Alright, here's my current list of supplements which I take like 1 or 2 hours before I start rolling:

  • 2 pills of 120 mg Magnesium glycinate^1

  • 1 pill of 100 mg Na-R-ALA^2

  • 2 pills of 500 mg Acetyl L-carnitine

  • 1 pill of 500 mg Quercetin, 1000 mg Vitamin C, and 100 mg Citrus Bioflavonoid Complex; all in one pill

  • 2 pills of 400 IU Vitamin E, 50 µg Selenium; all in one pill^3

  • 2 pills of 200 mg Ubiquinone (also known as CoQ10)^3

  • 1 pill of 500 mg Nicotinamide (also known as Vitamin B3)

  • 1 multivitamin pill^4

  • Final note: Ginger is supposed to be pretty good for you prior to rolling, so drinking some fresh ginger tea in the day preceding the party isn't a bad idea.

^1 A lot of Magnesium pills out there are Magnesium oxide which has shit bioavailability, get Magnesium glycinate or citrate or one of the other recommended forms.

^2 ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) may be more budget-friendly than Na-R-ALA, so alternatively you can take 200 mg of ALA.

^3 Vitamin E and Ubiquinone (aka CoQ10) are best taken like 6 hours before rolling. Sometimes I remember, sometimes I don't. Otherwise just take them together with the rest.

^4 Not really as important as the rest but it can't hurt to provide your body with a bunch of vitamins and minerals before dancing all night long.

    ---

Before I go to sleep after the party, I take 1mg of melatonin and a multivitamin pill.

24 hours after rolling, I take the following supplements every day for like a week:

  • 1 pill of 100 mg 5-HTP

  • 1 pill of 350 mg EGCG

Try a quercetin complex:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00012NKRC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_zoQL5vBLWloL6

Next year i would start taking something like this a month before allergy season

u/Haddie_Hemlock · 3 pointsr/vegan

I saw someone suggest Quercetin Bromelain in a thread somewhere and bookmarked the Amazon page. I haven't tried it, but it seems to have good reviews. I've also seen suggestions to take the children's version of one of the big allergy meds (Claritin maybe?) because it's in liquid form and doesn't contain animal byproducts.

u/dimarxos · 3 pointsr/SebDerm

for better absorption take it with flavonoids. I take this one

u/okstupid33 · 2 pointsr/gout

I'm also 32. My first gout flare up was when I was 25. I don't know what you've tried but Quercetin is the only non-med which has worked for me. It apparently can inhibit uric acid production in the body. I haven't had a flare up in a year. I drink beer and eat meat regularly. I know it sounds too good to be true. But I'm sure you're open to trying anything. I take 2 capsules with every meal.

Here's a good brand:

Reading more on this RK 15, it is a compound either extracted from chalcone, or is very similar to chalcone. Chalcone is found in curry, and curry comes from a plant Murraya koenigii. Many plants have evolved a defense mechanism to ward off infections. Some of these defense systems also have anti-tumor effects.
Two preliminary studies showing Chalcone has anti-tumor effects:

Chalcone on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Douglas-Laboratories-Hesperidin-Chalcone-Integrity/dp/B007RFEIPY/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=chalcone&qid=1566182731&s=gateway&sr=8-2

So if anyone wants to implement the findings of these college students, give chalcone to your loved ones with glioblastoma. I can not speak of dosage amount, but we know these are not toxic at the recommended amount provided on the label, so that is a good suggestion. 2x the labels dosage suggestion may also be well tolerated. I am not saying this is a cure, but with glioblastoma, you have to do anything you can to keep it at bay. I will likely add it to my father's glioblastoma protocol.

My father takes a supplement, bacopa monnieri which has bacoside A in it. Bacoside A is a terpenoid, a plant defense system, that ruptures glioblastoma cells. Also, bacopa has beneficial effects on healthy brain cells while also killing cancer cells.

it's too expensive for what it is. instead i take those two which, when combined, gives you the exact same content but much cheaper. And yes, it works marvels:

That sounds like a lot of sugar. I'd try a scoop of something like this FruitCeutical USDA Organic Tart Cherry Whole Fruit powder in a cup of lowfat plain yogurt with some walnuts. And lots of coffee..."A large prospective observational trial found that the risk of incident gout de-creased with increasing coffee intake (>4-5 cups per day) "

another thing I tried. Noticed that Jardiance wasn't doing all that much. Started taking Jardiance+Merformin+1000 mg quercetin and that's when I saw my blood sugar drop.

Here is the stuff I am using: https://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Formulas-Cardiovascular-Anti-Inflammatory-Well-Being/dp/B00S59NYT2

Worth a try.

EDIT: Drop below 150. I got to 150 using keto.

I see that EMIQ is actually available as a supplement, and has some user reviews too.

Disclaimer: I am not necessarily advocating its use.

u/dmagikwand · 1 pointr/Nootropics

How much do you want it? Willing to try rectal?
I have dosed a couple of things with success rectally but honestly know very little about quercetin. But, shit, I mean if it had that much effect on me, I'd be willing to go to great lengths myself.

