Not sure how to answer this :D There are so many replacers out there, and not all of them good. It all depends on what you want I suppose? Some people are obsessed with vanilla stuff, some people just want them to look good.

Hi Taycamgame,

good and detailed questions.

  • (1) You can start with GD Script (like Python). Gd Script is the main Godot 3.1 script for game programming. There are lots of resources on the net about it. You can learn from videos, video courses or e-books. I will provide you with some of our GD Script programming resources.

Slavs Make Games - video material (free)

Making python app - video course (free)

    "GD Script" - Godot 3.1 game engine script - e-book (3$)

  • (2) First, create some simple 2D games. Platformer for example, and learn from it. Create a simple level with static body graphics and add player character. Work on functionality. Everything else you can add later. I will provide you with some of our free Godot courses for beginners.

Making simple Godot game - video course (free)

  • (3) Both approaches are good. You can make your game and learn from it, or you can learn from predefined game examples. Start what you can finish. See, our videos and courses about concluding a computer game.

Make and conclude a computer game - video (free)

How to conclude a computer game [with Godot 3.1 practice] (11.99$)

  • (4) Godot from ver 3.1 is a great free game engine without adds. You can make great 2D games and applications with it if you work alone. You will found only possibilities, and soon you will see that Godot 3.1 is the best game engine.

I hope this can help, and all the best in your Godot way.

I put together a book about programming topics usually not covered in college courses. Things like unit testing, version control, code cleanliness, how to create a web presence, etc. It's meant to help new graduates or self-taught programmers become better candidates when applying for a first programming job.

The book is free this week. I just released it a week ago, and feedback would really help out.

Hi, I read a lot of negative Amazon reviews about the official specification textbook you linked by Hodder Education.

Also, I'm looking to buy a revision guide to revise from, and I'm not sure if I should get the PG Online book (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1910523054/ref=rdr_ext_sb_ti_hist_3) or this one (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1535183535/ref=pd_luc_rh_bxgy_01_02_t_img_lh?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1).

The price doesn't matter; I want to get a revision guide that provides solely all the information required to pass the new spec OCR Computing AS exams (I may carry on to A2 but that's irrelevant, my choice is dependent on the helpfulness of the AS content).

I hope someone can help give me a better idea to decide. Thanks.

Try this - http://www.amazon.com/Fundamentals-Of-SCM-EWM-Step-Step/dp/0983921105

I know the author and have worked with him on several projects - he and his brother started their own firm and are top notch in the world of EWM/WM/LE.

It's worth noting that the Cambridge CompSci course assumes no programming knowledge from the start, so I'd imagine the colleges would be understanding if you explained your situation in your personal statement/standard access questionnaire when you apply.

To sidetrack a bit, Jake Wright vlogged most of his Computer Science course at Cambridge - you might find it useful to watch the videos. Additionally, as a shameless plug, I wrote a revision guide for OCR's AS CompSci course that could be useful if you want to self-teach, but there are one or two other alternatives to choose from as well :) Hope it all turns out well for you!

Yup! I know very much about the ins and outs of AL :) Feel free to PM me but what are you struggling with/trying to do?

If it's just general understanding of the software, you can check out this Udemy course (currently at $105, but bear in mind that udemy courses have a sale more often than not...I only paid ~$10 for the course about a month ago). There's also the updated version of AnyLogic in three days, which is only $5.50 on Amazon.

  1. Because the future job market will expect their employees to understand contemporary technology. The top 10 in demand jobs in the next 15 years do not exist yet.

  2. New doesn't mean "awesome gaming PC" it means a solid piece of equipment with updated software and hardware capabilities. I'd give a chromebook for every student if I could find the money somewhere in a budget.

I'd encourage you to sit down and try and do research on a contemporary website designed with contemporary plugins on a machine that is a decade old and cannot update its software (only admin logins can, and teachers and students do not get admin logins). See how frustrated you get, then imagine 30 teenagers all doing that at the same time.

Lastly, your concept of education as only requiring a web browser and Microsoft Word is exactly what an earlier comment I wrote is all about. That's 20th century thinking about education. True immerse education for the 21st century has to address so much more than what older generations think of as "school". This is a great read to update your thinking on what this generation of student needs and expects out of education.

Before going through any books of the pioneers, it may be helpful to go through "Artificial Neural Networks For 'kids' ".

I made the mistake 2 years ago of following a typical tutorial, getting a neural net to work from scratch well, without actually grasping the intuition behind neural nets.

This book is a good way to tune your mind to the intuitive nuts and bolts behind these networks, and you will need a firm grasp on fundamental neural nets before attempting to go for more complicated models.

For example, the book contains a giant diagram showing a very intuitive display of how error signals are "trickle" backwards from the output layer: https://i.imgur.com/iQEDfXq.png

For calc MATH 1300/1014 and 1310/1014 you need , buy it new from the bookstore cause you will need the online code for assignments also it’s useful for calc 3 if you wanna take that. Man Wong is a good prof I had him for both 1300 and 13010

For EECS 1019 you need it’s not that useful and PDF can be found online for free and no online assignments so no need to buy it new. I had Zhihua Chang he’s a new prof but really nice but his lectures are boring. Trev tutor on YouTube is really helping with the course.

For Math 1025/1021 you need I found the book helpful but unlike calc some profs tend not to use this book so I’d hold out of buying it but most profs use lyryz which is an online assignment program so you will need to buy that. I had Paul Skoufranis, amazing prof but had tests. The book is also useful for linear 2 but again depend if the prof uses it

For EECS 1022 you need
It’s a good book and the guy you wrote it teaches the class.

PM if you have any other questions

Try selenium...

Selenium IDE 3 can be used as a first try, and can be automated with Firefox and Chrome, but with extension you can execute the recorded scripts on many browsers

Than C#, Java, Python - and many other popular languages - can be used with web drivers to automate any browser Edge, IE, Chrome, Firefox etc., combining with programming possibility in your favourite programming language .
