Ok I was curious and had to look this up. Judging by the listing this is supposed to work like a Swiffer and the listing doesn't explicitly say it's a vacuum. It also has no reviews on Amazon which is always questionable. Still ballsy though and I still admire the hustle lol.

Portable suction device = vacuum?
The MetroVac is as loud as a vaccum
Pro tip:
These are awesome. Works way better than a can of air and you only have to buy one. Also great for cleaning keyboards/remotes.
Shame the price keeps rising as these used to be half the price, but I still recommend it.
I bought this on amazon and it works great. It has a lot of suction, and also has a spinning brush. The only downsides I have noticed are that it's somewhat loud (mostly the sound of the suction, not the motor) and that it is a bit hard to clean since it's a canister vac.
Edit: it's also not cordless, like the reply above me is talking about. I believe there is a cordless model though.
I worked in a casino for six years, repairing slot machines for two of those. I know a thing or two about cleaning electronics that have been subjected to heavy tobacco smoke.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/LGq36NHh1PDreVw63 <-- what being on 24/7 in a casino does
[This is the best investment I ever made as far as PC cleaning.] (http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&qid=1427598236&sr=8-32&keywords=canned+air) Three times a year and I'm good.
This dustbuster has a higher approval rating as well.
There are going to be a lot of recommendations from people to hire exterminators, but I would recommend getting the equipment and doing it yourself.
One of the issues is that most exterminators come around once a month, but the life cycle of most roaches is half that, so even if you catch one wave of them, the eggs they are carrying are unaffected and will hatch, grow up, and reproduce within a couple of weeks.
There are basically three things you need to get:
Get some Fipronil Gel: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GESOI6 Super cheap online, and 10 times more powerful than what you can get at the local store. This is what the pros use. Put this in places like under cabinets in the kitchen, near water sources, etc. Roaches like to rest in warm places. Anyplace in the apartment that is warm is a likely base for the roaches. This might be lighting fixtures, around the hot water pipes. Worst of all they might be inside your electronics such as your television or computers. They also like tight spaces, spaces they can just barely get into. Loose papers, inside the spines of hardcover books, the spaces between a shelf and the wall, places like that. Look for the roach shit, that's always a sure way to recognize where they have been hanging out.
The Fipronil on it's own is a cheap solution, but it's not the best. To really go to war you have to invest in a good sprayer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009KM25W You can go for a cheaper one, but I would suggest it's worth the investment. If you solve the problem in the long run, you can easily resell it and recoup most of the cost, though I recommend holding on to it. Remember to let the pressure out when you are done with it, you don't want to ruin the rubber seals on it.
Fill it with Acephate Insecticide: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005662Z6A and spray down the apartment twice a month.
I would also recommend a powerful plugin handheld vacuum such as this: https://www.amazon.com/Eureka-EasyClean-Lightweight-Handheld-71B/dp/B0006HUYGM/ It's powerful enough that it eviscerates the roaches as they get sucked up. A battery operated vacuum is weak enough that they don't die and they just crawl back out.
Lastly, you have to develop the discipline to starve them. They wouldn't be growing in number if they didn't have something to eat. You have to clean *every day*. Everytime you use a dish, immediately wash it after you are done with it. Open up a can of spaghettios? Wash the can out before you throw it away. Only have one trash can in the apartment and put Fipronil in it and keep an eye on it. Don't wait for the bag to be full before you empty it out. Don't leave loose papers around, throw away junk mail immediately. Got a leaky faucet? Get it fixed. Turn off your electronics and unplug them if you aren't using them. Don't leave lights on longer than you need to.
This is *your* war, you have to win it on your own. If you wait around for the apartment manager, or an exterminator to win it for you, you'll be waiting a long time. Why pay someone else to do it when you can use the same exact products they use, and do it yourself.
I've owned this one for 10 years now and it still works great. I use a regular vacuum to clean this ones filter off and maybe once a year I wash the filter in dish soap and water.
We use this one at my work and it does a good job.

Not a bad deal, but personally I'd put the money towards a metro datavac.

Don't vacuum out a computer. There is such a high risk of damaging components. All it takes is for the vacuum to create static and hit one of the components and your computer now has issues.
Use a duster, canned air or something meant for cleaning the inside of a computer. You also don't want something that has extreme high pressure too close to components.
You could even damage components by touching a sensitive spot while the part is in your hands, outside of the case and not turned on. You would likely not feel anything either. The threshold to damage components is significantly lower than the threshold where you will feel the shock.
I personally use this beautiful thing on my computer to clean it out. I've never purchased a can of air ever since.
Okay I know you are talking about the kid, but for anyone interested in the vacuum, I have this one, been running great for about a year. Well it's not jaw-dropping wonderful, but its cheap as shit. Cheaper than the human too.

Data Vac is just a brand name (or model, or something) of a handheld air compressor designed/marketed to PC air dusting.

This is the exact model I have, but its been superceded by a new model.

