These bad boys are pretty handy
I just use metal shirt collar stays.
Bro just get metal collar stays and small magnets. Total cost 15 bucks

I once received a deck of plastic cards that have 4 collar stays on each card, perforated so you could "punch" them out. It was a promotion so that the company's name was on each one. I actually found this link for them on amazon.
Does he wear a lot of dress shirts? I'm right at that age and now I have to wear them all the time. I always lose or break those effing collar stays so I thought what if they made metal ones? You would look like a boss (well I guess no one would actually see them but you'd feel like it) and you wouldn't have to worry about those things anymore. Well I found some. You can get them for like $5-$10 or go all out for the nice ones listed below.
This seems like a really nice set for $30 if you don't mind spending that much on a stocking stuffer
I also found some engraved ones of the same set
Wurkin Stiffs
You can make your own. Stays. Magnets (pick the size and strength that you want).
$15 and you'll have enough for a lifetime.
A 6-pack for $40 goes well beyond "a bit more expensive" territory. Especially for a product that seems so basic.
Any particular reason to buy these over, say:
2 40 metal collar stays + 2 35 neodymium magnets = ~$32 ?
Seems like gratuitous spending.
Plus you still need to store the magnetic versions somewhere -- might as well just use a magnet separately.
Unless sticking to fridges is your go-to party trick or something.
Wurken Stiffs are overpriced - you can get a full set of metal stays and magnets that will last forever for $12. I have a set of Wurken Stiffs and these generic versions, and they really don't differ in the slightest.

I just bought this 52-pack stainless steel collar stays on Amazon for $7.95 ($9.95 minus $2.00 clipped coupon). Never going back to plastic!
Plastic Sticker Collar Stays
What's going on with that collar roll on the right?
Grab a set of these
Okay, I'll bite. These are all items I currently carry in my EDC organizer that are under $10.
• Uncle Bill's tweezers (definitely not in the everyday use category, but superb for that "damn I need this" category. e.g. wife with metal filing splinter)
• 16 oz Nalgene (just started carrying mine and glad I did. e.g. I need to drink more water)
• Mirror (sure you can use your phone, but I've found it handy a few times. e.g. at work place before meetings; to pick that food out your teeth after lunch)
• Toothpicks (to pick said food from teeth before meeting)
• WD-40 pen (cuz... WD-40. e.g. squeaks and stuff)
• Hand Sanitizer pen (because germs. e.g. after a BBQ Brisket Quesadilla for lunch)
• Gorilla Glue super glue (again, used a few times, but in a "save the day" type of situation.)
• Plastic or Metal Collar Stays (I always seem to forget collar stays, so I pack them in my EDC organizer)
• $10 (in cash) (I've forgotten my wallet once before—but had my EDC organizer in my laptop bag—still got to eat lunch that day)
Yes I realize 4 of my items specifically mention "lunch".
Yes! Wurkin Stiffs will solve all your problems: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001IVY2I6
I have the same problem. I might try these out. http://wurkinstiffs.com/polo-stay-16-polo-stays.html
Edit: These are much cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/Curl-Collar-Shirt-Stays-Refill/dp/B007RHF4GE
Well, I recently got a pair of Wurkin Stiffs Power Stays on the cheap (I think they were $15 at Nordstrom Rack). And I wasn't too crazy about them. I've used plastic and metal stays before, and they've honestly worked just as well in my experience. For that price, I would pass in the future. But your link seems to be a slightly different style of product.
I suppose it could be interesting, but I would honestly use them primarily for button down shirts to keep a clean look between that 1st and 2nd button down on some shirts. Too deep look trashy, and too high looks up-tight. In between is just about right. These could do the trick, but I'm not sure if they're worth it, how well they work, or if they would look seamless and not overly try-hard. Not to mention, most of my shirts look fine without them.
Two pairs $15 -

