TNP recommended, condor softshell jacket. Not really a rain jacket, but it's a nice all arounder. For something lighter, the alpha fleece jacket.

Google, my friend. Google.
MilSurplus grid fleece is made with Polartec. $25 used or factory seconds. . .
then there is the non grid fleece:
Fila pullover(In costco even less $$$) . I use it for backpacking.
As low as $18 for a full-zip
A little cheat, here's a Melly-style grid fleece with a kangaroo pouch for $35. Though I've seen it for less than $30 at times.
And so on...
I use the full-zips as beater fleece for camping, traveling, or around town as it is so versatile. I save the pullovers for backpacking.

Here it is. I think it's actually the exact one based off the colors and the zipper design. $30 on Amazon.

I would call this varsity style. I wasn't able to find a sweater like the one in your comment but I found some that you might like as well. If you don't mind cardigans you'll find something closer to what you're looking for, just look up "varsity cardigan".

Hope this helped.

Thanks! Not sure if you already dug around, but their site has 3xl and Amazon has a very similar jacket, but only 2xl.

on amazon, charles river apparel has anoraks that i always see people mention for cheap. like $20-30.

here's some variants

basic but thin

sort of thicker, has a liner

stripes boii

can't personally vouch for them, but you can probably dig up some fit pics around here. looks decent and cheap.

edit: ho 2 format

I recently got invited to go on a ski trip out in Colorado in January, and I've never been so I'm looking into what gear I need.

I already have solid base layer stuff from other sports but I don't have any of the snow pieces like pants and jacket.

I was doing some research into what types of jacket options there are and it seems like I can either go 3in1, non insulated shell + insulated mid layer, or insulated shell + layers.

While I personally have never been skiing I have a bunch of friends and family that go fairly regularly so I could see myself picking this up more going forward, so I'd like to get something I wouldn't need to upgrade quickly if I picked up the sport.

Some of the specific options I was looking at:

3in1: Northface thermoball

Insulated Jacket + Layer: Columbia Alpine Action + Columbia Fleece

Any thoughts on these picks or anything you might pick instead? Trying to get something that doesn't break the bank but is effective.

A Charles River windbreaker would be worth a try. You guys need to branch out beyond the circlejerked brands around here.

If you want something a little lighter, their Pack-N-Go windbreakers would be the way to go. I'm sure they have the same colors available.

I've heard the Charles River anorak was kind of like a poor man's Carhartt, but don't quote me on that.

EDIT: This fit pic might help. https://www.reddit.com/r/streetwear/comments/4y35k1/pickup_charles_river_mens_apparel_anorak/

There is no single midlayer to rule them all. Between changing conditions, and variance in personal comfort levels, it's really just a matter of figuring it out.

It sounds like your Columbia fleece is on the heavier end of things (perfect for truly cold conditions, but probably too much for "regular" PNW weather). So look for something lighter. Fleece is always safe, but the only real rule is to avoid cotton at all costs. You can spend as much or as little as you like, they'll do the same basic job. The only difference between an expensive and cheap midlayer is stuff like fit, construction, and branding. The function, the ability to keep you warm, is all very comparable (within a given warmth of course).

Realistically, you want a few options so you can tune your kit to match the conditions. And so long as you avoid cotton you can't go wrong. Fleece doesn't even have to be a snow/outdoor brand if you don't feel like paying the premium.

Honestly with winter already here in a cold snap from hell I've been doing the same. Brace yourself!

First I recommend all the thermals and jackets.

Cold feet are the worst second only to wet ones. Invest in good boots and heavy socks.

If you have a thermos or if you are staying home I am a hot-cocoa addict. (Milk not water, melt marshmallows while too hot to drink, keep layering them until you can sip without burning your mouth, add cinnamon and nutmeg on top.) I recommend this to try out, its friggin' scrumptious.

I know this isn't white but did the jacket look like this style or was it more like this? Sorry, I don't know if you're a guy or a girl. :)

Does anybody here know where I can buy hoodies that are similar to this color/design. I've tried looking online but there's a lot of hoodies overall, and can't seem to find some that are heather white/heather oatmeal.

yet again I'm advertising this stupid anorak. I have it, its my favorite piece

u/dillpickle052 · 1 pointr/Golflefleur

I would say black pants (i think dickies work best but that’s just a personal opinion) and then whatever t shirt as long as it’s not brown and then a brown jacket like this for example. I also think the jacket worn open is better then closed so you can see the t shirt. So it would be from bottom to top: brown shoes, black pants, shirt, brown jacket. This matches the brown shoes with the brown jacket so I think it works. If u do makes this outfit send a pic so I can see how it comes out.

Pues en amazon me compre esta en 220 pesos, y una como estas en 197 pesos, no traen logos gigantes o cosas ostentosas, y estan bien suavecitas, comodas, calientitas. Cuestion de buscarle un poco.

Looking to expand my jacket collection for out-on-the-town and cool weather wear. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a jacket in roughly this style? Found one at Macy's and would have picked it up had it been a hundred cheaper. Here is another example, but I'd like to spend my money on something I know will fit and perform.

I was also rather taken with this, but it was also outside my price range. It h as an interesting texture and was light enough for my purpose.

Looking to spend around $100 for some sort of light to medium military/aviation/trucker styled jacket with little to no synthetic materials.

I want to find a jacket like this: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Essentials-Full-Zip-Fleece-Jacket/dp/B0738G223R/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=mens+jacket&qid=1574110681&sr=8-4

But without the fleece material. Also, does anyone know if there's a specific name for this style?

I am also actively looking for a field/barn jacket in sand/khaki color for this fall. I really like the Orvis, but don't want to spend Orvis money. I stumbled across this $50 'look' on Amazon. I'd love to find some tested alternatives to Orvis, LL Bean, etc.