The cheapest one I see on Amazon is the EasyGo CompuCleaner that Worstguy656 linked already.
I haven't but canned air in the better part of a decade.
Not OP, but I use Nextbase 312w that has GPS tracking (coordinates), speed, your reg (if you put it in) etc. and is 1080p. Very good for not too expensive. There are better models but in my opinion the price didn't justify it.
This thing + built in 110v outlet... Bam, 4k upgrade to touring elite status.
I use this every time. But you MUST turn off any electronic device you want to blow dust out of it, it's powerful.
https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Metro+Vacuum+ED500P+DataVac+500-Watt%2C+0.75-HP+Electric+Duster&qid=1574714913&s=hi&sr=1-1-catcorr
If they are so concern about time, I'd do it at after hours and charge different rate.
Just getting it up off the floor can help a lot. There are also these.
I have this model and it works well. You can usually find them on sale for $40-$50 if you're not in a hurry to buy. As the amazon page states, they're more economical because it's a one-time purchase and then pennies of electricity over the lifetime of it. It is greener though because it doesn't create a waste product and presumable obviates the demand for several cans of duster in the future.
The biggest downside is that these things are loud as fuck. If you want to be super cautious, some foam earplugs are in order. Regular headphones are probably sufficient. Most people would use them without anything covering their ears and be just fine anyway.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/N2-Pro-1920x1080P-Recording-Dashboard/dp/B0742ZV9LV?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_1
I have one of them. It doesn't give 360 degrees, but it's not far off. Put it this way, if that doesn't catch them, you can pretty much narrow down the culprit to 3 or 4 houses. Park a little further down the next day and you'll get them.
Alternative: Find a sympathetic colleague that already has a dash cam. Park on the same street, facing each other.
>She gets cat hair on his pillow
Oh man, if only humans had developed technology to cope with that beyond "discard our beloved pet!"
The rest of that is so gross. Makes me think of the type of personality that whines and throws a tantrum when sex is turned down. And people who boast that a dog's love is unconditional because they can't figure out how to earn trust or affection.
This pet hair eraser hand vac. It is amazing. It works so well, and pet hair is loosened by the rubber grips in the end, so it even pulls out pet hair that's threaded into blankets and the backseat. Worth every penny, especially since we have to vacuum our bedding every day when our dog is blowing her coat, and pretty much every few days during the rest of the year, haha.
https://www.amazon.com/liwei18-Household-Intelligent-Sweeping-Automatic/dp/B07Y46BQZZ/
> Features: The sweeper adopts electrostatic cotton friction adsorption mode, which mainly adsorbs hair, dust and clothing fluff.
Weird.
Buy yourself a DataVac I got mine a few years back, when they were $30-35. No sure why the price is so damn high on these now but they are invaluable if you have tech and need to clean it out without buying a ton of compressed air cans.
Don't waste your money on those air cans. They can get expensive if you keep buying them, and you'll have to let them cool down, because they get cold, and start to lose pressure over time of use.
Get one of these. I have one, and it's amazing. It does a better job dusting your PC, and it doesn't get cold, or lose pressure from long use. Not to mention, it'll be cheaper in the long run. Also, it's environmentally friendlier than those cans too.
Just a warning, it'll be loud, but it's very powerful.
Just looking, [I'd go with this.] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006HUYGM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_s86AzbQ1PDSG5)
If you can, stay away from any vacuum that uses a battery. I have had absolutely no luck with battery vacuums (or hair clippers/trimmers.) The batteries always begin to lose charge and just can't keep a charge longer than a few minutes.
That linked vacuum has a detachable hose to get into tight spaces. Yeah, a cord is inconvenient, but a corded vacuum (or clippers) have never failed me.
If you're referring to this it's fine. If not, I wouldn't risk it. These electronic dusters are designed for the purpose they fulfill.
I have been using this for a while. It is a pretty great device, a lot of the attachments make cleaning my pc a breeze.
I just don't think it would be worth it though if I ONLY used it for computer dusting. I keep it in the garage and get tons of use out of it for woodworking and cleaning car parts.
If you are only going to use it for computer cleaning. Just stick to compressed air. It would take years to pay you back. And by then it might be out of warranty and broken.
yes indeed, a "datavac electric duster" (first stage of most repair jobs done in my dusty emporium)
Datavac
I've registered for the Dyson vacuum for this very reason. My parents own it and have 5 long haired cats and hardwood floors, and it has done wonders on hardwood and their furniture. I have friends with cats/dogs who have carpet and also swear by the investment.
The dyson vacuum will take care of all your needs and has so many attachments that do incredibly well. The one I've registered for is so much cheaper on Amazon as well (but it is still spendier than most vacuums): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HNUFRQC?ref_=hit_wr_dt_vr_md_pt
For my upholstry (for now since our current vacuum isn't good) I actually bought this little vacuum and it does incredibly well for both my shiba and kai on both my leather and upholstered couches: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EYFQ28?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00
Bathing your shiba during shedding season will help with loosening the hairs and make grooming easier.
I also suggest the following brushes that have done wonders for my dogs and have helped keep our apartment clean during shedding seasons.
Kong Zoom Groom - great for top coat shedding predominantly, but does get undercoat as well, just not as well.
Furminantor - Great to get rid of undercoat or loosening it up. Some people say it damages the top coat, I personally have never noticed, but don't overuse it because I do think it can cause balding, but overbrushing in general can cause balding.
Double teeth Undercoat Rake: MASTER at pulling out undercoat without any damage to top coat.
Deshedding tool: This is also a magical tool to getting rid of the undercoat. I sometimes think it works the best of all the mentioned ones for undercoat at least for Kiba, Taro's fur seems to respond better to the furminantor, while Kiba doesn't release as much from that.
Thays just what it's called, and this isn't an enclosed area, it's a well ventilated garage with the doors open at both ends and a stiff breeze blowing through

