This is the first time I've ever cracked a screen, but you're right. I'm gonna give this guy a go before I get an otterbox.

u/ParkieDude · 8 pointsr/dogswithjobs

The one I have is a this one. Just something I found at random on amazon. Her mouth is soft, so no teeth marks after two years. I have a hard time grasping things so I have dropped it quite often. I have a screen protector on it, so no marks from my medical ID (looks like a credit card, but use to let hospitals know about my deep brain stimulator)

u/sage6paths · 7 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I found out the hard way. The item that I bought was the Maxboost Galaxy S8 Wallet Case on Amazon. Link Avoid if possible. This also applies to any wallet case that has the card edges in contact with the screen. I had my S8 for a month now and noticed scratches on the front screen. At first I thought I had dropped the phone but the scratches were more in a straight line than that of dropping a phone. I noticed that the scratches were parallel to the card holders on the left and put two and two together. The problem is that the card pockets and the edges of the cards will have contact with the screen and the card will cause scratches. I tried taking the card out and placing them in another card pocket but the middle one will be in contact with the screen. If you are looking for a wallet case that does not scratch your screen cover make sure that at least the first pocket will fit the entirety of the card so that the edge will not scratch it. I'm probably going to buy a tempered screen now which I should have done in the first place. It won't fix the scratches but at least the main screen won't be scratched.

I use the Spigen thin fit case. It looks good, isn't bulky, and has a lip on the front. Only small drawback is the headphone hole is sized for most consumer headphones and since I wanted to use studio headphones (ATH M50), I had to take a drill and carve out a bit at the bottom. It works great now though.

The Pitaka is by far the case I use the most. The $10 car mount that the case works with is fantastic. If anyone wants to buy I can share a code to save you 10%. I like slim cases and I have a full coverage loca screen protector installed too, InvisShield.

Any quickcharge 3 charger will work. Any usb-c cable will work. Get a car battery port one for the car. Yes, anker is a better quality company to go with. If you need to replace your battery go with them, 18 month warranty and very easy to deal with.

I also have a 20000mah battery that has quickcharge 3 port.

I can kill the v20 battery in 3-4 hrs with heavy usage. If you run into problems with running out of battery life and can stand a bulky phone, get a 10000mah lemonbattery. Eventhough I do have battery life issue, I wouldn't be able to stand the size of the lemonbattery.

This Nilkin, very basic but it's actual leather and pretty solid; worth a try for ten bucks. There is no closure flap, which I prefer. Autowake works well for the N5.

I will caution readers that this coverbot, also ten bucks and also pretty well made, does NOT have an autowake magnet. The AMZ description is wrong. The case was okay otherwise and note it does have a latching flap.

u/iLoveCalculus314 · 3 pointsr/consulting

For shoes/belt, go for AE. They make belts that match the exact color of the shoe. High quality belts too.

For wallet, doesn't matter at all just no Spiderman wallets. I personally just a wallet phone case. The vault one here is awesome! I never carry cash around. Only need my driver's license, corp cc, debit, and personal CC. (

u/songbirdee · 3 pointsr/iPhoneX

I know you are looking for a plastic case, but here's one a friend of mine has and likes. I have to say, for me with small hands, the case did add some bulk. For my friend, he says it doesn't feel like it did and is ok for him. Also, he hasn't tried wireless charging with this case, but it is advertised to work with it (must take cards out and open flap).

My friend originally had this case below.
However, after a few months and a drop (from not very high), the kickstand part had snapped off and the corner of the case had cracked. I think that will be the issue with this style case & hard plastic.

I found this leather case, not plastic, that looks interesting and unique. The phone has a case, which is detachable from the wallet portion of the case. Works well for wireless charging with minimal fuss and also for days when you want to go with a slimmer look, but still have a nice case on. It is a bit high in price, but the case looks to be made well and reviews look good (may want to add screen protector, I would with any style cases like this really)

Here's another model from the same company that is a little less expensive, slimmer, BUT doesn't offer the detachable case feature

Hope this helps! 😊

u/evandigital · 3 pointsr/nexus5x

I've got a few. Been using this Spigen one which I like!

u/NickLint · 3 pointsr/Nexus5

I use this one. It fits really well, almost too well. It's difficult to get off but that would be my only complaint about it.

u/sloppymoves · 3 pointsr/Nexus7

I'm going with Minisuit. Even though its not out yet I already ordered this through Amazon. Hoping it works out. If that ends up faulty then I am probably going to go with a small regular bluetooth keyboard and a regular case.

u/Stormcrownn · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I like the maxboost wallet case.

