Ferrofluid is magnetic! It's a fluid with several metallic shavings suspended in any liquid that will separate from water usually.

Then magnets on the back can control them.

This is a pretty cheap gift one I've used in the past:

You can put a magnet to the glass and the fluid will form around the point, usually creating cool spiky shapes.

I use two of these little magnets. They're cold and smooth, you can rub them, spin them around each other, pull them apart and let them click back together. They're the absolute perfect calming, engrossing, repetitive physical stimulus for grounding.

They can be had much cheaper than that. I bought a 100+ piece set last Christmas. Excellent quality - they get used quite a bit and not single one has broken.

https://www.amazon.com/Playmags-118-Piece-Set-Accessories/dp/B00EUBD14C/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1503956704&sr=1-1&keywords=Playmags+118+Piece+Set

Well, same price but you get nearly 2x the amount.

Happy birthday!!!!!!

What made me happiest this week was getting everything situated for my move at the end of the month.

My favorite food is pizza, not sushi unfortunately.

And TETRIS MAGNETS for my new fridge in my new house would be awesome!

That's an honorable thing you're doing but a spinner might not work if he doesn't have much dexterity. I'd suggest trying an inexpensive plastic one to see if it works for him and because he might drop it.

I have always liked magnets as really simple fidgets. I've used these for years. I know it's silly to buy 6 but you want the larger size (2.5") and this is what I could find on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/Pairs-Large-Rattle-Singing-Magnets/dp/B0046XOF5S/ref=pd_sbs_21_26

The magnets might be better for someone with large hands and limited dexterity.

They're called whirly wheels now. There's one that's on a [circle] (https://www.amazon.com/Leading-Edge-Novelty-WW200-assorted/dp/B0054KQJ7Y) that you can make go really fast and if you slam it off the track sideways, it'll spin like a top. You can also just make it go so fast that it flies off and rolls away. Both are super fun.

Grab a set of these. You can probably find them at the local dollar/discount store. Run them over the carpet after a build session and problem solved. I got tired of skewering myself too.

Someone suggested these magnetic building construction sets on here the other day, and I must admit I'm really close to buying some for myself!

Apologies for the UK link. But you get the idea. They have a special name but I can't remember what they're called!

They'd be really cool to play with the kids too.

Shut up and take.....

Actually there seems to be some issues with it according to reviews. It's really expensive too.

Tetris magnets and Pac Man magnets. Magnets you can play with are pretty awesome, I think!

u/SailorPixie · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Tetris magnets or cupcake clips would be cute. Honestly my fridge is covered in shutterfly photo magnets.

We use dot us these Training Swords in my medieval combat class!

They also make a Shield

This steampunk flavored Cryptex Flash Drive might be appreciated! Useful and stylish in a similar vein to this Steampunk Watch
As for board games, I recommend Shadow Hunters, Splendor, and Coup

For tabletop games, you could get him A Nice Set of Color Coded Diece

When it comes to video games, this Retro Arcade Console Desk Toy could be a great work passtime with 200 games! Alternatively if you have a fridge or a metal workspace, Magnetic Tetris! for idle hands

Hope any of these help haha
