I believe this is the urn we got for Jake. He was a black cat and it kinda looked like him. Honestly it's really nice looking. Just kinda looks like a cat statue. If it wasn't for the collar it would just look like a decoration.

I did this for my sister when our 15 year old cat died of cancer about 2 years ago. It brought her more comfort than the traditional means of just putting cat down and leaving it behind at the vets office to be taken care of. She now has it on a shelf in her room to always have.
You could also have a really nice picture of kitty framed for him.

Also, if bet isn’t certain it’s cancer (vet should know my X-rays) you could get more opinions. It could be something treatable.

When the cat dies, get the cat cremated and put some ashes in a charm for a necklace/keychain/bracelet like this

Obviously this one is for a dog but I'm sure you can find one for a cat.

That would get mad points for my husband if he did this without me asking.

I doubt they will have the cat to do this but, the idea is the same.

Maybe find some paw prints the cat left in the mud and make a mold.

I also suggestion making a donation in their name to a local shelter.

I would like something like this, but I really don’t like the divets in the head of this one for the eyes. It makes it look goofy/cartoonish.

I lost my best friend a little over a month ago. Cupcake passed away in my lap. Cancer is a bitch :(
I had him since I was 3, and he lived 13 years. Remember that grief is different for everyone. I was worried because I didn't feel sad for the first few days. Then I was really sad, and cried a lot. Now it comes in waves. I'm very very sorry for you. It really sucks losing a pet you were so close to.
