This cookbook exists. My wife gave it to me as a gift. It's nice, but I haven't yet been able to persuade her to actually make me any of the recipes yet. (What, do it myself? Nah...)

This blog also exists.

I really love my Betty Crocker cookbook that I got from my dad when I moved out - very basic stuff all the way down to making mashed potatoes or frying an egg. It also has the BEST pie crust recipe.

I've recently been checking out different cookbooks from my local library to try them out first before committing to buying them. So far one that I have really loved is Brown Eggs and Jam Jars . I've made 5 of the recipes so far and every single one has been a winner, so I bought the book for myself. It's a nice book on natural, home style cooking with easy to find ingredients. It's also gotten me on a bit of a canning & preserving kick, and I have a few other books about that checked out right now that I'm going through.

The first time my gf cooked for me, it was a recipe from this: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Cookbook-Ethan-Phillips/dp/0671000225

That night I knew she was the one.

Super-easy ginger ale: a bottle of Trader Joe's ginger echinacea lemon juice and a quarter teaspoon of champagne yeast. Leave it on the counter with the lid cracked for 24-48 hours, seal, and put it in the fridge. Use the dregs to get the next bottle going.

I've been intending to buy this book:

There's actually a recipe for Sisko's jambalaya in the Star Trek Cookbook.

It's quite good.

you forgot to promote your book, Stephen Cresswell.

This book is awesome, for those of you that are inclined to try these things.

[Cooking With Children] (https://www.amazon.com/Cooking-Children-Lessons-Really-Learn/dp/0679422978/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523885034&sr=8-1&keywords=cunningham+cooking) by Marion Cunningham is a good guide for working with kids in the kitchen. The recipes are simple and delicious.

Does it need to be TNG specific? If anything Trek is fair game this pizza cutter is pretty clever.

I always think custom ice cubes are pretty fun also.

Again, this is more Voyager than Next Generation, but a cooking book with Neelix on the cover would make me laugh too.

Hope these help. There are tons of stuff. I'm sure you'll do great!

I guess to some this and this might be embarassing. I personally just think they're awesome. :P

  1. Literally everything a replicator can make
  2. Starfleet Combat Rations
  3. Hasperat

Also, I have the Star Trek Cookbook!
u/thinkreate · 2 pointsr/MimicRecipes

I realize that my suggestion does not contain the specific recipe you’re looking for, but if you’re into Star Trek food, you might wish to try Neelix’s cookbook. https://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Cookbook-Ethan-Phillips/dp/0671000225

Right on, that sounds totally cool! One of the cool things about the recipes is that they are intended to made in batches of various sizes (making it great for parties with large punch bowls). The original WCB was served in a fishbowl, and definitely meant for two or more people. It wasn't until later that Quark's started offering "single" sized drinks. Oh and the WCB tastes a lot like Hawaiian Punch, and the dry ice is worth the effort to get if you're doing a large group presentation.

Also, for your party: my geek, let me show you it. I haven't purchased that cookbook yet, but there's a space reserved for it on my cookbook shelf.

Yep.

One of the only ways iBooks is better than kindle is you can download the full color cookbooks and put them on a stand on your iPad as you cook.

Sounds like you are in the wrong profession. One of the coolest stories that Schwarzenegger told recently is how he started buying real estate - houses, then apartment buildings and small office buildings in LA and Santa Monica so he was a millionaire before he ever got his first big acting role - investing let him do everything else on his own terms, and he couldn't fail financially. I would do the same thing with a restaurant, have enough passive income so that the restaurant couldn't fail financially, because over 90% do.

Did you see chef yet? Great movie, featured New Orleans for part of it.

It's a bit cheaper on Amazon. I like the PET bottles. Do you also sell those caps that let you brew in the bottles? Similar to the normal caps but with a hole in the top and a rubber disk with a pinhole. I used those in the Mr. Rootbeer kit before and love them.

Good info there, man. Thanks. I'll look into all that. The wintergreen root thing came from a book I read when I was 19 and I first got into homebrewing. It was this one: Homemade Root Beer, Soda & Pop https://www.amazon.com/dp/1580170528/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_AVUcvb1G2JXRP
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1580170528/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_AVUcvb1G2JXRP

Sorry for the ugly url. I'm on mobile.

u/ThePrince_OfWhales · 1 pointr/Wishlist

This is the book. I've yet to actually make anything, but I'm going to here once the term ends in 3 weeks. Hope this helps!

u/SOEDragon · 1 pointr/Homebrewing

It is the same idea as bottle conditioning a beer. You seal it off to air and the CO2 that the yeast produce builds up in the bottle. Homewbrewed sodas usually have a very low alcohol content (>1%) but a little bit is in there due to fermentation. I don't know off the top of my head what yeast to use. You can buy soda making kits that are fairly inexpensive and you can also buy extracts where you basically add sugar and water. I know the yeast we used was cheap and dry (not the liquid yeast starters). We only carbed with yeast once. Since we have a kegorator, we have almost always kegged it and force carbed it. Also here is a link to an excellent book about it: http://www.amazon.com/Homemade-Root-Beer-Soda-Pop/dp/1580170528/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1312215237&sr=8-2

"All my exes live in Texas, that's why I hang my hat in Tennessee."

What I wouldn't buy myself: Mod Podge Puzzle Saver. I wouldn't buy it myself, but if given to me.. it would motivate me to put together ALL THE PUZZLES.

What I would buy myself: Easy Campfire Cooking: 200+ Family Fun Recipes for Cooking Over Coals and In the Flames with a Dutch Oven, Foil Packets, and More! We go camping a lot as a family, this would give us more ideas and make us a little less sick of hot dogs!
