Here's a white mixer you can use to lighten foundations that are too dark. You said you're on a tight budget so this is the most ideal for you. It's $10.

Another one from Make Up For Ever- $14

White MAC Face and Body foundation

White Illamasqua foundation

Kryolan has a white concealer stick and white foundation

>Vitamin C before Vitamin D.

LOL I thought nothing could top "toners before boners" but this one is good too.

And...take it from me, you need Isehan mascara. I recently discovered it will not run or stain no matter how much you cry. It's the perfect breakup mascara.

Just Kidding. (Or do I...? O_o)

Backstory: HI, I AM SPIDER LASH QUEEN... Honestly went through this point in my life where I just lost my mind most of my real lashes, and they never grew back. So it's really hard to find a HG mascara (I've tried a dozen high-end brands from Sephora), and I kind of gave up on wearing it besides on occasional nights out.

Anyway, I've been seeing this 'HG OMG' Japanese mascara while floating through post comments and decided to give it a try. I curled my lashes prior and tried to use two coats.

Purchased on Amazon from US based seller.

PROS:

  • Formula contains polymer fibers which allows it to lengthen very well

Note: I have used that viral dual lash set that has a fiber tube and a formula tube where you're supposed to stack the two on your lashes to make them gigantic. Well, I was annoyed with that and it could get sloppy, just tossed it after awhile. This mascara is like the better, more refined version of that.

  • Definitely holds a strong 'curl' for any type of lashes, but you should probably always curl first
  • Does not smear/waterproof (have not tried sweating with it on, but claims to be gym-wearable)

    CONS:

  • Brush/formula is not good at separating thin lashes
  • Can make lashes spidery/clumpy depending on what kind you have
  • Drier/thicker than normal formula (comparing drugstore brand, but probably due to the fibers?)
  • (personally) Can't apply more than 1.5 coats before getting clumpy
  • If you have particularly weak lashes, this will take some of them out during removal (but I feel like that's normal)

    Overall Thoughts:
For me, holding a curl is nearly most important since my lashes are short and straight, and this mascara does that. Its main strengths are lengthening, volumizing, and holding a curl so it's worth a try. I feel this would work awesome when you wear falsies and don't want ANY of your natural lashes to fall lower than the falsies because the formula will hold them up.

I've read some people say it's hard to get off, but I use Banila Co. CIZ, and it's EZ-PZ.

If you have naturally long or thick lashes, your lashes would probably be cray, in a good way.

Thanks for the read, and Happy Tuesday! :)

TLDR: HEY, it's pretty good when done right.

I use Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make waterproof long and curl mascara and I'm OBSESSED. I avoided this mascara forever, but now it's my holy grail.

I struggle with my mascara rubbing off on my lower lids all the time, but this mascara holds a curl all day and never flakes off. It makes my eyelashes look SO LONG, and I'm Asian, with normal, straight lashes.

u/ediblesprysky · 46 pointsr/Makeup

If waterproof does the same thing on you, you might like tubing mascara! People love Heroine Make mascara (I think it's this one?). You have plenty of time to order it and try it out!

[GIRL I GOT YOU] (http://www.amazon.com/Lipcote-Lip-8471-Lipstick-Sealer/dp/B003RVV82S)

I couldn't find it in stores but you can get it on amazon pretty cheap!

u/cozy-tea · 18 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Very clean and pretty! You have beautiful skin and I like that you aren't caking on product to cover it up. The touch of color to your cheeks is really nice.

If you want your lashes to show up more, I would suggest using an eyelash curler in addition to the mascara. I have also heard that some people like this specific brand of mascara for holding a curl, but I have never tried it personally.

u/sassafrass82 · 18 pointsr/30PlusSkinCare

I highly recommend checking out Japanese sunscreens. They are way more cosmetically elegant than sunscreen in the US. These two are my favorite: Biore Aqua Rich and Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel

u/yellowhornet · 17 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Thanks for the link, but it's a link to someone's wishlist item, so if you buy it, you may mistakenly buy it for the person who is wishing for it.

Here's a more straightforward link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N1ORWIU/

u/meagantron · 17 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

if you're still trying, you should try Holika Holika with tea tree oil! It's my favorite!

u/dellollipop · 16 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I would try either a liquid lipstick, which will probably last through a party. Or, if you have a lipstick in mind that you want to wear but transfers maybe try Lipcote.

Edit: Oh. I realized you didn't mean your lipstick. Let's try this again. I would spray first with MAC Fix+ (or another setting spray), then the Urban Decay All-Nighter. At that point, your makeup should be bullet-proof. Here's a great post that explains how to use setting and fixing sprays to, and I quote, lock that motha in.

u/edenharmony · 16 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Kiss Me Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara!

This holds a curl really really well. It's a pain to get off, but if you don't want to get lash extensions/deal with falsies, this is your next best bet!

u/atomheartmama · 16 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

new purchase: Hada labo UV Creamy Gel spf 50 ++++. amazon link. makeup alley link.

great first impression! i was looking for a sunscreen with high UVA protection, with great texture and finish, that wouldn't break me out or further dry my skin, that wouldn't break the bank and also wouldn't take 2 months to get here. ideally the sunscreen would also have some extras to it, like hyaluronic acid or vitamin c (this one doesn't have vit. c though). that's sort of asking for a lot haha.

this so far seems to tick all those boxes though. worth looking into!

u/spunky-omelette · 14 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

If it is any consolation, Nude Tude is $18 plus $5 shipping on Hautelook.

However, on Amazon it is $21.71 with free shipping...a $2 discount compared to Hautelook, and no time limit!

u/vitamere · 13 pointsr/medicalschool

And for the most waterproof mascara I've ever encountered, I recommend Heroine Make Kiss Me mascara which is actually so waterproof that you need their special mascara remover. You could swim across the Pacific and it wouldn't come off.

[Also, as a female almost-MS2 currently doing an IM preceptorship, this makes me feel less ridiculous for putting on makeup every day so I don't scare off people.]

u/pschell · 13 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara Super Waterproof 01 Super Black for Women, 0.21 Ounce, 1 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00INJ7TWW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_k9miDbMB9KRJP

I kept hearing about Kiss Me Heroine mascara and how well it holds a curl... let me just say, I’m blown away.

I have pin straight lashes and use a heated lash curler every day. Typically by the time I’m done my lashes are droopy and barley lifted. Not anymore! I tried it last night and they kept their curl in hot humid weather until I washed my face.

Now my new worry is making sure both eyes are curled the same, since I know they won’t budge!

u/AlaskanFeesh · 13 pointsr/PaleMUA

Hi, I have Misssha's perfect cover bb cream in no. 13 :) Some of my other shade matches are: NW10 & NARS Chantilly.

I buy off Amazon when I need to replace it. I've found it to lean very pink on me (though I am very pink), but I've heard others say it is very neutral on them.

I have normal/oily skin and I find it doesn't dry me out, I actually glow a little as the day wears on (AKA I get a little oily). I feel it's more medium+ coverage when applied with a beauty blender.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

u/glittergash · 12 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I have oily skin, somewhat large pores on my nose, pronounced sebaceous filaments and acne scarring. I've done the OCM for about a year using the [AMAZING DHC Cleansing Oil] (http://www.amazon.com/DHC-Deep-Cleansing-6-7fl-oz-200ml/dp/B001UE60E0). I need to buy a new one about once every 6-7 months, and that's with one use every night.

I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. The OCM has helped me skin retain natural levels of moisture, and my body's sebum production is nice and regulated now. My skin still gets oily, but it's not an oil spill on my face..perhaps, almost making my skin "normal?". I have experienced no cons with this method or this product. The price point is extremely fair that having to drop MAYBE $60 total per year on the bottle/replenishment is hardly a con. The DHC product actually dissolves in water, so you can massage it on your face for as long as you want before rinsing it off with warm water. It's base is olive oil.

I really love this product and this method. Along with other regimen changes I've made, my skin is in the best shape (so to speak) of its life.

u/erkala21 · 12 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Lipcote helps, but it's not a miracle worker. I find it works best on formulas that are already great for staying power, particularly mattes, but this just makes it even better. A lot of people don't like it because it smells like nail polish and leaves a tingly feeling for a minute, but I use it regularly and don't mind.

u/reasonablylogical · 12 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

If you can get ahold of it in time, Heroine Make Long+Curl looks fabulous and is bulletproof. I usually get it via Amazon Prime here

u/butmehm2 · 11 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer! It smells like mouthwash but is wayyy better than my UD sprays. I used it on my wedding day and, despite the heat, crying, etc., my makeup looked great at the end of the night!

u/thestephanieloves · 11 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Nooo I have moderately long lashes, but no volume or curl at all so they are barely noticeable without mascara. This mascara is a godsend, it's a Japanese brand and super underrated :) I bought mine at Olive Young, but Amazon has it too.

u/zeldas_stylist · 10 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

RAVE: I just recently switched over to Korean BB creams and have seen a noticeable difference in how good they are for my skin! I bought and am testing three:

  • Missha Perfect Cover BB - May be my new HG. My skin feels so nice wearing this, and it stays on perfectly all day. I wore it yesterday and ended up on a spontaneous hike after breakfast and my skin still looked nice!
  • SKIN79 Super+ Beblesh Balm Pretty much the only thing I am wearing today, and so far... so good!
  • Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream - Actually still waiting on this one, but am excited to see if it is more bouncy/dewy than the other two.

I am really pumped all three of these (even the one I haven't tried). I have sensitive, fair, combo skin, and have always hated makeup that was too heavy for me. I think I may have solved my problem! AND they are cheap. So awesome.
u/trbstr · 9 pointsr/LARP

For any sort of makeup whether Dark Elf or tattoo'd, I use a barrier spray before applying to help keep from sweating through the makeup. You can use the same barrier spray as a seal after application, but I use Ben Nye Final Seal for areally nice matte sealer. I played a makeup heavy character (raccoon) and those two things helped tremendously to keep the makeup in place. Both are fairly inexpensive and most costume shops carry both or similar products. Good luck!

u/Gemutlich7 · 9 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

There is a Japanese brand: Kiss Me Heroine. This stuff really stays on and doesn't smudge.

u/vallogallo · 9 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Ok so I'm trying out minimal makeup again. I got the Glossier boy brow and it's been working out really well for me. (I have very sparse eyebrows which I don't understand since I have pretty dark/thick hair, why the hell are my eyebrows so thin?? This stuff rules because I refuse to get my eyebrows plucked/threaded/shaped/microbladed and wanted them to look thicker and fuller. A+ would recommend that product.) Anyway I was looking for mascara recommendations on this sub and wanted some opinions on which one I should go with. This is what I've found:

u/earworms · 9 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

Makin' it easy for you guys!!

There are two different kinds. The Nudes (pictured), and Navy. I haven't tried the Navy. Blue isn't my thang.

u/chaethomia · 8 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Most contouring products are also too orange for me - I completely understand! A lot of us pale folks love using NYX Taupe blush for contouring, it does great at creating a natural-looking shadow.

As far as videos go, Lisa Eldridge is my fav. Check this one out for starters.

Edit: I just realized you said you don't own any blush either. Should probably clarify - the NYX Taupe is for contouring below the blush. You'll need something pinky-peachy for the cheeks themselves. I love Milani baked blush in Luminoso, but you may need to experiment to find something that works well with your skintone.

u/IAmGoingToFuckThat · 8 pointsr/Makeup

Order This! It makes a HUGE difference. I can't tell what your skin tone is, so you might need it in 21 instead of 13.

Edit: to give you an idea, this is me with 21 on half of my face. It is full coverage without being heavy on your skin, but if you're at all oily, you might not like it as it does not have a matte finish.

u/42spleens · 8 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

roseroseshop, eopenmarket, and Amazon have it :) It was my HG BB cream for a while but I suspected it was breaking me out so I stopped using it (and I think it was the culprit) so make sure you patch test :)

u/rach11 · 7 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I love doing colorful looks so I did several to make a rainbow of different colors :)

edit:

Most of the colors came from

my disney trios (mostly pressed nyx pearl pigments and some Sephora brand shadows)

and many came from
my large Shany eyeshadow palette (the colors in this are quite vibrant and I've gotten a ton of use from them)

I used a couple colors from my inglot palette as well

u/aberrasian · 7 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

You need an AM routine! Your skin does look dehydrated, irritated and a bit sun damaged. (Note I'm only saying this from a "specifically scrutinising your skin" point of view. Aesthetically, it actually doesn't look so bad that I'd notice anything if we passed on the street. You're being way harsh on it, most guys have skin that looks like yours or worse and it is very very normal. Definitely not "can't face the public" sort of thing.)

You need to restore your moisture barrier and protect it from the elements. Try an oil cleanser like DHC or Kose Softymo, they are way gentler than foaming cleansers. You just gently smooth the oil over your face to dissolve sebum and dirt, and rinse it off.

