I’m pretty sure you can just buy a light bulb mount for your home mini, it screws in to an empty socket to provide power. Probably something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C687FP9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0WVWDb8K6AZ9F

u/StrictlyDanStuckie · 37 pointsr/googlehome

Not OP but check out Dock Socket. Haven't used one because I don't have recessed lighting but it does just this.

Posting initially without links and will edit them in my mobile browser is crashy.

Keychain: nite-ize S-biner bottle opener 2.98 (it's really useful to clip onto belt loops etc for cycling)

Wallet: A6 leather notebook cover wallet w/ pen loop - 36.99( fantastic thing to have i would imagine, a6 is w bit larger than "field notes")

Pen: Kaweco Sport in blue. 24.94 (It is the space pen of fountain pens)

Knife: Case Sodbuster in american workman blue - 24.98 (I am a sucker for a traditional slip-joint)

Light: Maglite Solitaire in blue 9.43 (very tiny and pocketable, 40 lumen, made in the USA!)

It comes to 99 and change

u/BeckysMamma · 15 pointsr/30PlusSkinCare

My skin is super sensitive to retinoids. I also have rosacea and freckles so hooray for me. :-( Anyway retinol makes me break out immediately so I've been looking for an alternative as well. I tried this bakuchiol serum from Wildland Botanicals that I get on Amazon and I'm kind of blown away. At first, there was no burning or rashes so I thought it wasn't going to work for me because I'm used to some kind of 'reaction'. But I figured I paid good cash for it so I'd see what I could get out of it. I treated it like a cleansing oil, rubbing it into my skin every night, taking off my makeup with it etc. a few weeks later for some unknown reason my rosacea wasn't as bad and I could actually see my skin and I realized my freckles werent as pronounced. Like I usually have a solid block of freckles across the upper part of my cheeks and this day they were - less. They were there but faded. So now I'm a FAN! No rashes, no breakouts and my freckles are fading!!!! It's real.

u/Peaches80 · 13 pointsr/30PlusSkinCare

I'm currently using the one from Wildland Botanicals. It's on Amazon. Really happy with this oil.

u/BigStickOSalami · 12 pointsr/EDC

I know this will get buried but I have decided to revamp my whole EDC.

/u/ieatedjesus I have taken the plunge on the Wallet you have recomended. I hate when a product has no reviews or I can't do research about it but whatever. I'm also super stingy with money so this is a huge deal for me lol ($42 with engraving)

As for the pen, I have decided to get a Fisher Space Pen $15. I have 3. Now I will have 4. (also bought a clip $5) ((also bought fieldnotes $10 for the wallet))

/u/odomandr I have decided to go with that knife $16. Nothing sexier than a good stone wash and minimalist design. I also need a knife. No idea about the quality but today I have decided to trust a total stranger on /r/EDC

/u/Ryl4nd99 Thank you for the great idea of a post! I hope to post again when everything comes in. I decided to add/replace my edc with the items above. I also carry a muthafuckin Casio as well as an Olight s2 Baton along with dollar store chapstick. Hopefully I can keep you updated or make a new post when all my goodies come in!

Sorry for the wall of text. Thank you for reading.

u/TheBatIsBack · 11 pointsr/asktransgender

I started wearing a necklace that I heard about from here, although I realize that doesn't really work for FTMs...

I'm a nurse with seb derm symptoms and it can be hard to find something that works. I tried a lot of things, and asked a lot of doctors, but what ultimately worked for me was the ACV shampoo bar from Wildland Botanicals. The ingredients are wonderful. Neem oil, Shea butter, apple cider vinegar, etc. I use it now approx 2-3x a week. Itch is gone, dandruff is gone.

u/andraes · 10 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

(nods to all the fellow dads)

Just a note on the screen protector. I always hate how they've looked on my phones and such, so I went the other way and got a dock sleeve that keeps the dock from scratching the screen.

u/quietgamer · 10 pointsr/asktransgender

I got this pendant a while back after someone else posted it on one of these subs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019HOIHM2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Mostly because I just like it, but now I'm hoping it'll be a nice, subtle signal to anyone who anyone who recognizes the meaning in those colors.