An electric leaf blower more expensive around $30 but will last longer than cans of air. I see people recommend the DataVac Electric Duster but it's more expensive at around $60.
Check out the Amazon listing for it here.
From the user comments, it looks like it's pretty much a reguly V7, though it has some kind of extension cord on the head. These are meant to be charged by a wall charger, and one of the user questions seems to indicate that you can buy the wall charger separately (part number 967741-02) direct from Dyson.
Alternately, I was in a similar scenario and bought this. Still useful and in good condition 3 years later.
Eureka corded 71B. It's powerful and includes rotating brush head (can run with it off or on) and an extension hose and crevice tool. It might be a little heavier than most handheld vacuums. I was inordinately excited to receive this as a gift. 71B
We have a cattle dog/chihuahua mix who sheds quite a bit, I usually get a lint roller and go to town first then use a reg. vacuum with a brush attachment, but my father in-law sent us this for xmas and it works fantastic
Metra Air Duster from Amazon and you're done. $70 one time purchase and it's better than the canned air cleaners.
Metro Vacuum ED500P DataVac 500-Watt, .75-HP Electric Duster https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_8OHGybPZM038C

It's a bit of an investment, but will probably pay for itself in the long run if you're using it for a business.
Get a Data Vac and do it yourself and never buy canned air again.
softbrush electric vacuum cleaner, they make them for PC cases, they work well on shelves and tight/delicate spaces
this type of thing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCt4ihFa5BQ
but the specific one I have is this:
https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=pc+vacuum&qid=1558030323&s=digital-text&sr=1-2-catcorr
I would recommend, that instead of spending heinous amounts of money on terrible for you and the environment compressed gas canisters, get a blower, like this, or get a small air compressor and a blower attachment. no noxious gasses, and all dust gets blown away, over and over.
When you're ready to get serious: Metro Vacuum ED500P DataVac 500-Watt, 0.75-HP Electric Duster https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_OfNRDb8Q2K32G
There's an attachment on this that's a brush. It's pretty amazing.
I roast with a heat gun in a breadmaker. The breadmaker just stirs the beans while all the heat comes from the heat gun. It is very fun. Clean up kinda sucks, but that's life.
I'd say 5/10 of my roasts are amazing. Better than buying from local professional roasters. I recently got a delicious malted chocolate taste from a Burundi. Seriously yummy. I've gotten blueberry and raspberry from Ethiopians. Sweet and delicious coffee.
4/10 are decent. I'm drinking one right as I type, an Ethiopian, that is... interesting... it has a lime flavor. It's definitely dialed in, not sour or bitter. Not particularly sweet. It's good, but not great. It's about as interesting as what I could buy from a local roaster... a little less interesting/delicious though.
1/10 are disasters. Over or under-done, "off-flavored," just something went completely wrong. Sometimes they're still salvagable... I have a VERY dark-roasted bean that I put a couple in as a blend with other Central/South American non-fruity coffees for dessert drinks. I will probably just cold brew it in a couple weeks. Brewed on its own it is just way too dark for me. It's probably a French roast. I've also roasted one so lightly that it turned pale and never really cracked. Tasted like lipton tea. Had to just toss it.
Overall, I highly recommend heat gun method if you're into the idea at all. It's surprisingly easy and fun once you have your set-up.
PS- you need to make sure you have a cooling solution too. I use a datavac that I already had (https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1522274084&sr=8-2&keywords=datavac&dpID=418XjHwHhgL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch)
And I just put the beans in a colander, put a plate on top, and blow the heat off them.
Good luck!

This is all you need. You won't regret it.
I went through my order history and cannot find it, so I looked on amazon and can't find it either which kinda worries me. I did find similar ones but they are listed as $60. I would pay that in a heartbeat for how well it works and how often I clean my PC.
Looks like this
There is the Metro Datavac: https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ
There is a risk for static and moisture. I recommend buying a specific electronic duster to be the safest.
Just don't turn the can upside down or at any extreme angle when you're spraying it and don't spray it into your PS4 when it's on and running. (Turn it off, unplug it from the wall for a few minutes).
Instead of compressed air, I just bought one of these which has already paid for itself in how much dusting I've done on my electronics.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001U899HQ
*and since you're asking about this, some additional tips - you'll want to clean the outside first (with a soft/microfibre rag and q-tips for the inner edges) then maybe use a vaccuum cleaner w/ attachment to suck out any of the loose dust first.
This thing is amazing
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001U899HQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1499738133&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=datavac+ed500+electric+duster&dpPl=1&dpID=41oNE2XwwwL&ref=plSrch