Then a hydrating toner, which I would introduce AM and PM, on a wet face to hold in water. Personally I sandwich-layer Etude House Soonjung toner (good for sensitive skin) with Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium (hyaluronic acid and urea for hydration) a couple times, which gives my dry, dehydrated skin a plump dewy glow.

Then a moisturiser, maybe something with ceramides and cholesterol to help you repair your barrier, like Stratia Liquid Gold or Holika Holika Good Cera Cream.

Lastly a broad spectrum sunscreen. A mineral/zinc oxide sunscreen if your skin is sensitive. Just make sure it has an over 16 ppd or PA++++ rating to make sure you're protected from UVA rays which cause aging.

u/boobs_and_brains · 7 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Skinfood's Salmon Dark Circle Skin Corrector! I've never tried the Bobbi Brown but I've heard this is a good dupe. I use it and find it works really well!

Hello! We are happy to have you here! (-:

Personally I like the Holika Holika Petit BB Cream in Clearing. It contains tea tree oil and SPF 30!

I wear it whenever I have redness or pimples and it provides lightweight coverage while neutralizing the redness.

I would suggest getting a setting powder if you decide to wear BB cream, either a translucent or skin tone one. Powder helps the BB cream stay in place and helps with oil control (-:

I've been using this for 6 months and it's absolutely amazing. I'm fairly pale though so take that into consideration. I'd say it's definitely worth a shot and the price is unbeatable.

When I want to cover up bruises or for costume make-up, I use this stuff. Depending on where you live you might be able to find a costume store that sells it, or a place where you can get it shipped quickly!

u/Ninimodo · 6 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Ahh, this is the eternal struggle of Asian lashes.

I've given up on wearing mascara on a daily basis (too lazy) but when I do, I wear tubing mascara. Nothing seems to help with curl longevity for me, but tubing mascara helps me avoid smudges. A lot of folks on /r/MonolidMakeup swear by Japanese or Korean mascaras (Heroine mascara pops up a lot, but I haven't tried it myself).

As far as curlers go, I prefer ones from Asian companies since they tend to be flatter and more accommodating of my eyeshape. I have this Shiseido one and like the curl I get from it. I also haven't experienced pinching with this one.

This is my cat, Mia.
She's about 11 years old now. I got her when I was in 6th grade. She loved to play with plastic toy balls as a kitten, and I loved soccer, so I named her after Mia Hamm. We had to get her spayed and she was pretty traumatized by her experience. Her personality changed, and she was much more scared of everything. She would never come out if anyone besides my parents, my sister and myself were around, and the doorbell would send her into a panic. As someone who suffers from social anxiety, I could relate (as silly as that sounds) and we got very close to each other.

Over time, she came out of her shell more. It took her five years, but now she will approach my boyfriend and even sit with him. She isn't as scared of things, and she is much more outgoing. I've matured over the same time, and I'm not quite as shy as I used to be.

Currently, I'm in grad school a state away, so Mia is currently staying with my parents. When I was in undergrad, I was able to come home every weekend, so it's been hard to be away for so long. I miss her!

I don’t wear foundation often but I am a shiny mess by the end of work. I use a three step skin care process every day and a gel moisturizer , primer, this shine killer, setting powder. and a matte setting spray.

You can use a foundation between the shine killer and matte setting powder. I use this when I include foundation in my routine but I don’t wear it often and definitely don’t use foundation at the hospital.

The only other thing I recommend is using an oil absorbing sheet regularly throughout the night. It’s really the best thing I’ve found to deal with oily skin.

u/try_another4 · 6 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Summary of this horribly long reply:

  1. What I use to remove ridiculously waterproof mascara easily - Garnier Micellar Water (waterproof mascara version?)

  2. How I do it

  3. Heroine Make Long and Curl waterproof Japanese mascara

  4. Better Than Sex waterproof even though mixed reviews

Once you make peace with not having it easy to wash off, the mascara options widen a bit. However there are many ways to ease off mascara, such as coconut oil or other oil based cleansers (but some people don't want to put oil on their face, understandably).

Personally, I use Garnier Micellar Water (the one that says it can take off waterproof mascara), and it definitely does work well and fairly easily. It is oil/alcohol/fragrance free, so it shouldn't aggravate sensitive skin.

Bear with me here: My technique in using it is to soak a bit on a paper towel and bring it to the side of the lashes that get coated with mascara. Instead of just holding it there for a while, I move it as if I am trying to coat the lashes with mascara again, except I'm holding the soaked paper towel, careful not to let it touch my eyes. I do that until they are clean, which does not take long. I see many people removing mascara by holding wipes or whatever directly over the eye without distinguishing which side of the lashes get covered in remover. I hope this makes sense, I haven't really seen many videos on mascara removal, maybe I'm not the only one, but I just kind of did it one day and realized I had been taking off my waterproof mascara the harder way. I also rip out way fewer eyelashes this way!

At the moment I am almost done with a tube of Heroine Make Long and Curl waterproof mascara, and it is Japanese and super-waterproof; most people say it is a beast to remove, but I find it easy with the micellar water. It holds the curl beautifully and survives through crying and rain, and I even took a shower with it on, and there were no smudges, and the curl was still breathing, miraculously. It has fibers that actually do lengthen your lashes, but you may want to add another mascara for volume or purposefully clump lashes together with the brush then only separate a little. I will repurchase, though the shipping takes a few weeks from Amazon.

I also have Better Than Sex waterproof, but that one has many mixed reviews and may not work for you. Also clumpy, but I find that adds drama to my lashes, so I keep it.

Other than that, I don't notice how hard mascaras are to remove anymore, and I've used plenty of drugstore ones, like Loreal Telescopic, many Maybelline ones, and CG Lashblast (all waterproof versions)

u/terberter6669 · 6 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Sure thing! Step-by-step, comin' at you.

  1. Make sure area is clean and dry. Put face moisturizer on it and let it soak in.
  2. Put primer on, not just on the marks but all over the area. This is actually an important step because sweat and clothing are going to be working against you all day so having primer on there will help the makeup adhere to your skin mo' betta. And it'll just look smoother.
  3. Put a color-correcting concealer on. I used green, but yellow would probably also work (green cancels out red tones, yellow cancels out purple). Put the color correcting concealer ONLY on the marks, not the surrounding skin (aside from a little bit of blending so the edges aren't too sharp). I used this flat foundation brush, but fingers might work as well.
  4. Put on your normal, skin-tone concealer. Apply this directly on top of the color correcting one, and also into the surrounding areas to blend it. I used this brush to stipple it on. She can look up youtube videos of how to stipple, but it's basically just bouncing the product onto your skin.
  5. Brush on a thin layer of translucent powder. This helps set the first layer of concealer so that you can pile on more layers without them muddying or blending together, since you want to create a layer effect and not a puddle of concealer. I used this powder and this brush to do so. Any translucent powder and large brush will do the trick!
  6. Repeat step #4!
  7. Then repeat step #5!
  8. Use your normal foundation and stipple brush for a final layer that should be pretty seamless with the rest of your skin.
  9. I chose to do a final layer of translucent powder, but that's because I live in Southern California and it's hot and I need to be prepared for the gym. I'm sweating a lot of the time. She could probably go without.

    Good luck!

You have monolids and as stated by other redditors there's communities on reddit that specifically deal with that.

I find using Asian brands helps because likely they address such issues related to monolids. I keep peddling this product but Kiss Me Heroine Mascara is great for short Asian lashes. It's waterproof and really lengthens. I have cried, sweat, taken a shower, and even swam with this mascara and it does not budge. A waterproof eyeliner is also ideal and I like Dollywink eyeliner and Kiss Me Heroine eyeliner. When you're applying make sure it dries fully and you keep steady and try not to blink.

If you are willing to take a drastic step other people deal with their monolids by using eyelid tape or glue to create "double eyelids". I find it unnecessary because there are other makeup techniques that are specific to monolids. Good luck!

Wow, that's a pretty big haul! It's great that you've got some knowledge of basic skincare and makeup! You can also check out the Beginner's guide for some more information on Asian skincare. The Holy Grail list is also a good introductory resource for different types of layering skincare products, and some makeup products. If you know your skin type and concerns, you can also check out the February Routine thread to see what other users have in their routine and if it helps them.

Now, on to the main concern of your post!

Primers

Like other users have mentioned in your original post, you do have two eye primers. Do you intend on wearing eyeshadow often? If yes, I suggest that you try them and pick the one that works the best for you. If it's possible, you could return both and try the samples instead.

Setting Powder

I think the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder and the Skinfood Peach Sake Silky Finish Powder are great. The best thing about them is that they work wonderfully (given that it's not caked on), and the smooth finish lasts the entire day for me. They are also cost efficient, and you can find plenty of reviews online.

Sun protection

I haven't tried that Shiseido sunscreen, so I can't comment on the quality and effectiveness of it. I suggest that you try it to make sure that:

  • the sun protection is enough for you in your daily activities
  • the finish of the cream is appropriate for your skin type (is it greasy? matte?)
  • your skin doesn't become irritated by the sunscreen

I prefer using the Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel and the newly formulated Biore
    Aqua Rich Watery Essence
. I find that both of them do not cause me to break out, or leave my face feeling oily and greasy. They are seriously my HG. You might want to consider trying these as well! They are a bit cheaper than the Shiseido one, and the PA+++/++++ protection is a huge plus!

    Lip tint

For $12, the Sephora lip stain is not a bad pick up! That's about on par for most Asian lip tints.

    Eyeshadow palettes

Many Asian eyeshadows are neutral colors and tones, and are not as pigmented as other American brands. Personally, I don't mind this because it suits my tastes, but others might. I am a fan of the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and I do recommend them if they aren't out of your price range. I also like the NYX palettes because they are quite affordable with good color pay-off, and the Innisfree Mineral Single Shadows because of the sparkles in some of the selections.

Before you purchase, you can also do some research and look for reviews of other palettes that you're interested in (unless you feel like being adventurous!). Most reviews include swatches so you can see how that color looks on that individual.

I can't comment on the blush or lip primer since I don't use those types of products often in my routine.

Regarding your skin type and concerns... What is your current routine? For color correction, there are many products that help with lightening redness. I have seen much success with using Missha's Time Revolution FTE (old formula) and Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule. These products usually go on sale often, so be sure to check out the Missha sales. You could also look into incorporating some vitamin C, AHA, or BHA products in your routine as well.

There are also many moisturizing creams that can moisturize your skin! You can look through the two lists I linked above to find some of the popular ones that ABers recommend.

Lastly... before I fall asleep ... You don't have to be afraid of skincare and makeup! The process of finding your HG products will require trial and error. Here, I would like to stress that makeup and skincare is very much YMMV. What works for one person may not work for another, so that's why it's important to patch test and do research! For beginners, I would not recommend buying a full sized, expensive, product before trying a sample of it or doing research! The best thing about Sephora is that you can ask for a sample to try at home before you commit to the purchase. That way, if it causes a breakout, you wouldn't have to worry about wasting it or having to make a trip to the store to return it. In addition, by being mindful of the ingredients, you can potentially find out which ingredient(s) cause a bad reaction and avoid it.

We're all very friendly and helpful here, and many of us are able to answer any questions you may have! There's a daily thread that's stickied, and you can ask specific questions there.

    Best of luck!

Sunscreen is really important for preventing wrinkles, regardless of skin color. It is recommended to wear at least 30SPF on your face (I wear 50spf on my face and neck). You should wear sunscreen on your face every single day, regardless if you think you won't have much sun exposure. The sun is not friendly to your skin.

Asian sunscreens, IMO, are the best. They're cheaper and use ingredients that do not irritate the skin (for most people). Asian sunscreens are highly recommended over at /r/skincareaddiction, such as this.

I would recommend one of the Sleek Palettes:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AKB7N4U/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2VJ5ISFGB5TF7

They're very good quality, especially for the price, and although they're not sold in the US, amazon has them.

As for brushes, you'll probably hear Real Techniques as a good brand to try that aren't too expensive. I've never tried them, but I've felt them before when I was at my neighborhood Ulta, and they're soft!

I use this heroine curl mascara that is really waterproof and sweat proof on my bottom lashes! It's doesn't clump at all for me

You should try out the Heroine Make Long and Curl, I bought it a couple of years ago and it's now the only mascara I use. This sucker will not budge - which makes taking it off kind of a pain haha but it is so worth it not to worry about smudging any more. It also holds a curl quite nicely.

Thanks! It took the most self-restraint to not scratch my nose with this on. XD I didn't really try to make it last/not smear because it was late at night, otherwise I would have used a setting spray. I hear Ben Nye has a really great setting spray. I know Ben Nye for special effects makeup, so I would expect that it'd work well for facepaint. Though I already have UD All Nighter so I really should have tried that. It probably would be the same. :)

u/Quixle · 4 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

I quite like Nude Tude from theBalm, $22.06 right now.

