There's also this battery for the Note II. And I guess you could get the 64GB model and add a 64GB microSD card for 128GB (which is still half of what this guy has).

u/JayStar1213 · 79 pointsr/technology

Yup, I've always had android and people would always ask why. You tell them you get more options and more freedom. Now, just as the new Galaxy phones are becoming more and more restricted people are switching to them claiming the same thing. It's a little funny. Yes, Android is still far more "free" than iOS but it's becoming increasingly harder to find a free phone (expandable memory, removable battery, easy to take apart, etc)

Edit:
For those curious, I have an LG G4 and I love it, especially with this battery

u/ColeSloth · 11 pointsr/technology

u/ilessthanthreemath · 10 pointsr/GalaxyNexus

For those who are unfamiliar with the product, here it is on Amazon. It's an aftermarket battery for the LTE/CDMA Galaxy Nexus (Verizon, Sprint) that has three times the capacity of the standard battery.

ZeroLemon recommends that you condition the battery before real-world usage by draining it fully six times which I've done over the past week. The manufacturer also recommends that you only recharge the phone once you reach 2% even after conditioning the battery for "optimal use."

Test conditions:

  • SCH-i515 (Verizon) with FG02/FF02 radios

  • CyanogenMod 10.0/Android 4.1.2, stock kernel, no undervolting or manual frequency adjustments

  • 4G LTE radio always on (average recorded signal: -113dBm), did not drop down to 3G

  • Bluetooth radio on but mostly idle (car's Bluetooth unit connected for only ~30 minutes)

  • WiFi disabled

  • automatic brightness

  • usage: browsing the internet, watching videos on YouTube, playback of h.264 videos on /sdcard

  • speaker volume set at 50% or greater

    Test results:

  • battery stats - 20h12m

  • battery graph

  • screen on-time - 6h

Here are some other test results taken on previous days:

  • Mixed 4G/3G/WiFi usage: 1d5h uptime, 9h52m screen on-time

  • 4G only: 21h3m uptime, 6h26m screen on-time

    Problems:

  • heavy, bulky

  • case doesn't cover USB plug or headphone jack from dust or debris like the Otterbox Commuter

  • battery percentage reporting is occasionally inaccurate - ran battery down to 2%, left it alone for a while, came back and it said it had 5% left

  • battery dropped by 20% overnight (unsure if due to crappy signal)

  • call quality, speakerphone functions are neutered because the case covers the noise-cancellation microphone

  • speakers for audio playback are also neutered for the same reason, requiring volume to occasionally be turned up to 100%

  • questionable construction (sticky paper peeling off, made in China)

  • questionable long-term longevity

    Conclusion:

Despite the product's flaws, I'm very happy with its performance and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't already upgraded to a better phone. Instead of having to juggle between three extended batteries during the day or remembering to disable 4G LTE to save battery life, I can use the phone with all the features enabled without having to worry about making it through the day. It currently costs ~$40 on Amazon which I find reasonable considering that Samsung's 2100mAh extended battery is being sold for ~$15.

I'm using this - battery usually lasts 2-3 days of moderate use without recharging. http://www.amazon.com/warranty-ZeroLemon-Guarantee-Compatible-ZL-i515-black-5900/dp/B00AZZOH04

EDIT: Yes. It's big. But it comes with its own case, and works beautifully. The cheap price and 180 day guarantee is incredibly nice. So far, 5 months in, I've had no need to even think of the warranty.

If battery life is why you're looking to replace the phone, maybe look into replacing just the battery since the G4 has a removable back. On my G3 I used to run a 9000mAh battery similar to the one from the product linked below. Zerolemon is an excellent solution if you don't mind a bit of extra weight and size.

u/similar_observation · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote9

Just so we're clear. I have this model.

The squared corner model was not available when I received the Note 9.

I don't like how the top of the case (around the camera) tapers to a point. While it makes it more comfortable for pocket carry, it is also harder to grasp if you pocket it "camera first."

This especially applies when you're using a pouch. Speaking of pouches. It's way too bulky to fit into a condor pouch.

Lastly. It gets warm when it's doing it's job. I don't know how this affects the phone's performance.

zero lemon lg g4 8500mah battery I've had for about 2 years and it still holds approximately 6000mah. I intend on upgrading from my sister's s7 to the LG v20. Zero lemon has a 10,000mah for the v20.

u/Anon00112233 · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

It sounds like you use your phone a lot, which means that your battery also gets used a lot. I always charge my phone when I can, I keep it plugged in when I'm driving or when I'm at home to fast chargers. Charges really fast and lasts several hours of screen on time. My advice is to 1st get an external battery case that will charge your phone when the phones battery dies. If that doesn't work for you then get the battery changed and then also buy an external battery case. Bottom line is NO PHONE AVAILABLE is gonna last all day and night without being charged. Also Batteries Plus stores will do it for around $80 and use a genuine Rayovac or Duracell battery pack, I forgot which one. Here is a good external battery case which will charge your phone more than once.