Disclaimer: I have not looked to see if there is any info suggesting this will work, but I have stuff at home to give it a whirl also.
I am not familiar with what MY response should be so IDK.

It is easy to make suppository molds however (assuming nothing has to be done to get the substance active):

Easiest way I have found is (here comes the amazon list lol):

1 suppository mold tray. I have this one below. It is easy to use. I have used it to make 6-7 batches using reduced glutathione.

There are 12 molds each have a 2mL capacity and are pretty easy to work with. By the second or third try you'd figure out how to pop them out without breaking a couple of them in the process.

Food grade cacao butter wafers I find the wafers are easier to melt. Different size options 8oz bag is good for an experiment. 16 oz is better if you have an ongoing use.

Quercetin powder. Again, I know little of quercetin powder. I chose Bulk Supplements because their reduced glutathione powder is pretty good. There are other brand options however that you may be more familiar with.

Quercetin dihydrate 50g bag. $17.96 Prime shipping

Cacao Butter probably 6-7 uses
suppository tray unlimited uses
quercetin bulk powder 9 uses or so....figure in some waste, so maybe 6-7 is more realistic

Melt the wafers in a shot glass. Remember the molds are 2mL each and there are 12 molds so you'd need probably 30 mL of melted cacao butter.....powder will likely increase volume however. Can be used for a partial second batch, if necessary.

Figure out what amount of quercetin you want to use label says (orally) 250-500 mg once or twice daily. Maybe shoot for 350 mg per suppository?

To get 350mg/mL it looks like that'd be 10.5 grams....BUT we don't need that because there are 2mL in each suppository. So cut it in half and use 5.3 grams of powder to 30mL of cocoa butter to get 175 mg/mL X 2 mL = 350mg per suppository.

I melt the cacao butter in a microwave in a shot glass that has some markings on it.
Allow to cool to a reasonable temp as it could be really, really hot coming out....transferring to another container could speed the cooling.
While the cacao butter is very warm but not hot (you'll know the difference), transfer 5.3 grams into 30mL and stir like a maniac for a few minutes.
I like to use a wooden popsicle stick/tongue depressor here. Can be had cheaply in the craft I'll at walmart or I'm sure on amazon....metal spoon is probably fine...probably not reactive.

Company supplies you a handful of cheap plastic transfer pipettes. I've heard of people trying to use them while the cacao butter was still really hot and you can guess what happened.

Best strategy with using pipettes to transfer cacao butter is to cut a few inches off the bottom of the pipette as pipettes generally taper to a very narrow opening at the end...sometimes cacao butter is going to be thick and plugged pipettes are frustrating. An oral syringe is a viable substitute also (normally)

Be sure to keep stirring the cacao butter mixture as you are transferring to the molds so as the powder does not all sink to the bottom and your batch winds up not homogenous.

So, you just load the tray, put it into the freezer for 10 minutes, remove....and pop out the bullet shaped suppositories onto a paper plate. I find that if I overfill each of the 2mL molds so that some of the butter collects on top of the mold, it makes it easier to "pop" out when frozen.

Insert....and, well, if you know whatever quercetin feels like (I don't), you would likely know between 10-30 minutes if the thing was successful or not.

I have these supplies so I'll try it myself. I don't have unifram though.

Thanks for the heads up. A lot of the nootropics vendors have been dealing with some pretty difficult card processor issues and can't carry certain substances anymore.

Ibudilast is certainly the best PDE4i currently available. Neuroprotek has only a small amount of data but it might be worth a try. https://www.amazon.com/Algonot-NeuroProtek-1-Bottle/dp/B0045JB858/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1479055407&sr=8-1&keywords=neuroprotek&th=1

I've struggled with this a lot. I do saline rinses with a neti pot or a squeeze bottle to help with my allergies(http://www.neilmed.com/usa/index.php). You can find the kits that include the salt/baking soda sachets, along with a squeeze bottle at your local pharmacy. Make sure to only use bottled water or filtered water to do the rinse. I also recommend Quercetin. (https://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Quercetin-Bromelain-Vcaps/dp/B002JNK8EY/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1467086009&sr=8-1&keywords=quercetin) Its a natural decongestant, and I usually take it before a run to open my sinuses up. Good luck.

u/uberscheisse · 1 pointr/japanlife

If you can find quercitin or quercitin/bromelain complex, I have seen it on amazon.co.jp, but never in a store. It is the most effective thing I've ever used for allergies, and I get them bad.

u/CampbellArmada · 1 pointr/NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, Tinnitus sucks and as others have said it is permanent. There's not really much to treat it, But I've heard that these actually do help. Pharmacists and doctors both say that they can cut down on them, but that's up to whether you want to try herbal stuff like this anyway.

u/lynxon · 1 pointr/Nootropics

The flavonoid part is interesting, although supplementing in pill form would be a lot easier for me to maintain than through dietary changes. Do you know how many flavonoids you have been consuming daily?

Do you think this (http://www.amazon.com/Solgar-Citrus-Bioflavonoid-Complex-tablets/dp/B00020IBAE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top) would serve as an adequate replacement for the flavonoid rich foods?
