The closest that I can think of is Torso:

http://www.amazon.com/Torso-Brian-Michael-Bendis/dp/1582401748/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394098758&sr=8-1&keywords=torso

It's very David Fincher-esque (he wanted to adapt it into a movie) and is more in the vein of a film like Zodiac in it's procedural type of focus, but also in that similar sort of hard-to-define theme about the pursuit and nature of understanding something unfathomable.

Congrats on the prime!

Today has been tiring so far. XD Yesterday a friend of the family had a mini emergency and had no one to watch his two little girls while he ended up having to stay over night at the hospital. So I picked them up from school and spent the evening with them. I slept there, but not much because the older girl is prone to terrible night terrors so every sound made me alert as I was worried about that. This morning I got them ready for school and out the door. In a couple hours I go teach my graphic narrative class. I am feeling very anxious because my class size has been very up and down and I am worried for the art show we have scheduled and am worried about how its being received.

Sorry for the ramblings! O.O

I'd love to pre-order this. Thanks!

Sorry, the book wasn't ringing any bells in my brain. :-\

While it's true that you don't need to start with volume 1, it's worth picking up when you can. There's a lot of wordbuilding in those issues that pays off in subsequent stories.

It looks like there are some cheap used copies here: https://www.amazon.com/Astro-City-Life-Big/dp/0965329003/

I think I remember Blue Rose coming out (and I'm actually surprised I didn't pick it up at the time).

Bloodstrike! Whoa, talk about a blast from the past - you just jogged my memory of Liefeld's original Bloodstrike, featuring "Clearly-Not-Wolverine" and embossed "blood" on the cover! Peak Liefeld era!

(If I remember correctly, I think there was also an acclaimed run by an indie creator on Prophet about ten years ago too.)

The Origin of Mr. Gone... I'd rather not say any more.
