There is actually a decent sized portion of the demographic who are childfree after infertility. OP might find some good support among them. I am cf by choice myself, but did a quick search and this looks like it might be a good resource for them.

I am not qualified to judge his interpretations of the evidence, but I find John Allegro's theory that Christianity arose out of a hallucinogenic mushroom cult of ancient Jews pretty interesting.

I haven't read this so I can't personally endorse it, but it has really good reviews on Amazon and the Kindle version is free right now (in the US). "The Two Week Wait Challenge: A Sassy Girl's Guide to Surviving the TWW" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HN91Y5U/

The author has suffered domestic violence and infertility, so I expect it to be appropriate for us and not just a TFAB newbie type crowd.

Hi. First don’t say it was a stupid decision. It was a decision that you made that you thought was best for you at that time. We all have made that decision in one way or another. Some of us will have a similar regret later or still toil with the idea of giving up, myself included.

Second, I’m sure others will post something more than me but I saw on here once about a book called “Rocking the life Unexpected”

https://www.amazon.com/Rocking-Life-Unexpected-Meaningful-Fulfiling/dp/1493607278.

I’m still on the first couple chapters so I’m not a pro at this unexpected life but take a peek to see if it’s something you could see yourself reading. I liked the first chapter and you’ll see how relevant my first statement means. We all are here because of a decision one way or another so post away, you belong too.

Absolutely. Perhaps it was due to intentional ingestion of mushrooms or other psychedelics. Some theorize that our ancestors may have been under the influence of psychedelics when they saw God - "The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross". Terrance McKenna theorized that mushrooms were responsible for the emergence of language. Google Stoned Ape Theory.

The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross

a GREAT book by John Allegro that if you are at all interested in this type of stuff I would 100% recommend. Whether it's true or not I'm not going to speculate, but there is some very interesting "evidence" (evidence in quotes since he is using paintings and the bible for reference) that seems to support his theory.

also as a follow up, by Jan Irving and directly reviewing and critiquing The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross is: The Holy Mushroom: Evidence of Mushrooms in Judeo-Christianity

u/phoresy · 2 pointsr/Drugs

That makes a lot of sense. There is a writer that contends that Jesus was actually a Psilocybin mushroom. His name escapes me at the moment however he wrote a serious historical account of this. Also Terence McKenna has mentioned more than once that the sacrament in the Roman Catholic tradition is actually fake and the the mushroom was/is the real sacrament.

Edit: it might be this book

I don't know but it could be Ben J. Wattenberg. He wrote a book called Fewer and was an episode of John Stossel's show.

Here is a good list of sources for anyone that takes interest in this. I don't consider all of the information to be 100% correct, but I think it is a far better explanation than "the Bible is the literal word of God" or "the Bible is a work of fiction."

Thomas Paine’s Origin of Free-Masonry
"The Christian religion and Masonry have one and the same common origin: both are derived from the worship of the Sun. The difference between their origin is, that the Christian religion is a parody on the worship of the Sun, in which they put a man whom they call Christ, in the place of the Sun, and pay him the same adoration which was originally paid to the Sun"

Links to Alvin Boyd Kuhn and Gerald Massey archives

"Alvin Boyd Kuhn and Gerald Massey have done a lot of research into the myths and religions of this world.

Alvin Boyd Kuhn wrote many books documenting his in-depth research into the pagan origin of Christianity. You can find an overview of his work here

Gerald Massey was the teacher of Kuhn. Massey was one of the few truly independent researchers of religion. He was known for his vast knowledge of religious symbolism. Among his works you can find research respecting ancient Egyptian civilization (see: Massey lectures) and its symbols. He wrote about the Christian belief too. Take a look at his work"

(many books written today on this subject, like those of Acharya S,. are mostly based upon the works of these two men)

Not at all. I feel this way all the time. Two of my best friends just told me they are pregnant and it shattered me. I highly recommend reading the book Infreakinfertility. It helped me sort through my feelings of jealously and understand that there may always be a pang of sadness when you hear of someone who is pregnant and doesn't have to go through the same things you did. Best of luck to you, friend. Hang in there.

Not too long ago I read "It Starts with the Egg" by Rebecca Fett and it was amazing. It was an informational read for TTC and not a fun read though.

The most recent book I read is "What to do When You Can't Get Pregnant" by Jennifer Hanin. It's pretty much what it sounds like as an informational introductory infertility read. It was pretty good for what it was though. It was interesting enough that I read it in one sitting.

Also see this book The Mushroom and the Sacred Cross.

Edit: I forgot to put [funny] in the title.

u/exposure_therapy · 1 pointr/infertility

There's also an IVF WTF?! coloring book, but I prefer the versatility of Swear and Relax. :)

OMG, no Follistim? That sounds so much more affordable than the antagonist protocol!

u/Grand_Nagus_Zek · 1 pointr/worldnews

Your right. I watched the author of Fewer on CSPAN talking about how low population growth would be bad for business.

u/nhmejia · 1 pointr/Infertilityandfaith

I actually started reading Infertility: Help, Hope, and Healing, but never actually finished it. I was going to therapy for IF and really liked her, but I got really bad vibes when she would show up to sessions randomly with her grand baby in tow. Seemed a bit insensitive to me. She would ask if it was okay, but really how was I supposed to say no?

u/shifty_new_user · 1 pointr/conspiracy

OMG the Sacred Mushroom and the Cross is almost $1,000 on Amazon! What secrets are they hiding?!

(Yes, yes I know it's been reprinted. You can get a different printing of the book in the post for $35, too.)

I'm planning on reading this \^ during Sept's TWW. Can't recommend it as I haven't read it yet...obviously, but hopefully it'll be a little distraction.
