Incontinence- We've found the Abena diapers to work the best for us. If you need to keep her dry for longer periods, add booster pads. I also got a diaper genie type of trash can to handle the products and cut down on the odors. Puppy pee pads around the toilet will help with spills and splatter. An enzymic cleaner will help eliminate odors where accidents happen. Petco is a regular stop.

Self care- I find walk in fresh air and nature help. I also use the Insight Timer app to help me meditate before sleep and shut down the rat wheel.

Check your local chapter of the Alzheimers Association for resources you may be able to take advantage of.

Finally, there will likely come a time where she has to go to a facility for her own safety and your well-being. This is not a failure on your part. It doesn't make you a bad or unloving person. It is simply the reality of this awful disease. Unless you have the resources to hire people to come to your home to share the load it simply overwhelms any persons abilities.

The Abena Abri-Let Maxi #4035 has not been discontinued according to our Abena rep; they have, however been rebranded.

They are now being branded as Abena Boost and the Abri-Let name will no longer be included in any packaging.

All the specifics of the 4035 will stay the same including: Product, corrugate and case dimensions/weight, EAN/UPS numbers, bags and case count. The only change/update is the new packaging and brand name.

Although not perfect, the Abena Abri-let Maximum "Big Ass"^(TM) stuffers that are 22" long and don't have an adhesive strip are one of my favorites. They're surprisingly cheap (~50 cents each)for the size and absorbancy, they're soft, and they add mondo bulk. It's perfect for when I want to take my above average but not super premium diaper, like an Abena M4 or Seni Super Plus or NSC Supreme Lite, and get silly with it. Since they have no adhesive, you can also replace a soaked one (They are all pulp fluff so they swell a LOT) from your diaper. It's much easier to do this in a cloth diaper of course, but a disposable where you can refasten the tapes is easy enough. That way you never have to leave your fave diaper🙃

In general, my go-to is North Shore Care large. A little pricey (~75 cents each) but all-around quality. I like the dimensions of these because they're big enough (at 16") to provide good coverage but no too wide (5.75") to fit between the leg gatherers of almost any diaper I like. That may seem petty but if the booster is too big, you're gonna leaks as it swells. Also available through Amazon.

I haven't tried ABU power ups but I hear nothing but good things and look forward to checking them out.

God I love diapers, is it obvious?

For PP care (uncomplicated vaginal birth, 1st degree tear) I used Depends Adult Diapers (maybe 20? Had a few left over), Dermoplast (the blue can!!!), Tucks Pads, and made padsicles (20ish) before hand (extra large maxi pads, alo vera gel, alcohol free witch hazel, a spattering of tea tree oil, pop in freezer). Hands down would recommend. My hospital didn't send me home with any supplies so I'm glad I went ahead and got some "just in case" items before hand. The adult diapers were pretty much like wearing comfy granny panties, not at all "diaper feeling" like I thought they'd be, and I could pop a padsicle in every few hours easy peasy without worrying about ruining underpants or leaking everywhere. Once the Depends needed to be changed out I'd just trash the whole thing and start fresh. No clean up - 10/10.

Pricing everything out I've listed (lazily) on Amazon my "kit" would be around $80, but you can find these things for much cheaper in CVS or your local drug store. Looking at the quantities included in your kit I'm thinking you'd have to buy additional products anyway (more pads for sure, more briefs most likely, and I'm not sure how easy it is to clean the compresses but the padsicles are awesome and disposable, major plus in my book). I'm not sure it's as great a kit as it looks at first glance.

ETA - I didn't need these for PP care but I do love having chux for the kiddo. I have a few in the diaper bag and lay them on nasty public changing tables before I lay down his changing pad for an extra layer of protection (and so I don't drag a dirty pad back into the diaper bag).

I don’t know of any products with wetness indicators. What I buy for my mom is pull-ups with booster pads, so she can change the pad without having to replace the pull-up every time.

It took me a while to figure it out but my mom wasn’t changing hers often enough because of cost so this was a good compromise.

This is the pull-up she uses: pull up

Booster pad: pads

Good luck something that works for her!

u/onyxandcake · 5 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

What she's probably overlooked (I give this advice to every soon to be new mom and they always thank me for it) is a Perineal bottle, mesh panties and maternity pads.

Peri Bottle

postpartum panties

And possibly some perineal ice packs.

Yay he is inside! He looks sooo cuddly! Your set up quite cozy with the blankets, though yes a tad small… Will you be getting that xpen from Amazon soon so he can come live in your room?

