Hi everyone! Here is the link to these Ecoline brush pens on Amazon.

The paper i'm using is here. It's super smooth and perfect for brush lettering.

The nail polish is Superchic Lacquer Trap Queen ($14).

I am also a fineliner/marker user! Disclaimer: I don't think I'm going to answer your question, but provide my experience.

I upgraded from microns to copic multiliners recently because my markers were frequently smudging my linework and I found the ink flow to vary from pen to pen and session to session.

Also, started out using some cheap Faber Castell markers and upgraded to Copics, and the difference is night and day (second disclaimer: these are both from over a year ago). See how the marker ink on the copics more evenly bleeds through the paper, instead of the clumps in the first picture?

I guess this is my longwinded way of saying, some tools are crazy expensive for a reason. You don't have to go insane and buy the huge sets outright. Just a pen here and there. I started out with a copic greyscale set which comes with one of their fancy pens just to try it out and I haven't looked back.

Sorry if this wasn't the answer you were looking for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A set of brush-tip alcohol markers (Spectrum Noir or Ohuhu if you want to save money, Copic or Prismacolor if price isn't an issue) and a pad of marker paper. At 12, I'd probably skip the super expensive ones and get this set and get some Canson marker paper or bristol board to go with them (paper type is important with alcohol markers).

Maribu Art Caryons are a lot of fun. They're nothing like children's crayons. They feel a lot like oil pastels when drawing with them on paper, until you add water, then they behave like watercolors. You can buy them individually or in four packs.

i found these in the virgin store but if you cant find them there, here is the amazon link

If you want to blend markers smoothly, you need a colorless blender. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube with tips on how to use them, but the big one is, clean it by scrubbing it on a clean piece of paper or board every time you use it. That doesn't mean use it for a couple of hours and then clean it. It means after each and every use, just as if it were a brush you were using to paint with. As long as you're blending, say, a particular red, you can keep using it. But if you want to switch to blue, you have to clean it or you'll end up getting a bunch of red mixed into the blue.

We bought these on sale from Amazon but here is a link :D

Glad to be of help!

I appreciate the embracing of mistakes and not laying everything out beforehand. I would encourage finding something similar but that is capable of creating blacker blacks than a ballpoint. Something like more traditional pen and india ink or some nice art markers, I have this set of Copic markers that I really like.

Looks really nice especially for only two weeks, but if you like the micron brush pen you should try out the prismacolor one. I haven't used the micron in a while, but I remember really disliking how "squeaky" it felt. The prismacolor lays ink really nicely while still being a simple, disposable non-bristle brush pen.

Prismacolor and copic are what I use. I get different shades from both brands so I can't recommend one over the other. I started with a few prisma color grays and then got a pack of 24 colors. From there is was like an addiction picking up single markers every time I went to the store. Give me about 20 min and I'll update this post with some good starter packs. :)

UPDATE:

For gray's I would start with Copic Neutral Gray - 6 set. If you have a Hobby Lobby near you they have a 40% off coupon and you can get that pack for $25. Check their site offten because they have that coupon a lot. Or you could get The prismacolor neutral gray

For just skin tones you could get Copic Skin set1 but I only use 3 of the markers from that set for skin. I use Copic E00 E11 YR61 R20 and Prismacolor Light Peach for skin. You could easily get away with just E00 and prismacolor light peach. Thats all I used for the skin in this picture.

If you're looking for a full color set this is what I have.

If you don't want to make a big investment I'd say grab a prismacolor cool gray 30%, Prismacolor warm gray 30%, a Prismacolor Light Peach, and a copic E00 skin white. Those 4 markers are a great starter set imo.

You may also want to grab a colorless blender, they come in handy for smoothing.

A few things about Prismacolor vs copic. You can buy refills for copic but in my experience copic dries out faster than prismacolor. You can also buy replacement tips for copic markers.

You can refill BOTH markers with a little rubbing alcohol when they start to dry out, but over time this can ruin the tips.

Sorry if this is TMI.

TL;DR I really like markers.

The Zig photo signature or Prismacolor Premier both are meant for glossy photo paper and therefore work great on lab labels and tube paper! Especially if you blow on it for a couple of seconds. I've had more stolen from me in over 20 years than I can count though, keep it in your pocketsessss!

u/youreabuttface · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Congrats! Selling your art feels amazing.

how about a pen so I can make good art?

Prismacolor 3620 Premier Double-Ended Art Markers, Fine and Chisel Tip, 12 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IFGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SgFyCbBR18BVM

Here’s the brand I use (link goes to a gigantic set in the wrong size...I use 005 size, and I grab them singly from Michael’s). I got them to add “script” to Celestine’s gigantic scrolls.

u/claudekennilol · 2 pointsr/Pathfinder
  • The Pathfinder Combat Pad is a must have tool, imo.
  • If you get the chessex mat, then use Crayola Ultra-Clean Washable Markers and you'll never have to worry about your mat being stained.

Other things I've done, there are lots of free "rpg background sound" websites you can visit. Some of them even have built-in mixers where you can up certain sounds or not. For instance, there was one I visited that had a tavern playing greensleeves. Other than the lute, it matched exactly what I'd expect in a common room so I just turned the lute off and just had the noise of the people, random chair shuffles, random dish clinks, a quiet crackling fire. While this was going on I just had a picture of a common room up on the TV. Likewise I did this for forest sounds and a cavern.