I'm sorry, I don't really have a contour palette to recommend, I don't own any. I use separate products for contouring. This Sleek one is cheap with good reviews.

My picks are a rotation of Japanese sunscreens, because when it comes to skincare I just can't stick to one thing!

Some in my rotation:

Disclosure: These are all Amazon non-affiliate links so people here can easily find prices and other reviews (even though I personally shop these on Ebay and Rakuten and not Amazon).

  • Biore Perfect Face Milk - Says it's water resistant, I personally like the finish and can use it under makeup with no issues.

  • Biore Perfect Milk - This is great for going out in my opinion, an actual going outside face sunscreen!

  • Hada Labo Creamy UV Gel - Very light and friendly, I reserve it for interior use.

  • Shiseido SENKA Mineral Water - I really like this one and on me this has a matte powdery finish. Some people complain it goes on greasy. I find that whole it's greasier than others during application, it dries out non-greasy. YMMV.

  • Forgot to add: I use Privacy's UV Face Powder for retouching. It's Zinc Oxide based. There are other sunscreen powders on the market. My mom uses Colorescience's and it can be found on Amazon too, and Peter Thomas Roth also has one. I just use this one because it's cheaper. It's very whitish though so not the best option for darker skintones.

Finally, the cult favorite is Biore Watery Essence so I'm linking it. I personally did not like how drying this was and its citrus smell, but the vast majority of people swear by it because it's really light and easy to use everyday in interiors.

Japanese sunscreens generally contain alcohol and all the ones I listed do contain alcohol, so if you're against alcohol in sunscreen you might not like the ones I list, however there are some well liked alcohol-free Japanese sunscreens that you can find searching online, /r/AsianBeauty can be a good resource for these.

The reason I personally like Japanese sunscreens in particular is their texture and their ingredients. Most of them contain Titanium Dioxide (a physical UV blocker) and/or Zinc Oxide (the broadest spectrum UVA blocker approved for sunscreen use at the moment). UVA are the rays you need to look out for when preventing sings of aging. This is what PA and the plus signs after it stand for in Japanese sun products, while the SPF we are all familiar with only refers to UVB protection. Four plus signs after PA denote the highest level of protection currently in place.

The downside of physical sunscreen it that it tends to leave a white cast behind so darker-skinned people might have issues with this aesthetically.

There might be western sunscreens that are physical but most mainstream brands (like Neutrogena) rely on their chemical patented formula (or a mix of physical and chemical like some of La Roche Posay), which is also good, but can be sensitizing to some people. They also do have a greasier formula that remains tacky at least in my experience, and some people really hate this about sunscreen.

I don't personally use Korean sunscreens at the moment because their regulations only allow PA+++ to be the highest, but many people enjoy their variety, so again you can look in the AsianBeauty subreddit or on youtube/blogs if you want to read reviews of those.

    **

If you for personal reasons would like to get a Western brand physical non-greasy sunscreen, Paula's Choice Resist Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 Tinted Matte Moisturizer contains Zinc Oxide protection and has a matte finish!

Her line is overall well liked by people because of their choice of ingredients due to a philosophy of extensive research. I have this sunscreen and while I found it too drying for my normalish-to-combo skin, it could be a godsend for oilier people. Ideal for daily use, and it has some tint. I haven't tried any other of her sunscreens but her line is worth looking into, if you're new to building a routine! Unfortunately I'm just noticing that since my introduction to this brand in 2014 the prices have raised, most likely due to her online following growing.

    Final note:
All of which I just wrote is stuff I learned from the Internet and also my personal experiences with the products I've tried and liked, I'm not a sun protection expert!*
u/mypanda · 4 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I'd recommend experimenting with Japanese sunscreens like Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel until you find one you can tolerate. There's a lot of sunscreens out there that don't feel nasty at all!

u/treelets · 4 pointsr/AsianBeauty

MBD masks are usually at a good price, along with Missha FTE, and Missha Long Name Ampoule. Most any Hado Labo product is available through Prime such as their HA lotion, Arbutin Milk, cleansing foam, and creamy gel sunscreen, all of which are fairly popular. You can also get the Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream on Prime and some of the rest of the Mizon snail line. There may be a discrepancy of $1-3 between sellers or versus another site, but those all include 2-day shipping and Amazon's customer service which is typically very good about protecting your interests when dealing with third-party vendors.

u/apollymipanthos · 4 pointsr/AsianBeauty

The Biore Sarasara Uv Aqua Rich Waterly Essence Sunscreen 50g Spf50+ Pa+++ is only $10 on Amazon. If alcohol as an ingredient turns you away, there's also this Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel SPF50PA+++ for $14 also on Amazon. Bonus - no white cast from either! :D

This isn't quite what you've asked for, but I've always heard great things about the Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make waterproof formula in terms of holding a curl on very straight lashes. If you're located in the US I don't think you'll be able to walk into a drugstore and pick it up, but if you're willing to order online the price point is comparable to drugstore.

*edit: I should mention that amazon has a well-documented problem with selling cosmetic fakes and since I've never used this mascara I don't know what the listing is supposed to look like. The link I provided does appear to be from Heroine Make and has lots of good reviews but do your own research before purchasing.

u/thesunandthesky · 4 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Super straight Asian lashes here too. Waterproof mascara changed my life. My favorite is Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Long and Curl (Japanese brand you can get on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00INJ7TWW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_D1NNybQRKQZVM), but I've also had decent results with L'Oreal ones. It also helps to find a curler that really fits your eye shape and gets all your lashes.

Ladies, I am sorry for coming to this thread so late because I have the answer!!!!!!! You can turn any lipstick into a kiss-proof, long-lasting lipstick with a British product called Lipcote which you can find on Amazon.

It's a little expensive for the typical drugstore products, but it is soooooo worth it. You can't turn ANY LIPSTICK into long-lasting lipstick. You have to follow the directions exactly, but I swear by it.

I use an Asian brand which is on amazon which is this

Another really popular brand (which I also love) is a DHC brand!

u/mmcremebrulee · 3 pointsr/FeminineNotFeminist

You should try a tubing mascara! It's a different kind of mascara that removes with just warm water and shouldn't smear all over. L'Oreal makes one!

Otherwise, I have to double cleanse to fully remove my masacra. I use a cleansing oil to break-down my makeup then use a regular cleanser on a konjac sponge to fully clean my face!

u/cak17 · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

For a lot of people the “fast” type of Japanese makeup removing oil is drying. I use a not as fast one from DHC which is a good bit more expensive ($28 on amazon right now) but it’s almost just as fast at removing makeup, can give you a really deep clean of your pores if you massage your face for a few min with it, and it’s not drying.

I'm super pale, so my favorite contouring products are the Hourglass Ambient Light Palette and Taupe blush by NYX.

The brushes I use are Sigma F84 Contour Kabuki for the contour, [Sigma F82 Round Kabuki brush] (http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-F82-Round-Kabuki-TM/dp/B0045W22SW/ref=sr_1_15?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1412465163&sr=1-15&keywords=sigma+brush), and a crappy liquid foundation brush like this one only WAY crappier for the lighlighting.I'm definitely looking to replace that old crappy brush...lol.

Here are a couple of video tutorials that I found to be really helpful:

How to Highlight & Contour

Flawless Skin Tutorial by Wayne Goss

u/Tourney · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

It's on the NYX site! It's listed as part of their line of powder blushes, maybe that's why you didn't see it before. Here's a link. It's also here on Cherry Culture, and Amazon has it through third-party sellers here.

u/sympathyboner · 3 pointsr/MakeUpAddictionUK

If you're pale and cool toned, NYX blush in taupe is great (except that it builds up a coating quite quickly so I keep having to scrape off the top layer!). Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's one of the products Boots are stocking, but you can get it on Amazon.

I have heard good things about Sleek's contour kits too, but the only ones I've seen in store to swatch looked a bit too warm for me.

u/daisyismydog · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I'm not sure what you mean by missed out on NYX taupe blush. It's still available on Amazon for a relatively good price: here

I also called NYX last week to see when it would be back in stock and they said late November. :)

Avoid most American BB creams other than the high end, because they keep saying BB cream but I don't think it means what they think it means, if you catch my drift. Korean and Japanese BB creams are really the way to go, though if you really want something now instead of waiting, there is Dr Jart at Sephora that is a Korean brand and pretty nice.

Since you are the one on the left, pale and pink, it's not your fault the lightest shade didn't work for you, that's that particular BB creams fault, and it's one of my biggest pet peeves with those drugstore BBs. Garnier was even worse than the Loreal in this department (can you say ORANGE?!)

N02 is the lightest option for the Bright Fit BB I sent you the link to, but there are other great BB options out there. I oftentimes recommend Missha Perfect Cover in #13 for my pale pink friends as it is neutral (not orange!!) and very flexible moist formula. It has medium to high coverage and is pretty much a jack of all trades BB cream; you can also find sample sizes of it on ebay, too.

u/Khalano · 3 pointsr/MUAontheCheap

Missha US is also having a 40% off sale. Everything is 40% off site wide, and they have a gift with purchase. Spend $100, and you become a VIP member. VIP members get free shipping on orders over $20, 30% off all regular priced items, and a birthday reward. If you don't qualify for free shipping, ground shipping is about $6.
Amazon also carries a lot of Missha items. I feel like they are the cheapest, especially if you figure in shipping. Here is an example:
M Perfect Cover BB Cream #13
Amazon : $10.80 Free Shipping with Prime
Missha US : $13.20 Free shipping with VIP or $5.99 Ground shipping.
Soko Glam : $13.20 Free shipping on orders over $35 or Shipping is $6.95. (Coupon code: MISSHA4U is needed to get 40% off).

u/ilovemygti07 · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

u/zephyrlily · 3 pointsr/PaleMUA

Try Missha's #13. I mix #21 and #13 when I'm slightly more pink in the summer, otherwise just #13 alone is great. The formula is easy to mix, as well as incredibly forgiving to smearing it on your face like a savage when you're in a rush (like me) or using a beauty blender to build coverage (also me).

I used it as a sunscreen stand-in on a vacation once and never went back. There's a great pearly Missha primer too.

u/13emily13 · 3 pointsr/makeupexchange

Lipcote is the shit!

Super awesome at sealing lip products. I have big lips too, and chinstick is a pain.

u/bekfairr · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Try Lipcote. It's about £3/4 and it works a charm. I always forget I have lipstick on but Lipcote over the top stops it from smearing all over my chin and hand. I would suggest waiting for your lipstick to dry or set a little first otherwise you'll fetch the product straight off. Also wipe the wand off before you put it back in the tube unless you want the entire tube to pick up the colour of your lipstick!

u/No_Beating_The_Busch · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Lipstick dries me out, finds it's way into every cakey crevice on my lips & it never stays through drinking, eating, etc. Does lipstick "sealer" really work? Something like this. Can I put lip-gloss/balm over it?

If the magic is real, any suggestions on which one? Something cheap (like under $15) would be fabulous.

Love your hair!
I'm older too, and have a fistful of concealers for my genetic dark circles. One thing that worked for me (where nothing else ever had) was Onomie: I bought the $4 sample, and thought it was another not so great concealer. I used it up because I was too cheap to throw it out. But then I noticed my eyes looking ... better.
So, I use Onomie and then NYX yellow color corrector, or this product I found on /r/asianbeauty. Tarte, Shishedo, Amazing Concealer, Benefit, all settle into the wrinkles. Definitely agree that a very light dust of powder helps.

u/RondaSwanson · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I share your woes as a pale girl. I just bought the Manic Panic Foundation/Corrector in Virgin White off of Amazon and am very happy with it:

I love the manic panic one! People don't think much of manic panic when it comes to makeup but I found out about it from some pale girl blog and a lot of pale girls swear by it. It allows us to buy the correct undertone and then just lightening it instead of having to wear something yellow to get the Right shade or pink etc. it also make expensive makeup last longer and doesn't really mess with the formula at all. For makeup, I'd reccomend Final Seal.

Its used for stage makeup, it isn't super shiney, and a good solid coat will keep you're awesome make-up job on for most of the day (If you're going all day, wash off and re-apply everything after lunch.)

Really nice costume, good job on the dress!

u/BrookeStardust · 3 pointsr/homestuck

This is probably the greatest advice!
I think one of the bigger complaints I've seen at anime cons about Homestuck cosplayers has to do with grey paint getting everywhere. :( Which is an easy thing to avoid (and makes your hotel staff a lot happier when they have to room clean later on!)

Ben Nye makes a pretty good product called Final Seal that works quite well after a translucent powder has been applied. After the fact, you'll probably want to invest in a pack of makeup removing wipes- I've used these to great success, but I am pretty sure any disposable remover will work just fine.