It's the one by Wildland. Feels like luxury in a bottle.

u/mantiqueirabingo · 7 pointsr/CrazyIdeas

In Ancient Rome people would say memento mori to generals if they ever got cocky during battles. They had coins with that written on and you can buy one for yourself right here

u/luvs2p33outdoors · 6 pointsr/tressless

Sounds like a solid plan, tbh. You won't need a conditioner with the ACV bar. Along with saw palmetto it's got Shea Butter, which leaves your scalp feeling great. You'll want that to deal with the itch. It helps me out a lot.

u/Vanska1 · 6 pointsr/NoPoo

As this is r/nopoo I'm going to recommend a lowpoo option. Check out the ACV Shampoo Bar from Wildland Botanicals. (also on etsy) As you're already sulfate free you won't have a problem transitioning. It's vegan and its got anti-fungal properties (which has totally gotten rid of my dandruff) which might be good for your situation. It doesn't strip your hair at all. It's on prime so it ships fast. My routine is similar to yours except I dry my hair straight with a hair dryer and a big brush a couple times a week and don't use any product at all. I've been using it for a couple years now and I think because of the oils I don't need to use a separate conditioner anymore. So considering that it's the only thing I use with my hair I don't mind the 14 bucks.

u/ClimbingHalfDome · 6 pointsr/tressless

Afterwards you should be massaging a quality oil mixture gently into the scalp. I've been using this one for the last few weeks, liking it so far.

u/CailanJade · 6 pointsr/bisexual

On Amazon there's a seller who makes cool LGBT jewelry using elements of chainmail. It's called Tattooed and Chained Chainmaille, at https://www.amazon.com/pride-pendant-chainmail-bisexual-jewelry/dp/B015UF1JOK?ref=hnd_adp_ap_1

u/Bobloblaw878 · 5 pointsr/malegrooming

The only reason it's a problem to wash every day is because a lot of shampoos are pretty bad for your scalp. Just try something that isn't so harsh. Use a natural shampoo or like some others suggested try washing with a good healthy conditioner. I use this for example but there's lots of sulfate free shampoos out there that wont make your hair a fire hazard.

Or you can just use a battery base for the Mini if you got no outlets available for it.

GHM Battery Base

u/blueberry96 · 5 pointsr/Naturalhair

Best advice I can give you is start using the ACV bar. It's a solid shampoo bar that is just amazing. Vegan product with no sulfates, no preservatives, just lots of apple cider vinegar, neem, shea butter, castor, etc. And this shampoo bar lathers like crazy! The smell is a little weird, but it after rinsing it smells great. It took about a week to adjust to using a shampoo bar, but my dandruff & itch are pretty much gone. :-)

u/MyTransAccountv1 · 5 pointsr/asktransgender

I've got that one :)

The shop that has that also has a few other trans pride things (also bought).

Edit: Like this

u/friendlyforreal · 4 pointsr/Naturalhair

The ACV bar from Wildlands. My derm said basically the same thing. Working for me.

u/Mirthless92 · 4 pointsr/tressless

A good option is going with a ketoconazole 1% shampoo such as Nizoral and alternate it with the ACV bar.

u/Anhedonaholic · 4 pointsr/horror

I think most Hellraiser fans would love to get their own replica of the Lament Configuration puzzle box.

There are some that actually open and move, but they are significantly more expensive.

Depending on how your giftee dresses, maybe consider a shirt or something from their favorite movie(s) from somewhere like Fright Rags.

EDIT: Or perhaps tickets to a horror convention!

u/XDragon02 · 4 pointsr/CrappyDesign

Yea, I just feel that a pillow is the worst thing to use. Maybe a little lamp or something?

Oh wait : https://www.amazon.com/Set-Friendship-Lamps-Filimin-Classic/dp/B07NF2Z192

u/Steel_Lynx · 4 pointsr/fidgettoys

All the fidgets I make are quiet and discreet. That is how they should be imho. The Möbii fidget balls are quality and come in a range of sizes and colors (can be under $10 and includes shipping). Bike flip fidgets are also quiet and the smooth flipping is a cool feeling:

It's not really new, but if he doesn't already have one, Amazon has a good-looking Hellraiser Lament Configuration Puzzle Box...would make a good centerpiece.

