Most recently I've been super enamored with the H2O4K9 water bottle.

It's basically a stainless steel water bottle with a big cap that you can fill to let the dog drink out of it. I use it basically every day now that it's getting warmer again. I got it with the neoprene sling, so I bring it along for trips to the dog park and longer walks.

But what's super nice is it's designed that it's really easy to pour unused water back into the bowl easily. And you don't have to carry an extra bowl. Granted, on hikes when I think I'll want water, I'll bring my camelback and a dog bowl and just dump out unused water, but when I really just want water for the dogs? The water bottle works great.

Granted, it's probably not going to be great for a newfie or great dane. But I've seen a standard lab use it just fine. And while the water does get a bit dirty because one of my dogs has a beard, I still really like it.

This thing on Amazon is about $3.

They're great and make it easier for them to drink.

Fun! I'll let you know some of my dog gear, but your preferences and dog will be different.

I usually bring three different leashes with me, depending a little on where I'm going. She can't really be off leash, so I take a 30 ft line to give her space to wander or splash in the river on a break. If the trail is too busy or the hike is a pretty short one, this often gets left behind or never used.

A basic 15 ft leash is perfect for hiking with her. It gives her a bit more space, but isn't long enough to cause much trouble getting wrapped around things, and I can easily pull her closer to me when I need. I tied a couple knots in it for easier grabbing and holding at different lengths. I can also use a locking carabiner (I always have a couple on hand) to attach the handle to my backpack for hands-free.

I also love my Tuff Mutt hands-free waist leash. It has two handles if I need to hold her closer, and I really like the bungee. The only downside is that it's a bit heavy for a leash, but I find it's worth the weight, and I'm almost always just doing day hikes so it's fine. I don't know really know how it compares to other hands-free leashes though since it's the only one I've used.

I recently got a Ruffwear Front Range harness for hikes. It is the only harness I've been able to put on her, so I really can't compare much. Seems to fit her comfortably and works well as a back-clip harness. I haven't been able to use it as a front-clip without it sliding around too much. But I don't really need the front-clip when hiking, so I'm pretty pleased with it overall. If my dog wasn't so finicky about harnesses, I'd be trying other options though. You might prefer one with a handle, I've heard good things about the Ruffwear Webmaster.

I currently have an Outward Hound travel bowl for water, but I'm not a huge fan of it. My dog doesn't always drink all the water I pour, so then I've wasted water. And I either have to put a wet bowl back in my bag or clip to the outside and hear the annoying swish of it rubbing against the bag. It's not a big deal, and it works, but I'm eyeing one of these instead.

Happy hiking!

>How often should you stop

Consider their schedule already - try to maintain their bathroom/meal/exercise schedule while on the road. Dogs thrive on routine and in scary new situations like moving across country, it can be their 'rock' to get through the transition. You will likely need to stop 4 or 5 times for potty breaks, 2 or 3 times for meal breaks (try to find restaurants that allow dogs or parks for a picnic) and once or twice a day for some exercise (long walk after a picnic/meal, finding a local dog park to let them off leash, playing obedience games in the hotel, etc).

>Is there any way to find out the closest dog parks to the highway

When you are in the car and about ready for a break - get out your smart phone and do a local search for 'dog parks'. You should be able to find them fairly easy in all major cities you pass through (smaller towns are less likely to have areas like this). If you find yourself in the middle of no where and need a break - many places will have signs for states parks, nature areas or rest stops that you can take some long walks through. If possible - plan to stop at some of the bigger 'attractions'/parks and maybe spend an afternoon hiking. Your dogs will be much more tired for much longer with a nice little adventure (and it is good for the humans, too. Being stuck in a car driving across country is tough on everyone).

>Anything I should know/be prepared for before taking a 2,200 mile trip with the pups?

  • Bring a couple gallon jugs of water and bowls for them to drink out of if you have trouble finding a good dog friendly spot to water them. Consider getting something like this or this (if they will be riding in their crates).

  • Stock up on chews and entertainment for the car ride. Something that will last them a while but not smell terrible (Try Himalayan Dog Chews or Deer Antler)

  • If they will not be riding in their crates - they should at least be wearing a well fitting harness and be using a doggy seatbelt (it can help keep them in place and protect them in case of an accident - look for harnesses that have a crash test rating, if possible).