Have fun. :)

I cover them as much as I can, although some aren’t possible to cover long-term - I live in a sub-tropical climate where sleeves and summer don’t mix, and my skin is so pale that I can’t put concealer on them without it being obvious. I always cover them for interviews. I have thought about getting a tattoo sleeve or something to hide them, but I have a feeling big tattoos would have an even more negative effect than just letting the scars show. I have never had anyone say anything, but I have often wondered how it affects people’s perception of me.

If you aren’t as pale as me (I am vampire pale), check out a foundation called Dermacol. You have to make sure you buy it from a reliable website (I linked one below), as there’s a lot of fakes on the market, but the genuine dermacol is amazing and can cover all kinds of marks/scars/tattoos/etc. Applying it to your scars each morning could be a good way of covering them up without having to wear excessive clothing. It’s waterproof, but if you try it and find it’s transferring, there’s another product called Ben Nye final seal which you spray on to make it stick.

My favorite brand for facepainting is TAG Body Paints, you can get the individual pots of color and they have some beautiful blues.

Since it is water activated, it will start coming off if you begin to sweat. I use a sealant instead of water to activate the paint (it's my tried and true method). [Ben Nye Final Seal] (https://www.amazon.ca/Final-Seal-Matte-Makeup-Sealer/dp/B005MZ4A7C) is my go to. It's a little bit pricey but it's definitely worth it to make everything fade proof. Then I set everything with a translucent powder.

To remove, baby oil is where its at.

u/young_and_baroque · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

YNMV on NYX. People love it, but I use it to wet my brush.

Ben Nye comes in a bunch of different sizes (that get SUPER cheap as the size goes up) but you’ll need your own spritzer bottle for the larger sizes. It also has a scent, so if you are sensitive to that beware. But my friend works at Disney Land and he uses Ben Nye to set his makeup, so if it works for a Disney Prince in the summer I’d say it’s good enough for me.

Lots of things are fulfilled by Amazon, but sold by third party sellers, and those things can still be counterfeit. I have purchased a counterfeit product that was fulfilled by Amazon, so I am a bit wary.

So, for example, the Nude Tude on Amazon is sold by Moon Walk and fulfilled by Amazon. That means that Moon Walk is responsible for the authenticity of the product, but Amazon lets them keep it in their warehouse. Thus, if Moon Walk is sketchy, the product is sketchy.

THAT SAID, for theBalm I think a purchase is likely pretty safe, simply because theBalm is on sale so much. It is totally possible that Moon Walk got the palettes at 50% off from theBalm and thus is making a profit at this price. Thus, I wouldn't worry about this product too much... But I just wanted to note that a product being eligible for Prime does not guarantee its authenticity.

u/kdia2055 · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I've been eyeballing this palette for like a month now. It's so much cheaper on amazon than anywhere else I've seen it. You can see swatches for it here. Plus if you do a amazon prime trial you would get it by saturday c:

There are 2 Wet N Wild palettes I reach for when I want purples:

  • Wet N Wild "Lust" Palette

  • Wet N Wild 8-Pan Palette in "Petal Pusher"

My favorite combination lately has been "Standoffish", "Sultry" and "Sexy" from TheBalm's NudeTude palette!

Try this: https://www.amazon.com/Kiss-Me-Heroine-Mascara-01-Black/dp/B007152I9S/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1472864110&sr=8-2&keywords=heroine+make+long+and+curl+mascara
I have stick straight lashes and nothing used to work until I got Heroine Mascara! When I use it I let it dry for a few seconds then I curl my lashes and apply another type of mascara that I have on hand. Idk what kind of magic Heroine Mascara is made of but all of a sudden I have visible lashes.

u/mindyourmittens · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara Long & Curl is really raved about for short lashes that won't curl! :)

u/lgbtqbbq · 3 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Nope, you're thinking of the Long and Curl. There was always a Volume and Curl, they are two different products.

You linked the Volume and Curl version with the old pink package. The new Volume and Curl has a dark purple tube.

The old/new Long and Curl mascaras both (haven't changed) have a bright pink tube.

The Long and Curl is not discontinued- you're thinking of 2 different mascaras and linked one that just resembles the Long and Curl but it's the Volume and Curl.

This is the product you are looking for- zoom in- the tube says Long and Curl, not Volume and Curl the way your pic in the original post says.

u/shitlady-gamer · 3 pointsr/Makeup

Make sure you apply the mascara directly after curling as that "freezes" the curl you've created. I would suggest waterproof mascara as that tends to be lighter than the non-waterproof.

You can purchase most of these at a grocery or drug store, but you could also find these at Ulta or online:

L'oreal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara

L'Oreal Butterfly Lash Out Mascara

Christian Dior Diorshow Mascara

These you will have to buy online.

This is a good site for beauty products.

Biore UV Bright Face Milk is PA++++

I really loved this stuff but unfortunately it's too drying for my skin :( I have a bottle that's still pretty full, if you like I can send it to you! If you're interested in trying it out of course.

I'm trying Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel next, it's supposed to be more moisturizing.

u/smitha12345 · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I love this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BJEAAHY/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687462&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B004LPZZU0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1ZCEK8G78JTGG7H756EE

I also like Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel, but it does make me look a little shiny. Here's the link, though, if you want to look at it. It does have one more "+," so it has better UVA protection.

http://www.amazon.com/Hada-Labo-Creamy-Gel-SPF50PA/dp/B007408PIS/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1418758078&sr=1-1&keywords=hada+labo+uv+creamy+gel

Many here like this one as well, though it dried out my skin a little too much. Might work better on you, though:

For whatever reason the single pack isn't coming up as Prime... :(

Also, the correct amount is 1/4 a tbs. Cheers!

u/ergdegdeg · 3 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I like Shiseido Senka Mineral Water UV Gel and Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel. Both have no white cast and don't break me out if removed properly through double cleansing. As for pilling, that usually happens when you layer two or more products with incompatible bases (e.g. silicone- and water-based products).

Sure, I’ll start with makeup I guess? Without knowing your budget I recommend getting a naked2 palette by urban decay. The shadows blend really nicely and you can get a ton of looks from one palette. Also on YouTube you can search for the specific palette and find tons of step by step tutorials that will use exactly what you have. The key to good makeup is practice.

https://m.sephora.com/product/naked2-P302916?icid2=products%20grid:p302916:product

The palette is $54 and it’s going to be about the same price at Sephora or ulta. If you find it for sale online super cheap it’s going to be fake, even if it’s on amazon or something. And fake eyeshadows don’t blend and don’t show up nice on the skin. It’s not worth it. I recommend buying it online at Sephora. You’ll get to pick free samples at checkout.

So I started off pricey but the rest doesn’t need to be. A great budget brand for lipstick, blush, and eyeliner is Nyx. You can get Nyx at Ulta, and some drug and grocery stores. It’s on amazon too. Their lipsticks are typically under $5, and eyeliners under $10. Most of the stuff they make is pretty good so just give it a shot it if catches your eye.

NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP That's The Point Eyeliner, Hella Fine, 0.02 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075SKT85Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fUthDb38VKQTN

I think this is the eyeliner I used? It’s been a few years now. I preferred a fine tip, felt tip, for easier control. Really you have to try some eyeliners and see what’s easiest for you. Liquid eyeliners come in felt tip (like a marker) or brush tip.

Pencil liners are also a thing. My favorite pencil liner was the Sephora brand. I’d get the travel size because I feel like it’s easier to hold a small pencil. I can’t find it online but they would usually have them at the checkout counter. Pencil eyeliners are really hit or miss. Some brands tug at your skin when you try to put them on and don’t really do a good job.

Primer helps your makeup stay and give you a nice finish. Smashbox was my favorite brand but they are pricier. Available at Sephora or ulta. For budget version, Nyx again.

NYX Studio Perfect Primer, Clear, 1.0 oz/30ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RC4S3M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_13thDbHZYN7NR

Eyeshadow primer is a separate product. Best brands are urban decay or Too Faced. Nyx also has a budget option.

NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Proof It! Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer, 0.23 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M3GYN1G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_I5thDb2N3D00E

I’ve been using the Heroine Make, you can find it at pretty much any Asian Beauty store if you’re in a city. It’s a lot thinner than most American formulas and made my Better Than Sex mascara look sooooo sad. Top one is Heroine Make and bottom is BTS. It is a waterproof one so you’ll need coconut oil or a separate makeup remover for eyes+waterproof makeup like the one from Simple or Garnier, after the mascara dries it seriously doesn’t budge at all. Here’s a photo I took of the wand. The curve is really nice in getting the little hairs by the corner of your eyes and the bottom lash line too!

u/Firstmatewifey · 3 pointsr/FeminineNotFeminist

Something that helped me was realizing that since my eyes are oily, "water"proof mascara does nothing for me. With my eye shape and living in a super humid environment, I stopped wearing bottom lash mascara for a while (!!!) until I fell in love with Heroine Make mascara. It's an Asian brand that DOES. NOT. BUDGE. The only downside for me, is that it is so permanent that if I accidentally touch my contact, it will never come off of it. So proceed with caution! Here is a link to it on Amazon if you're interested in trying it!

For techniques, since switching to that brand I haven't had to use these, but maybe it could be helpful:
Carli Bybel actually just made a video with a technique for this!

u/yuzuuno · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Waterproof mascaras, at least in my experience, smudge far less. You could take a look into those. I have very oily eyelids and lashes and my go-to mascara is the Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara. It's a Japanese brand though, so it isn't ready available and shipping takes quite a while.

u/PrinceManry · 3 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I think AB makeup is onpar if not better than certain Western brands in terms of quality/price point.

There are different makeup trends in Asian than over here, of course, but lots of "universal" products like eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and brow pencils I find to be better bang for your buck. If you're fair skinned and not a fan of "heavy" foundation, you may enjoy Asian bb and cc creams.

Notable Asian items that get brought up here and in r/makeupaddiction quite often:

  • Kiss Me Heroine waterproof mascara - super smudge and waterproof. On lots of people's HG list
  • Faceshop Me:Ex brow pencils (have been compared to ABH brow products but at a fraction of price)
  • Etude House Play 101 sticks
  • Tony Moly Lip Tints
  • PeriPera cushion blusher
  • BB Creams

This is just a quick list off the top of my head. r/makeupaddiction will frequently have Asian makeup reviews if you're curious and want more info
u/twiggyful · 3 pointsr/beauty

I pushed a baby out with this one and it didn’t smudge. This shit is amazing. You’ll need an oil based makeup remover to get it off.

Product Name: Lorac Skinny Palette in Nude!

Your approximate skin tone, and eye color: NC15, MUFE HD Foundation 118. Hazel (green & brown) eyes and brunette/dirty blonde hair.

Link to picture of palette and/or swatches (can be yours, or one you find online): Some photos and swatches here (stolen from /u/earworms who is the entire reason I discovered this palette!) Here is a close up of the palette. There are more swatches with close-ups of each shadow here on Temptalia. :)

Eye shadow colors (all taupey-neutrals, bright neons, etc): Nudes! :D They're pretty warm nudes but I think they're all quite lovely. :)

Finish of the shadows (matte, shimmer, sparkle, etc.): Three matte shades and three shimmery shades. The final shade is kind of mostly matte but with a little sparkle? Not sure how to classify this one.

Where can we get it? Amazon! $15 with prime shipping! I think they also sell it on Zappos, not sure where else.

Things you love about it: IT'S ONLY $15 FOR A LORAC PALETTE. I was lusting after the Pro palettes for a while but couldn't justify the money, and this seemed to descend from the heavens and answer my eyeshadows prayers in a perfectly affordable manner. It is also a perfect super portable palette and can travel easily, and it seems quite durable (I am not graceful and it has survived three falls at my neglectful hands). The shadows are very buttery and soft and the color payoff is wonderful :) The colors work very well together, and they can be used to create a very nice, natural, no-makeup look or used for a more dramatic look.

I am 100% in love with the third shade in from the left and already desperately searching for a dupe of it (would love any suggestions!)

Things you could see others potentially not loving: It could be annoying if you want something exciting as it's just nudes! Also might not be worthwhile if you already have a lot of nudes (as most makeup hoarders tend to!) Also probably not your cup of tea if you have a big preference for mattes over shimmers or vice versa. If you don't like warmer shades this might not be your top pick either!

u/melubcookies · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

My favorite is the lorac skinny nude palette! I've traveled with it a few times already and it was very versatile for me in creating something very muted and light to something smoky/shimmery. It has three matte shades (light, medium, dark) and 4 beautiful shimmers. Here is Temptalia's review with swatches and Amazon has it in stock right now here

Missha Perfect Cover gets a lot of kudos but for me it broke me out. Then again, EVERYTHING breaks me out. I ended up really liking Holika

u/RadioPixie · 2 pointsr/AskWomen
  1. I'm obsessed with Geek Chic Cosmetics eyeshadows. I love the intensity of the colors, and it's really easy for me to apply with a wet brush so they can double as eyeliner.

