Yes you can. Here, go buy 500 checks for $35 on Amazon and you can make them read whatever you want. It's not too difficult to find account number/routing number combinations (every check that's ever been printed has them on them) and they only need to appear valid for a few days for this scam to work.

you can get them on amazon or at your local office supply store.
Print your account number and your bank's routing number.
This is infinitely cheaper and more convenient than ordering from your bank or a check place but some people do misuse them.
