this is an obsession of mine and the number one item is this

https://www.amazon.com/KingSeal-Umbrella-Parasol-Cocktail-Cupcake/dp/B013KPL6LS

In two days or less I can get 144 cocktail umbrellas, which are small detailed items.

They had to be manufactured, packaged, shipping across the ocean, shipped to a nearby warehouse, where they sit available on demand to me, all for $8.88

Maybe these? If so, that's an awesome name for them!

Like others have said, too much glass not enough martini. I think your problem is you're making a traditional sized martini, but using a modern glass. Double your amount of vodka and vermouth, but leave the rest the same and it'll look much better. Edit: Whoops I spaced on the amount of liquor that goes into a martini, a 3-4 oz. martini is normal, this is a big glass isn't it.

And I sorta agree with /u/veggietrooper about the glass style, but for different reasons. To me a coupe says gin martini, while a straight-sided cocktail glass says vodka martini.

I'm also not a fan of the single use cocktail picks, both due to sustainability and aesthetic concerns, you could improve the look with some reusable ones like these (Or if you don't take yourself too seriously these).

Feta stuffed Greek meatballs with tzatziki!

Toss a bunch of Cavender's Greek seasoning into your ground meat of choice (ground beef/lamb blend for extra authenticity), roll the balls around however much feta you want inside your meatball, bake for ~25 minutes at 400, serve with tzatziki, salad, whatever you like.

I like to spear them with these fancy-ass bamboo toothpicks and serve them as appetizers.

I just use the small bamboo skewers. http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Bamboo-Cocktail-Doeuvre-Picks/dp/B001G0HW4K

Dirt cheap and functional. The stainless steel ones either get lost, stolen, or the tops break off.

u/J-M-B · 5 pointsr/cocktails

I like the flat bamboo ones as opposed to the knot skewers that Antilon posted.

They balance better on the glass and feel more secure, in my opinion.

Mostly just to look cute :) But it's shaped sort of like a toothpick, so you could use it to eat small foods if you want. Get it here!

Here you go :)

You can get some from Amazon. Three Dots and a Dash in Chicago uses them too, and will often throw in a few if you buy a mug (or maybe even if you ask).

u/TikiUSA · 3 pointsr/Tiki

Nah. I just don’t need quite so many. Amazon .

u/poisongreekgyro · 3 pointsr/cocktails

So you can't tell by the photo, but the pick does extend to the bottom of the glass! For reference, these are the picks I use and they're great.

u/Jewbaccafication · 2 pointsr/alcohol

Usually, yeah. A good middle ground if you don't want that price point are the dark morello cherries from Aldi's.

A reasonably-priced set of reusable cocktail picks can also up your presentation game and also let you get around putting in effort to fish your garnish out of the glass yourself.

I think I just used the first hit on amazon because they're not ostentatious and weren't obscenely expensive.

I once liked a girl but I was shy. After months of seeing her on the hallways, at the benches, or anywhere around school, I finally had the courage to ask her out. She agreed, I brought her to a romantic place for dinner, she was so easy to talk with I did not notice it was already getting late at night.

After dinner, I asked if I could walk her home. She was hesitant at first, but I kept on it with a mixture of "pa-cute" and insistence until finally she relented. Along the way, we passed by a group of young guys on the street leading up to their house, one guy noticed us and said "Pare, siyoto mo yun ah".

I use these. They sell the sames ones at Crate and Barrel for the same price if you have as store local to you. They are very solidly build and there are no weld lines or crevices that are annoying to try and clean out.

EDIT: They hold about three large olives with room at the end. Or four with no room except the little ball.

Amazon , dude!

u/Juxtzy · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Because I'm a horrible fucking person and I don't like pickles.

Like I want anything from YOU

It's become a bit of a tradition in our household to buy massive amounts of zebra cakes to eat during all the drinking. I don't know how it started, but last time we bought beer, on the way home someone shouted "SHIT WE FORGOT THE ZEBRA CAKES GO BACK!"

So apparently they're necessary now.

The other tradition is to go to IHOP once we've been cut off at the bar. >.>;

I feel like this is a relevant gift. <3

I'm soooo drunk!! Thanks for the contest! :D

Vietnamese-American bride and Brazilian-American Groom

  1. we bought flag toothpicks from our respective countries and they'll be used for the appetizers lol
    world flags direct and amazon

  2. we are changing into traditional Vietnamese outfits (ao dai) during the reception when we're walking around greeting guests doing table pictures

  3. still on the fence about this but was thinking about having Bem casados (Brazilian wedding cookies) as a favor or snack
u/halpscar · 1 pointr/lifehacks

It's like one that you use on the grill - long, flat, with a slightly twisty point at the end - I also have a spike that I think might have been for olives or something that works quite well.

Examples - cocktail spears or bbq skewers - dig through the cutlery at your local thrift store if you have one (and wear gloves...) and you'll probably find a few possibilities :)

tooth pick

edit: I was thinking of drink picks for olives or fruit like this. https://www.amazon.com/Soodhalter-Swords-Plastic-Cocktail-Toothpicks/dp/B01BTC0OLW

u/FauxmingAtTheMouth · 1 pointr/nextfuckinglevel

We would shoot toothpicks with the frilly stuff on one end through straws into the ceiling like dart guns.

u/jupitercrash13 · 1 pointr/cocktails

Decided to poke around since I'm doing the insomniacs thing tonight and saw a few more cool ones.