  2. Been wearing lipsticks more lately, as they're faster for me to go from out of bed to having a "look" for the day. For "normal" colors like red and pink, I like the texture of Revlon Ultimate Suede. Lately, though, I've been wearing weird indie colors like this teal lipstick.

  3. Sun protection is important, but my face is red and needs coverage! BB cream comes to my rescue and does both.

  4. I have the oiliest eyelids on the planet, so in order to use my beloved eyeshadows, I need a primer.

  5. Sounds ridiculous, but this little green concealer stick by Maybelline is great for covering my red spots.

Seconding Ben Nye Final Seal! I cosplay a lot and trust nothing else to keep my makeup flawless all day. I also have the issue with my glasses rubbing off my makeup on my nose and have used it when I am going to be in meetings all day w/o a chance to go check/repowder my nose.

u/nikkithebee · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Highly recommend Ben Nye Final Seal. It's actually made for setting stage makeup where the actors are heavily makeup'd and under very bright lights. I swear by the stuff!

Fair warning: it's heckin minty. Like, make you wince peppermint in your eyes fresh to death. So do your mascara AFTER you set everything else.

As someone mentioned before, the ecotool brush set. Or you can always go with E.L.F.

Not sure with the lipsticks, as I'm still a beginner (and kind of makeup challenged myself) and I right now opt for lip balm or the couple lip stains I have.

As for eye shadow, you can always go with something like this for your neutrals. Or something by NYX (which can be found in some Targets) like this

As for other things to start with, you might want to figure out how her skin care routine is, and toss in a few things that she could use in that regard. It'll make the makeup look better :)

Some other tools that she might not have, like an eyelash curler (E.L.F. has one for $3), NYX Milk is a good base/primer for eyeshadows as well.

For for products with hyaluronic acid in it Hada Labo is your friend. They have a [hydrating hyaluronic acid toner] (https://www.amazon.com/Hada-Labo-Gokujyn-Hyaluronic-Lotion/dp/B000FQUGXA) and facial wash that is loved in this sub. They also have a HA sheet masks, sunscreen, moisterizer and oil cleanser so you could technically make an entire routine with products with HA in them!

u/Skyzfallin · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I only used it twice (that is how much I hated it) and so cannot remember the exact smell. If I have to guess, I think they try to be flowery. The only thing that I recall is that I took a sniff and wanted to throw up. Then the smell lingers. Then there is the feel. It does not feel nice as say compared to loccitane non-spf hand cream. After this, I was afraid to get the loccitane hand cream with spf because I read review about bad smell at sephora.

i rather use PC hand cream (which is not moisturizing) or hada labo uv cream gel spf (for face but is too heavy for my oily skin so I use it on my hands)http://www.amazon.com/Hada-Labo-Creamy-Gel-SPF50PA/dp/B007408PIS. PC is physical sunscreen. I used to use it for the face when they had no other physical sunscreen available.

For my hands, i want to prevent getting madonna like wrinkly hands. Moisture is secondary ti me.

u/girlintaiwan · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Welcome! What are your skin concerns? You said your skin is "semi-oily", does that mean oily T-zone? Do you have any scarring or anything?

To answer your question about panda eyes, I have really bad dark circles and there is some cream I use from Nature Republic. It's helped to brighten up that area a bit.

Also, I noticed that you said you wear suncreen, but that you are "quite tan". I think you should up your sunscreen game. I'm sure you know all about the risks of skin cancer, but (as other AB members can attest to), sun damage can greatly speed up the aging process for your skin. Do yourself a favor and wear a sunscreen with a very high SPF. You can find some great recommendations on this sub; I myself use this one.

u/lalalaliss · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Ok, maybe I can be of some more help. Sunscreen is very confusing and their is a ton of information out there. I got lucky on my first try and found a great product after lots of research. Hado Labo UV Creamy Gel SPF 50 PPD ++++. It's an Asian brand I bought off of Amazon Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel SPF50PA+++ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007408PIS/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_OV2Pub1WW11N2 and is highly reviewed on SCA. It's creamy and moisturizing and dried to a sheen on your skin. It's not drying and not sticky or oily and wears beautifully under my makeup, I love putting it on and it has the highest UVA/UVB rating around. There are many like it but that is something to check out as a starting point.

u/npc_12 · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

This isn't drugstore, but it's around 12 dollars on Amazon: Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel PA++++. Excellent UVA/UVB protection, chemical/physical combo. It does have alchohol, but not as much as other Asian sunscreens. I have dry/sensitive skin and it never flakes or irritates me. It's actually a little hydrating. I will be reordering soon!

u/MidnightFlight · 2 pointsr/AskMen

ditch american sunscreens, they offer shit protection against uva rays.

these two are great:

http://www.amazon.com/Hada-Labo-Creamy-Gel-SPF50PA/dp/B007408PIS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426017554&sr=8-1&keywords=hada+labo+uv+creamy+gel

http://www.amazon.com/Biore-Sarasara-Waterly-Essence-Sunscreen/dp/B004LRO7DO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426017624&sr=8-1&keywords=biore+aqua+rich

far better uva protection, extremely wearable with zero white cast, fairly cheap.

remember that the term "spf" only measures protection against uvb rays, "ppd" or "pa+++/+" is uva protection. uva rays are the ones that cause dna damage, break down collagen, accelerate skin aging, all that shit you want to avoid. a sunscreen with an spf of 70 isn't going to do too much against uva rays for long if its ppd is only ~8, which is where american sunscreens are generally at, but i don't think it'd be a stretch to say most are even below that number.

if you'd rather just buy whatever you see at the drugstore for daily/casual use, it's still light years better than not wearing anything at all. but if you live in florida or california and are outside all day every day, it wouldn't be a bad idea to consider upping your uva protection.

and remember, uvb rays can't penetrate glass but uva rays can - skin damage is still accumulated driving in your car or sitting inside near windows. if you drive a lot, might be something to consider too.

u/zdorobot · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I've been alternating between Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel and Biore Perfect Face Milk depending on if my skin feels dry that day and if I need a sweatproof/waterproof sunscreen or not. Perfect Face Milk can be drying (especially on my dry-ish skin) so I need to use tons of moisturizer underneath, but it is also sweat and water-resistant which is handy when I'm going to be walking around and sweating a lot. UV Creamy Gel is very moisturizing and doesn't require extra moisturizer underneath, but is not resistant to anything.

I also own Rohto Mentholatum Sunplay Super Block and Shiseido Senka Aging Care UV Sunscreen but I don't use them nearly as often. Sunplay is a bit too moisturizing for my liking and Aging Care smells like baby powder and makes my pores look larger after wearing it all day. I have Biore Bright Face Milk coming in the mail right now as well so once I get that I will probably do a comprehensive review of all 5 of those sunscreens.

And no, I am not Asian. I'm Russian (Russian-American? That sounds kinda weird haha) but just really into Asian skincare products.

Innisfree Eco Safety Perfect Sunblock (SPF50+/PA+++) 50ml

Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel SPF50PA+++

Biore Sarasara Uv Aqua Rich Waterly Essence Sunscreen 50g Spf50+ Pa+++

Well, I've know about OCC Lip Tars forever, I mean...everyone kinda does.. but I just got my first one yesterday!! :D Just in time for Fall, and the only one left, I got Black Dahlia. And it's pretty much everything I expected AND hoped for. This stuff is PIGMENTED, and this color is perfect for fall.

Since it IS going to be fall soon, either this palette or this palette would be perfect!

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

It's generally a good idea to use matte eyeshadow on the part of the lid that is not visible when the eyes are open if you have monolids. I'd recommend Sleek i-Divine Ultra Mattes Vol 2 Darks palette. It is very pigmented and blendable and is only $9.49 (with no minimum shipping) [on Amazon] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AKB7N4U/ref=sr_ph_1?qid=1453959677&sr=sr-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sleek+palette+matte). While Vol 1 brights is better than average drugstore matte shadows it still has issues with pigmentation and blendability.

I have two "Highest Priority" items. They seem to be two completely different things- but they are connected. You see, this is to keep my fake-face on.

As a female who wears makeup there is nothing more irritating than when you're doing whatever, you know, looking good.. and suddenly you look at your reflection in a window or something and you're like DAMN WHO LET MY REAL FACE OUT? And you gotta fix that! All that work you spent artfully painting on how your face looks to the public and within hours it's all faded and your eyeliner is halfway down your eyelids. In order to be able to fix it on-the-spot you're suddenly carrying around your whole makeup bag for touch-ups at dinner and when the occasional photographer walks by. Imagine you're out on a date with some hottie and you're like "hey sorry I have to go powder my nose", then you pick up your 3 gallon purse with every brush and gloss known to mankind (all only half-full, of course) and drag it off to the bathroom!

This is just safety standard to cool down after you look so hot for so long. (It can also be used as a blunt weapon to beat the hundreds of people you attract off of you)

^(Also, I am not confident in my baking/cooking abilities)

Edit: fixed first link thx Youjimbo

I really like Japanese drugstore mascara. They don't flake at all for me, add length and volume for me and don't bother my contacts at all. I wear contacts pretty much every single day too. They are also usually waterproof! It's a fiber mascara though.

You can get it on Amazon and it's about drugstore mascara price

I use a gel pencil to tightline, liquid pen for eyeliner and the mascara with no issues too.

I've tried so many that flake, Maybelline ones, UD, bobbi brown, YSL, they all have flaked and smudged.

Another one that I found that was pretty decent at a low price point is actually Sephora's Lashcraft. I was surprised at how well it worked! It didn't flake until maybe like 12 hours and held up really well on my lower lashes.

The Lorac Skinny is only 15 on amazon. It's pretty awesome and has earthy colors. It's also got a great price point if you can't splurge on the pro.

Also, I feel like a broken record here but wet n wild lipsticks are great an 2.00 a piece and you can buy a bunch of them! Also, their Fergie eyeshadow primer I've heard is great but can't attest to that myself.

I just picked up this palette on the recommendation of some people here. It has loads of fun colors. I haven't properly played with all of the colors, but the ones I did tinker with were wonderfully bright for the cost. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I had loads of neutrals, and this is my first collection of BRIGHT shadow. I think its a great set to grab if you want to test out the waters.

u/MyKindOfLullaby · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

Primer is a more slightly sticky base that allows your shadow to adhere to your skin much better than just foundation. A base is slightly stickier and goes on top of a primer to help even more with color payoff. I really like this nyx eyelid primer because it's super affordable and available at so many stores including target and ulta! Just a primer works great but if you want your eyeshadow to really pop then I put a light layer of this nyx jumbo pencil in milk over the primer. Primer is a toootal game changer!!

u/cushionbean · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

In regards to eye shadow, so long as you use a primer, as mentioned by /u/lottiebobs, I think cheaper eye shadows should be mostly fine. I do love the UDPP but I found that using it every day means that it only lasts about two-three months and it's quite pricey to be be buying it that frequently. I've been using Makeup Revolution Eye Primer Original (comes in matte and bright too) and then using NYX's Milk as a base. I got the Milk crayon for £5, so wait until the price is cheaper on Amazon. I find this combination works really well, lasting at least 12 hours. I usually have oily lids that crease horribly without a primer.

Just had a look through Superdrug's Makeup Revolution section and it looks like they have a nice selection of nice eye shadows. I haven't tried them but they have been raved about in the blogging world.

Maybe as a treat to yourself one day, you could consider getting the Lorac Pro Palette from Amazon.com. I did this a couple of weeks ago and just love it. Works out to be about £36, which is the same price as the Naked Palettes but I find the Lorac so versatile and beautifully creamy. There are also loads of tutorials out there on the palette, but I've found it so fun to experiment as all the colours look great together.

u/ulurulouwho · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

I found this if you'd like! Some sellers have free shipping and Amazon only offers it if you spend a certain amount of money.

I've only recently really invested in my skin, so I am a total newb!

Every morning I wake up and shower, washing my face with the water from the showerhead but nothing else. Then, when I get out, I wash with warm water and the CeraVe hydrating cleanser. I then use a damp wash cloth lightly to (very lightly) exfoliate my face. I let that air dry a bit while I brush my teeth, and then add the CeraVe hydrating moisturizer (the one in the tub), and let that dry for a while. I also use this time to exfoliate my lips about 3x a week with the elf lip exfoliator. Once the moisturizer sets, if I'm not going to be photographed with flash, I will add some sunscreen on my face, mostly in my t-zone.

At night I use the Yes! brand makeup remover pads to get all my makeup off, along with a Neutrogena eye makeup remover (don't remember the exact name). Then I use the CeraVe cleanser and moisturizer again before bed.

I am looking into some masks and lip conditioners, but I haven't gotten that far yet!

Here is my item and Ilovethedaisypup

If your instinct is saying red, then I'd stay red! I also say you might as well go for it. I think your complexion can handle a fun coppery red, like Sarah's at Bring More Yarn. Go big or go home, I say. Rainbow!