Or just hack your own, like AA says.
I prefer these, with some cheap magnets from Dealextreme. I have shirts with many different collar sizes, so these are a better and cheaper option for someone such as myself.
on that note, I got these on amazon, and I have yet to find a shirt that doesn't match the included sizes.
Wurkin Stiffs are only $20 on Amazon
That said, I wear them every time I wear a non-button down collar without a tie and will continue to in the future. They successfully eliminate the problem you describe on most shirts, although they can be a little awkward with certain collars. I think I've gradually gotten better at finding the appropriate place to put the magnets.
Pull the trigger if you'll use them. It's also a cool small business that appeared on Shark Tank, if you want to look into them more.
Ahem - my turn - this is my expertise
Keep a small baggie behind your phone case along with a plastic insert for collared shirts like this (amazon link) to snort, keep it behind your phone case. Go to the bathroom and take a shit as needed
If by golf shirts you mean polos, then yes, your typical collar stays won't work. I searched on Amazon and found these, which you apply to the collar like a sticker.
Yeah, in that case, the do make collar stays that you can iron on or washing machine-safe adhesive on, but nothing to keep the shape of the entire collar except this weird thing.
There are a couple of collar-stay "packs" as HeresWhyYouSuck suggests at Amazon. Many are in the same price-range. My last pack of 4-sizes, 24-in-a-set was this one: AmazonCollarStay
Same idea. And there are enough that you don't panic if one accidentally falls out (very occasionally) during the day. And they survive ironing if accidentally left in (yay!)
i got some stainless steel ones on amazon, they seem to be holding up well over the past few years. And i got like 20 pair for under 10$. i dont see these things ever going bad unless you misplace them. I even added some strong earth magnets (little ones) to the underside of my collar to keep them in place, but a couple of the magnets have since cracked, so not so BIFL
Edit: link
I bought these which I love. You can buy the magnets seperate on Amazon and have 40 stays in 4 different sizes for less than the price of a single pair of Wurkin Stiffs.
I bought the "small disc" of these:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/science/e802/?srp=26
and these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004L8J0C6/ref=oh_o01_s01_i00_details
you get all the diff sizes at relatively the same price, if not a few $$ cheaper.
I would either wear a button down shirt or use collar stays.
Definitely Wurkin Stiffs. Both Dappered and Primer Magazine wholeheartedly endorse them, and it's not hard to see why after using them for a while.
Maybe something like this for both the collar and lapel?
http://www.amazon.com/No-Curl-Collar-Stays-Refill/dp/B007RHF4GE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427774224&sr=8-2&keywords=flat+collar
Haven't tried it, but looks like it might work. Ordering some now.
http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Collar-Stays-Plastic-Smooth/dp/B00CPWBE4C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427575282&sr=8-1&keywords=collar+stay
These will help keep them straight.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007RHF4GE/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_41?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3S5D7HA8WHI71&pldnSite=1
I've bought them before, and won't again. Preferably buy these
http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Collar-Stays-Clear-Plastic/dp/B004L8J0C6/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1346808936&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=collar+stays
and buy the workin stiffs magnets seperately.
Here are some tips that may help:
If you're leaving the top button of a button-down open, wear a V-neck undershirt that will not show
If your shirt does not have a button down collar, use magnetic collar stays (such as Wurkin Stiffs) to prevent your collars from flaring. You can also find cheaper options by purchasing metal collar stays and neodymium magnets
If you're going to roll up your sleeves, consider wearing a watch that matches the formality of your outfit. This adds visual interest to your otherwise bare forearm and wrist
If you're wearing horizontal stripes, make sure that your clothing is well fitted. Otherwise, you're adding 10 lbs. with the bagginess and 10lbs. with the stripes
I'm not sure what you're thinking of wearing for shoes, but consider some medium to dark brown leather shoes (e.g. chukkas, driving mocs). Again, your footwear should match the formality of your outfit.
I hope this helps. You're already making much better style choices than I did for my senior pictures!
Yup. I've seen them at Nordstrom Rack or: http://www.amazon.com/Wurkin-Stiffs-Silver-Magnetic-Collar/dp/B001IVY2I6
For that problem you can get magnetic collar stays.
If you wear business casual a lot, I'd throw collar stays into the mix. I was skeptical but got some as a gift and now pretty much never go without them. They make pretty much every shirt/outfit look better.
I got these: http://www.amazon.com/Wurkin-Stiffs-2-5-inch-Power-Collar/dp/B002R1UG22
I think these are great, but they do seem like they are the most expensive ones out there-- no idea if the cheaper alternatives on Amazon work just as well, but some of the reviewers there seem to think so.
Some of them come with small magnets that go behind your shirt to provide extra collar hold. Wurkin Stiffs are the "name brand" but you can buy Chinese knockoffs that work just as well for much less than that price
You might want to check Amazon. $40 for 6 stays and 6 magnets is extremely expensive.
24 magnetic stays - $3. 30 magnets - $7.
Basically, this means that for 75% less you get 400% more from Amazon.
So what will you be doing with the other sizes? So I will be purchasing 24 collar stays, and I would not be able to use half of them?
Yes, I understand the appeal compared to Wurking Stiffs, but I purchased another one where I was able to control the sizes I was getting.
Edit: http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Collar-Stays-Plastic-Smooth/dp/B00CPWBE4C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395542535&sr=8-1&keywords=Collar+Stays
They cost $2 for more useful stays. I don't regret these.
Could you not just get these: http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Collar-Stays-Plastic-Smooth/dp/B00CPWBE4C/ref=sr_1_2?m=A3L49T78R1EZEC&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1395513990&sr=1-2
I travel a lot for work and this is why I always request two room keys and you should too. It's pretty easy to make a crude pair of collar stays out of a hotel key. I wouldn't cut up something valuable to you (like a credit card).
I had to do this a time or two when the plastic stays in my shirts would get warped, but you can buy metal collar stays from Amazon for a few bucks. I bought a set for home and another that stays in my dopp kit.
Snag some scissors from the front desk and it can be done in a few minutes.
But don't be a cheap ass and try to make a bunch of your own. Just buy some metal stays and forget about it.
FWIW: Here's the set I have. The bag is kind of shitty, but I just tossed it.
Take a peek! Only found out about them after I started working at a job with a much looser dress policy.
Code gives you a 75% discount on these metal ones and these plastic ones. Not an amazing deal, but still pretty good if you're in the market for collar stays, and better than any other option on Amazon right now. I just picked some metal ones up last week for cheaper, but the product is no longer available and I ran across this while trying to find them again for a friend.
You can also get some magnets and basically have 30 Wurkin Stiffs for ~10.