How is he doing now – eating ok? Are you able to give him veggies? Btw try not to feed him too much pellets: general Serving size - 1/4 to 1/2 cup pellets per 6 lb bunny. So if you bunny is less than 6 lb he needs less pellets. But he does need veggies (I mentioned good ones in my guide I sent to you).

If I may suggest a couple things on your current set up – get your bun a heavy ceramic bowl (one he won’t flip easily) with water instead of a bottle. It is a much more natural way for a bunny to drink and he will drink more.

Also, try to get your bun a larger litter pan. It will tremendously help with litter training (bunnies can be litter trained)! Like a plastic one that you can get for cats for example... The litter box should be larger than the bunny, be filled with bunny-appropriate litter (note that pine is toxic to bunnies), and have hay right in it. It is also a good idea to cover the box with something like a sheet hanging to make a sort of tent as bunnies like to feel safe when they poop and will likely chose a safe spot for that on a regular basis. Bunnies often like to lounge around in their litter box and eat while they poop. So good-sized box and fresh hay in it will always encourage them to use it. Clean the litter box daily (occasionally use vinegar and water to disinfect and get rid of any slight smell). Then to litter train everytime the bunny poops or pees, pick those up and put them in his litter box to create the scent… also give your bunny a small treat every time you see him use and in no time he will just start using it. Once the bunny is litter trained you could even let him roam your house and it will be so much nicer and clean for your both! Do you plan to get the bunny neutered? It would really help with litter training and his health.

See links below for step by step on how to litter train bunny and what is good litter (if you must you can ever tear up/shred a lot of old newspaper or phone books, just don’t use pine shavings).

https://rabbit.org/faq-litter-training-2/

Also do put a hiding house in his enclosure – a carboard box with a hole in for him to go in will work even and can be easily replaced when chewed. Bunnies need a place to hide and feed safe when they want to. You can also make a cheap DIY hayrack for your bunny to encourage him to eat more hay vs just putting on the ground. For example just take a large box, fit it with hay and cut a hole in it. Then secure sideways to the cage walls such the bunny can eat from the opening.

It also looks like the bunny’s butt might be a tad wet possibly from peeing and then being on wet ground,, this could cause painful skin irritation/urine scald or attract flies to your bunny that will lay horrible eggs on him. Try to put some more absorbent napkins in the cage for him to pee on (this will go away as soon as he learns to go to his litter box as the right litter will absorb all the moisture). Like this https://www.amazon.com/McKesson-UPHV3036-StayDry-Ultra-Underpads/dp/B00BE5D2FA/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_121_bs_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=7R9E8VR0DBN5Y3WKD4K2 for example. You can throw them away when they get used up… they are pretty cheap. In the meantime, you can wipe hi behind with a damp warm towel (do not give him a bath as it is never recommended for rabbits) and dry him of to ensure he stays dry and doesn’t get skin issues.

Try to take a look at these videos and possibly add a couple of things into the cage for him to make it even nicer and keep him happier.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2AlWHF5sVM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DO69sadBqc

Do make a couple of toys for him if you cannot by (the guide I sent you has links to great and very cheap toys also). Try stuffing a paper bag with some hay, closing it up and giving to him. Also take an the carboard papertowel or toilet paper roll stuff it with hay and give to him.

I hope soon you will have that xpen and be able to bring him up with you. Bunnies are very social animals and he needs your love and attention. If left alone in the basement he will likely get very sad and depressed, and then if that happened he could stop eating and go into GI statis. He would really have a better life with you and your room!

I'm an ABDL but definitely no stranger to bedwetting. Honestly I do spring for high quality diapers for night. I am thrifty in other areas of my life and I enjoy wearing, so to me it's worth it.

However, if cost was a big concern I would go with Depend with Tabs, or even a cheaper diaper from Abena. Some people swear by Tranquility ATN. Sometimes you can find them online for as low as $0.70 / diaper which is really good. I like them for days (and am actually wearing one right now) however for me they don't work superb at night.

Another option is to buy diaper boosters to use with cheaper diapers, like this one. You can get smaller boosters for cheaper, but I've had good experience with these.

I love fun facts like these! I think these might be it:

https://www.amazon.com/Covidien-7209-Curity-Infant-Liner/dp/B01BQA2HM6

The maternity pads they gave me were also covidien so same vendor but I'm guessing most hospitals use the same stuff from the same companies.

