Firstly, you need to upgrade your memory as some games can be over 1gb even after compression. You will want to buy from Sandisk, as they have the best quality/price. I use an 8gb and carry about 6 games + 50 more snes/gba/nes games and a couple TV episodes. You will never need more than that on your commute. http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-8GB-Memory-Stick-Pro/dp/B000UZH7P6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334200393&sr=8-1

Read this and apply the new custom firmware:http://www.reddit.com/r/PSP/comments/q93x6/comprehensive_guide_to_hacking_your_psp_20/

Next, to play PSOne games, you need to follow this guide. Get the one that supports 6.60.
http://forums.dashhacks.com/ps-one-psp/298694-popsloader-pack-6-xx-pro-cfw.html

Now go to: www.thepiratebay.se (alternatively, demonoid.me)

Search "Dissidia 012: Duodecim" or any game you desire to play, always sort by seeds... download it, compress it to a CSO with this:

http://psp.dashhacks.com/downloads/psp-iso-compressor-v14
(make sure you choose the right compression method when you use the program. should be iso -> cso, and I don’t think that’s default.)

Open up your memory stick, make a folder called ISO in the root folder (where you can see the PSP folder), and put your cso/iso files there.
Boom. You're a hack master.

ALSO, if you want to play any of the PSN games including the PSone Classics, go here (get tetris!):

http://www.pspiso.com/showthread.php?1066688-FAST-amp-DIRECT-DOWNLOADS-FROM-SONY-SERVERS-share-your-game-collection-in-10-minutes!

You have to sign up. Start at "Instruction #2". The programs you need are included near the top of the post.

Let me know if you get stuck anywhere while doing all this. It's fairly convoluted but well worth the effort.

Edit:
For SNES emulation:

or just click this as it's the best one:

If you want others, just google around.

I've had a hacked PSP for about 4 years now, so I can give you additional help if you need it still...

I believe the most you can do on 6.2 is use the Half Byte Loader without a Pandora battery

I can give you more help if you PM me (yes, I know where you can get games, but I'm not posting links openly)

Once you hack it, you'll want to install 5.00 M33-6 or 5.50 GEN-D. GEN-D is more popular because it's newer, a lot of the old die hards using 5.00 M33-6 for homebrew, which shouldn't be too much of an issue. Once you install custom firmware you'll need prometheus to run the newer games.

I'd recommend getting at least a 4GB Memory stick (it needs to be a MS duo to fit in a PSP.) Sandisk makes the best, and they can be gotten for $15 on amazon.

On that note, since you're a caregiver, you can get amazon prime for free, so you'll get 2 day shipping for free.

[edit] And, regardless, I recommend hacking PSPs because they're really slow reading from UMDs, loading games for memory sticks reduces load times by a noticeable amount.

If you liked the 2000, the 3000 is almost exactly the same, save for a built-in microphone... and no ambiguity on motherboards and CFW.

The best memory card is the Sony 32GB MS PRO-HG DUO HX High Speed Memory Stick, but you could theoetically get 128GB of available storage with a pair of 64GB MicroSD cards and a dual MS Duo adapter.

16 gb for 43.15? shit time to upgrade my 4gb... wait a minute this is .com. hopefully it's the same price in canada...Fuck

u/frank_n_bean · 3 pointsr/GameDeals

Not sure if you're UK, but this was posted on this sub earlier today...

u/BryanWake · 2 pointsr/PSP

From what I understand this is an SD card adapter. The PSP 1000 uses Sony Memory Sticks.

u/neotheb · 2 pointsr/gaming

You wouldn't have to fuck with disks if you didn't want to , but at least you'd HAVE the option to (gee so and so is having a clearance of an awesome title, I can buy it at a fraction of the cost of its original MSRP).

Also yeah no , Large MS Duos ARE cheap as shit. You can buy a PSP-3000 + comparable memory and still save money! Its the Memory Stick Micros (that gasp the PSPgo only supports) that are expensive. Don't forget about all the ridiculous accessories you'll have to repurchase because Sony doesn't like you using standard cables / chargers.

As a 2x PSP owner since the original launch I guess I've grown a bit bitter over the perpetual disappointment regardless of the much improved selection of games/PSN store. If they just fixed some of the media aspects of PSP 1000-3000 series via a firmware update for me the device would much improved.

