• Resources: You're going to run into a lot of questions on your first couple playthroughs. The BGG community is excellent at responding to questions (even if they've been asked before). Google will yield good results for most questions but for many of them that have been asked so many times, there's actually a massive Official FAQ I would recommend reading as well. https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1897763/official-faq-game-revs-1-and-2 ... the most confusing part of the game more often than not is around monster movement.. so after you've watched some videos, read some rules, and feel like you really get it.. take this quiz and realize how little you actually understand about how monsters should move. https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/234575/gloomhaven-rules-quiz ... this will really help hammer home some of the more subtle nuances around movement. • Preparation: [Editing my post to include this as this is perhaps the most important of all when inviting friends over to play the first time] --- it took me an entire night (solo) to unbox this game and get it even somewhat prepared to play. Beyond that, I spent hours reading rules, FAQs, watching playthroughs, etc. to really have a firm grasp of it to explain to others... and I still found a lot of confusing nuances in a variety of instances that I needed to later clarify. If you're playing this with battle-hardened gamers who are ready for anything then no worries. But if you're like me who is usually making the best of any group of friends that is willing to sit down at a board game table with me.. please use caution and make sure you are well-prepped for this game or else your exciting, highly-anticipated Gloomhaven night will end up being a couple hours of unboxing followed by a lot of discourse over how/where monsters should move and attack.
  
  
• Organization: .. is everything with this game. It's a massive effort to set up and put away, so anything you can do to streamline the process will be a great benefit to you. There's tons of threads out there on different solutions for this.. so find whatever works for you. I use a large Plano box for all the monsters and a small Plano box for all the combat-related pieces (debuff markers, loot tokens, traps, chests, etc.) .. Other suggestions include windowed CD envelopes https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GXOOL4S to combine the monster card with their deck and standees all in one place or a large tackle box as well.

• Protection: This game is expensive as hell and you shuffle cards constantly. I use sleeves, which are technically called "packing list envelopes." They cost me about 5-6 cents each, depending on their sale price. They fit a folded in half 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper perfectly.

As far as tape goes, I usually try and find a local place for tape/boxes. Shipping a bunch of heavy tape tends to be pricey. Plus, you should be tax exempt on shipping supplies.

I keep mine in paper coin envelopes inside of a ziplock freezer bag in the freezer.

i use a Brother laser printer and my Iphone, just cut the paper in half , very quick not sure I want to invest in Dymo type system

Yes, I still do! But I do not carry the cash with me. I keep them at home in their respective categories. When it is time to use them or purchase, I use my credit card for everything (points). Then I just deposit the money and pay the bills same day or next day (point is not carry any balance, cc paid in full each month).

These and any old binder will do! I just germinated 3 year old seeds with a high success rate that were stored in this way. Just gotta make sure they're totally dry before storing

I second keeping the cases if you have the room to store them somewhere.

When I didnt have room for mine I put the cases in some large plastic totes and I put the disks in cd binders. Each slot was numbered so I could look at an excel spreadsheet with all my movies listed and go to the right spot. Numbering each spot in the binders took a while.

What my library does is they have the disks in paper sleeves like this. They actually labeled every sleeve and then store them alphabetically in little plastic totes that are just wide enough for the disk.

If you want to keep the artwork and not the cases my best guess would be to get a tote that is water resistant/has a seal and put them in there. Get some silica desiccant packets and store them in with them, you dont want moisture to build up and have everything stick together. Usually the packets can be reused just by putting them in the oven every few months to dry them out. Someone may have better options for this though.

I use #1 coin envelopes for trading small seeds. I get them for free from my brother, who is really into metal detecting and uses them to store small finds (jewelry, buttons, and well, coins.) If I had to buy them myself I'd probably get something cheaper (and more waterproof, come to think of it.)

For small components I use coin envelopes. I write the contents on the flap and then stand them up in long, narrow boxes that I keep in a drawer. It's super cheap and takes almost no space.