I'm getting a necklace pendant ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015UF1JOK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5SWPAbB3XDD48 ) and my parents have no idea I'm bi as well ( I'm only 14 ) so I picked up a gift card and bought one, just hope they don't get to it first.

D&M Leather Studio leather notebook wallet. Timex expedition with leather nato strap, ust waterproof matches, homemade leather and citrus solid cologne, rough rider camp knife (in honor of teddy Roosevelt and because it's my favorite edc), line of trade key holder from BespokePost and a pair of American optical aviators.

u/MyDogsHuman · 3 pointsr/30PlusSkinCare

I've been using https://www.amazon.com/Bakuchiol-Natural-Retinol-Alternative-Moisturizer/dp/B07Q25XXZL/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=bakuchiol&qid=1565642276&s=gateway&sr=8-3 that I get on Amazon and its been great on my skin. I got it about a month ago and its really working on my freckles and generally brightening my skin. I've tried retinoids in the past and it always made me break out in a rash. Like immediately. This stuff just feels so good on the skin and really moisturizes. No dryness. It seems to last a long time cuz I've been using it every morning after I wash my face and there's still like half a bottle. I'm not sure how it works except its supposed to support cellular turnover etc. So glad I discovered it since I really don't like using retinoids. I haven't had any purging.

u/Ikotoo · 3 pointsr/tressless

I tried making my own oil mix, but it's not for me. Just get something like ScalpWorks. It's got all the oils you need plus all the stuff you want. Check out the ingredient list. I'm really liking it...

u/MassEffected3 · 3 pointsr/NoPoo

I started using ScalpWorks after getting some advice from the ppl over in /r/tressless. I don't saturate my scalp in it, instead I just massage a little in every night before bedtime. It's definitely helped.

u/Dr-Whovingi · 2 pointsr/bisexual

I'm in a similar boat! I've been using a lot of different fidgets, I try to keep them with me everywhere. I also have a service dog who's basically a big stim/weighted blanket.

My recommendation is to immerse yourself in fidget toys and sensory gear, as much as you can get your hands on. I borrowed my siblings noise cancelling headphones and they changed my life, now I'm lucky enough to have my own pair.

https://www.stimtastic.co/ is my favorite website and is very reasonably priced.

I sort of agree. I stopped using Nizoral, and I definitely don't think it's good for daily use. But yeah, that ACV bar helps. It's now on Amazon Prime too (really fucking love Amazon Prime). https://www.amazon.com/Wildland-Botanicals-ACV-Shampoo-Bar/dp/B0759ZNGJS/

u/Valerie_Monroe · 2 pointsr/Judaism

That's what I was thinking too. Memento Mori coins are starting to become more popular with the EDC groups as well as the whole 'modern stoics' trend, but I'm surprised no one has made a two-sided trinket with R. Binum's adage on them. In the era of Etsy and 3D printing, this one seems like a no-brainer!

u/Miapop2000 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

So I have an Xbox that I don’t really play much but I keep a cover on it so dust doesn’t get into the fan or anything. My switch is usually in its case, but if I kept it in the dock I would get a cover for the dock as well.

Something like this switch dock cover is what I’m talking about. There are probably many more out there that do the job, but that’ll keep your switch from getting dusty. Only issue will be remembering to remove the cover when playing docked.

u/_nocd_ · 2 pointsr/DIY

Unfortunately not. =(

I bought one of these so I need to mount a socket inside the can so I can screw in a normal bulb (or in this case a bracket) and then use a standard can trim. Looks like this is to mount some type of pendant light?

u/Vaguely_Aware01 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

It can

There are options to remedy it. A screen protector is the most common, but I had issues getting it applied without bubbles and then the screen protector just got scratched instead.

I ended up buying a dock sleeve.

Works great

I would empty out your pockets in front of you. Then start adding items in your pockets that you absolutely need for your day or trip.