Also, I vote for a 60's style bob, like Z Berg of the amazing band The Like was rocking for a while. A few more pics of her haircut. I always wanted this haircut.

I'd be a leaf devil whirlwind, especially right now! A small localised whirlwind of chaos that’s more interesting than actually causing trouble or damage.

I think it sums up my recent holiday attempt too - lots of bad stuff happened (pickpocketed, lost, stuck on trains, lost baggage, missed coach) but it was an interesting holiday and looked pretty like leaves swirling in the sky.

Also we actually get leaf devil whirlwinds over here and most other extreme weather kinda avoids Britain... its more cold, wet and mild... but thats no fun to be!

I'm a red head with super pale skin. Had pretty bad acne but it's tons better now and my skin looks pretty awesome. Follow this routine.

Korean skincare routine:

u/FlyFree3 · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Ok, ok, ok! I totally have/had skin just like yours and I get cystic acne really bad on my chin/ nose area. I went gluten free, helped with the cystic acne, but oh mylanta the rest of my face was still terrible, AND DRY! So Proactiv was too drying and caused me to get so dry and irritated that I got eczema on my eyelids. Talking about adding fuel to the fire. So I have a girlfriend who had this face wash that she made me try, I was so desperate to try anything that I did. It was literally a bottle of oil... and made out of olive oil. Who would think to put oil on your face...not me, but I tried it. And immediately after using it I felt a difference. I used it three times the week we were staying together and my face cleared up, it felt softer and less irritated, and I was glowy, instead of red and puffy. This was it http://www.amazon.com/DHC-Deep-Cleansing-6-7fl-oz-200ml/dp/B001UE60E0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395810974&sr=8-1&keywords=oil+face+wash. But you could pretty much just use pure organic coconut oil or olive oil. Now I use one that has oil and shea butter in it that had a sugar scrub like texture so it polishes away the dead skin cells and moisturizes. That is this one http://www.amazon.com/FarmHouse-Fresh-Sugar-Facial-Polish/dp/B004SUHFI8/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1395810446&sr=8-7&keywords=farmhouse+fresh that has a sweet bright citrus scent that wakes me up in the morning. Your makeup is beautiful! Good luck with your skin, I hope this helps you like it did me!

TLDR I heard that using oil on dry skin wont actually clog pores and make you break out more, but that like dissolves like and it fixed my skin!

u/robokitteh · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I believe it's online only. If you're in the states, you can get it on Amazon.com from here.

Maybe try double cleansing--you wash with an oil based cleanser first (I love this one) and follow it with a water based cleanser (like Cetaphil or whatever). I forgot the science behind why it deep cleans your skin better, but it's made a massive difference in my breakouts.

u/milenah · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Yes, you do oil cleanser --> 2nd cleanser (it could be foaming, milk, micellar water, whatever works for you!) There are several oil cleansers that are popular around this sub. Off the top of my head:

Heard good things about the Some By Mi AHA/BHA/PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner. There's also COSRX, and the Benton Aloe BHA Toner. Another option is to use an oil cleanser like the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil.

I'm nervous about trying MACs Studio Fix foundation in NW15 because I'm really super pale and am always scared to try out any foundation (especially one so pricey) because they almost always are too damn dark! I have pink undertones i think, or at least my face gets red very easily.
(i don't have a link to it, but it is on my wish list. amazon doesn't carry it, but I've linked it on there to the mac website lol)

another one is the bb cream Miisha in shade no 13

I've heard this is perfect for pale gals with pink undertones, but again super scared that it will come off too dark or something won't come out right. Sighhhhh

Other than those two, I've never tried out MAC lipstick before! Have always wanted to, but again with my pale coloring i never know what shade ranges i could pull off!

I am trying so hard to learn from you guys, and then I looked on Amazon for this "Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer" and found out it was $20 for half an ounce.

Seriously, everyone, do I really have to shell out that much cash to achieve these awesome results? I am all about paying the extra amount to have the super ultimate better thing that lasts and lasts, but I am hesitant to just throw that much money at something that I am not totally 100% sure is going to be better than the primer I am using for my whole face right now. Really, for real, is that Lorac stuff that much better?

And should I really give up this WalMart/drugstore bs and just go through Amazon or some of those lovely stores like Ulta and Sephora to get the super ultimate stuff you all are always praising? Is it really, truly that much better?

Sing me the song of your peoples, my loves, because I adore and envy all of your gorgeous faces and I sooooo desperately want to try to achieve the awesome results you all have.

u/Sieberella · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

If you're just starting out the biggest advice I can give you is go with ELF products. They're cheap, good products that won't break the bank if you decide all this make up stuff isn't for you.

When doing my face (i'll leave lips and eyeshadow out) here are the steps I take:
***

  1. Primer! Squeeze out a drop on your finger tip, then put a tiny bit on your forehead, chin, and each cheek and massage in. This will help your make up stay on, give it a nice even playing field and just makes it look so much better.

  2. Blemish Control. Now, you can use this pen if you want, a lot comes out at a time and can be a pain to cover up, I prefer this but you'll run out of the green first, but it's nice to have all the other colors for contouring. Put a bit of the green on any redness on your face, a little goes a long way! If you go with the contouring pallet, you can use the yellow to counteract any purple on your face (under your eyes) and you can use the purple to counteract any yellow on your face.

  3. Foundation! if you have a foundation you love, stick with it. I personally use Covergirl. And liquid or powder, it's totally up to you, I just work with liquid better. Now, how I do this is I put about a finger tip full on my forehead, chin, and each cheek. I use my hands to rub it in, UNLESS I have a lot of green on my face for blemishes, then I'll use a brush to rub it in. Go down your neck line a little, but not too much.

  4. Bronzer!. This will give you some dimension and added color to your face. I won't go over contouring, but if you're just doing every day make up, this great. I take a brush like this combine the four colors in the palette and go over my cheeks (below my cheek bones), run a little over my forehead and down my T-zone, and then I use the rest to go behind my ears and down my neck a little to create a blend.

  5. Blush! Now it's blush time! Get a bit on your brush, smile big and just do the apples of your cheeks while brushing a little towards your ears.

    And you're done!

Manic panic white foundation! I bought mine on Amazon [try this! ](Manic Panic Virgin Dreamtone Gothic Foundation Vampire White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004SUGXWC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_5Vv7xb3CNP9EE) you could mix it with your current foundation to make it a lot paler or just go for the white foundation look to get a more original Harley look! Have fun!!

u/lilghost76 · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Manic Panic Dreamtone is a nice white mixer that is affordable. I get it from Amazon. Works great! Link

u/varmintofdarkness · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I've used this in the past to lighten drugstore foundation that was too dark for me, and once I tried it on myself straight-up. It's basically white-out for your face, and it didn't aggravate my acne, so maybe it will work for you?

http://www.amazon.com/Manic-Panic-Virgin-Dreamtone-Foundation/dp/B004SUGXWC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412785609&sr=8-1&keywords=manic+panic+dreamtone+white+foundation

u/kerrykins · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Also!! Whenever I use a higher coverage foundation that doesn't quite match, I mix the foundation with manic panic's white foundation. This makes pretty much any foundation workable :)

u/eatgeeksleeprepeat · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I've used Manic Panic's white foundation (here on Amazon for $9) to lighten a few different foundations and I really like it. It looks naturally lighter and mixes in well. I didn't notice a change to the consistency or finish.

the second set is more expensive because it has far more brushes, and believe me, like artists brushes, makeup brushes can set you back a pretty penny, if you want to go all out.

I have a set of Real Techniques and I do like them a lot, so I'd go with them, especially if she's mentioned them, If you want to get a little crazy get here these two things to go along with the brushes, they're for cleaning purposes:

[Brush Cleaner] (http://www.amazon.com/Coastal-Scents-Makeup-Shampoo-Cleanser/dp/B00ED6FV5G/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1417813820&sr=8-16&keywords=makeup+brush+cleaner)

ALSO, here are more items to add to the Real Techniques set

[stippling brush] (http://www.amazon.com/Real-Techniques-RLT-1408-Stippling-Brush/dp/B004TSFE6Y/ref=pd_sim_bt_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0Y62RVEG9G08C9179CYC)

Not drugstore, but on a drugstore budget: I love Holika Holika's Essential Petit BB cream (That's the one in the orange tube). This is a Korean BB cream, which I like a lot better than any drugstore brand, and find that it actually helps my skin. I apply it with a foundation brush and then make it more matte with a blending sponge, and I find a slightly-larger-than-pea-sized amount is great coverage for me. It also builds nicely if you have an area that needs more coverage. The Essential version is pretty pale, which I like in the winter, and then I usually switch to the Pore Clearing (blue tube) in the summer; I find it matches my skin when I have a tan. Hope it helps!

This is Lady

She's a leopard angelfish that I got as a 'Thank you' for sending some plants that needed thinning out to a friend. Got a tracking number out of the blue and then this beauty showed up on my door step. My friend's wife and I had been discussing angels and I showed her an auction I had been lusting after but was WAY out of my price range. She failed to mention that she had a breeding pair. This is one of the babies. Lady is a massive attention whore, will always come to whatever side of the tank you're on and pose for you. Out of all my fish (and I have about 7 tanks with fish in them now) she's my absolute favorite.

I've been dying to try this

Happy birthday!!! I need to stop doing my makeup when I'm not going anywhere, I'm running out. :)

u/MrsTroy · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

My day is going okay. I've been feeling tummy flutters and "kicks" that feel identical to how it felt when I was pregnant with my son, so I took a test and it was negative. Apparently "phantom baby kicks" are a pretty common thing...which is good, because my son is just under 9 months old, lol! Not ready for #2 yet, but I still made an appointment on Wednesday just to be sure. This week I hope to get all of my laundry caught up, and get my grandpa over here to help Hubs install the new regulator on my stove so I can cook again. I haven't had a stove since the 4th of July, and sandwiches/cereal are getting boring, and eating out is expensive! Tonight when Hubs gets home, I am handing him baby and going to take a shower and shave (this counts as two, I promise!), and later this week I am going out with a couple of friends after baby is in bed for some much-needed karaoke therapy! I'm also supposed to do something today with one of my friends who has a daughter exactly 6 weeks younger than my son. No clue what we are doing yet though. I'll add a link once baby wakes up (he's on me) and I can get to my laptop instead of my phone.
Edit: to add Milk! I don't own any NYX products because no where near me sells them! :(

u/klukins · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

u/heyheynikki · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

Heya, welcome to RAoM!! I hope you enjoy it here :D Also, happy birthday c:

I'd definitely recommend picking up the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk -- it's a great base that really makes colors pop! It's also really creamy, so it blends out easily.

I also love my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. I have Rendezvous (a very orange-y coral) and Lovestick (bright pink), which are perfect for summer. I also have Romantic (pretty true red) and my sister has Crush (a darker plum), which are great for fall. These are really easy to wear because they feel just like lip balms, but they're also very nicely pigmented.

If you want to play around with a lot more colors, I would say go for the Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette -- I use at least one color from this every time I do my make-up! It's not too pricey, but it gives you a lot to experiment with :)

I think it would be a pretty great time to pick up some brushes. Since you're just starting out, I'd probably go with ELF brushes because they're super cheap. Here are a few of my favorites (although I'd recommend looking in store at Target, because the white brushes are only $1 and the black ones are usually only $3; they might be cheaper on the ELF website too):

Eyeshadow Brush -- great for packing on the color
Blending Brush -- because everyone could use a nice blender!
Contouring Brush -- really great for applying color in the crease
12 Piece Set -- I don't actually own all these brushes, but it looks like a great set to start with, especially for only $12!

As for something I'd like...well, I'm currently obsessing over this lipstick in Black Cherry, because it is the PERFECT color for fall, and I don't have any other dark lip colors :3

Oh yea, and Summer Fun !

Funny face without warpaint! :) But I make faces like this because I don't always feel pretty..

