Not sure how “instant” you need it. This stuff takes 5 minutes after water is boiled. It’s what I use in my home kitchen.

You can get grits from Amazon UK. As for the sausage, if you can find some ground pork, you can add some ground sage, salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes for a good approximation.

I came to say use corn grits, something like this is perfect.

The best way to avoid stickage is to not let a pizza sit on your peel. Make your skin, and then don't put it on the peel until you are ready to dress the pizza. If you are rolling it out on a peel (counter is a better option), then you will need to lift it off and re-applying corn grits.

Right before you put it in the oven, sprinkle the peel with corn grits, sauce, cheese, top your pie, and slide it into the oven. You should have no problems.

As an after thought, make sure you aren't putting too much pressure on the skin when you sauce it.

If you have Trader Joe's their grits are stone ground or look for something like this: Palmetto Farms Stone Ground White Grits

CHEESY GRITS

3 cups water

2 cups grits

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (combination of cheeses is best; cheddar for flavor, Monterrey Jack for melting, Parmesan, Gouda, Swiss, whatever)

1/2 stick cold butter, cut into slices

Boil water and salt in heavy nonstick saucepan, add grits while stirring. Reduce heat to med/low, cover and cook 3 minutes. Add cream and cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add cheese, stirring to melt. Off heat, add butter, stirring to incorporate.

The nutritional information label refers to 1/4 cups dry food at 170 calories source

You add that to 1 cup of water if preparing it in a microwave or 1.5 cups of water if stovetop source; and the result will have 170 calories.

I agree there is a world of difference. These are real grits you can buy in most grocery stores. Anyway I know you can buy them in Memphis area Kroger stores.

I'm adding another side dish!

• My cheesy grits! Follow the recipe for regular grits, but add some extra whole milk (up to 1/4 the water amount) or cream (much less, but don't be stingy) just before adding the grits to the water. The extra liquid will take slightly longer to cook, which will make the grits extra smooth and creamy. Meanwhile, sauté some sliced garlic and throw that in the pot. Slice and caramelize some onions. When the grits are almost done, add shredded cheddar cheese. You can also throw in some Muenster, Gouda, Monterey Jack, or other creamy white cheese as well. Stir until the cheese melts and incorporates. Serve topped with the onions.

You want Charleston Stone Ground Grits. There is no other grit. The other grits are a lie.