Try this phone case. Room for 4 cards/id's or cards and a few bills.

u/WhiskeyR · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I have this and it is great. Cards do not fall out, completely eliminated my wallet and people ask me about it all the time. Get a slit glass for protection against drops too.

u/mrrossi79 · 2 pointsr/iphone

The screen I would use most of the time would be the front screen which looks tiny and has big fat ugly borders.

Most times I'm using my phone with one hand, take a short glimpse, write or read an imessage or it's mounted in my car for waze. All this time I would have to look at this ugly brick with a small display.

The waze navigation could be an improvement with the big screen, but i don't see a safe method to mount this in my car, maybe there will be some mounts that work well in 2020. But to make it safe it should be clamped on both sides, i see problems with a folding device but maybe it's possible.

The big no go for me is that I would never again operate a phone without a leather case that also protects the display like this zover case which is also magnetically detachable. I don't see a nice solution for this coming. It would be getting too big and unusable. But a device for that much money needs some kind of protection.

This device serves just as an " see, we did it first device". Samsung as always just don't gives a fuck if this really enhances the user experience. foldable screens are nothing new, it's just the first device you can buy. I'm sure every big company works on something like this since it was first presented and we will see many similar concepts in the future.

I found this one last night for the 2xl, and supposedly the 2xl and 3xl are the same size, Anybody have thoughts?

u/LightTreasure · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

The only one I've found is this:

But it doesn't look good. Seems like the cards might get in the way of the finger print sensor and the case itself seems like it won't offer great protection from drops.

u/wyman881 · 2 pointsr/iPhoneX

I bought the Zover case and its amazing if youre willing to spend the money.

u/kd95 · 2 pointsr/askwomenadvice

This is my favorite and sturdy enough for drops. Trust me, I’ve dropped my phone so many times where I’ve busted my screen saver twice now, but nothing broke on my phone. I’m pretty clumsy. Also, holds more cards than most of the others. I have 2 credit cards, drivers license, and thin medical and dental card in mine.

u/albinousrex · 2 pointsr/apple

These look awesome, I just ordered a similar one from Amazon ( but I'm wondering if I should cancel it and switch. I really want a case like this that can hold my ID and a credit card so I don't have to carry around a wallet. It does seem odd that the two cases come in the exact same colors (same color names and everything).

u/justbenny2k · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote9

I got this one last year and I like it's versatility. It's a wallet and the case is magnetic so I can take it out if I don't want to deal with the bulk so I can take pictures unencumbered.

u/tman2damax11 · 2 pointsr/nexus5x

I have the Elago Slim Fit case on my 5S, and now have the Spigen Thin Fit for my 5X. Both are made from an amazing feeling soft touch plastic.

u/eternallylearning · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote9

I am thinking about getting a magnetically detachable leather wallet case to replace my daily wallet. I've seen a lot of people mentioning they might be getting the Amovo case which does look interesting, but the leather quality looks really cheap to me. Has anyone gotten the higher end Burkley wallet cases? If so, what's your experience with them; specifically what do you think about drop protection on just the case and how does it fit in your front pocket with the wallet?

u/Warlord24 · 2 pointsr/Nexus5

I use two cases, the Diztronic TPU bumper that has already been mentioned in this thread and the wallet Case Ringke Delight. I found that I use the wallet case 70 % of the time even though it adds more bulk compared to the bumper case. But when I take the wallet case, I don't carry my wallet - it has card compartments and a biger compartment for banknotes. The other reason I use it so often is screen protection which means I can carry it in my backpack when I do hiking, biking, skiing and other activities. I wear bluetooth headphones so I can listen to music and not miss any phone calls.

u/iseejimmiesrustled · 2 pointsr/essential

i hate tpu cases in general but this one has been very solid.

u/jimbonics · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

Liking this one an awful lot...

