If I’m not wrong
I just bought one of these and I love it. Here is a picture of it in my house for a size reference.
Here is part of a review that someone wrote explaining the space you have.
Storage capacity (MAX):
Note: The above numbers assume that you're using basic CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays (no box sets, etc.). Keep this in mind when figuring out whether or not this will be large enough to hold you current (and future) collection.
I use these.
It's worked really well for me the last couple of years. They make smaller sizes as well.
Looks like these maybe?

Very pleased with these. Will be buying more when I run out of space on the current one I just bought.
Amazon!
I bought this which is small enough to fit on the floor behind the front seats. A lot of the CDs I bought came in those paper/cardboard cases instead of plastic jewel cases, which is why I’m able to fit more than 40 in the box.
I use these now. They have a nice weight to them and are stable. Little more $$$ though.
You can (and should) also anchor them too the wall, if you haven't already. I have one set left similar to yours and I ended up needing to that to be able to sleep at night.
Thank you!
The two smaller units on the right are $20 media shelves from Wal-Mart. I can't remember exactly who makes the larger one, but I'm pretty sure I got it from Amazon...I'll see if I can find a link for you. It's definitely worth whatever I paid for it.
Edit: I'm almost certain that this is the one. Looks like they've got different sizes as well
Two of these stacked - https://www.amazon.com/Stackable-Clear-Plastic-CD-Holder/dp/B0000E1VRT/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1550270980&sr=8-11&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=cd+shelf&dpPl=1&dpID=51q433JYVJL&ref=plSrch
Base shelf is this. Everything else is heavy customization.
I also just found this right now if you want to go bigger.
Amiibo are roughly 2/3 the height of a CD case, so any shelving designed for holding CDs usually holds amiibo pretty good.
Prepac Triple Width Wall Storage Cabinet, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001KW0BGU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4u05BbDW3XNT1
They sure do! https://www.amazon.com/Prepac-Four-Sided-Spinning-Storage-Espresso/dp/B005484N56/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541817704&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=large+media+rotating&dpPl=1&dpID=41L7YjwUvJL&ref=plSrch
So I have the larger version of this but I couldn't find the listing. Maybe its been discontinued. I keep most of my collection in my living room and you can fit ALOT of stuff in that for such a low profile if you only open the doors at a 90 degree angle. Plus, if you're entertaining guests it can be inconspicuous and not look like you are a video game hoarder. (even though I am. hahah!) I will say its show its age over the years though.
edit: Found it
This is what you want. Correct depth for games, no wasted space.

Thanks! The media shelves are bought from amazon
If you want to remain in that space there, I would recommend one of these two (the OSKAR stuff is a bit of a pain but the price and depth are good).
If you want to maintain your current depth, you can search for 3-tier or 4-tier bookcases on Amazon or wherever. If you want something a little larger and nicer, I would recommend these shelves - the depth is awesome for games but there is not a ton of room on the top for your other stuff.
I would also recommend some of these sweet end labels for your N64 games! - https://www.etsy.com/listing/196193603/nintendo-n64-cartridge-spine-top-end?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=n64%20labels&ref=sr_gallery-1-2
the shelves are fine but there are models out there that aren't so deep and the height of each section better fits a dvd sized case. check out the prepac models... really good fit with adjustable shelving in case you collect for other retro consoles.

Thanks! Got the shelves on amazon, I believe it was this one. One minor gripe is the trim overlaps, which makes it a little difficult to get at the games at the ends.
I got the mk cabinet at walmart, arcade1up makes them. Eventually i plan on building a riser for it cause the one they sell is still kinda short.
This is the one. Currently $222.

usually if a disc is rotten, it's unreadable throughout
if you just worry about a scratch, bad spot, ... you could just store several copies of your file on it
rot (from air) usually goes from outside in, so it affects the end of the disc first, so storing "just" 50MB is fine
rot (from sunlight) is everywhere, nothing will help you
DVDs last very long (I have 10+ years old discs that still read fine) if stored properly (not exposed to light or air, not bent or tossed as that damages the outer seal)... basically as long as you put them in a closed cupboard/drawer you're more or less fine, these open-air cd cases on the other hand are shit (e.g. don't use this https://www.amazon.com/Stackable-Clear-Plastic-CD-Holder/dp/B0000E1VRT - at least not out in the open - may be fine for commercial CD collection but not burned discs)
If you rely on DVD as a backup, and that's fine (besides tapes, it's the only thing that survives when the PSU blows a fuse), even if just for the most important data - expect to re-new every few years anyhow
----
> I feel that surely almost every DVD will be able to have 2% of it's data readable in 200 years if kept under not terrible conditions, right?
I don't think so. Well, the M-Disc makes such promise (which I don't believe), but regular ... no way. 10 years okay, 100 years nope, 200 years you're dreaming
point is, 10 years is good enough already. just make more copies
I dont think this is the same as OPs but its the same idea.