  • Maintain your schedule as much as you can. Try to get in a good amount of tiring exercise in the morning, a nice walk in the afternoon and a walk in the evening to stretch their legs and help keep them calm.

  • Do google searches in large towns/cities you know you will be passing through for dog parks, rest areas and dog friendly restaurants to take breaks at.

  • Big changes like this can cause some anxiety which can lead to tummy upset - bring a lot of poop bags, enzymatic cleaner, paper towels and plastic bags with you - as well as a few different sets of towels/blankets just in case. A can of 100% pumpkin puree (not pie filling) kept in a cooler with a can cover can also help with any tummy discomfort (add a tablespoon to kibble at meal times).

To give your dog a drink. Turn it over; the bottle of water flows into the yellow part. [Here's a very similar one.] (http://www.amazon.com/Foldable-Bottle-Dispenser-Feeder-Travel/dp/B009O8UW7U)

u/Charred01 · 4 pointsr/DogCare

I highly recommend you get a dog water bottle. You can attach it to your belt or hold it while you run if your dog won't have a reliable source of water on your runs. I have an older husky Shepherd, body and fur of a Shepherd, live in Texas. Even at 80 degrees with sunlight she stops to take water from me two or three times over a 40 minute walk. Though of course every dog will be different so if he's fine awesome but be prepared for your first few times. Especially if your weather like mine hits 100+ as the summer goes on.

This is the one I use Highwave AutoDogMug, Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YNK9VPI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Otherwise just make sure if you are on pavement that it's not to hot for your dog. Easy measurement is put the back of your hand down. If you can hd it there for 5-10 seconds it's probably safe otherwise wait for it to cooldown or find some of that wax stuff to put on their paws. Though this might be a double edged sword as I think it might block sweating which won't be good on a run.

I ended up going with this one, It comes with a dog poop bag dispenser, a little cup for her to drink out of, and a D-ring clip for $4 more.

Looks like you have a good list going, remember to update your pups microchip with your address and get him/her a tag with your details.

We got a 36 inch crate and it's plenty big for our boy (he's around 30 pounds).

Puppia harness is a great starter harness, it's soft and doesn't have a bunch of metal jingling pieces which our puppy HATED on his harness our breeder gave us.

Kibble, check out dog food advisor for reviews and ratings of foods content, we were using grain free salmon and sweet potato from chicken soup for the soul, it's decently priced and well rated I can't find it anywhere atm so we're switching him back to their normal kibble.

Salmon Oil is a lifesaver in the winter, our pup gets terribly dry skin and extremely itchy without it.

Start out with a puppy kong, they sell kong fillers that are cheese and peanut butter flavored, our puppy was pretty picky at first and only ate the cheese one, didn't like frozen kongs either.

I'd start with a Basic Collar here's a Dog Tag Silencer and a Break-away collar for outdoors or dog park. A dog was choked unconscious at our park so I typically just keep our guys ID tags on his harness and don't use a collar, but if you do I definitely recommend a break-away if you are primarily using a harness with it.

Items we found useful: Bed Liner, Crate Fence, Kong, Stainless Steel Bowls (highly reccomend US made do not buy any made in China for health reasons), Zippy Paws Hide and Seek toys, Potty/accident cleaner, Potty Bells, Anti-chew Bitter Apple spray, 50 ft Leash, Retractable Leash, Soft stop Leash extender, Car Seat Belt, Car Booster Seat, Gentle Shampoo, Comb, Travel Water Bottle, Flirt Pole, Special Treats, Chew Stick, Greenies

Sorry for the HUGE list lol, feel free to ask any questions!

Not here for the gold, just with suggestions.

This requires some rigging: https://www.amazon.com/Living-World-Lock-Crock-20-Ounce/dp/B005F3FCSM, but literally one of those types of kennel water bowls - if you can find something to screw it in to, it locks in to place. Put one of those plastic placemats underneath (you can find them at most pet stores) - they'll catch the mess, and your cat can't drag a screwed in water bowl around.

Going off the kennel idea, https://www.amazon.com/COCOPET-Dripless-Fountains-Dispenser-Automatically/dp/B01KDUK8US/ref=sr_1_4?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1511144068&sr=1-4&keywords=kennel+water+bottle&dpID=4105l1%252Bk1YL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch you can easily train a cat to use one of these licking water bottles.

