I had the same problem with my business associations professor and ended up getting "Acing Business Associations" by Chaslow. For me, it worked really well. It's not an outline exactly, more similar to an E&E, but it's extremely easy to read and should be enough to get you started. http://www.amazon.com/Acing-Business-Associations-Law-School/dp/0314906738/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411832642&sr=8-1&keywords=business+associations+supplement

You won't be at a disadvantage at all, I promise. All you need to do is when you come across a term you don't understand, read about the entry in Investopedia/Wikipedia and it'll get you up to speed. I usually don't condone learning things from those sites, but it's auxiliary reading so it should be fine and I never found any of the concepts I learned from either source to be taught incorrectly. I found the E&E for BA wasn't all that great sadly. But as with all E&Es, they're very hit or miss.

I would say that if you really want a hornbook, Business Organization by Moll and Freer (all praise be to him)

I had 0 business knowledge going into BA and just learned what I needed to on the fly. Any book on "business" will be too broad and will cover a lot of stuff not covered in BA.

Not sure what you'd consider "cheap," but the Emanuel guide to corporations is available on Amazon for $32.

It doesn’t mean we should just give up though. If enough people rallied and fought against these atrocities they could be resolved.

Check out the books The Deaf Phoenicians and The Blackest of All Magic .

I dislike how so many people feel it’s up to others to expose the facts when it’s really up to all of us to continue the work others started. One person can only do so much but many people united can accomplish what many deem impossible.

There is no such thing as digesting this class quickly and painlessly. This is one of the "Big Four" suck-o-matic courses in the Accounting curriculum.

That said, if you need some outside resources, here are ones I used.

Quick note: for S-corporations, equity and debt basis are separate; in case of a loss, equity basis is depleted FIRST; when that is zero, you can deplete debt basis. For partnerships, there is no difference between equity and debt basis.