I'm extremely self-conscious about my acne. I have it all over my face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. If I don't have at least BB Cream on and end up in public... I do not give eye contact. It bugs me so much! I've had acne since I was 12. I'm 25 now. I feel like it'll never go away. So I'll keep wearing my warpaint and hope for the best. The picture I posted was from a good skin day which are so very few and far between~ sigh maybe one day I'll have the health coverage or the income to see a dermatologist.. one day.

edit: Btw I bet your braces are super cute! I wouldn't worry about those because before too long they'll come off and you'll have an AMAZING smile. Something positive will come of them. :)

edit 2: This would be nice since I have yet to pick one up myself! :3

Oh, SF are one of the biggest issues I have too! I tried Fiddy's method and no grits came out for me last week but I probably have to do it consistently, like once a week. I did find that using a oil cleanser helped in reducing the size of the SF, right now I'm using [DHC Oil Cleanser] (https://www.amazon.com/DHC-Deep-Cleansing-Fluid-Ounce/dp/B001UE60E0) but may try the [Muji Cleansing Oil] (http://www.muji.us/store/sensitive-skin-oil-cleansing-6-76-fl-oz-200ml-1.html) or the [Face Shop Rice Water Cleansing Oil] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00809ERAM/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1944687722&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B001UE60E0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=KCN504M4B7ERDFN953S1) since DHC is rather pricey.

u/IceCreamThief · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

Your skin doesn't have to be dry or oily. It could simply be normal, which is good! A lot of people here enjoy double cleansing (i.e. first using an oil-based cleanser like this to remove makeup then using a regular cleanser to remove residue). I wouldn't recommend a moisturizer with BP, for it is drying and possibly irritating; usually it's used in spot treatments. Have you considered introducing an active?

u/tumblrspice69 · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I take it off immediately with DHC cleansing oil. It's SO gentle and it will take EVERYTHING off. Even though it's an oil it will never clog your pores or feel heavy after it's used.

u/Alkation · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I reckon, but since you're having to scrub to remove your mascara tells me it's not doing a great job.

I've never tried DHC, but it's an Asian Beauty cult favourite for a VERY BIG reason. https://www.amazon.com/DHC-Deep-Cleansing-Fluid-Ounce/dp/B001UE60E0

I liked eucerin's spf 30 everyday protection, but ultimately didn't think it was enough spf.

I used shiseido pretty religiously for a while, it's a dream under makeup.

This Ocean Potion Sunblock was given to me and I saved it for when I needed an all over sunblock, but ended up using it on my face in a pinch and surprisingly it works beautifully and is under $10. It hasn't caused any breakouts and claims to have vitamin a, c and e. I think I'm going to stick with it for a while.

For foundation, I like Missha bb cream and Skin79 Orange Label, but the Asian bb creams are tricky for people with anything but fair skin.

I also really love Bare Minerals and I go back and forth between the two depending on my skin texture (more dry and flaky-bb cream, more oily but clear overall-Bare Minerals)

u/Aiota · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

Sorry, kind of a long winded post based off of inexperience.

Skin Type: I believe I have dry skin, the only issues I have with my skin is flakey patches every once in a while, especially on my forehead and in between my eyebrows. I've also noticed under my eyebrow hairs! Ew! I've never had a problem with oil. Never MAC matched, my current foundation is Naked Skin 1.0 and it's way too dark.

Country/Climate I'm in: Illinois- weather changes all the time. Recently it has been very cool here.

Top Skin Concern: Dry skin. I consistantly have hormonal acne breakouts on my chin which are usually deep and don't have a head. I have a tendency to pick which I know is bad! :( I am currently on birthcontrol. I have redness on the sides of my nose. I also have dark circles under my eyes. The darkness may be caused my having thin skin under my eyes. I can literally see a blood vessel running under my eye!

Current Routine/Products I'm Using:
AM
Cerave knock off moisturizer in the tub

PM
yes to blueberries age refresh smoothing daily cleanser
Cerave knock off moisturizer in the tub
Yes to blueberries age refresh softening facial exfoiliator about once a week
yes to tomatoes clay mask when i remember (once very few weeks usually)

Occassionally I wear a face mask. They're usually cheapies from an asian grocery store. :)

I specifically am interested in incorporating a few more impactful products into my routine. I am almost done with my Cerave knock off moisturizer!
I lurked around and think I am going to get this sunscreen (Biore SARASARA UV Perfect Bright Milk SPF50 + pink bottle). I think I'd like to add 1 or 2 more products and see what I think.
Perhaps this eye cream for my dark under eye circles?

And perhaps this to replace my moisturizer.
I picked these out based off of HG posts, let me know what you guys think! I am interested in masks as well but the prices of the ones I've seen that are recommended kind of scare me off! :(

I have been looking at BB creams and am intersting in MISSHA #13 as was recommended from PaleMUA because I have strong pink undertones! here

I use this stuff for light-medium coverage http://www.amazon.com/MISSHA-Perfect-Cover-Cream-Milky/dp/B003HYPVM8 It looks dark in the amazon photos but I assure you shade number 13 it's wonderfully pale. have a look at it and see if it sounds good to you np.reddit.com/r/MakeupAddicts/comments/233jnt/review_missha_m_perfect_cover_bb_cream_no_13/? http://skinandtonics.com/missha-perfect-cover-bb-cream-review/

I have combination skin that's pale with pink undertones too. I switched from using a heavy foundation to a high coverage BB cream with amazing results. I just make sure to moisturize the dry areas before putting it on. Right now I'm using Missha BB cream in shade #13. It's really cheap and has lasted a long time- so cheap that even if it doesn't work for you, you're not out that much. Good luck!

u/LexicanLuthor · 1 pointr/AskWomen

You can also try Lipcote! It's a clear lipstick sealant that will lock in your color and will take care of any transfer. Its available on amazon here!

u/ssinns · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

Congrats and I hope you do great things with that BIG MONEY!!

I've currently been wanting THIS in l'cole des femmes because I can't really find a color close to it and that KVD packaging is umph!! and THIS because I rarely wear lipstick unless its a lipstick that stays. hopefully this thing will help w/ lipstick longevity!

u/zenzizenzizenzike · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

It's a lipstick sealer. I love it.

u/jkkldfgjklfkl · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

You can also try this stuff! It's a waterproof lipstick sealant and it keeps stuff on your lips / keeps your lipstick off stuff very well, IME. I do find it a bit drying, but then dries my lips out, so it's probably no more drying than any other lip product. It comes off with oil or makeup remover.

u/SchultzAL · 1 pointr/AustralianMakeup

The VelourLips did the same thing to me, yesterday. I think matte liquids are just not for me, so I'm going to try out a matte lipstick. I'm also looking at getting something like Lipcote, but I'm sure that won't leave a matte finish.

u/Luckystar812 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I am awesome and deserve my item because I've been doing super well lately with fixing problems in my life. Huge accomplishments (For example, signing up for full time classes again, and applying for jobs...and hopefully more things like that to come). For two days straight I've been feeling well enough to leave the house, eat full meals all day, get things around the house accomplished (like packing for my move)...And then, overall just feeling...well, kinda happy today. I feel like I deserve at least a ribbon saying "good job".

This item is amazing because it would help me feel extra pretty by enabling me to do my makeup properly. It would make everything a lot smoother and blend much better. :)

This elf face primer

And this cologne for my husband

He's running low on his good smells and I'd hate for him to start using the axe his mother bought him that stuff is terrible. Also I don't want to look a hot mess for him so primer is essential! We can go out on date nights and look/smell nice then come home and practice making a baby!

> skinfood salmon under eye concealer

ooo tell me more about it! is it this product?

u/plaidsuitpants · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

I haven't used it, but I've been looking at this. I'm super pale too so the color is putting me off, but it is an orange color which is supposed to counteract blue.

u/Sprinklepug · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

The Skinfood Dark Circle Corrector is my holy grail and I've tried every corrector in Sephora! I love it for what it does and the price! You have to warm it up a bit in your fingers before you place it under your eye and I usually put another brightening concealer over it but it's truly magic for me.

http://www.amazon.com/Skin-Food-Salmon-Concealer-Blooming/dp/B004FKD3HI

u/FertyMerty · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

You can't go wrong with CoverGirl Clump Crusher. So good.

As for undereye - most people seem to favor NARS creamy radiant concealer or Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer. The former is thicker and more pigmented; the latter is thinner and has a dewier finish with slightly less coverage.

That said, to counteract the blues you have in your inner corner and undereye (which are honestly very slight! You're normal!), you could try careful application of a salmon corrector. I really love this one. Pretty sure NYX makes one too.

u/noys · 1 pointr/sugarfreemua

I use a clean mascara wand I salvaged from an old mascara to comb through my lashes :)

This product gets rave reviews and has a really good price/quality/quantity ratio.

u/gofauvism · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

Skinfood . Every now and then if I rush and use too much, then find myself in a really humid environment - it'll crease a little but it's easy to fix with a finger or q-tip. I'm curious to see how it would behave differently with eyeshadow base under it - it's occurred to me but I just haven't tried it because I'm generally pretty satisfied with it. I never set it with powder, either, but I probably would if I used any, hah. Anyways, I like how it doesn't look muddy or painty, but still covers really well. I find it looks better with time, too, like it settles itself out. As far as my skin/eyes go - I have thin Irish skin, so I get those creases a lot from smiling and having deep set eyes. The dark circles are bluey/purpley in some places and kind of green in others. Cute, right? It's also in between my eyes on the side of my nose, so I use it there too.

edit: plus it's cheap!

u/lordwindykilt · 1 pointr/goth

My go-to is this foundation mix-in by Manic Panic:

Manic Panic Virgin Dreamtone Gothic Foundation Vampire White (1 fl oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004SUGXWC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VEWGDbBFC8388

Unfortunately it doesn't work all on its own and has to be mixed with ordinary foundation, but if used this way, it works wonders. If you can find a good mousse foundation in your skintone (or lighter if preferred), mix an equal amount of the white with that on a beauty blender and then apply to your skin.

Of course, if you want more white, you can use more of the white stuff than normal foundation in your mixture.

Looks divine if topped with a white powder. :)

u/PuddleOfSunshine · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

Oh, and I just thought to add that you might get a lot of use out of a white foundation mixer like Manic Panic Dreamtone or the Life's Entropy white foundation elixir. I'm going to order the Life's Entropy drops very soon so I can resurrect a bunch of foundations from my foundation graveyard.

u/alderfae · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I just add a tiny bit of this to whatever foundation I am using and it lightens it up nicely. I'm very pale, and the undertones in most foundations never match my skin quite right.

I don't wear makeup often because I'm honestly lazy, but I try to never ever leave the house without sunscreen! I use a lot of korean products, like my sunscreen and the BB cream I love.

I've been meaning to get a makeup bag so I can fill it with the stuff I own/will own at some point like: Makeup wipes, travel sunscreen, mascara, liquid eyeliner, bb cream, powder for finishing, set of travel brushes *edit TWEEZERS (I can't tell you how many days have been ruined by a single hair on my neck or some other weird place that I'm sure no one but me has ever noticed).

My favorite product right now is probably this lipstick which I never have the right occasion to wear.

**edit #2 I've also had acne for the last 7 years, which is finally and ever-so-slowly fading away now that I'm in my twenties, so I'm a bit picky when it comes to the makeup I put on my skin. I'm sure if I had flawless skin I'd experiment with makeup way more.

u/not0your0nerd · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

I hope you feel better soon! I'd like to try this Pore Clearing Petit BB Cream and one of my favorite songs when I need cheering up is this one, (I am) The Love Addict by Lonely Forest. I love how upbeat it is and the lyrics are awesome.

u/noiant · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

I have combination skin and I like it haha. That one works fine with a beauty blender for me. I'm talking about this one. I find that the consistency is thicker but when I try to put it on with a beauty blender, it just sticks to it and doesn't spread as evenly on my face.

u/RedRedBettie · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

This is the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/Holika-Clearing-Petit-Control-Powder/dp/B0059NL39U

For me and for oily skin I think this is the best one. The other ones I tried were nice but probably better for normal or drier skin.

u/misserinmay · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

Curiously, what kind of foundation are you looking for (matte, full coverage, etc.?) I trend towards BB Creams myself and I have this (which is lighter) and this (which is heavier), but both work pretty well. :)

Disclaimer: I'm a newbie, so they may not be the best options.

u/mr_jellyneck · 1 pointr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I agree. I've used Garnier's BB Cream and it's really no different from liquid foundation- it really dries my skin out defeating its whole purpose. I purchased a Korean BB cream from Amazon, Holika Holika brand, and I'm really impressed by it- anything I could say about it is covered in the great reviews its received.

Ladies, for the same price you're better off ordering something from Korea. They take their BB creams seriously.

Okay so I saw you said $25 so here's my input.

I was just glammed Meet Matte and I'm really enjoying it. This is the older one which is why it's cheaper. The new one is $42.

Nude'Tude is supposed to be a great UD Naked dupe.

Naked Basics is amazing. It is perfect for wear every single day. I love it.

These Sephora palettes are pretty good. Sephora isn't the greatest brand but it's better than the cheaper stuff and these palettes are a nice deal for the amount you get.

It is a nice tinted foundationthingmoisterizeridkwhatimsaying though because I kinda get what you mean.

I like Tony Moly and this mascara. Shiseido skincare is expensive but really good. Tony Moly's stuff has really nice packaging.

Edit: Upon second look, it looks like Hada Labo's Creamy gel. I have it and it works really nice as a base and it is very light.

u/Helen_Damnation · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I use a lot of Paula's Choice products. The Hado Labe Sunscreen I found on Amazon although the hydrator I can get at my local Ulta.

