When enough people drop them by accident and lose them, have them trampled to bits in a crowd, or both.

But oh, wait, there's already a solution for that... :D

We are also now available locally in Amazon.ca as well.

I'm not even anti-Mac. At least not to the point that I hate it on general principle. I asked a question about a design "feature" I hadn't realized they would try to do. But let's look at the Magic Mouse 2 for a moment, shall we?

The keyboard and the touchpad can both charge during use. Which means when the battery inevitably dies, they can be used as wired devices. This is a $100 mouse that's just scotch tape and bailing wire inside and when the battery goes, that's it.

Dozens of people on support forums and in reviews are saying that the battery is dying faster, and taking longer to charge, than Apple's numbers. One guy needed 10 minutes to get 7% charge, which lasted less than an hour.

This Apple fan at Gizmodo pointed out the flaws of trying to use one on a work computer. He'd forgotten to charge it for a while, and had to keep recharging it through the day, because the whole "two minutes" thing wasn't working out for him.

And he forgot because it's not a problem with just about any other mouse in existence, and to check the charge you have to go into your computer settings. By the time you get the pop-up you're going to be without your mouse for at least a little while.

And he's not the only Apple fan who isn't thrilled about the new mouse.

On a PC, a hundred bucks buys a lot of mouse. And you can use it to just point at things and click buttons. You don't have to massage it and tickle it and learn sign language.

If you like Apple stuff, that's fine. It's your money. But when someone says "that's kind of a stupid idea" you don't need to get all defensive. Making wireless headphones that you have to connect wires to so you don't lose them is a stupid idea. Getting rid of the 3.5mm audio jack was a cynical move motivated by greed.

And even if they give you the lightning to USB adapter with the mouse, why does it need a USB to Lightning adapter at all? Apple doesn't care about legacy support.

Could it be because it's junk and they can sell $20 replacements every few months?

This is an Apple product meant to work seamlessly with other Apple products. They're making users jump through hoops almost like the design department has a bet going on to see who can come up with the most ridiculous requirements they can put users through.

I honestly think they're doing it because at this point they literally have more money than they can figure out how to spend. And they'd like to stop making it, or at least generate some losses to offset the tax burden that bringing it home out cost.

And it just keeps failing. People just keep buying it. "It's intentional!" some say. Like that makes it better? It's a bad idea. It really is just that simple.

Ever read The Princess Bride? Apple is Yeste. Domingo died, Inigo has the last great weapon that will ever come from that shop, and the customers don't care. So they make things gaudier and less useful and double and redouble the prices.

Haven't lost my airpods once. When you take them off just put them immediately in the charging case. Other than that I think Apple has added a find my airpod feature but I haven't had to use it yet.

The case is https://www.amazon.ca/Slappa-SL-HP-07-Full-Sized-Headphone/dp/B009NE7B06

Unfortunately, taking off the cables everytime is not an option because of they're MMCX connectors rated for only 500 couplings (and in that case I would just use the OEM hardcase). I know it looks like I could push the headphones up a bit more, but the case can't close if I do that. Do I just DIY some holes in there? Dunno what I would do about the zipper though. Will this case be useful for the HD6XX at least?

I'd feel really silly having to resort to those gun cases for a headphone. Does anyone have better luck with other cases?

u/sageDieu · 6 pointsr/headphones

Welcome to the open back bass club :)

I second the other users suggestions, get some Mediabridge cables or v-moda. Stock one has high impedance so makes for some wonkiness which is sad because its a really nice cable.

Listen to Antoine Dufour's sound pictures album.

Also this case fits these perfectly if you are looking to take them with you, I use them as monitors at church so needed a good case.

They are real but I am waiting for the next gen strap to be released.
It's rumored the updated version, coming out for Christmas, will have the capability to keep your Airpods fully charged. The strap will connect to your phone, enabling your phone to become a mobile charging device.

I have this basic case that works great. Easy to carry and fits the shape of the headset perfectly, so it's compact as well.

If you're willing to spend more there's this better carrying case that'll hold the breakout box and more cables along with the headset. I can't give an opinion on it but judging by the reviews it's a great product.

Also I found this backpack that seems to hold everything: the headset, breakout box, cables, camera, Move controllers, and DS4. It's cheaper than the deluxe case, but don't offer the nice made-to-fit molds of the deluxe nor the shape of the first case that fits the headset. Don't seem to be any reviews for it either, just the other varieties of backpack the same company makes for other devices, although those are rated highly.