The DataVac was probably one the best purchases I've ever made. It's super powerful, I just used it last night to dust my equipment.
But it's not even in a sale. The daily deals say "Deal of the Day" instead of "Price" like here and other on-sale items list a "With Deal" price and the price without the sale e.g. this.
Sell? lol. Don't sell people shit. GIVE them small bottles of water, and otherwise keep food out of your car. If you start feeding people or letting them eat in your car, say hello to stains and filth everywhere. Even if you don't let them eat, they'll still make a mess, leave residue and spilled cocaine all over your back seat. Pro Tip: Get a Dyson DC34 (unless you have a house with a garage to use your home vac). Best $200 I ever spent
I purchased the 'pivot' black and decker off amazon about a year ago. It's good for cleaning the car, crumbs, quick pick ups. The battery lasts about 15 mins of straight use, but I only ever drain the battery when cleaning the car. I really like mine as a supplement to the big vacuum. It's designed well, the battery works, and it is a great tool for around the house. Also, cleaning the filter is easy, you just take it apart, wash it, and let it dry.
The one you have a link to is pretty much the same thing so I'm sure it's just as good, maybe slightly less effective if it doesn't have the brush attachment.

You're lucky - when I lived in apartment last they'd post letters about fining you for "working on a vehicle in the buildings lot" if you even attempted to vacuum it out.
I have the earlier version of this Black & Decker Pivot Vacuum. It's excellent. Tons of suction, and a compact handy form factor.
You'll want to keep a couple of the replacement filters on hand, that way when the filter clogs up suddenly you can get it back into service immediately.
This is key. Be proactive instead of reactive to help keep the interior habitable. My truck is my home, I want it clean.
I also use a Eurika hand vac to help keep it clean.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006HUYGM/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Wks-tb10S5YSB
I have it...it made me buy this:
http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-71B-Hand-Held-Vacuum/dp/B0006HUYGM/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1334786791&sr=8-15
It's a sweet vacuum I now use all the damn time, for rats and cars. Sometimes I even spot clean their cage with the hose.
Edit: I work at Petco, I'll pass this along.
The Lindhaus hf-6 has the longest hose right now . You can also get a hand vacuum for your stairs . Like this

aldi's sells useless plastic shit sticks as vacuums.
I use this in the sleeper, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AQEQNA/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_TSk-tb0F4Y1JM
And one of the blower air lines that hook up to the line that powers my drivers seat for quick cleaning up front. Also useful while driving with the Windows down to blow off gauges etc.
I have this : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AQEQNA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and its awesome. I have dogs in my car all the time and it manages to get dog hair out of the ST1 cloth seats I have. Definitely recommended.
This is the best money I have ever spent:

I believe it was this one. It's new, so we've only used it a couple times, but he said it worked pretty effectively but the downside was it was a little slow.
Here is a pet hair vacuum cleaner
How about a DVD of the movie Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes
/u/uss_Turtle and /u/wine-inacan your dirty birds who needs to be punished
edit: This is weird and I'm so sorry
Get the dog hair off BEFORE you steam clean it otherwise it's going to be a huge mess. I use this pet hair vacuum but if you don't have your own pets, this pet hair remover is cheap and people swear by it.
I need this. because I was an absolute idiot when I moved, and thought my Dirt Devil and Swiffer were too difficult to carry.
And I got a dog, post move, and it turns out that hair falls out. A lot! This pet hair eraser majig would salvage any/all fabric surfaces in my apartment. Many thanks, from Fannie and me :)
I'm allergic to both dogs and cats and I have both. This list is more of the "nuclear options" just because of how severe my pet and dust allergies are, but even doing these things on a less extreme scale would probably help:
Edit to add: On the topic of vacuuming, I'm getting this for Christmas and I'm hopeful that it will make vacuuming her spot on the couch easier than hauling the full sized vacuum up there
Awww! Show us the cat please! I have a dog that sheds like crazy too. This thing has worked wonderfully to quickly and easily de-fur my car and furniture: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001EYFQ28/ref=pd_aw_sim_121_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=5A2748TFV9AY0Z9X88SH&dpPl=1&dpID=410YDlgrCiL
I think getting one of these is a better idea. They're stronger than compressed air and built like a tank. If you're not holding on to it tightly, it will kick itself out of your hand when you turn it on. I tell people who use it for the first time to make sure you have a hold of it before even plugging it in. It's got a long cable so most of the time thats not an issue, and it comes with a few attachments to make cleaning smaller things easier.
Also make sure you put your finger into your fans before hitting them with this thing because it will spin them up quick and spin them faster than they should be. It could destroy the fan or send an electrical current back into your board if you don't. Compressed air can even do that, but this things got some ass on it and will destroy them. I'd say is nearly on par with an air compressor.
I bought an electric duster to save on disposable air cans. Also, don't have to stop every two minutes because the can is too cold or lost of pressure.
Air compressers contain moisture I thought? I always avoid using these and actually bought an electric blower to use to clean my pc... no risk of moisture and no depleting/polluting the earth with the canned air. (https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_sc_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1473697371&sr=8-3-spell&keywords=electric+caned+air) usually you can find these cheaper too
Vacuum cleaners are supposed to be pretty bad for some reasons, but my mom used one when I was a kid and we never had any problems on that front. These days though, I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ

They are a little pricy, but they do a good job and you won't have to deal with replacing canned air.