OTC Vit C Serum and the Mizon Snail Repair (which is actually more of a serum) were also both on Amazon, both of which I was referred to on the asian beauty reddit page.

Good luck! :)

I would like to add Amazon seller SamuraiJapan to the list of recommended sellers. Items ship for free from Japan, and they carry Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence and Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel, the awesomeness of which is explained here, and are two of my personal favorites. Items ship wrapped in bubble wrap in an envelope and arrive in about two weeks (US). I've ordered from them four times in the past year, and each transaction has been smooth.

u/Ambergold7 · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

This thread will probably be more helpful than I can be https://www.reddit.com/r/AusSkincare/comments/3nfk95/sunscreen_for_oily_skin/, but as the thread says, Neutrogena is a good cheap option, and the other best cheap option is Asian sunscreens, of which I swear by Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel SPF 50, it's a famous Japanese sunscreen that's a light, hydrating white cream that melts into skin and lasts for hours. IT's on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Hada-Labo-Creamy-Gel-SPF50PA/dp/B007408PIS or $10-$13 on ebay

u/smeepsmop · 1 pointr/RosaceaHelp

I noticed a big difference once I switched to the CeraVe PM lotion, which I figured was from the extra niacinamide.

This is the sunscreen I bought. It's SPF 50+/PA ++++ (the Amazon page has it mislabeled as PA +++). Honestly, I'm not too concerned about having a crazy high SPF/PA rating, but I wanted to try this sunscreen because I heard it has a nice, lightweight texture that absorbs easily. I will definitely repurchase :)

OCM is.. amazing. I want to experiment with making my own oil cleanser with pure argan oil + an emulsifier eventually.

The AHA/BHA cream is 15%.. I'm not sure what the breakdown is for AHA or BHA alone :/ Is there a particular BHA that you would recommend? I'm just trying to use this stuff up right now.

Hey all!

Issue: Acne

Skin type: Sensitive/dry

Current routine:

Morning:

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser
The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Toner
It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Moisturizing Cream
Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel SPF 50

Evening:
Castor Oil + Sweet Almond Oil (a la http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com) 3-4 nights a week, the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser on the non-OCM nights
CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion on OCM nights, CeraVe SA Lotion for Rough & Bumpy Skin on non-OCM nights

Occasionally used:
ReShape+ Dark Spot Corrector Cream
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Length: I've been using this routine for roughly a month, the newest things I've added are the It Cosmetics moisturizer and the OCM. I know with the OCM they say your skin gets worse before it can get better and to do it consistently for 3 weeks for results but I feel like I've done it that long and my cheeks and around my mouth are still red and bumpy.

Other facts: I'm in the process of decreasing the amount of fast food and greasy food I eat, which is a lot right now but hopefully soon will be none. I think that will clear up my skin a little bit but I feel like poor diet isn't the only thing causing this. With the routine I currently have the bumps on my face tend to go away for a day or two but the redness persists and then the actual bumps return.

Location: Southern California

Any advice/suggestions are welcome; thank you for reading my post!

I am awesome at painting my nails! Here are some pictures!. Plus, something good that has happened recently is that I got a new puppy two weeks ago!

Makeup setting spray!

My freshly showered face, sans warpaint!

I have a lot of issues with my face that I try not to dwell on, namely because I am blessed enough to have minor flaws. Nothing big. Just a couple of weird dry patches, thick red brows, and weird red capillaries around my eyes. I'm super comfy wearing no makeup outside. I just like looking all dolled up and gorgeous. Makeup is such a confidence booster for me!

Thanks for hosting. This is a fun one. :)

ETA: My item!

1. Hard choice, but I THINK it'd be Maybelline. They have great makeup and great bargains. Or maybe E.L.F...

2.

Face: Maybelline Fit Me concealer. That stuff is. amaze. balls.

Cheek: It's weird, but the L'Oreal Fairest Nude Lipstick, because it creates the most beautiful, natural blush.

Lip: Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon, because it's beautimous.

3. Revlon Creme Eyeshadow. I have a quad, and it's so weird. Gunky, gross, and NEVER FREAKING DRIES. Well, I mean, you know, not necessarily dry, but y'know what I mean? That stuff stays about 2 seconds on my lids before sliding off, and I don't have oily lids :(

4. A lot of stuff from E.L.F. I mean, some of their stuff really is worth that $1 you spent on it, but I've had a good experience with most of their products. The one in particular I'm thinking of is their dollar eyelash curler. Maybe I don't love on my eyelashes enough, but I think an eyelash curler is an eyelash curler, and I'd rather buy a new lip product than one of those!

5. I think CoverGirl Quads are pretty great (:

6. Physician's Formula is sorta pricey for what it is.

7. I don't have any thing 'dupeable' because all I have is drugstore:(

8. I honestly don't know, just starting out in makeup, I do a lot of research on here and MUA before buying. Most of what I've bought so far seems pretty good (:

9. Oh God, so many come to mind...I think what I'd most like to try is the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, because the concealer was so freaking amazing!!

10. I don't know... true makeup, probably either this or this. Makeup accessories probably these or these.. But the thing I seriously need that is only makeup related for me is this, because I literally sit on a bucket to do my makeup. Wow, all of that makes me sound like a spoiled brat...Just for the record, I don't expect anyone to actually get them for me, they're just high up there on my WL (: Thank you so so much for the contest!!!

Ok, I'm Asian with oily lids and cry like a baby, and this mascara is my holy grail. It WILL NOT COME OFF (in fact, if you have this I hope you have a good eye makeup remover, cause it's a bitch to get off). It's amazing. https://www.amazon.com/Isehan-heroine-Mascara-SUPER-WATER/dp/B00INJ7TWW

u/Barbalala · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

I bought KissMe Heroine Long & Curl Waterproof Mascara. It's very waterproof and does add volume but not much lengthening, perhaps something to try? I bought mine from ebay though, not amazon.

u/Satirevampire · 1 pointr/MakeupLounge

We have similar eye shapes, and I find winged eyeliner so tricky! Maybe thicken the line that goes along your lashline?
I'd also suggest curling your lashes - I have straight eyelashes, so curl them when wearing make up - my HG mascara is this stuff
Isehan Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara Waterproof Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00INJ7TWW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_AQMuDbQXR7VJA I've even slept with it on (not recommended!!) and my lashes are still in place the next day!
Your eyeshadow is great, and suits you well!

u/jassykangaroo · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Hello and welcome! I see you love mascara! What kind is your favorite! I'm about to finish my mascara soon and want to get this one because everyone loves it (:

u/for_while_true · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I'll start off : not exactly drugstore but cheaper than Sephora. I have my holy grail eyeliner and mascara so I'm never tempted to buy anything else at Sephora or drugstore. I'm at more than 15 repurchase for both of these are $10-11 per item

Kiss Me eyeliner

Kiss Me mascara

Look around Amazon for cheaper options (with slower shipping). I value no-smudge as most important for eye makeup. Staying power is second. With any other eye makeup, I have to constantly wipe under my eye from smudge/flake. With these two, I can confidently go all day without checking for smudge. Every time try new stuff, I end up coming back to these two. These are the only eyeliner/mascara that I've paid for for about 5-6 years. Others were obtained as samples/gifts only

Kat von D tattoo eyeliner has been comparable but didn't perform any better than kiss me eyeliner to justify paying more than double. Haven't tried stila eyeliner

I have yet to find mascara that will make me give up on kiss me (Marc Jacobs, UD, Nars, Bobbi Brown and countless others have failed). The only one I am interested in trying (and have no comparison for) would be better than sex

How do you wash off your mascara?

It's like a neverending bleeding of ink trying to take it off. I usually close my eyes and massage it all and then it transfers to my lower lid then I wipe.. but then there is always more left in my lashes and it takes at least 2 washings to get it all.. Does anyone have any tips? Right now I am using a makeupforever smokey extravagant sample from last year. I am thinking of buying this one but I am worried that I might end up with residue that I can't get off or it just won't come off even with oil cleanser... (I use the illi total aging oil cleanser)

u/rusrslythatdumb · 1 pointr/antiMLM

Heroine Make Mascara is super popular, it's made for short Asian lashes. I think Ulta sells it for more.

I think Emily linked it when she mentioned it and that’s where I knew where to get it from. She definitely mentioned amazon and then I saw there were a couple variations like you said.

u/MerryKerry · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

Yep, they do have neutral-only options - here's their palettes page. There's the Unzipped, Pro to go, Pocket Pro, the Skinny Nude on Amazon, and also some new smaller palettes for the holidays on IG and YouTube.

u/fathippos · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but you can try the lorac skinny pro. It fits in your budget and it's a neutral eyeshadow palette.

It's not drugstore but Lorac Skinny Nude is on Amazon for $15, I've been staring at it for the past hour wondering if I should buy it :P

Hello fellow makeupaddictioner!! I'm OBSESSED with makeup and hair so you're in luck, lol!

First things first: Makeup!
For a very natural, professional, and simple makeup look these are my go to essentials:

  • foundation any type that suits your fancy! My personal favorite is Bare Minerals because it gives a super matte, flawless finish that looks like your skin with minimal effort. I literally just dip my brush in, dust off the excess and swipe that bitch on my face...lol

  • concealer only if you need it/have time. I only do it half the time...lol

  • bronzer I use this just to warm up my face after I apply foundation. Sometimes when you apply foundation it can cause your face to look very flat and one dimensional. Applying bronzer to all of the areas that would naturally get sunlight gives your face depth and dimension.

  • Simple Neutral Eyeshadow No need to get fancy here just a simple neutral eyeshadow will do the trick :) I don't even use multiple colors just one color I like.

  • Blush I apply just a small amount on the apples of my cheeks. My personal favorite is Elf blush in Berry Merry.

  • Mascara I'm sure you know all about mascara!

  • Chapstick I like to use chapstick rather than an actual color when I'm going with a no makeup makeup look.

I think these essentials are perfect for the professional world. The makeup isn't overbearing and it gives you the appearance that all you had to do was wake up and wash your face... that you woke up flawless which I think is infinitely more effective/professional/approachable than piling on tons of makeup.

    Here are some links:

  • Foundation

  • Concealer

  • Bronzer

  • Eyeshadow

  • Blush

  • Mascara

  • Chapstick

Also, here is a tutorial! I really like her and it's very simple and something I would do everyday not just for traveling :)

Now onto Hair... Are you still with me?? lol.

Here are my three favorite "Professional" hairstyles:

  • The Sock Bun

  • The Chignon

  • Ponytail

I think all of these hairstyles will work great with thin hair! Especially the Chignon and the Ponytail!

Here are the tutorials (All for thin hair):

  • The Sock Bun

  • The Chignon

  • Ponytail

I hope you found this really helpful! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask :) I love helping!!

    Bonus - Hair Accessories:

  • Sock Bun Helper

  • Hair Cuff

  • Headband

  • Another Headband

  • Peacock Barrette

    The End! lol :)

    Edit: I'm bad at words.

The little yellow square thing is a the LORAC Skinny Pallet~

I would like to get a new eyeshadow palette as my Coastal Scents one has only one color that I can use out of the nine. These colors in the Lorac pallet I can wear every day to where ever. Plus it's a brand that's pretty fancy and I've never tried them before. :3 Thanks for doing a contest!
Here's the product page!

u/sunshineandspike · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

Just bought mine on amazon, here

u/Kwakwea · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I really wanted a makeup palette, but instead I got body spray with glitter! I'm not a fairy. I don't really care for body glitter, but my sister-in-law loves the stuff, so she got me body spray with body glitter in it. Told me it was candy. When I unwrapped it I have to admit I was disappointed when there was no chocolate. Chocolate was a runner up to what I really wanted! Silly Santa! Can't you read minds?!

My favorite gift was money, so I could have bought what I wanted myself, but I paid bills. If I didn't my internets would go poof and I would go poof and you all would miss me. :D

It's restocked on Amazon. I ordered it this morning and it's still showing as available, so I'd hit it up! Doesn't seem to be selling out this time as quickly, obviously :)

I just ordered a lorac skinny palette from Amazon for £15 including delivery. It's a lovely neutral palette and the quality is amazing imo it beats any sleek or MUA hands down.

Here's the link in case you are interested http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00KYJDWDY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1415815491&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40

You might just need a better liner and some primer. I'd suggest the MUFE Lip Line Perfector, it's another reverse liner that works fabulously. Goes on clear and stays all day. I think it's a must when wearing darker colors, and it seems to be one of the best reverse lip liners out there.

A primer like Too Faced Lip Insurance could also help, and if you really want to keep that shit on lock, you could throw on some Lipcote Lipstick Sealer. Dita Von Teese claims it keeps her lipstick on even through BJs.

The brand referenced by /u/juriana is Isehan, and can be found on Amazon. Here is one of their very affordable and well-reviewed mascaras.
