this] ( which is personally one of my favorite books ever.

Got a book? Perfect! You may proceed.

  2. Draw yourself a bath with these [awesome bath bombs and soaps] ( and lather it up, soak it up, and relax yo'self while reading your book that you chose in step 1.

  3. Probably should be labeled as step number two, but to help set the ambiance, don't forget about the [candles!] (

  4. Last, but most certainly not least! Finish off your relaxing pampering sesh with [a beautiful mani] (, and don't forget to [clean up afterwards!] (

I would greatly appreciate [skyfall] ( to add to my James Bond collection/ Movie collection and enjoy for a romantic date night at home! woop-di-woop !!

    Thanks for doing this contest!

YAY FOR GETTING THE JOB!! :D :D :D I'm so pleased for you!

Erm, I hope its allowed, but I'd like to suggest you get yourself a couple of things - so that it is a really big treat and celebration of your job! xD

Firstly, this mirror So you can check you look absolutely awesome before heading of to your new job!

Then, these so that you can get home and take a relaxing bath..

This candle to burn in the bathroom (and anywhere else in your new flat!) to give off a yummy smell and while you take a nice bath, help you relax! :D

Finally, a used copy (to keep things under £40) of this book to help you indulge in relaxation properly and escape in an enjoyable fashion while you celebrate! Its not a top-notch novel that will expand your mind - but he's a great author for a cheeky read in the bath :) and we all need a good romance novel now and again!

aaaaand, no gifts for me necessary! I just wanted to suggest some nice things for you to get yourself! :D

Congrats again on the job! <3

There's this

u/Skeeders · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

So I literally googled your request and came up with this list of lighting options in a black out. Regarding candles, the article listed this candle that seems pretty legit. Its more on the expensive side, but it seems to have that brightness (as well as safety) factor you are looking for. Hope this helps!

u/obsessedgamer13 · 1 pointr/PSVR

They do have an official Skyrim VR candle

Edit: Its expensive and the couple reviews it does have arent very convincing but it definately exists.

u/CalurinStend · 1 pointr/PSVR

SKyrim was recently released on the candle:

I have a bunch of awesome stuff you may not have considered:

u/whatalala · 1 pointr/aspergirls

A tobacco scented candle. It's this brand

u/lorelle13 · 1 pointr/fragrance

(26 F) I am looking for a perfume or cologne similar to this Warm Tobacco Pipe candle I recently purchased. It's a soft, warm tobacco scent with a tiny bit of vanilla. I don't really know how to describe it, but I think it's such a perfect scent and would love to find something similar I can wear.

u/GodEmpress1138 · 1 pointr/sex

You can use tea candles, you just need something to hold them because the metal gets really hot. Like a thick glove or something. Just test them out on like, your arm before you use them for sex.

I really enjoy the wax on my stomach, breasts (especially nipples), collarbones, and thighs. I'm not a fan of it anywhere near my groin because I don't do a good job of maintaining my pubic hair, and wax and hair equals obnoxious and painful.

There can totally be a game involved if that's your thing. If you're blindfolded and tied down, you can't tell where the wax is going to fall next, so sometimes my partner will run her hands over one area of my body, which like makes me think she's going to wax me there, but then I'll feel it dripping somewhere else completely. The surprise is part of the fun. Or sometimes she'll pour just a very tiny bit and stop. I can feel it cooling on my skin, and sometimes she blows on it to help it harden. Its a very unusual sensation, hard to describe.

Its a good way to get warmed up (har har) for more "serious" sex.

u/MyNameIsNeal · 1 pointr/funny

I LOVE THAT CANDLE. Honestly, if you want your room to smell like FUCKING AMAZING and are thinking about getting a candle while you are at it, DO IT!

u/Roisiny · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I don't really have anything ancient because I re-do my wishlists every few months. As a result this candle is the oldest from April 14th.

u/faithface · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I'm gonna say this is pretty ridiculous, along with this and this