This one was nice as well, but I liked the first one better so sent it back

u/UncleKielbasa · 1 pointr/Nexus

Another vote for the spigen - it's been working well for a few weeks now!

I took a dremel to it because my headphones have a chunky plug that wouldn't fit, but a little rounding out cleared that up without issue. I found the seam from the molding was a little sharp so I used a needle file to wipe it down, but that's probably just me being neurotic.

u/Ilikeguitars · 1 pointr/Nexus7

looks like it might be this one

u/b3hr · 1 pointr/nexus5x

if your looking for a case I have this one and really like it. i like the way the finger print reader feels in it

u/akashik · 1 pointr/nexus5x

I use this one:

Spigen [Thin Fit] Exact-Fit [Black] Premium Matte Finish Hard Case for Nexus 5X (2015)

It fits really well and keeps the lines of the phone, just adding extra protection where it should be.

It probably won't take a big hit, but I like it.

Cable: CHOETECH 1.6ft (0.5m) USB-A to USB-C - I have the 1 meter cable as well, but realized I didn't need that much slack.

Charger: PowerGen 4.2Amps / 20W Dual USB Car charger I've had this for a while now - close to 3 years. (I seem to have an older version as my order history says 3.6Amps / 18W.) I bought it when I had my Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 and a company iPhone 4s. It shows as Charging when plugged in - not rapidly but not slowly either. I use DashClock still and it shows as "Charging (AC)" instead of USB, and it keeps up with running Google Music and Play music at the same time on long trips. I don't have the brightness jacked up, about half way, and it will charge will driving long distances.

Case:Spigen Thin Fit Nexus 5x Case I've liked Spigen and I wanted a thin case. I don't have the biggest hands in the world (reason I didn't get a 6p) so I didn't want a case that added a lot of bulk.

Screen Protector: ANSOTT LG Nexus 5X Tempered Glass Screen Protector I rolled the dice as there are a bunch out there and so far it has been fine. I see 2 chips in the protector from what I assume are drops I caused.

Car Mount: Ipow Long Arm Universal Windshield Dashboard Cell Phone Holder This is to replace this mount which I had for about 2 years. The design of this older one used some springs and plastic grooves that the 2 arms slid on and it eventually wore and cracked. The only problem with the new one is that due to the power and volume buttons on side, it has to be mounted in one spot to not hit any of the buttons. The grip is strong and the arm is nice as it's closer to me than the old one - I don't have to reach as far. This plus the new Android Auto update should make trips nicer.

u/Will_T · 1 pointr/pixel_phones

I wanted a sturdy one that also had some space for a few cards. Have had the following for several months and I like it and it has held up well.

u/noobeechurner · 1 pointr/churning

I use iphone wallet case. Carry 4 cards (1 DL + 3 CC's that I use)

u/Se7enLC · 1 pointr/MotoX

I had the Incipio Feather, which is very thin. I later switched to the Poetic FlipBook which is a thin fake-leather folio case.

u/TyMiles2012 · 1 pointr/nintendo

Holy crap I would totally buy this! It's very similar to the cheap case I already have for my Essential Phone. I'm imagining this, but with a cutout for the screen and the physical buttons.

u/Sfkn123 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I still have this:

I'm in Issaquah in the evenings and Seattle proper (next to library on weekdays). I will be leaving for Japan on Friday.

Please let me know what you prefer.

u/slack0ne · 1 pointr/nexus5x

I've got one and it doesn't work brilliantly. I think the Spiegen case I have might be a bit thick for the magnet to grab it well.

