Hodgkin's survivor of almost 11 years here. First, I'm so sorry. It sucks that you're going through this. It really really sucks. I was diagnosed in July of 2005 when I was almost 20 and went through 6 rounds (12 tx) of ABVD chemo. Some advice for the other side:

  1. Cut your hair now. I actually didn't lose all of my hair but I shed a lot and it helped not having giant long clumps fall out. My hair didn't pass that critical thinning till around Christmas so by then I actually needed winter hats and never used the summer ones I got. I had a wig kept on hold at a shop but never needed it and released it later. I usually wore some bandanas Rosie the Riveter style in the summer even though I wasn't bald just to keep my hair contained. I wore a lot of boatnecks (to hide my port and biopsy scars) and plain pants and the outfits worked well.

  2. Outfits - For me, the day of chemo (usually Fridays) I'd wear a button up shirt/v-neck so they could access my chemo port in my chest. Normal jeans. Definitely wore layers. Many chemos are temperature and light sensitive so they keep the infusion rooms cold. I also found out the first time it was sunny on a chemo day that my chemo made me light sensitive so when I walked to the car I thought my skin was burning off. I started wearing a light jacket after that. Day 2-4 post chemo I was typically worthless. I still tried to make it to class on Tuesday and by my Thursday class I was back to normal-ish. I wore the boatneck looks those days, a lot like your #1 pic. The steroids made me gain so much weight so having flexible waistlines were important. I didn't want to be shopping then (I ended up with immuno issues) and online options were more limited in the dark days of the internet so I lived in what I could still fit into or what Old Navy would deliver.

  3. For my bag I brought a commuter/gym bag. The Lands End one would be good! I have a bag now that would have been great then (by Lug). I kept slippers in there for the 2-3 hours of chemo + appointment, my blanket, my light jacket, any books, etc. Music is good since you are sometimes close to people and don't want to intrude. For me, the hospital had magazines but I'd bring a book or puzzle book, watch the TVs in my cube, and some snacks or drinks were always helpful, even if I didn't want them. Avoid red colored drinks since they'll remind you of the chemo you're getting. I had problems with being able to "taste" things going into my port so I sucked on lifesavers to distract me. I was usually too jittery to do much but I tried to distract myself.

  4. Make sure you have some Netflix queued items that you won't care if you fall asleep in (I recommend HGTV shows) and be prepared for steroids to give you insomnia while you're exhausted. Amazon prime would have been amazing to make sure I could get items delivered if I didn't feel I could make it to the store. My eyesight got a little weaker during treatment so I got eye strain really fast so I sometimes listened to music instead (I think I have a permanent Green Day American Idiot earworm). I really recommend some form of puzzle books. I got hit with chemo brain really bad and it helped after chemo to improve my memory, recall and speed, though it took longer than I expected.

Sorry so long but hopefully it helps!

What a strange service mark but this is actually a business and that nonsense is their MANIFESTO.

They use it on their shopping bags that are also sold on amazon. Amazon Link

Nike sells fairly cheap but durable drawstring backpacks. They are also waterproof. I carry about 15-20 pounds in my bag on a regular basis and is has been holding out quite nicely.

(Not sure if this one is waterproof, but is similar to the one I own): http://www.amazon.com/Nike-Brasilia-Gymsack-Black/dp/B005525ITQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346986999&sr=8-1&keywords=nike+gymsack

May be extravagant, but looking for a canvas bag to store a roadside / emergency kit / supplies in my trunk. I'd love to throw a filson bag in there knowing it's going to last a lifetime, but think that might be too much for it's purpose.

What brands are good filson knock offs or good alternatives? Here are a few I found on Amazon:

iblue weekender

Dreamhunter Canvas

S Zone Canvas

I have bought both of these and I love them.

Messenger/laptop bag (https://www.amazon.co.uk/S-ZONE-Messenger-Resistance-Traveling-Briefcase/dp/B01IEXH7WS/ref=sr_1_49?s=luggage&ie=UTF8&qid=1522500839&sr=1-49&keywords=szone+leather+bag) (I bought this in Green and it looks great for work).

Large duffel bag/ weekender bag https://www.amazon.co.uk/S-ZONE-Capacity-Adjustable-Detachable-Shoulder/dp/B01HO2DQLQ/ref=sr_1_40?s=luggage&ie=UTF8&qid=1522500818&sr=1-40&keywords=szone+leather+bag (I bought a green one for a friend as a present and he loved his so much that I bought myself one in black. I think the green is also probably the best for this bag).

I first saw stuff posted about S-zone on Primer (https://www.primermagazine.com/2017/spend/the-40-waxed-canvas-and-leather-weekender-duffel-bag). I have seen and bought lots of shitty bags and belts made in Asia but with s-Zone, this is not the case. I have genuinely been really surprised by the quality. I think they are also sold on Amazon.com as well. The leather on all of them feels really solid and looks like it will age nicely (I have bought a duffel from Hershel and all the leather on the handle peeled off after less than a year). If you are suspicious of this give me a message and I can send you a picture of the bags that I bought.