An awesome thing I saw one GM do was take double-cardboard (as in extra thick cardboard, could be replicad by two pieces of "regular" cardboard glued together) and he cut lines for the grid, and spray painted it with "sand" paint. It made an awesome sandstone dungeon scene. And since it was all cardboard he could cut the rooms separate and just laid them out on the table when we encountered each room. When we were approaching the dungeon he had random lego pieces for when we were at an oasis (so rocks and trees sorta thing--not the actual bricks, but pieces that were actual lego rocks and palm trees.).

    Obviously having miniatures, helps.

Other things that look awesome are the 3d dungeon tiles that you see many places, but the ones with walls are actually really hard to play with, so I'd stay away from those (which is most of the 3d pieces).

No problem! If you're interested in them, you can find them here

I'm liking these for the price. Finer tip version here.

Just about any marker I can find! I especially like the [crayola super tips](Crayola Super Tips Washable Markers, 100 Count, Bulk, Great for Kids https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071CP6X88/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_I28-zbVDGYVQT) and any brush tip marker (dual tip) work nicely too for any kind of calligraphy stuff!

u/vuxnomica · 1 pointr/functionalprint

No these are prismacolor markers.

But they are just as fat as a paint pen

u/sasquatchinheat · 1 pointr/doodles

Hey dude. There is a lot of promise in here. I think it would be worth getting it yourself some better art supplies!

You might really enjoy markers. There are smaller sets of this line, but they are a decent quality Chinese cheap brand.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L9YRB17/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_xryJDbVD3BNH1

And some affordable paper to go with

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SN0PI88/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ltyJDbRSN8XMQ

Also get yourself some good pens. I like microns.

Anyways you commented on my post so I thought I would chime in on some of your work. Keep drawing my dude

u/dmcindc · 1 pointr/AdultColoring

I bought this 168 set on amazon. I did receive 168 markers, but one was a duplicate and one color was missing. I contacted the seller and they said they are sending me the missing one. So far these markers are working great.

I also picked up these gel pens from Costco for $14.97. That's an amazing price.

I recently just ordered some ultra fine Sharpies and Bics, for use in more detailed coloring books, but haven't received them yet.

u/vinspee · 1 pointr/userexperience

I have these for that job:

Primsacolor Premier Double Ended Chisel Tip and Fine Tip Art Markers, 12 Cool Grey Colored Markers (3622) by Prismacolor http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007YLFC6/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_bXWutb0K6X04H

Artsy for life!

I've been avoiding Copic markers for years and years because they're so expensive and I've always thought, "whatever, they're just markers." I've always loved charcoal and paint but as I've developed my style, realized they were never quite what I was looking for. So I said fuck it and tried some markers, and I'm hooked lmao. It's like painting, but with less mess! They're vibrant! Blendable! Easy to fill in and detail! No cleanup! Simplicity! It's everything I ever wanted in a hand held art tool!

This little set here would help me with my current illustration.

u/petzl20 · 1 pointr/videos

If you're looking for the products he used, don't! It's all extremely expensive, apparently professional-grade stuff.

Why are you still reading? Go away!

Okay, you wore me down. Here they are:

Copic Marker SB12 12-Piece Sketch Basic Set $52.00. There are many, different other sets, but this is a representative selection. Other sets are greater sizes, specific color ranges (eg skin tones).

Copic Multiliner SP Waterproof Pigment Ink Pens Set B, Pack of 4, Black Ink (MLSP4B) $32.00. Again, other different selections exist with different nib selections.

Copic Sketch Marker - 1PK/Colorless Blender $9.00.

u/TheGreat_Deku_Tree · 1 pointr/trees

I used a brush pen to write it, here is the original sketch. The pen I used is called the Prismacolor Premier Brush Tip Marker.

u/pkp_674 · 1 pointr/XWingTMG

Those work really well. These are great too

Note that the Pigma Microns can take a minute to dry, so you have to look out for smudging and I'd recommend seal-coating the model afterwards.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/crochet

I use these, and I have yet to ever have them fall out on me... I lost maybe 2-3 of them due to my own carelessness. Paperclips and bobbypins seem like a good idea but honestly sometimes when I work on tiny pieces like arms and legs for toys... I dont want those under my hands getting in the way. It's only $5.

Edit: Crochet stich marks also have to be split into a C shape... the other circle ones are meant for knitting and you wont be able to use them for crochet.

u/Moocowz · 1 pointr/Gunpla

I'm not sure... I've only ever used 005 since every other pen seemed too thick, but those were smaller 1/144 kits. In general smaller is better, but honestly I'm not sure for 1/100 MG kits. I did find this though:

http://www.amazon.com/Millennium-Black-Pens-5-Pkg/dp/B000FAHEWM/ref=sr_1_5?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1314150531&sr=1-5

It has a 005 as well as some other sizes so you're sure to get one that works for what you're doing. I've used this brand on painted HGUC models in the past.

u/TheRemixedLife · 1 pointr/funny

Well I did look her in the eye. just probibily not how you might have imagined it. I was brought up to always look people in the eye when you talk to them. I guess the only option I can provide as proof is a sample of my handwriting and the pen I used. Amazon link to the pens I had. used the .005mm, my favorite.

u/see_fox · 1 pointr/blackbookgraffiti

it's such a pain to get that saturation with colored pencils. there is a prismacolor blending marker, although i've never used it. i'd imagine it helps with blending similar shades together but not making a gradient with one color.

u/thatdrunkgirl · 1 pointr/FashionDesign

Everyone says "better markers" but they don't really help. You can get great markers and still do that. Try a blender marker!