Seems like all 3 are a great choice, just depends on how much you want to keep together, how much room you'll have on your trips, and what your ideal price is. Hope this helps!

I use a Slappa case. The weight added is negligible.

u/And_You_Like_It_Too · 4 pointsr/PS4

Oh man, my heart goes out to you having to move and set everything up all over again. But that will make your cord management easier than trying to tear up your current setup I’d imagine. I recently did mine with cable zip ties and the occasional twisties from bread bags and whatnot. And used clear tape and white speaker wire for my Atmos height speakers mounted above my TV on the wall, so they almost look professionally done rather than speaker wiring draped everywhere.

I now keep my PSVR in this hard case for $20 that I think is well worth it. And then wrap the cord that goes to the box around the case itself (or detach it entirely and then store it inside the case and plug it back in when I’m ready to play more VR). Looking forward to the PSVR2 that is rumored to have wireless/ranged options. And then I have this old PS3 Move Charging Base that I tuck away behind my TV stand, so I can charge my two Moves through my big powerstrip. And I also hide my AIM controller underneath the stand, and charge it via my PS4/XB1X/home theater receiver’s USB port whenever needed. I’m looking forward to a future where everything charges and connects wirelessly!! Good luck with your move!

  1. Freaking love DT770's, great choice!

  2. With you in low volume listening

  3. Slappa makes a really good hardshell case that fit the DT770's nicely, I'm on mobile right now but I'll link it once I get home. I modded my DT770's to make the cable removable with a locking mini xlr, but I've heard from a few other people even the stock model will fit into the case. I cannot personally confirm that however

EDIT: The Slappa case, also available at Amazon

Yeah I just found a cheap one off Amazon. Seems to be pretty solidly built, although it came shipped from China and took like a month to show up. Hence the impromptu crown bag. lol

Other good looking bag I was eyeballing was this one, but reviews said it had shitty zippers. And then there was this one that looks more sturdy, but it's huge as fuck.

I'm cool with the one I got, it's snug and compact. The only downside is you gotta unplug the cable to fit it in there without bending it. But that's what you get when you go compact, the other briefcase one was too huge for me.

u/Be_ing_ · 3 pointsr/DJs

If you're open to not having jog wheels, you can save quite a bit of bulk and weight. I use a pair of Allen & Heath Xone K2s with Mixxx. The K2 has a sturdy build with nuts securing every knob and encoder, plus it comes with its own case. One K2 controls 4 decks and the other controls 4 effect units (for a total of 12 effects), which is a ridiculous amount of control for such a small setup. I wrote the mapping so that even with one K2, you can still control 2 decks and 2 effect units. I occasionally do that when I don't feel like carrying my entire setup. I use an RME Babyface Pro audio interface (which also comes with its own case) because the sound quality of the audio interface in the K2s is not very good (probably on par with a DDJ-SB2, but I haven't directly compared them).

My laptop is a Lenovo Yoga 920, which is thin and lightweight. The touchscreen allows me to touch the waveforms on screen for seeking, which is particularly helpful without jog wheels. The 4k screen looks great, but it doesn't get super bright, so it's not easy to use in direct sunlight if you play outdoor gigs (under shade it's okay though, and the K2's LEDs aren't easy to see in direct sunlight either).

It seems you already have headphones, but if you're searching for lightweight headphones, I love my Sennheiser HD-25s (which I also have a case for).

The heaviest part of my setup is a Hercules Stands DG400BB. If you're planning on playing at places that don't have any gear for you, I recommend bringing your own stand.

Truth be told, they don't fit all that well in it (the 6XX fit absolutely perfectly in it, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if it was cut specifically to fit them). It works for the occasional trip to the office - normally these stay at home but I wanted to have some time today to compare and contrast with the Mayflower T50RP MK3s seen in the pics).

It’s $12.99 on Amazon. It goes on sale occasionally for $9.99. I think I got mine at best buy. The xbox one controller sits where the hump is and there’s a small pocket on inside top that holds power supply and cable. The go fits perfectly in the cut out area for the psvr. I got the Plantronics Backbeat Pro and felt that they were my purchase of the year. http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-BackBeat-Wireless-Canceling-Headphones/dp/B00MBWIL0G
MSRP is $250 but you can often find them on amazon for $165.