I'd also recommend a small brush for getting the fans.

EDIT: https://www.amazon.com/Brushes-Portable-Cleaning-Keyboard-Interior/dp/B07CQH78NS

Something like the toothbrush looking one will do good for cleaning fans off. Alternatively you can just use a cheap toothbrush.
How much are you looking to spend?
Metro makes a few products, Datavac. They are around $70- $100, but they aren't heated. I've got This Guy And it's pretty much a mini leaf-blower. Metal housing, not sure it would handle too many "drops", but it seems reasonably well built.
There are some car detailing products are also heated, like the Metro Master Blaster that produced a lot of heated air. Not as hot as like a heat gun, but they will definitely dry things.
For electronics you want a blower, not a sucker.
https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ
If it helps, I've used the metro datavac and it works really well, may be worth looking in to.
I use my Datavac that I already have from being a computer nerd, great for blowing out my immersion cooler and other lines, and it's nice and portable compared to most air compressors. That does the bulk of getting them dry.
Most will recommend using a canned air duster (like this). The only thing I hate about them is that they're inefficient for using over long periods of time and aren't cost effective. I'd recommend using a blow vac like this.
My favorite tool for the task is a DataVac - pretty much a high intensity blower. It’s stronger than canned air by a long shot, and even blasts of that extra ‘sticky’ dust. Kinda pricey though ($80 USD)
Dry Fiber + Friction = static so don’t use the wipes you were talking about. Anything you’re going to be rubbing against components should be lightly saturated in rubbing alcohol.
Canned air works alright, especially if you’ve only got a light amount of dust.
https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/
This is better than canned air.
I never had issues with compressed air.
I personally moved to a datavac about 4 years ago and have never looked back. They were $60 at the time but even at $70+ I think they're totally worth it. You can use the things for so much more then just blowing out your pc.

Cheaper alternative
Xpower Airrow
https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ
Metro also offers products with antistatic options, but I've never been concerned, I don't think it's much of a real danger for PC's maybe if your dealing with extremely sensitive equipment. Otherwise I don't think the air is likely to carry a high enough charge if any at all of PC's.
As for air compressors I'd be more worried about moisture which can be solved by purging the air after every use or getting a filter.

Cannot recommend it enough. I've dusted dozens of computers with it, even dusted out an old piano. The thing works like a champ. I can't go back to canned air.
Best Addon Item Ever!
Sorry I forgot to link it. It's a total beast. Sorry for the mobile link. To give you a idea of power...it actually has kickback when I turn it on. People have said they use it to blow leaves off their deck. It's pretty awesome.
Dirt devil vacuum this would help so much for my car, and having 3 monsters
This one is fantastic for litter, that's almost all I use it for.
BLACK+DECKER CHV1410L 16V Cordless Lithium Hand Vacuum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006LXOJC0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Xu7HAb8M3FHAK
I'd recommend making a checklist, something like:
If you need to cover a larger section of floor, Amazon also sells gym style floor tiles. They're basically the same as the kid ones but a little thicker and without any pattern. They're usually cheaper too.
I also recommend that people add a small hand vac to their registries. I have this one and with a toddler it gets used several times a day (by both of us!).
Don't live on the ground floor or lower! I can't remember every having bug problems when living on the 2nd floor or above.

BLACK + DECKER CHV1410L 16V Cordless Lithium Hand Vac https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006LXOJC0/
Not sure if it's exactly what you mean, since I use dustbuster as a catchall term for hand vac and others may not ... but this thing hasn't done me wrong. https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-Dustbuster-Cordless-CHV1410L/dp/B006LXOJC0
(Duh, I just realized dustbuster is literally in the product name so it prob is what you were referring to. Anyhow).
Its best feature is that it picks up kitty litter that doesn't then shake back out when you turn it off. My maintenance guys gunked mine up with drywall dust and it still rinsed clean and works like new. Charges quickly, sits and goes for long times without needing plugging in. I'm really pleased with it.
The only downside is that the slim head that slides out is a little touchy/either doesn't lock in place well or locks too well and is hard to slide, and the little whiskery bit for carpets is kind of eh. But it's a tough little bastard on cat hair and all the crap I spill in my kitchen constantly. Plus SoCal interstate dust through that comes in constantly through the windows. Thumbs up from me.
I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006LXOJC0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You could always use one of these...
For furniture and household touch ups - there is NOTHING better than this tough and light little vacuum. It is so much better than a dustbuster, cordless, and has a million uses (including attachments good at getting pet fur off furniture):