Also, https://www.amazon.com/Sit-N-Stay-Small-Magnetic-Non-Slip-Tray/dp/B01FE6ZILU magnetic bowls. There's tons of different types, and might be difficult to move. You can also find these in a lot of pet stores, make sure to take them out and see how they do, or order off Amazon and return it if it's not a powerful enough magnet.

Also, seconding the dripping faucet, or springing off that idea - a bowl in a guest bathroom sink, or a second bathtub. Then, if there's a mess, there's a convenient drain for it.

Good luck!

u/msmaynards · 2 pointsr/dogs

I used my pail for the dog that liked to play in water, worked great but he wasn't slopping water from his mouth. Attaching it to the wall took all the fun out of playing with it.

I've always seen a no spill bowl suggested for sloppy drinkers. On the order of this thing but you'd want something larger and deeper. You'd still have to put it on something like a boot tray lined with fabric to catch drips.

Those with smaller dogs often use water drippers similar to the ones used for small mammals. Perhaps you could screw the working end to a much larger bottle. The 400 ml bottle on the linked one is definitely not suitable for your big girl!

Or install a dog door and keep water outside......

u/NorthOfUptownChi · 2 pointsr/puppies

You need to get him one of these water bottles, they're great for traveling with dogs. https://www.amazon.com/Highwave-SYNCHKG071299-AutoDogMug-Blue/dp/B00YNK9VPI

We got ours at a real store (Bed Bath and Beyond, maybe?) but this Amazon one appears to be the same. It comes in super handy!

u/puppybagel · 2 pointsr/dogs

There was a similar thread about this about a month ago and someone posted about this: https://www.amazon.com/H2O4K9-Water-Bottle-Travel-25-Ounce/dp/B004V9YKNE?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0 water bottle. It's super convenient for walks and is a big help in the summer heat when my dog constantly has to stop for water.

u/Badpoozie · 2 pointsr/labrador

I also have this because I have cloth seats in my Jeep and labs shed like crazy. It's great for hiking and river adventures and keeps him from tumbling around. It's held up really well so far.

My lab is the same age and he loves to walk around and stick his head out the window. He rarely lays down but he will once he gets tired enough. Trust me, your boy should be the same way lol. If possible maybe exercise him really good the day before/morning of? That way he's already burned off some energy and isn't so wound up. Of course bring plenty of water. Amazon also has a dog water bottle that is absolutely fantastic and compact.

u/Sieberella · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Oberon looks like a pimp! I love that picture lol. I think this is a great thing to have for a big or smaller dog, it's perfect if you're going on a long walk or just running around town and need quick access to water!

Here is one of our first pictures of Koda once we got him home. That was a rough homecoming lol. He was very mean and had horrible separation anxiety. Now he's much better.

u/redtreebranch · 1 pointr/Pets

They are super nice. I personally have this one and like it a lot because the drinking part folds back down so it’s more compact. Haven’t had a single issue with it. It also seems to be more durable than other options due to it being solid metal. Have not tested how well it keeps ice water cool but I will do that and make an edit to the post.

Dog Water Bottle

What brands are you offering? I saw nowhere on the site where a specific brand/maker is labeled. The current lack of branding it seems that a) you are making all the goods, which I know that isn't true as I've seen many of those goods advertised before, or b) you're porting directly from aliexpress where there is no brand (aka you're engaging in dropshipping. There is nothing inherently wrong with dropshipping but it makes your page slightly disingenuous and could be something that makes people worry about some of the safety claims on your website. You also don't tell people that you are just a middle man. For example, on the shipping page where it you explain that the packages for different orders are different because they come from different warehouses, which is true, but they come from different warehouses because technically they come from different sellers. Also, as you wanted feedback on the prices, they are almost double the prices from aliexpress. Which makes sense, you have to make a profit, but why would I buy from you when I get the same level of instability and cheaper prices if I go directly to aliexpress?