They rock on airplanes -- cuts out the noise real well. The li-ion rechargeable batteries last forever.

WIRELESS! But you can also plug them in when they run low (which has never happened to me.

Very soft and high quality build.

Oh... and I love that it can store pairing for multiple devices. I've done up to two. It's not annoying like other bluetooth devices where you have to re-pair each time you switch from phone to computer, etc. These just always work as soon as you turn them on.

It comes with this really nice soft case that I just want to rub my face against, but I go out with them in this case, which is a bit harder and gives me enough protection to chuck them in my bag or wherever http://www.amazon.com/Headphone-Carrying-Protection-Sennheiser-Ballistic/dp/B009EEGVY2/ref=pd_bxgy_107_img_2
It's a perfect fit.

I see that there's now a Backbeat Pro+ version for a little more. I love these so much but I just might upgrade and give these to a loved one.

u/HarryTruman · 2 pointsr/audiophile

I've had the HD25's since September and can vouch for their durability. How much room will you have in your bag? I carry mine around in my backpack every day and I've taken them on many flights across the country. I hadn't planned on getting a case for them as I carried my Sennheiser HD-555's in my backpack for over two years with no damage to them. I finally broke down a couple months ago and got a case simply to protect my investment.

How much room will you have in your bag? This is the case that I have for mine. The HD-25's can handle the wear and tear but if you think you can swing room for a case, you might as well.

Oppo is nice, earpads are non replaceable though and so is cable I believe. The pleather starts to flake relatively quickly too.

I've A/b'd them they're both quite nice! I ended up with the 1770 but travel wasn't a high priority with it.

you can also easily throw the 1770 in a Slappa case for something more portable than the standard case.

I haven't tried the MDR Z7 but they look pretty sweet!

u/ImCorvec_I_Interject · 2 pointsr/IAmA

I got the M50x instead of the M50 because I plan on keeping them around for a while. The sound is exactly the same, but there are several other differences.

  1. The M50x's come with 3 cords that are useful in different situations.
  2. The M50x's pads are slightly more comfortable than the M50's. They're easily replaceable, though: I bought some velvet pads for when the default pads are too warm.
  3. Transporting them in my Slappa case entails removing the cord, and that could potentially be problematic with the M50's.
  4. I recall reading somewhere that replacing the cords on the M50's is fairly reasonable to do, but upon reading the instructions I decided that would take me more than $50 worth of effort.

It's worth noting that the replaceable cords in the M50x are proprietary. There's a locking mechanism that holds them in place, so a replacement cord would need to be designed with that in mind.

I'll link you my favorite headphone case for the 6XX right here. The 6XX are 300 ohms and have a sensitivity of 105 decibels so they're not as hard to drive as some people claim. That being said, they benefit big time from an amp. Most people will recommend the JDS Labs Atom. Topping D30 is a good dac to go with it. I'm surprised that it's claiming to be able to hold the PS4 Pro AND the PSVR headset, because I have a huge backpack for my travel setup and I still have to carry the PS4 Pro separately because it is so monstrous-big. And because I'm packing an entire boom microphone stand.

If you're going to backpack your headset, let me recommend that you also buy a hard case for the headset itself. The PowerA one can pretty much squeeze wherever the headset itself can and you won't have to worry about drop damage.

u/SpicySaturdayBoy · 2 pointsr/PSVR

I did it once...I took it with me for 2 weeks traveling from US to Japan and then Thailand then come back to US again and it was fine.

I recommend you should have a nice hard case for headset itself (I own this one PowerA Storage Case for PSVR https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LB4KHF6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_URP6CbTJEVMGK).

Then you should put everything in hard case carry-on take it with you during on flight. It’s pretty tight in carry-on bag but all controllers (I took Aim controller with me too) is fine also the headset is already in hard case bag...a little squeeze inside can not break your PSVR headset. It’s still working great after travel no any problem.

u/bigcatrik · 2 pointsr/PSVR

A lot of us (judging from previous posts) have this Power A case that is sturdy, compact and on sale for $9.99 (from $39.99, I got mine from a local Best Buy for about the same price though it's $10.99 there now). I leave everything connected and put the headset in the case, lowering the top but not closing the zipper, but you could securely close it if needed.

The straps securely hold the Vpets and I slip the whole thing into my bag (I have a small bag meant for carrying a tablet and accessories). This prevents them from knocking around.