1. It might help to ask your some friends/parents/relatives about goals you should be thinking of. Might spur some ideas. Make a list of what you want life to be like in 5-10 years. I'd imagine some of those will pop out at you as a goal. Or make three columns with what you want within 2-3 years (Short Term Goals), 5-7 years (Medium Term Goals), and 10+ years (Long Term Goals).
   
   
2. Trade it in for a cheaper used car. I'm not a car guy, I don't understand the need to "love" a car (not a ding on you, I'm just saying cars are something I use to get from A to B). You could at least get a new used car and maybe some cash in hand. Dealers will typically give you more value for your car if you trade it in as opposed to sell it.
   
   
3. Sit down with your girlfriend and make a list of living expenses that you guys each take on or share. You might want to use something like Mint.com or a DIY spreadsheet. Get a book from amazon or your library on budgeting, maybe you and your girlfriend could read it together.
   
   I would set up automatic transfers from your checking account to a high yield savings account. This can at least start your emergency fund and that way the money is "gone" right off the bat, you're not waiting until the end of the month to save whatever is left, or at worst, see it as mad money (you go mad with it). You could set up a couple accounts/investments based on the goal to have the money go towards.
   
   Studies have shown that people typically spend less when they use cash as opposed to cards. The fact that you're seeing the physical money be used makes you more hesitant to spend as opposed to it being more passive with a card. If you think that would help, you can try something like these money envelopes. Obviously you could do your own too, but you get the idea.
   
   
4. Your situation does not sound that special, maybe you need to work on your Google-Fu, but these are questions a lot of young people have. I would not hire a financial adviser for these types of questions, the money would be better spend elsewhere. Have you seen...(THUNDER CLAP)...THE CHART!

I have one of these Plano boxes and I really like it. There's a large area on top that fits tools (wire strippers, crimpers, tweezers, desoldering supplies, etc), and then three drawers. The two bottom drawers are double-depth, so they fit prototyping supplies like jumper wires, breadboards, etc very well.

I've since outgrown that box but bought a four-pack of these Plano 3700 boxes. Apparently that is a pretty standard size and other companies make holders and stuff for them if you end up with a ton of them.

For smaller components (SMD) these tiny little boxes are great. One of those boxes holds a whole reel of 5,000 0603-sized resistors. Some people also use small paper envelopes to hold their components.

These things are great if you want to look professional but haven't bought a label printer yet. A lot less hassle than taping the labels and looks very clean.

I agree, I think she follows very much in line with Dave and I think you are right in her success being from the Baby Steps. I love Dave and am so thankful I found his plan to get me inspired to change but I also like watching other people bring their own ideas to the table of what works for them. Her paycheck budget worksheet and her highlighting method have been super helpful as I am a visual person. Every dollar app is great and all but I like writing things out and seeing it on paper.

Anyone have a full sized thermal printer?

I have one that fits 8.5x11, but I can't seem to find the right labels for it. I want to get full page sticky labels for FBA shipments, and 30 sheets of address labels for FNSKU's but I actually can't find anything that big.

Is my best bet regular thermal paper and put it in one of those sticky clear "bags" that UPS puts on boxes? And then I think I can get address labels for my 4xl but seems tedious to have a giant roll of FNSKU's rather than say, 5 pages.

I'm pretty sure what he had were literally thousands of these, plus appropriately-sized boxes so they could sit vertically. All marked with their contents.

Not nearly as beautiful, but a whole lot cheaper.

My personal first-aid kit is a small heavy-duty zip-loc baggie, but for Cub Scouts, I like the idea of having an actual container of some kind - mostly because they'll be more likely to take care of it.

I like them because the parts slide right out. No struggling to coach the last part out from the corner of a plastic baggie. I have a file system they fit... not sure what it was originally intended for or where I picked it up. Time or recipe cards, perhaps.