Combined with the fact that the vents in my car don't hold themselves firmly in position the phone has jumped off the mount a couple of times. I was tempted to return it, but resorted to finding a position where I could rest the base of the phone on the temperature dial and that seemed to help enough. Still don't really trust it though...

u/LeamNoran · 1 pointr/MotoX

This case by Poetic isn't too bad. Has two slots. Works great for card+ID.

u/jacquedsouza · 1 pointr/xxfitness

I splurged and bought the Lo & Sons OMG bag a while ago because I had this same problem. I can usually fit my gym shoes, gym clothes, water bottle, work stuff, MacBook Air, and small toiletry pouch with room for more things. I usually make a giant ass salad for lunch for the week and bring that in with me on Mondays, so I carry that separately in an a tote bag. It's not ideal but not bad for only 2x/wk.

I travel a lot so here are other tips for downsizing:

  • water bottle --> get a foldable one like the Vapur Eclipse

  • towel --> get a lightweight one like the packtowel. XL is the best size (I say this as a petite person).

  • wallet --> get an iphone wallet case like this Vault one and transform any rewards cards into apps on your phone. If you really need to carry a bunch of cards, I like the secrid card case.

Edit: Its also very slushy/snowy where I live (thanks, Jonas!), so I keep work shoes under my desk. Maybe that will help you juggle your shoes?
u/will99222 · 1 pointr/Nexus5

I cannot bring myself to use a case that doesn't cover the screen, So I've had this Ringke Delight for a while.

I bought this a month or so after the phone was released, and there weren't too many choices available to me back then. The case is very nice, if a little hard to remove sometimes.

u/Mewphie · 1 pointr/minimalism

I tried to take some pictures of what I've got while in the steak and shake drive thru. Bear with me...

the inside

the outside + keys

the phone case ($10!! And good quality)

In the wallet case is my bank card, work FOB, and ID (covered). Also, I keep two checks and a $20 in the cash slip which is underneath the card slots. The mirror is pretty nice for checking for food in my teeth and maybe because I'm a little

The case also has a slim (removable) wrist strap. If I don't have the benefit of pockets I'll use that to keep my hands free. You can see that my keys (car fob and house key) which I keep on a carabiner are attached to the wrist strap. So basically, this is my real all in one. Phone, keys, money, ID, but also a few other things which is nice.

Truthfully, I lately I rarely attach my keys, though. I keep them in my pocket separately or in my work bag because I don't have to take them out with push to start. I guess I always have a pocket for them because it's winter, too.

u/ScreamingVulcan · 1 pointr/nexus5x

Like you, I was also thinking of purchasing the Quad Lock Universal Bike Mount with my N5X. I am sporting a Spigen Thin Fit Case, which is very nice IMO.
I'm not really looking for waterproofing as I am a fair weather rider but I think the Quad Lock plus a tight fitting case should hold the phone secure and suit you just fine.

u/erdkaiser · 1 pointr/Pixel2XL

Maybe a change in wallet case might help?

I use Vena, and the whole back is magnetic.

It's big, but not so heavy

u/Symbolis · 1 pointr/technology

u/FunWithFLGS · 1 pointr/nexus5x

I picked up a slim Spigen from Amazon and called it a day. I'm not so much concerned about drops. I just like that it gives the phone a little bit of a lip around the camera lens and the front edge if it's face-down. The slim Spigen adds a negligible amount of bulk - maybe a couple millimeters.

u/AnesthesiaHood · 1 pointr/samsung

I have [this case] ( and absolutely love it. I had the same for my previous iphone and they're great. I love not having to carry a wallet.

I second the thought about not having a screen cover. I think they affect performance.

u/mrmo123 · 1 pointr/apple

I decided to ditch my wallet and opted for a wallet case on amazon.

The only drawback to this case is that my phone will be 2x as thick.

u/BaseLime · 1 pointr/vegan

Because I cannot find any wallets of that kind in a non leather form. If you know of one please let me know I would really appreciate it. The only ones I found were PU leather.

Something like that.

u/alexpptm · 1 pointr/oneplus

I got this one and a screen protector. More of just a bumper. I didn't want to fatten up the phone by getting a traditional case.

u/PolicePlease · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote9

I like my AMAVO case (AMOVO Case for Galaxy Note 9 {}. Black only. Leather is durable, lasted six months. S-Pen works fine. I carry 4 credit cards in one pocket and it scretched, cards began falling out. I just bought a replacement.

u/chanoelmano · 1 pointr/Nexus5