It’s been so long ago since I bought them. This is the 2nd one I’ve bought, the first one was better built than this one. But this one is fully customizable where the first one I got had 6 shelves that are permanent.
This link is to the 2nd one I bought (it is the one pictured here)
https://www.amazon.com/Prepac-Width-Storage-Cabinet-Black/dp/B001KW0BDI/ref=pd_sbs_196_6/141-2816934-2344453?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001KW0BDI&pd_rd_r=5abea51f-6cf0-4288-9caf-9081204d74b3&pd_rd_w=f7MRJ&pd_rd_wg=jPutW&pf_rd_p=52b7592c-2dc9-4ac6-84d4-4bda6360045e&pf_rd_r=8WGM8HSZ4M32JA6AJECE&psc=1&refRID=8WGM8HSZ4M32JA6AJECE
Like I said above though it’s not as sturdy as the original one was, but I still love it and will buy it again when I get enough next gen games.
I've got one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Triple-Width-Wall-Storage/dp/B001KW0BGU/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&qid=1453311949&sr=8-24&keywords=blu+ray+storage
And two smaller, homemade shelving units holding my collection. The linked piece is about the quality you expect from these sort of things, but it does hold a decent amount especially if you're thinking of eventually doubling your current number. The other issue you need to consider is how many Blus/HD-DVDs vs. DVDs you're holding. Adjustable shelves are a must for mixed collections.

WHEW. That took way longer than I thought it would but I think I found everything but what your name is! Thanks for the contest, I had a blast!
Got it right here!
I used this case, though it appears to be out of stock for Amazon Prime. I then used 3M strips to attach this USB 3.0 hub to the top of the power supply. The PSU had a couple of Molex plugs and I took the 12V and Ground wire and used some electrical twist caps to attach the 2 wires coming from the USB DC jack to the PSU. I then used this panel mount to go from the USB hub to the rear of the box then used that to connect to the computer.
To connect the 5.25" devices I used these and these. Though keep in mind, that particular USB to Sata adapter doesn't work for optical drives for some reason but it works for hot swap. Oh and I also replaced the 80mm fan in the case with a quieter one and a low noise adapter left over from a Noctua fan.
If you have any questions about how I did it feel free to ask! The only odd thing I have found is that if I try to power on the computer with the box turned on, sometimes I just get a black screen. If I turn the box off (it has a power switch on the front) and then turn the computer on it works fine. I wonder if it's trying to boot from one of the drives...
Here it is.
Every one of those shelves is vertically adjustable, too, so if you wanna put books on it (like I do with mine) you can adjust some shelves for taller books. I've nearly filled the thing all the way up. It's been sturdy without any mounting to the wall or bracing of any sort.
It’s this one from Amazon:
Amazon link
Well, this doesnt necessarily fit your price range but when you think about it, even though it's only one unit, it is the size of 3-4 units put together... but even so, I will post it in case someone in the future finds this post through the search feature; that's how I found out about it.
I have a Prepac BMA-1520, got it for just under 300$. This thing is the perfect depth for games, and is very adjustable; it came with 34 shelves, so you could potentially fill it with ds/3ds sized boxes without wasting any space. And of course you can even put figures on top of it (like just about any storage unit) so it looks really cool. Here's mine.

Being Canadian this is Amazon.ca, but I'm sure it can help you find a similar one. Here is the one I got:

The unit is linked below, it was incredibly easy to assemble and I'm very pleased with it. If I had the space I would definitely get another for VHS and video games.

Thanks man. That middle piece is going to be gone soon.
I am having a piece built that will fill up that space.
It’s going to have graffiti on it in the style of the Spider-Verse.
Then, I start painting the walls and putting up art.

I bought two of these (I mean, this exact one) a couple of years ago, when they were a bit cheaper. I like them because when one came with a bad PSU, they replaced it free of charge and without hassle.
Thank you! Prepac Triple Width Wall Storage... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001KW0BGU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share this is the shelf I got. It's slightly wobbly but it's in absolutely zero danger of falling over so I like it.
Oooo good luck with it all!
This is pretty slick looking!
Or maybe something simpler like this!
Thanks for the contest!
I'm not sure what your budget is but This would be rad for CDs and movies and such!
And, this seems like it would be a cool light to use!
What shelf are you using for your PS collection?
Is it this:

These look good:
https://www.amazon.com/Vertical-Dividers-Alphabetical-Lettering-Professional/dp/B07VDVMRVC/
I just don't want to spend that much money.
I often order from Amazon, enormous selection on there. You can often find better prices from a label or the band's bandcamp/online store.
As for storage/display, I just filled one of these and got a second. They're great, look decent, and aren't terribly expensive (for CD racks, that is).