-----
In case anyone wants examples, here are some products I randomly found on the site and their aliexpress counterparts found through google image search:

everything is very pieced together. the treat bag i currently use is the center piece from this tactical belt set, it's a nice small size and the flap is very easy to open/close with one hand. i don't even know what brand my running belt is, it's just a super simple single-pouch elastic belt.

for the bigger setup, i just wear one of my normal leather belts because the running belt is so thin and stretchy. this is the zippered pouch i've been using. i have a small water bottle similar to this that clips onto my belt, found at marshalls for $5.

i bought this belt recently but haven't used it yet. this one will probably become my all-around dog walking belt though.

u/PK73 · 1 pointr/pugs

I have a small version of this for my pugger. Since I take a water bottle with me, I found this to be the easiest to carry and use.
I used to have this but found it didn't work as well.

u/gooberlx · 1 pointr/dogs

You could try one of these portable water bottle/bowl things. I'm sure Petsmart/Co probably sell them.

This is the one I use for hiking.

u/Workan · 1 pointr/puppy101

I have never seen someone use a metal ball type water bottle for a dog, I don't see how they could effectively drink from that.

I have a bottle of this type (not this brand, I just got this link to show you, not sure if these are any good) and I am quite happy with it! You squeeze it and it fills the tray and your pup can lap it up just like he would from a bowl.

u/LaLaLeapYear · 1 pointr/dogs

When it's really hot in summer, I'll dump a bottle of water on my dog early in the run. She's dry by the time we get home, and it keeps her cool. She's got really thick black fur, this works well in the hot sun.

Also, she's picky about what she drinks out of. We tried that Gulpy water bottle and she refused to touch it. Then I got the Ollydog Bottle and now she'll drink out of that little reservoir (I'll put links so you can see both bottles at the end of this.). Something about it being on the ground and not me holding it? I give up. On runs, though, she DOES need to slow down significantly to be willing to drink and it can take her a few minutes to get around to drinking. If you're not going much more than three miles at a stretch, it's probably not even necessary for him to drink during your breaks. More than five miles or so, it might be more critical to take a long enough break to get in some water.

My wife found this bottle to use with our dog. It took a little while for him to understand what was going on with the bottle, but since he figured it out we rarely leave home without it.

We bring our dog's dog bed camping with us. I think it is good for her to have something familiar and a place for her to lay that feels like her's. Also, we always bring a tie out stake and cable to hook to her harness when we are hanging out at our campsite.

Bring the little guy water and something he feels comfortable drinking out (our's loves her Gulpy)of and maybe a dog carrier/sling for if he gets tired and you have to wear/carry him.

Seconding the Kong idea. This is my list, based on the Digital Dog Training Book linked to in the sidebar:

Aww Rotti. I miss my rotti. Pure or mix? Mine was supposedly pure rotti, but he looked more like a rotti+lab mix. We adopted him when his owners decided they couldn't have two dogs and a baby.

Anyway, I need to add more dog items to my list, but here is one that would certainly come in handy for when we move. Perdy's gotta go on a 1,000+ mile trip in a uhaul and she'll need a convenient way to stay hydrated. Plus it'd be nice for walks since we probably won't have a yard for a while.

Edit : Dopey Ellie forgot to the raffle phrase.

For sure. We have to keep our walks super short in the summer, and we have one of these guys, which I totally recommend to everyone here: http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B008X8P420

Edit: Also, I didn't add the pictures where there is a visible water spot from us dumping water on him :)

u/TheManSedan · 0 pointsr/reviewmyshopify

I would say:

  1. If you are truly invested in your business you should expect to spend more than $500. So don't quit here if you are dedicated.
  2. Most of your items I've seen elsewhere, like on Wish. Which makes me think they are sourced directly from China. Except they seem kind of expensive? Some examples here:
    1. Rubber Chew Ball - $15 ( On Sale ) . I can get twoon amazon for $11
    2. Hair Remover - $25 ( Marked down from $50 ) Amazon $19.95
    3. Travel Bottle $25 - $30 Same Exact one on Amazon. $11

I know its tough to compete with Amazon & other large vendors. But when you are selling cheap products sourced from China, that's who are you competing with. If you want to charge more for your products you need to have higher quality products. As soon as I looked at your store I recognized 95% of your products ( as a pet owner ) because I've seen them on Wish, Amazon, and Chewy. There's no reason why I would shop at your site over those 3.