For your floors - a Roomba is wonderful! Let it do its thing every day or two. It will help you keep your sanity. Pro tip - in a few years when it stops working don't throw it out - a new internal battery can be ordered online for about $25 and installed easily with just a screwdriver!
we have this one it works quite well and is relatively easy to clean. the little grey flippy part helps with the fleece suction since it separates the opening from the fabric and helps sweep up the poops. we did have some trouble with this when we were just using raw fleece over towels and we tried to clip/tuck the sides or use one hand to keep it down. pads or fleece flippers makes the vacuuming even easier since it won't suck up the fabric at all its like 30 seconds twice a day for our 3 pigs.
I like the vacuum, it's not powerful but it's good for anything you might've instead swept up, like debris in the kitchen. Had a similar one from Black and Decker, but that one died on me while the Aldi one has been lasting a while so far.
I use the VAVA Dash Cam. https://www.amazon.co.uk/VAVA-Image-Sensor-1080p-Videos-x/dp/B076FVPTLN
The Nextbase 312GW is currently the second highest rated one on Which (the highest rated one is about twice the price): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nextbase-312GW-Full-1080p-Black/dp/B01ELRJW5Q
But if I were to get one nowadays, I’d probably get one from Anker, purely because I’ve had great experience with their other products, and their customer service is top notch when it comes to guarantees. Which would likely end up being this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Roav-Resolution-2560X1440-Wide-Angle-Recording/dp/B072FVX74Q/
One of the main things you want in a dashcam is a GPS sensor, this will log your drive and also show your speed on the recording.

We have a small corded vacuum http://amzn.to/2r9ue92 which I picked based on an earlier version of http://thesweethome.com/reviews/best-handheld-vacuum/
Handheld means crawling around, but we have a bunch of carpet so we need some kind of a vacuum, and we didn't want to store even a small upright vacuum.
I've had this vacuum for 4 years and been very happy with it.
I just ordered this to be overnighted, supposed to be here today. You will need something similar. It has good reviews.
Good handheld pet vacuum
Also, my cats love this and it's really easy to get the hair from Kitty brush!
Here's a link to the product in this week's ad for $24.99. It's currently $28.99 on Amazon. Here's Bissel's product page for the 33A1B.
I just got a handheld vacuum for pet hair once I get around to using it, I'll let you know how it works, if you'd like.
Lots of people don't know this, but Australia and Austria are actually related. Australia just has more guys named "Al," so that's where the extra letters came from. Austria doesn't like admitting that Australia is its long-lost relative, because... well... Australia is often drunk.
The more you know!

Others have recommended this and it would work quite well, and you wouldn't have to worry about water in the tank of the compressor.
One of these is a good start. :)
I have dust filters on mine too but removed them: https://imgur.com/gallery/dOnsV9m (scroll near the middle of album to see them)
I found the temps dropped 5C without the filters.
Instead I have been using this to clean the rigs

I'm trying to get one of Metro Vacuum ED500P DataVac 500-Watt, .75-HP Electric Duster ... Pretty good ratings, not wasteful like other options and you can use it on other stuff. Other than that it's pretty much clean 'em or put em in glass

This is my favorite air blower. I now have 2 of them. Very powerful, heavy duty, muliple attachments, and great for lots of things. Easily pays for it's self if you were buying compressed air.
Having it open like that probably makes it way easier to clean. Also that "case" comes with a side panel.
I use this:

What are you talking about, it getting warm? It doesn't get warm. This thing has BURNED me before. Still 10x better then canned air though, and more powerful.

When you use compressed air, make sure your PC is off. Put your finger in your fan then shoot the air because you can wreck your fans by making them spin like crazy. Happened to me years ago.
If you don't want to keep buying compressed air, you can invest in a vacuum. This blows air like crazy, I bought one back when they were like $50-$60, works great but it's a little loud.
Has anyone used a portable vacuum like this one to clean their records? https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=as_at?slotNum=3&ie=UTF8&linkCode=g12&linkId=cbcf53c926bb2163b4c6ea5759f8c3e0&imprToken=mCPo3.kD7.wc2LUERuWufQ&creativeASIN=B001U899HQ&tag=fabathome0f-20
This is a replacement for canned air and is way more powerful and can be used around the house as well
Same as above except use this: Metro Vacuum ED500P DataVac... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001U899HQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Again not kidding.
Not sure why but this listing has a different picture for the label than other listings, like the amazon one here. But the other pictures are the same and the model looks the same. Can anyone confirm if there are different models and a reason not to get this one?
Canned air is for rookies.
https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1539288742&sr=8-3&keywords=datavac
I usually blow them off with a Metro Datavac blower:
https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1497029449&sr=8-2&keywords=ed500
Then I use rubbing alcohol 70% for a clean, and 90% for a final wipe.
First thing I would do is scan for any viruses. Get Malwarebytes and use that as well.
If nothing comes up with those, I would open up your PC and clean the dust out. Preferably with a PC Vac. Something like this.
If none of that works, you'll might want to think about replacing hardware. Maybe getting a new HDD or switching to an SSD if you don't already have one.
Has anyone used those electric dusters, such as this?
I was wondering if they make the same kind of air pressure or better as canned air.
I haven't purchased compressed air in years
As people have mentioned, Vacuum cleaners create ESD. Seriously people, best purchase you will ever make: https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=datavac+duster&qid=1570393267&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A19NVE4G6SOT2C&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExMDJGMFcxREkzNjFYJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjk4NTY4SVZZUk1DWjZBN0FSJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTEwMTgyMzYzODFFOFVYUEVSWFVVJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
Never buy another can of air.
Instead of compressed air, I would purchase a powered blower. It's a lot more powerful and last a practically a lifetime. https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_43?ie=UTF8&qid=1522214073&sr=8-43&keywords=duster+air

I clean the interior of my PC about every 2 months with a DataVac. As some people already posted, this can be found here.
Now, for your photo. Yes, crevices of peripherals can get very nasty. I am actually surprised someone didn't post this yet, but Super Clean High Tech Cleaning Compound is the bees knees. I use this stuff all the time.
What it is, is a slime like pliable substance that sticks to small particles. You can roll it over keyboards, mouses, in crevices, over fan grills, etc., and it will pull all the gunk out. I have quite a few packs of these in my desk.
Happy cleaning.
this is an awesome device.. like canned air plus some, I bet it would work perfect for keeping this clean!