Unanswered question from the previous megathread

I have a Sony Alpha Nex 3 and it used to use these memory cards which, of course, are no longer in production. The camera refuses to recognize 3 different brands of SD and Micro SD cards with adaptors...Does anyone know if there is a knockoff version of these cards?

u/BeefaloCL · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

I have this one:

If you happen to need a Micro SD card, this is a good deal:

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Portable-Select-Memory-Adapter/dp/B07GKDZQ9K/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1536610130&sr=1-6&keywords=SAMSUNG+T5

Here is a cheaper one:

EDIT: ALSO FYI if you are on xbox: XBOX claims that you have to use at least a 500gb drive, but that is false... It will work with anything over 240gb's

u/handholding_is_lewd · 1 pointr/PSP

Is it the Memory Stick Pro Duo? I believe that the PSP might have a limit to capacity. The Class 10 (C with a 10 in it) is just a speed rating, and should have nothing to do with the card compatibility.

Here's a 32GB one.

u/valthonis_surion · 1 pointr/PSP

For anyone that missed out on the 16gb M2 PSP Go card for $6, the same company has a 8gb card for under $4.

I ordered one last week from Amazon UK. The listed price from them was €39.99, when I added it to my basket it was €33.33. Shipping was €4.95. Total in USD came to $61.65.

They're back ordered 1-3 weeks now, but I'd say the price difference is worth the wait.

u/asdvj2 · 1 pointr/vita

Just so you know. The 32 GB is Out of Stock but you can still order it here and expect them to deliver it within 1-3 weeks.

u/knuckles352 · 1 pointr/vita

Seems to be out of stock onUK amazon from what i can see (ignoring the third party sellers)

u/IAteMyShirt · 1 pointr/ps3homebrew

Like I said don't get the adapter just spend the money on this High Speed fsrdGT Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo 32GB(Mark 2) PSP Accessories https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XHSFP98/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_tH.TDb0S2RZ2C

I own and confirm this one works

u/34HoldOn · 1 pointr/windows

To clarify, is this what you're talking about?

https://www.amazon.com/Lexar-Platinum-Memory-Stick-MSDP2GB-40-664/dp/B000FD48ZK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500264488&sr=8-1&keywords=lexar+pro+duo+memory+stick

What are you doing with it? Are you plugging it directly in to an SD card slot on your PC? Are you using a USB adapter? Or the PSP itself?

u/Caroao · 1 pointr/photography

I have a Sony Alpha Nex 3 and it used to use these memory cards which, of course, are no longer in production. The camera refuses to recognize 3 different brands of SD and Micro SD cards with adaptors...Does anyone know if there is a knockoff version of these cards?

This Sony one is $30 with free shipping.

u/demodummy · 1 pointr/PSP

I was thinking about buying this one https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PRO-Mark-Memory-Stick/dp/B002L2V8LA/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=memory+stick+pro+duo+psp+sony&qid=1555598871&s=gateway&sr=8-6

I'm hoping I'll have better luck with it. It's significantly more expensive, but again, won't break the bank if I go for it. The only thing I wonder about is it being "Mark 2". Is there anything significant about that?

Also thanks for all your replies, they have been very helpful :)

I am going to the Taste of Chicago and while eating a bunch of good food I will be wearing a 1.21 Gigawatts smile. I would like to get this as a gift

u/Stormfl1ght · 1 pointr/windows

I have been plugging it in to an SD slot. I'm trying to upload my memory stick duo through the adapter i showed you but it's not being read by the lap top.
So either something is wrong or I need to use a different adaptor that will work.

u/retnuh730 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

That's a personal observation.

I guarantee you that 4GB memory sticks did not cost $12 in 2005

I bought a 512MB one for just short of $100 back then. They're a memory standard, of course they had price drops. Did you have a PSP back then?

Sony wasn't the only company that made them. I had a Lexar brand card as well.

u/timothylockhart · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

$65 shipped for one with a 16GB mem stick to hold all the games they can run $45 themselves

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Memory-Stick-Flash-MSMT16G/dp/B0013AX2HO

u/dimethylene · 1 pointr/PSP

I wouldn't trust it. No brand name, only four reviews, no spec info on the chip itself (does it even support magic gate?). General rule with memory sticks is to not skimp on costs. I don't mean buy a retail chip that costs like 40 bucks for 4 gigs, but buy it at a reasonable price.

Here is a 8 gb for 20 bucks that works fantastically: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-8GB-Memory-Stick-Pro/dp/B000UZH7P6/ref=pd_cp_e_0

u/JonFawkes · 1 pointr/PSP

This is the cheapest available one that should work with the PSP go