Unless you stay at home all day you probably need:

  • Keys ---> unless you have a number pad or something for your home
  • Wallet or combination of ID cards + maybe a few bills
  • phone

Anything else is probably extra. That being said I carry a bag almost everywhere to carry a few other items.

In my pockets I always have:

  • wallet
  • phone + headphones
  • lip balm
  • keys

check out Every Day Carry for some ideas. You might benefit from a [case] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N25I5JA/?tag=h1111-20) like this to organise your things.

u/jcarter1105 · 1 pointr/relationship_advice

This is an age old question. There are a couple of things I think are important when talking about this. There are generally 2 things that make sex good or bad. The physical and the mental. When doing long distance like this the physical is lacking so the emotional has to take over. Doing things like sending small packages to your boyfriend or girlfriend can mean a lot. A nice and well placed text or call just to show your interested in there life is also amazing. Devices like the touch lamp can show your thinking about them. That being said, if you are looking for things that are exclusively physical. There are obviously things like Skype sex and sex toys that link to your phone so you can control the other persons toy. I don’t know about you but even at the best of times dirty talk can be awkward so card and dice can help get the talking started. But above all the best advice I can give you is to communicate. Tell each other what you like. What works and what doesn’t. Don’t lie to save the others feelings it never works in the long term. Hope this has helped.

I play with thinking putty a lot and also kinetic sand believe it or not (but only at home because it’s a bit messy. I just dump some on a smallish tray and mess with it while reading textbooks and stuff. The texture really helps). I also have this fidget. Sometimes I’ll also use a head massager which distracts one hand while also supposedly helps your scalp and feels good :)

I ended up purchasing This Thank you guys for the suggestions, it is do in tomorrow, I'll let yall know my thoughts next week!

u/StylishSuidae · -1 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I may be too late for my comment to be seen, but I'll answer the questions I can to the best of my ability.

  1. The difference in price is partly the skins, and partly that they're often bundled with a game or two. Unless you can find a switch that's bundled with a game you're gonna get for less than the price of buying them separately, what I'd do is get a refurbished switch direct from Nintendo. It comes with the console, a pair of joy-cons, the dock that lets it display on the TV, the joy con grip, the AC adapter, an HDMI cable, and straps for the joy cons.

  2. Regarding accessories, a Pro controller is nice, but not necessary. A pair of joy cons in the grip that comes with the console should be enough. I'd highly recommend a case for it if you ever plan on using it as a handheld, and if you foresee needing to charge it while out of the house with any frequency, probably an additional AC charger, since the switch doesn't play nicely with 3rd party USB-C. Also, I'd recommend getting a sleeve for the dock to prevent scratches on the screen when inserting it. This is the one I have, but if you're not concerned with aesthetics you can get a plain one for like 1/3 the price.

  3. The new Zelda is an absolute masterpiece, but is far too complex for a 6 y/o. If you're looking for a fun game you can play with her, or that she can play with her friends I'd recommend Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I didn't start playing Mario Kart until I was 9 but it was my then 6 year old now step brother who introduced me to it, so it shouldn't be too complex. I'd also recommend Super Mario Odyssey. The Mario platformers tend to be outstanding games while still simple enough that children can understand them, and Super Mario Odyssey is the best among them. And I'm saying that as someone who was playing Super Mario Sunshine when I was 6. As one last kinda-recommendation, I recommend Kirby Star Allies if you can find a copy for ~$30. It's not a bad game, it's a good one but it's just severely lacking in content for what it is. I got 3/4 of the way through the game in two short play sessions.

  4. Mario Party is a multiplayer party game meant for local groups of people. I haven't personally played it, but I've heard it's among the best in the series. Mario Space Odyssey is a portmanteau of Super Mario Odyssey and 2001: A Space Odyssey. The latter is a sci-fi movie by Stanley Kubrick, and also the book by Arthur C. Clarke that the movie is based on. The former is a fantastic 3D platformer/collectathon. You say you're a playstation guy, if you've played Spyro, or even heard of Super Mario 64 you'll have a good idea what Super Mario Odyssey is about.