Anyway thanks for the info!! Still trying to figure out what these little cloths are... In due time I'm sure :)

u/DLJeep · 2 pointsr/ABDL

Well I feel that having your member wrapped up gives quite a bit more absorbency where you need it... Even if you fall out of the funnelish thing one of the videos shows there is still extra padding in the area. This also adds a ton of padding to the front of your diaper that feels amazing! I've only tried this with Abena abri-let maxi but the results are great!

Holy shit, this is actually a real thing.

Yeah, nope, I'll stick with my two tugs and a shake.

u/dbe7 · 2 pointsr/Parenting

There are junior pullups you can get online or at a medical supply store, that should fit the gap between baby and adult diaper. Here.

You can also get pads that you lay down so he won't have to wear the underwear. Here.

I realize you'd prefer if he stops but until then these are some options.

u/WearingClouds · 1 pointr/ABDL

One thing I've been doing lately is buying cheap booster pads online. They are like $0.16 each so I put a couple in my diapers. When you wet, both booster pads swell up along with the diaper. This makes for a super fun experience!

I bought a package of reusable chucks on amazon. I plan on keeping one on the seat of the car and one in bed when I get a little closer. I heard if your water breaks it's no joke.

u/deprivedchild · 1 pointr/Incontinence

Necro post but I use diapers and pullups that are much more breathable than their plastic backed counterparts for this reason. I use LivDry briefs along with their pads, as well as Abena Abri-Flex pullups if I'm in a hurry or lazy.

I used to buy Tena Flex diapers that were a breeze to put on, change, and climate appropriate, plus they are thin and absorb well. However I haven't used them in a while only because I like how comfortable and soft the other two I listed are. Once I start travelling again I think I'll buy the Tenas again, though.

u/mistral7 · 1 pointr/diabetes_t2

I use a Glucocard Shine Connex. It works fine with my Android Pixel 3XL and 4XL. Test strips are available on Amazon. I got the meter for free from Arkray.

The app could be better (like all apps) but the meter seems accurate so I don't have an issue because the Bluetooth function is quick and easy.

u/Stoned-Capone · 1 pointr/CrohnsDisease

I currently have that but it's because I had an abscess drained and it's constantly leaking. If your leakage is white it might mean you have an infection, and pus is coming out. Idk any stool related problem that would cause white secretion.

Edit because I forgot to give some sort of solution:

I bought THESE they work very well but are relatively expensive. You can use toilet paper but make sure you wear briefs and not boxers. Trust me. Nothing is more embarrassing than a gross piece of TP sliding down your leg and out your pants...

u/ThrowawayJ85 · 1 pointr/tifu

I know these are for anal leakage purposes, but maybe they could serve as a buffer between your raw, hairless cheeks: http://www.amazon.com/B-Sure-Anal-Leakage-Pads-Box/dp/B005GDTWOG

Seriously! Or, DIY with women's ultra thin pads.

Edit: fwiw, I just accidentally opened the Anal leakage pad page RIGHT as my roomie walked by. :-( I hope I closed out fast enough before she could register what it said.

u/DprWeasel · 1 pointr/Incontinence

I ran across B-Sure ABL Absorbent Pads today while going through some old emails. I don't know if they would work for you, but I thought I'd point them out. They're also available on Amazon for about the same price.

u/sapphireland · 1 pointr/CrohnsDisease

Some things I always travel with are purell wipes, toilet seat covers, and these butterfly pads for leakage if you're dealing with that.
I also bring immodium, tylenol, and a heating pad if I'm currently flaring. For some reason, traveling always makes my symptoms worse for a few days.

u/MisuseOfMoose · 1 pointr/funny

That seems like overkill to me when you can just drip and dribble or have a larger surge into something designed for it.

u/transistorblister · 1 pointr/MMA

I find it HILARIOUS that you can't admit you were wrong!

Edit: I don't consider Silva's punch an anchor punch because it wasn't much of a cross. Hell you could almost call it a stiff jab since it was thrown with no hip and not much shoulder movement.

In truth, this punch doesn't have a well defined name. Like I said, it is to the cross what the check hook is to the hook. It's a counter cross thrown backing away without a solid plant.

When you finally realize I'm right you should be a man and tell me. You can send me a box of these since I'll likely need them in 10 years or so:

Have you thought about guards? If nothing else they should give some added protection against close calls.

u/Sideways_X · 1 pointr/tifu

Just get some of these at walmart and put one under you.. You can completely forget about any mess and just have fun. When you're done just toss it in the trash.

As an aside, you can buy pads that are for incontinence. I use them because I tend to leak a lot in between cathing. They are not as hard to get on as diapers, you just slide them in the front of your underwear. It helps with odor a lot too. Something like this; you can usually find them in drug stores too.