I ended up going with this one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OQLMJR6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I chose this one because it was Prime eligible, and appeared to be one of the few legitimate "new in retail box" batteries for sale on there. I was really skeptical about buying one of the dirt cheap batteries that claimed to be official, like: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Standard-Battery-3220mAh/dp/B00WBH9QQE/ - I made that mistake with a phone in the past and it was not a great experience.

I've been using it regularly for about 3.5 weeks now and it works great. I'm considering getting another as a spare since I plan to have my Note for a long time.

If you don't care whether or not the battery is OEM, I've heard good things about PowerBear: https://www.amazon.com/PowerBear-Battery-Samsung-T-Mobile-Warranty/dp/B01FF1XJX8/ - someone linked to the 7,500mAh version in this thread: https://www.amazon.com/PowerBear-Samsung-Extended-Battery-Protective/dp/9652676764

Good luck!

u/RacerXNFS · 2 pointsr/lgg4

TL:DR: It's not about the case, but about the battery itself. And there's more than one option on the market, but the ZL is the undoubted king in single-battery size and proven reliability.

The ZL kit isn't about the case, but the battery itself. It's so big in capacity and design that it has to come with the TPU case it comes with. However, there are other big-battery options out there. The batteries themselves are smaller in capacity, but fit well enough in the battery compartment that they get away with using different rear backs instead.

Here's the PowerBear battery as an example. http://www.amazon.com/PowerBear%C2%AE-LG-G4-Extended-BL-51YF/dp/B00ZMLOHBA/

And an MPJ-branded model: www.amazon.com/Extended-Battery-MPJ-6000mAh-Capacity/dp/B015XBS45I/

One from Hyperion: www.amazon.com/Extended-Battery-Hyperion-6000mAh-Battery/dp/B00ZAJMM02/

Coincidentally, I also found an actual battery case too. This is more in line with what you have to get for a fixed-battery phone like the Galaxy S6 and iPhone. www.amazon.com/Battery-Case-Buttons-Charging-Extended/dp/B0170FDR4S/

And, of course, the tried-and-true ZeroLemon. www.amazon.com/LG-G4-ZeroLemon-Protection-4897010519648/dp/B01181ODJI/

Honestly, looking at prices you could get two of the PowerBear/Hyperion/MPJ for the same cost as the ZL and wind up with 12-13000mAh instead of the ZL's 8500, but you do lose the convenience of a single battery. And I can't vouch for those smaller batteries because I haven't seen many reviews/input from others. I'll keep looking, because I'm genuinely curious.

Oh, one last tip. If you go big-battery, get yourself a charger that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. The one that comes with the phone doesn't support it, but the phone itself does. And because big batteries mean long charge times, that QC charger will be quite the helpful little thing.

u/adrian-monk- · 2 pointsr/Moto_Z

Hi! Thank you for the response!, yeah I tried usb C peripherals, was not successful.

And after researching battery mods, I discovered that the Turbo Power Mod might be better for my situation as I dont have to use the phone's charging port, and the incipio mod will not work for my situation as charging the mod requires using the phone's charging port or wireless charging which I dont have. Do you think I should get the Turbopack?

I bought the Sedio 3800 mAh battery with this case. It gives me about 18-20 hours of pretty normal usage with 3 hours screen on time. I never run into an issue of not having enough power at the end of the day anymore.

People also really seem to like the ZeroLemon 5900 mAh extended battery.

u/AaronCompNetSys · 2 pointsr/Android

Marketing and availability was poor. They didn't push for them like the carriers do.

US buyers are still stuck in the "oh, monthly? Cheaper!" mindset.

I've bought two S4 devices specifically for the "Play" ROM. They are still great devices today, especially outfitted with a flip case and extended battery.

u/halcyoncmdr · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Which means nothing, it's not a regulated term, or even a generally specific term. "Quick Charge 2.0" for instance is a Qualcomm technology, and something the 6P doesn't support anyway, but that gives you direct info on the capabilities which are 5V/2.4A, 9V/1.5A, 12V/1.2A.

The Amazon page and the ZeroLemon page for the case lists Input but notably not Output amperage specifications.