Several of my friends use headphone cases, like these.

https://www.amazon.com/Sunmns-Earphone-Headphone-Carrying-Carabiners/dp/B071934DWD/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=headphone+case+sumns&qid=1566819696&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spell

Big enough to hold one Vpet safely, a lot of people really love these.

I also listen to lots of other stuff Chiptunes, everything on the Electric spectrum and while the bass on the 650 is there it isn't the most prominent feature, due to the coloration of the headphones favoring highs and mids. So you'll hear it, but don't expect to get punched in the face by it.

Build quality is good, but like many people will admit for the price tag the light plastic making up the headband might not have been the best idea, so when travelling I use a carrying case. Clamping force is rather strong when initially bought from what I've read, because I got mine second-hand I can't speak much to this claim, but I have had to stretch out the metal band to get a more comfortable fit. Speaking of comfort these are amazing, I'm talking 8+ hours of constant use with little to no discomfort and the earpads in my opinion are just perfect. ^so ^soft. ^so ^velvety.

I believe you are in the wrong subreddit :)

You may be looking for /r/headphones. Regardless, the folks there (some of the nicest on reddit) seem to like Slappa cases like this one and others have reccomended [this one] (http://www.amazon.com/CASEBUDi-casebudi08-Headphone-Case-Large/dp/B009EEGVY2). The M50s are pretty bulletproof, so a heavy-duty case is not that neccessary. If you do get a case, just remember to take into account the non-removable cable if you have the M50s (obviously not a concern with the M50x, which has a removable cable). Best of luck!

u/Ofenlicht · 1 pointr/headphones

u/Schrockwell · 1 pointr/headphones

Any recommendations? This one is inexpensive and supposedly it fits the DT-770, albeit tightly.

I am about to purchase a pair of AKG 240s

First, if anyone here has any experience with these I'd love to hear from you about anything you might want to say about them, good or bad!

Second and the main reason for my post, I need a hard case, in case I need to travel with them. My budget is $30.

Thanks!

EDIT: From my research the most affordable option which is also durable and is confirmed with Slappa to accommodate my headphones is the Slappa hardcase. Id love to hear if anyone has any thoughts whatsoever:)

I've got a pair of pristine condition white M50x's for sale. I was planning on using them more but I only used them for about a week before I went back to my HD650's. The original leather pads have almost no wear and I also have brand new velour pads from massdrop and a Slappa carrying case (http://www.amazon.com/Slappa-Full-Sized-HardBody-Headphone-Protection/dp/B009NE7B06). Looking to get $130 shipped for the whole set.

Just a heads up, I paid $220 for a set (in 9/10 condition) with THIS CASE, an extra + smaller cable (4') and both pads, just like yourself (from the website, FocusPads)...

GLWS, especially with the Senn deals that popped up.

u/Pineapplerainbow · 1 pointr/headphones

I recently bought the M50x's, but am worried about transporting them in my bag to, from, and around campus. I have looked online and only found the Slappa cases, but this one seems a bit small like it may bend the headband. The other one, this one, which seems a little excessive in size considering that the m50x can fold up. I would be busing and carrying them in my backpack. Any suggestions?

u/B1ockh3d · 1 pointr/headphones

I went ahead and purchased this. I study audio in school, so having a hardshell case for my headphones is nice, ya know?

u/yerbro · 1 pointr/headphones

I got the Slappa hardbody pro case, it fits a pair of DT770s along with an E17 so should fit the momentums fine: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009NE7B06

u/Mastemo · 1 pointr/playstation

I highly recommend the PS Gold Wireless headset. Sometimes you can find it on sale for less than the $99 price tag, but it's worth every penny. Hands down, one of the best gaming headsets at that price point. It also works no problem on both my Mac and PC, just plug and play.

And if you want a great case to protect it, because it does feel kinda cheap in build, check out this case:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NE7B06?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I picked up this case last week and it fits no problem. Harder outer shell, and a spot to hook a clip for attaching to bags.

u/Skullman7809 · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget: Not really set
So I need advice as to what headphone carrier I should get for the AT-M50x that I recently purchased? I tried using the storage that came with my Razer bag that I use via winning it in a contest, but that carrier was too small and I was really struggling to fit the m50s in there. I purchased the Slappa case from the recommended area on Amazon, and it's too large, and I was really struggling to fit the M50s in it, even folding them up every which way. I would ideally want something that will comfortably fit the m50s as well as fit in a backpack. Preferably a hard case as the leather carrier is nice that came with the M50s, I just want something tougher.
Thanks!

u/dace · 1 pointr/headphones

I'm not aware of any dedicated cases specifically for those, but there are many different types of standard hard shell cases that will fit them.