Friends don't let friends go without buying a DataVac Duster
I've had mine over 4 years now... best PC investment I have made in a long time.
http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ
All the advantages of compressed air without any freezing or residue. This thing works wonders on water cooling radiators and deep fins on heat sinks alike.
You need this.
Get that nasty stuff away and get this instead.
I bought similar electric duster about a year ago called DataVac and it's so much better compared to compressed air cans that get cold and lose pressure the more you use them. The first time I used this thing dust was flying out places the compressed air could never get to. Works great on other stuff around the house too.
i bought a metro vac from amazon years ago. got in on sale for around 45. it has paid off with cleaning 4 very dusty pc's every few months
Buy a little spray bottles like this. Then fill them half with rubbing alcohol and half distilled water. Then just use dust fee cloth. You can also buy a bunch of them give them away as gifts. Super easy and cheap!
I buy and sell some electronics. I have use this spray and never had any problems. That spray combined with this electronic duster and I'm set for life!
Dust is nothing really to worry about. You just need to clean it out every now and again. You can use something like this instead of buying those compressed air cans.
I use a pool pump. It might be as powerful as the one I linked but it does the job ok. I may pick up that duster at some point when I can afford too.
I use a Metro Vacuum ED500P DataVac 500-Watt, .75-HP Electric Duster https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001U899HQ/
I would recommend just buying one of these.
I would recommend spending more, one time up front, and getting a snall blower instead of spending a bunch over your lifetime on compressed air.
This for example is great for cleaning PCs. I'm sure you can find cheaper alternatives elsewhere, but this is what I've used for years.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001U899HQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524506805&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=datavac
I've had one for a while now and it works wonders for keyboard, case, cats, small plant matter in the driveway, etc.
But seriously, it's great.
personally I bought this a few years ago, open the case up and blow it out every couple of months. Though I really need to consider a modular powersupply since dust likes to hide behind the cords.

This is what you need. Get window screens and leave your coat/shoes by the door.
My mother bought my wife and I one of these from Black and Decker. I've been vacuuming grinds with it for a year, no problems. I've only gone as fine as a Bodum Bistro grinder can go though, so if you have something that goes much finer, perhaps it would jam this thing up.
https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-CHV1410L-Cordless-Lithium/dp/B006LXOJC0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484541958&sr=8-1&keywords=CHV1410L
I wish i could recommend the vacuum we own but it's sadly way too pricey. If you're interested in the type it's a miele canister vacuum, I highly recommend it because they work so well but it's quite pricey. I think the lowest price is $299.
For ones that aren't that high priced you might try out this handheld vacuum to quickly suck out any pet hair that may be on furniture.
If you're looking for a larger vacuum that is upright and a lift-away this one might be useful to you. It's lightweight and comes with pet tools.
If upright vacuums aren't you're thing you might like this canister vacuum. It's compact and appears to have an easy empty dirt tank so you might not need to buy vacuum bags which will save you some money.
You should add this adorable little HP pillow to your wishlist :D

Thanks for the response.
Can you elaborate on how exactly cat litter damages a vacuum? We just bought a new Sebo vacuum that we're happy with, but since it was quite expensive, we're trying to find a separate machine to use for the litter.
The Whoosh looks nice, but event that's big. We're really looking for something like this: http://www.amazon.com/DECKER-CHV1410L-Lithium-Cordless-Buster/dp/B006LXOJC0
Should we just assume that anything we buy would break down quickly due to the litter and just go with the cheapest option that would be powerful enough to suck up the litter?
I use a long-handled Swiffer duster thingie (it traps dust instead of just moving it around and has an extendable handle so I can reach up high or down low (without bending over).
That being said, air filters will make a big difference at least with circulating dust if not pet hair. If you have central air/forced air heat (ducts) make sure there are good filters on the main unit and they are changed regularly. We have electric heat so this isn't an option for us, but since I have dust mite and pet dander allergies, I have a powerful HEPA air filter for the bedroom. For general cleaning, floors are vacuumed with a Dyson (which has lifetime HEPA filters) - including hardwood and tile, we never sweep just vacuum, since it seems faster and better gets all the cat fur (we have 3 cats). We have the Dyson Animal upright, which we got refurbished to save money. I also recently got a DustBuster with an extendable nozzle, which is great for getting dust/debris on surfaces and in between fully vacuuming the rooms. It doesn't have HEPA filters, but does have filters that seem to trap dust well. This is what I have: http://www.amazon.com/DECKER-CHV1410L-Lithium-Cordless-Buster/dp/B006LXOJC0/
It's not cordless, but it has a long power cord you plug into your car. I generally use a shop
Vac, but keep this in the back of my car for light cleaning.
Small Car Vac
I also have had this for household use for 3 years now, but it does well for light cleaning in the car:

