Quite literally.

I knew someone that had one of these above his toilet. Didn't talk to him again.

i think a better alternative would be these 'fish tanks' none of them are actually big enough for a fish to live in without eternal suffering, but they look like theyd make a cute lil plant holder

u/colormypotato · 13 pointsr/crafts

Amazon sells that exact dome bowl thingy. I couldn't really find any alternatives that looked similar that weren't going to cost you an arm and a leg.

For the water (I imagine you'd have to put in some sort of divider, unless you want to just fill the whole thing up) you could use the technique this guy uses Youtube tutorial

This is the first I've seen that people think live plants are absolutely vital for all fish like having a filter and heater.

OP made an aquarium for his niece than isn't a heaterless 1.5 gallon beta bowl with a gold fish in it. That's more than many parents/uncles/aunts can say. He could have done so. much. worse.

I clicked to see it. It was great until this showed up in you might also like It is a MCM beta fish's dream home.

Judging from the "tank" windows, it looks like the Umbra FishHotel. Probably around 2 gallons.

You could do super awesome centerpieces where you get a glass bowl and put some black glass beads in the bottom, fill it with water then put purple floating candles in there. Super awesome, and in theme with a halloween/Addams Family wedding. Even if I don't win, I really hope you use this, because it's awesome. Haha.

I would put this on Zombie Jesus' head so he couldn't bite me! I would team up with /u/plotbe01 for his medical knowledge and /u/cats_and_vibrators because she can kick ass I'm sure.

Happy anniversary friend!

No, but I saw that one and was tempted! Suction cups are holding up fine. 😁

I use this from amazon. Super easy i leave it out on my kitchen counter and 24 hours later they are hatched. Theres some you tube videos out there with this specific model. No air necessary. After 2 days i clean and set up again with new eggs!

Hello! You mentioned that you had allergies, so I recommend this to keep a lovely little beta fish in because it's super cute. However, in reality -- living in New England, I'm sure you're adjusted to the fact that we actually have all four seasons. Sometimes, it's not practical to use your oven to cook so I really, really swear by my George Foreman.

Best of luck!!!!

That is awesome. Mine doesn't have a filter so I clean it twice a week with some water exchange and a wipe down of the surfaces.

Hmm. I know Petsmart has a glass cube aquarium for bettas that comes in a wooden frame that you can remove. It's a bit smaller at maybe 1.5 gallons though. What are you using it for?

I use this one. For some reason the 'shrimp' one is really expensive? But the catfish and pleco one is the exact same as far as I can tell and it's the one I ordered, it works just fine.

I use one of these, don't know if it's available where you live. It's a bowl the size of a regular food plate where you hatch brine shrimp. It has a clever mechanism that makes the hatched shrimp go for the middle of the bowl where you can easily lift them out with a little sieve.

If you regularly clean it, it doesn't smell at all. Con is, you don't get a whole lot of shrimp, I'd say one of these bowls, filled one time, yields enough shrimp to feed 15-20 fish in the 2-4cm range for 2 days, then you need to clean it and refill it.

Edit: it is available in the US if that's where you're at. Some more info.

Gah I can't pick just one! I have so many cool things on my wishlist, so I'll give you a couple of options for coolest things :P How about an ice tray that makes Death Star shaped ice? Or a fish bowl you can mount on the wall? Or a hedgehog shaped cheese grater? All of these things are under $15!

  1. I recommend this toaster from personal experience but unfortunately it's $60. :/ My mom has this toaster and swears by it, and it's only $40 though!

  2. As for stuff to hang... Ive got a lot of ideas because Ive been looking for me too!!! i love really interesting pieces like this and this. these are really cheap and popular around here (i think theyd be super adorable on the fridge!) I had chalkboard in my old office/kitchen and I loved it. This is kind of silly but Ive always wanted one, haha. You'll probably need a clock, too.

...sorry if i put too many. I love looking at this stuff. If thats cheating, feel free to only count the first haha

  3. Hard to pick an item without knowing price range! Haha

I and my wife are aquarists. I own a koi beta myself and it's really common to run into people that think that betas are just designed to look good. In my case, I have a 1.8-gallon classic bowl, with a marimo, a light bubbler, and some decor she can hide behind. I suggest you get a tank similar to this. Get a marimo a small bubbler, depending on how cold your house gets a small heater. After that just get some easy to clean rock and some decor your beta and you can be happy with. It may cost some cash but if done right your beta will look much better, instead of a fish that practically sits all day it will move around and depending upon the attitude will even play or act friendly. There actually intelligent for domesticated fish so if they are happy they can pick up a personality more so then most.

Edit: Enough of the attacks. I'm looking into it. I've never had any issue with my fish in the past and they have all lived long fishy lives. If there is a better way then that's cool, we will learn and improve but attacking me about it does nothing to help. Please stop.