If you search something like "akg 702 case" on Amazon then you should get a number of generic cases which will specifically say they fit 702s, e.g.:

http://www.amazon.com/Headphones-Carrying-Accessories-Sennheiser-Beyerdynamic/dp/B00F2AYGSK/

http://www.amazon.com/CASEBUDi-Headphone-Case-Extra-Large/dp/B00BF6IKL4

etc.

u/Degru · 1 pointr/headphones

I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/Geekria-EJB-0034-01-Headphones-Case/dp/B00PDEZIPA/

Got the one with the foam insert, fits my HD600's pretty well, and also holds my DAC/amp snug in the middle when it's closed. Probably won't fit thicker headphones without cutting out more foam, though.

u/Vindsvelle · 1 pointr/headphones

Do you want soft shell or hard?

If the former, I can vouch for the Geekria EJB-0034. It works well for my 600s.

Will likely move up to a Pelican or Amazon Basics hardshell in the future.

I use this ($20 during BF sales) to keep the headset safe when not using, in the enclosed shelf of my tv stand. Also use it for the intended purpose of taking it with me to friends' homes with PS4s (I put the breakout box, cables, and move controllers, in a small messenger bag).

I use this to charge the two move controllers that came with the bundle, and keep it on a side table in my living room. Sometimes I turn them on just for the pretty blue lighting.

u/ctrlaltd1337 · 1 pointr/PS4

In Canada, it looks like they will be stocking this VR charging station instead: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/collective-minds-collective-minds-ps4-vr-charging-stand-183654000814/10488778.aspx

(picture if you can't get on the Canadian site)

I have the Dualshock charger you linked and will miss the way it chargers, but the VR charging station doing everything and having a spot for my headset seems like a no brainer. That, and it's $39.99CAD ($29.84USD).

It's either that, or I'll get the original Move charger and a VR carrying case to keep all of the dust away from the unit.

I bought this for my psvr and I love it. There is also a pouch inside to keep the cable from touching the lenses. It's pretty nice for the price, but won't hold anything except the HMD. I tend to stick to Nyko charging docks for all our consoles - well designed and reliable. For our PS4 Pro I originally got the Nyko DS4 Charging Block: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H1WR47G/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

When we got the PSVR I added a block for the Move controllers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WVJ1VHR/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They all lock together as one unit with a single power cord. I looked at but didn’t like the tower options. I wanted to keep my headset protected and dust free when I’m not using it so opted for this case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LB4KHF6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The case is great - drop the headset and close the cover. No need to unplug anything because it closes nice band snug without bothering with the zipper.

u/nophoria88 · 1 pointr/PSVR

That price though. I'd rather just use this one and bag the rest up. I actually keep it in this (unzipped but shut) when I'm not using it. Was $13.99 when I got it.

one thing I will say: buy an after market case for them, they damage very easily

Something like this

u/mtndewfeind · 1 pointr/airpods

I recommend a case for the case this is the one I have it claims it water proof and dust proof. I haven’t tested the water proof but since using them I noticed a lot less dust within the case

u/pacading · 1 pointr/digimon

I use these for taking them on the go.

They’re super compact and you can dangle the chain out the side. They also come in 5 colors, so you can coordinate them with your pets.

Here are some pics of them in use.

u/JuliamonEXE · 1 pointr/oilpen

If your pen's small enough, look into earbud cases. A Fantom Pro or imini will fit easily into the cheap square ones like this (I just tested to make sure!) and there are longer, thinner ones out there that might fit a taller pen-style, though I don't have said cases handy.

If you want something more protective, Pelican makes small waterproof boxes for phones and stuff, look for their "Micro Case" series. They sell customizable foam inserts so you can keep stuff from rattling around. Downside is that they can be pretty pricey, and it's harder to find the ones with opaque lids.

EDIT (4:30pm EST): Yes, guys I understand that they are not made by Apple... No shit..

The WTF is because we even need to have an accessory like this..

Apple: "We have freed you from the tyranny of cords.... Oh.. BTW you might want to buy a cord so you don't lose those, which we don't make because that would be an admission that we solved a problem that really didn't exist and immediately created a more expensive problem."