It also obviously depends what wall plug you have it attached to. If the wall plug only outputs 1.5A then that's the maximum the device will get.

2300 mAh isn't that big of an improvement over the stock battery (2,100) so I would say you probably shouldn't expect a huge increase in battery life. They do sell them in packs of 2 with an external charger for a good price though. You can keep the extra battery with you if you want to keep it slim. http://www.amazon.com/warranty-ZeroLemon-Extended-Protection-Compatible/dp/B00A533DWO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1396635130&sr=8-3&keywords=zerolemon+galaxy+s3

u/GeneralDon · 1 pointr/AdviceAnimals

Thus why Project Ara is becoming so popular, many consumers want to pick and choose their phone's features.

Personally I want a huge battery on the back that can slide into a 1x2 module then extend above the other modules and cover the entire back. That's essentially what my current battery (ZeroLemon 9300mAh) does so I think it's a good idea.

u/NotTheKJB · 1 pointr/GalaxyS3

Honestly, that's roughly normal use tbh. I bought the ZeroLemon extended battery and haven't looked back: http://imgur.com/a/UNSE2

I used to faff about with an additional battery and charger plugged into my car all the time so I could swap out the batteries when it gets later in the day, as heading out at about 8-9 meant that if I hadn't charged my phone fully during the day then I was screwed. This extended battery in conjunction with JellyBam (custom ROM) and Greenify has completely changed the way I use my phone now, it feels as though it's had a huge burden taken off it; as a result I go through quite a bit more data, though it's well worth ~£25 delivered.

Another option besides an external pack is a battery case. Not so great for family since if you have a external battery pack everyone could use vs this being only on your phone but with positive of not needing to have cable dangling or carry a battery pack.

I do believe some battery cases allow you to charge other devices too though. Adds some bulk but doesn't really add much bezel. This uses usb c as well. Great for travel since you can use your phone like normal then minute it gets low turn battery case on.

I have had travel days where i'll have really early morning flight. My phone battery will get low around say afternoon time since i'm using it so much in airport. Turn on battery case and by evening when it's time to go out or have dinner I can take phone out the case with 100% and have enough juice to last til next day. You could also probably survive entire weekend with just the case on. You'll get about charge and a half.

Zero Lemon Galaxy Note 8

u/monkeypoo63 · 1 pointr/lgg4

This is the one i got, purely because it had good reviews and was the biggest I could find:

LG G4 Battery Case, ZeroLemon LG G4 8500mAh TriCell Extended Battery + Soft TPU Full Edge Protection Case (Compatible with all LG G4 variants) (4897010519648) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01181ODJI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_7-Qwyb67383AC

There are however some other alternatives if you don't like the price or bulkiness of the zerolemon;

PowerBear LG G4 Extended Battery [6500mAh] & Back Cover & Protective Case (Up to 2.15X Extra Battery Power) - Black [24 Month Warranty & Screen Protector Included] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZMLOHBA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_BaRwyb00TWPHF

And another thing, it's not widely stated but the LG G4 supports quickcharge/fastcharge so it's totally worth every penny to scoop up a quickcharger if you don't have one. I like the company Anker as I've been using them for years.

Anker Quick Charge 3.0 39W Dual USB Wall Charger, PowerPort Speed 2 for Galaxy S7 / S6 / Edge / Plus, Note 5 / 4 and PowerIQ for iPhone 7 / 6s / Plus, iPad Pro / Air 2 / mini, LG, Nexus, HTC and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IUSYF8G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_LdRwyb94QRH6K

There are some other anker quickchargers as well if you only want 1 USB socket or if you want something like 8. And they vary from quickcharge 1.0 to 3.0 which is pretty much just different charge speeds.

It should handle those games fine, I've a lower end phone (Moto G7 Power) I like to test stuff on and if it can handle them the Pixel 3a certainly can. I don’t believe there is any officially licensed ones, only the knock offs that you’ll find so your only bet is to look for reviews. According to some reviews online, this seems to be a good one? Personally my battery lasts me from 8am til 2am so I’ve never needed to look for one.

Zerolemon 8,500mah case. Just announced, but already sold out. I was able to snag one though. I had a 10,000mah zerolemon case for my note 4 and never had a problem with it. Hoping this one is just as good.

Oh sorry, thought you were talking about iPhone 7. This one has pretty good reviews though

i can get about 3h of screen on out of that (heavy use of reddit + twitter + chrome)

i use CM10.1, leankernel, greenify, etc

waiting to see what the Moto X ends up doing/looking like before i make the jump to either one of the Zero Lemon monsters or pick up a new 3800 mAh Hyperion battery
