The Virgin Suicides: Original Motion Picture Score. The music is all done by one of my favorite bands, Air.

Also, The Marie Antoinette Soundtrack.

Both of these films are by Sofia Coppola who I guess has great taste is music.

Edit: How do you do a reddit link when there are parenthesis in the url!? It drives me crazy.

I just skipped through about 35 tracks on the album Classic Trance Nation before I found it. I knew it was on that album so had to find it after listening to your audio! The best TOMT are the ones that immediately put it in the tip of your own tongue.

Listened to any of the Gatecrasher albums?

Personally recommend the Gatecrasher Anthems album.

It’s out of stock on Amazon but I’m sure you’ll find it elsewhere.

|about|Bassnectar on his history, posted via bassnectar.net A quick run down of my musical life: When I was in junior high I began discovering music that struck me, as opposed to music that felt familiar (like my parent’s music). This was mostly Metallica (the first song I heard of theirs was “Enter Sandman”, so this was after they had already become “mainstream” and blown up), NWA (which I memorized completely verbatim)...|

Why yes, I am a bot. I've been requested to comment in this subreddit.
Please let me know if I made a mistake!

I think I first heard this song in Sofia Capolla's Marie-Antoinette. I love it when film soundtracks can add to the cinematic experience without dominating the scene. I also discovered Dustin O'Halloran's Opus 23 and Opus 17 because of this movie.

Detroit Techno should be renamed Hi Tech Soul ... cos that's the doco's name :)

Check Synth Britannia for nice doco on the emergence of electronica in pop n post punk

On the hip hop tip there's Scratch (to get more of a dose on this tip see the Style Wars doco and Wild Style as a movie blurring the lines between the real scene and a fictional one)

On all tings dubwise there's very nicely produced Dub Echoes doco.

If you want to go further back and dig on the development of dub from ska onwards, The Studio One Story tells the tale of the development of one of the best (IMO) studios/labels in JA.

For the sheer awesome of a live show, Underworld's Everything Everything

I agree that Tiesto has really changed things up lately. I'm not sure what his plan was with Kaleidoscope, but if you listen to that vs. his earlier stuff, it's like a completely different artist.

This topic reminded me of the excellent Erotic Lounge 1 compilation, which I own most of the songs from and have listened to many times. It's hard to pick a best one.

still on amazon

but remember his toronto DVD was delayed for a month, so theres no guarantee sept 25 is the date.

but he is also playing iheartradio in las vegas sept 22 (some publicity before the release?), and XS las vegas sept 23 (album release party?). so we'll just have to wait and see. :D

Well, tried looking for it and couldn't find it. However, if you're willing to spend $5.72, it's on amazon...

One of my favorite compilations:

Gatecrasher Anthems: Paul Van Dyk

u/isotope88 · 1 pointr/DnB

Check out the Drum and bass arena cd's.
Especially look for the Drum and Bass Arena Anthology; it's a 3 cd collection of 'the best songs' from 1993-2010.
This should give you some insight on how dnb evolved and which artists/subgenres you like. Enjoy and welcome to the wonderful world of dnb!

Album Title Goes Here would be epic and it's title is pretty Random.

What's a random song you like?

u/BenDante · 1 pointr/Techno

I reckon this is a pretty good compilation for anyone who's into any form of dance music: http://www.amazon.com/Love-Techno-Classics-Year-Techno/dp/B000CCZ3BC