Cleaning tips!
Here's a great starter kit ($25) for washing / polishing / waxing your car's paint: Amazon link - everything you need except a hose, bucket, and wash mitt.
Keep all windows clean. Keep your wipers clean (yes you have to clean them too). Stoners Invisible Glass and Rain-X on all windows.
Separate all towels. Don't mix your wax towels with your glass towels with your interior towels. You can get some in different colors to help separate them. You need to own a lot of good microfiber towels and separate and label them, keep them clean and dry. Recommend stocking up on Meguiar's Supreme Shine towels: Amazon link You want your towels to contain 17-30% polyamide (nylon), and the rest polyester. Polyamide is what give microfiber it's soft feel and absorbency.
Cabin air filter, change it every 15k-20k miles. These are what your air conditioning is filtered through and it gets dirty. So replace this and you'll have cleaner cabin air!
Vaccum the inside of the car on a regular weekly basis. Dyson DC34 handheld vaccum is the best thing ever: Amazon link Also some oxy-clean car fabric/upholstry cleaner works great for cleaning the car seats once a year- just make sure you dry it and run the A/C.

or
If you are willing to replace it every year or so
My dog has similar fur, and we use a zoom groom rubber comb to get as much fur as possible out. He'll sit for the rubber brush over any other type.
We also bought a handheld dyson. I do a quick cleanup of hair balls around the edges of furniture and along walls once a day. It's been really helpful. It's a bit pricey, but so convenient. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006WS39NE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AP9RJY7ICRCTK
What about something like this: https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-BDH2020FL-Lithium-Brush/dp/B00CCYLBZ0/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1483822210&sr=8-11&keywords=black+and+decker+cordless+hand+vacuum
I got the B&D Lithium portable chargeable vac and really love it.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CCYLBZ0
grabbed it when it was on sale. I REALLY love it. works better than I expected it too which is nice.
A total of 7 separate orders. It was a bit annoying because I was mostly on my phone and the mobile apps/chrome wouldn't load properly. Also I would have preferred to bundle orders but oh well. or try to use more coupons but they only give you so many minutes in the cart and sometimes the next item that you're waiting for a deal to start is right outside that window.
I used the Visa30 coupon for above.
Spoga Mop, Broom and Sports Equipment Organizer Wall Mount - $10
I missed out on the $50 gift card because I didn't have the physical credit card with me and it asked for the full card number. I also wanted this Anker BT Speaker but it went pretty fast and everytime the waitlist message popped up on my phone the app was too laggy and I couldn't get it in the cart. oh well.
edit: bargh! just realized i needed a smaller UPS of which there was a cyberpower one on sale. d0h!
This vacuum is amazing. You will need to charge it at home but it's a very powerful little vacuum.

I just use a hand vacuum. I don't bother, but if one wanted to be extra careful, they could put down a towel and vacuum the towel afterwards instead of the floor/counter top. Plastic bags are getting harder to come by since they're not allowed in my state's grocery stores, and reducing our consumption of plastic is a good thing, anyway.
I currently have one of these bit I was concerned that it wouldn't be accurate enough and I saw this one recommend on one of the electronics subreddits.
I actually haven't - my lfs convinced me that it wasn't a possibility on brand new equipment...... if you think I should look into - would this work?
Thanks :)
All the cheap ones are brands that I've never heard of so can't recommend on that basis, but as long as you aren't expecting really high accuracy and don't use it on high voltage stuff, just pick one you like the look of and make sure it comes with leads, this was the first one I saw that looked reasonable.

> There is no such thing as a dust mite vacuum
I thought the same at first, but lo and behold.
I was given a nextbase 312gw as a gift and it's been faultless. It was a "which" best buy and has GPS/WiFi and a magnetic mount so easily detachable when parked up etc.
Has nice features like the screen turns off while driving so it didn't distract you etc.

I’m really happy with this one!

Don’t forget to write whatever you buy off on your taxes :)
This one? https://www.amazon.com/Dyson-Top-Dog-Handheld-Vacuum/dp/B01GSIOD4G/ I was looking at the Black & Decker BDH2020FL, the Dyson is about 2x that (the difference is about 1/2 hour of flight time :) ) but if the Dyson is recommended...
The vantrue N2 Pro seems to be a very popular choice https://www.amazon.co.uk/N2-Pro-1920x1080P-Recording-Dashboard/dp/B0742ZV9LV
Will do! I would love this one... but it's not cheap. It's definitely an "upgrade" pick as far as handhelds go, but I could do that, I think, and skip a shop vac all together! Ugh. It would just be so nice to not have to haul out the upright for the stairs...

Not if you had it on cool. The best option is to buy an electric air duster such as this: https://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500P-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001U899HQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1505023931&sr=8-3&keywords=Datavac+air+duster
It makes it a lot easier.
Consider getting an electric duster instead of canned air.
Something like this
In my opinion they are simply easier to use. You'll pay more upfront, but you'll never need to buy compressed air while you have it.