Atlantic Summit Media Cabinet 261CD/114DVD/132BluRay/Games Espresso https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0058O8PUU?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
I use four Atlantic brand CD cabinets that I bought at FYE years ago that sound like what you're describing:
https://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-Summit-Cabinet-132BluRay-Espresso/dp/B0058O8PUU/ref=pd_sim_23_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0058O8PUU&pd_rd_r=1QK58JEGVBY2BQHKJTHW&pd_rd_w=Xjg2s&pd_rd_wg=E6Uu1&psc=1&refRID=1QK58JEGVBY2BQHKJTHW
They still look almost brand new, even one that I've had for about 5 years now. I would certainly recommend them.
I've always used the PrePac shelving units. Easy to assemble and easy to adjust the shelves.
You can get them in double width, triple width, quadruple width. I just added a second quadruple width.

Prepac Triple Width Wall Storage Cabinet, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001KW0BGU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mMjJDbHRV8S17
In other words, you want something like this?
I bought mine off of a guy on Craigslist to be completely honest.
I might be mistaken but I think it's most likely a version of this one here:
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B001KW0BHY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2yYFDb23JVS88
You could get something like this and make some index cards that sit between cases and stick out to identify.
For those wondering this is the stand. Even the backing board is MDF unlike most that use cardboard.
I've been digging into this a lot to and saw someone's post who had these shelves:
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Triple-Width-Wall-Storage/dp/B001KW0BGU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500304427&sr=8-1&keywords=prepac+triple
Leaving towards getting a few myself. My problem with the billy and other book shelves are the depth, I don't need that for my loose carts.
this is what we are currently working with
as you can see.. this is not an average setup
My thought is to get something like this and put it to the left of the desk, since we could make simple cutouts for the cables.
the baskets of games and movies aren't really working for me either, but at least if we get the consoles off the built in shelves we can put games there.
I have the straight version of this: http://www.amazon.com/Prepac-Cherry-Triple-Width-Storage/dp/B001KW0BM4/ref=pd_sim_sbs_etk_hg_fd__4?ie=UTF8&refRID=1D3XEKXBZC3J4NQW7FR5.
Not as tight as I wished it to be, but it is versatile for DVD, Blurays, VHS, and Cd's.
A good amount of people (including me) have a shelf by Prepac known as the Triple Width that looks like those.
I had similar racks as yours (and still do) but recently went with the "Prepac Triple Width Wall Storage Cabinet" (link is from Amazon but I bought the same unit at Wal-Mart.) It's pretty sturdy, adds quite a bit of height and the shelves are quite customizable in where you place them.
So more like this? I have one of those for my DVDs and it works fine. I just tried putting a few Vita games on as well, since I wasn't sure if the backing bar would reach on a Vita case, but the bar is low enough that Vita games don't go under. I really prefer the shelves myself, but Atlantic has media storage options in just about every configuration you could imagine.
They look kinda like this: Wal Mart
edit: Amazon
I’m not sure the brand of this shelf. I purchased it off OfferUp. This one I found on amazon is similar. Has wider shelves. Adjustable too. I was going to get it but I didn’t have much $ to shell out. So hopefully soon I’ll get another.

Thanks for the tip! I've been eyeing this since I saw it in another post.

Same here Ikea is kinda out of the question... but if you're ok with ordering I say go with Prepac... they have tons of cool stuff but my personal favorite is:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001KW0BHY/ref=pd_aw_sbs_6?pi=SL500_SS115&simLd=1
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GIC09Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That's a link to the shelf I bought, but to be honest I'm not sure I'd recommend this exact one. The doors have shelves on them, which are filled to capacity now. The weight of all the movies causes the doors to lower a bit, so the scrape the bottom of the cabinet every time I open and close them. I'd recommend finding something a little more sturdy.
I posted in the past, but that shelf wasn't as full. Since then I've added near 200 titles.
Shelf located here.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KW0CRI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I picked one up on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058O8PUU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but you can find them all over the place. Media towers that were designed to store CDs will do just fine for NES games since they're about the same height when stored sideways.
Actually, if you want to be technical the EXACT shelf we got is this one:
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B001KW0BGK/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The only real difference between this one and the one he linked is the amount of dvds it can hold.
I used to store them in boxes/tubs on top and under my entertainment cabinet...but I ran out of room lol.
Getting rid of nearly half of my collection because of the space issue...I'm going to dump the stuff I never watched/just didn't enjoy and upgrade to blu rays the stuff I love. I'm not sure on storage. I have plans for some sort of shelving unit but not sure which.
Leaning towards https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KW0BDI/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_63?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER because it seems to be able to hold around 600 standard blu ray cases.
If I limit myself on what movies I want to own...I should be able to fill that up and call it good.
I will be cheating some and putting my big box collections/steelbooks somewhere else. I'll also be getting multipacks of movies in one case. So a whole series of movies in a single case pretty much. Cuts down on space taken up drastically.
Hmm... I didn't look around much but there's this:
http://amzn.com/B00062UW5A
