Yup, you can also find spoons for a "dash" and a "pinch".

I'm thinking you get one of those fancy measuring cups like Alton Brown uses, with a plunger to push out the contents. Load cup with all your burrito goodies, place mini tortilla over mouth, unleash plunger directly into tortilla and nomnomnom.

I LOVE the L-Ascorbic acid powder. Once you learn how to use it, it's a versatile, stable product that will last a long time. I'm currently mixing it with Hada Labo Premium. Here is how I measure for precision:

The scoop it comes with is far too large, so I bought these tiny measuring spoons: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009X1P9S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The smallest spoon is called "Drop" and it is equivalent to 1/64th of a teaspoon. I measure one level spoon of this and tap it into the palm of my hand. Next, I mix 4 drops of Hada Labo into the palm of my hand (**handy trick--one drop carefully dispersed from the bottle is equivalent to the "drop" measuring spoon). Use the spoon to mix it all up. The powder dissolves completely so there is no grittiness, leaving a perfect 20% strength, 3.0 PH Vitamin C serum in your hand. I test with these strips: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DTH14XZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This works out to be enough for my face, neck, décolletage, and the backs of my hands. Voila!

You can actually acquire measuring spoons in those sizes too.

For reference, discarding took about 4.5 months in my 1400 sq foot home and two storage sheds. I have started working on deep cleaning, upgrading necessary yet ugly items, and storage/organizing. I expect this to take another two months. I am watching "Clean My Space" and "Home Organizing by Alejandra.tv" channels on YouTube now to help with the process.

I am trying to keep in mind getting products out of original packaging, if possible, to limit exposure to constant advertising in my home. I am choosing to spend quite a bit on higher quality products that I love and expect to last many years. Fortunately, I have a budget that allows for some luxuries.

Bedroom

I started with my closet and these great baskets from the container store http://www.containerstore.com/s/whitewash-rattan-bins/d?productId=10037633&q=Large%20Rattan%20Bin%20Whitewash. The closet has a built in shoe organizer and I used my label maker to indicate what style shoes go on which shelf – heels, sandals, sneakers, flats and boots. I also labeled the shelf for each basket. Clothes hangers are all white. They used to be all kinds of colors, and I realized that white is more calming. I am now using these for my socks and undies since konmari folding did not quite work for me on those items http://www.amazon.com/MIU-COLOR-Collapsible-Underwear-Organizer/dp/B009A3HTXY. The folding works great for most of my other clothes. I am still pondering how to organize the nightstand drawers.

Kitchen

I bought a couple of 10" bamboo lazy susans for keeping my oils and vinegars organized in my cabinets. I bought some refrigerator organization units from InterDesign and the Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce savers. I intend to get Oxo food storage containers for dry goods.
I upgraded to these measuring spoons http://www.amazon.com/Cuisipro-Stainless-Steel-Measuring-Spoon/dp/B00004SU1I and these measuring cups http://www.amazon.com/Sagler-Measuring-Piece-Heavy-duty-Stainless/dp/B00V5EFWTO.

When I was discarding in my kitchen I found I did not really love my dinnerware so I got this set http://www.amazon.com/Corelle-Coordinates-18-Piece-Dinnerware-Service/dp/B00R790CLY plus matching lunch sized plates. I love the simple clean lines and the durability of the product. I downsized from a 12 person setting to 6 and it is great.

Bath

Have not done much here yet. I don’t have much need for storage organization in the cabinets. Still considering what I want to do with the drawers. Right now the drawers are still organized with small cardboard boxes from Glossybox, a cut down cereal box, and an empty jigsaw puzzle box. I upgraded my plunger and brush to nice stainless steel containers, and got a toilet paper holder that matches them http://www.amazon.com/Home-Basics-Vented-Stainless-Toilet/dp/B00JB20IDW.

Laundry

I replaced my bulky plastic basket with this http://www.amazon.com/Bajer-Design-Marketing-5234-Basket/dp/B0010KZCFC. It now hangs on a Command Hook next to the washer.

Car

I have repacked the car kit and 72 hour emergency kits in these for my car and my son's car. ttp://www.amazon.com/TrunkCratePro-Best-Premium-Trunk-Organizer/dp/B01AHK0J9Y. We live in an area prone to natural disasters so I like to be prepared wherever we are. I bought a car trash container (http://www.amazon.com/Highland-1932600-Car-Trash-Keeper/dp/B0027QWNGO) and created a little kit in a ziplock bag in the glovebox with essentials. Also, found tissues in a round container that fits perfectly in the door cup holder. I also bought a set of matching reusable grocery bags (http://www.amazon.com/ReBagMe-Reusable-Grocery-Reinforced-Handles/dp/B00Y17OIR4) so I don’t have the mismatched set. Finally, I have these on order (http://www.amazon.com/Car-Hammer-Seatbelt-Emergency-Must-Have/dp/B00CB8WM2S). Not organization related, just something I have been thinking that I needed for safety.

Purse

I reassessed what is in my purse. I used a couple small cosmetics bags that I had on hand and now have many things I wished I had at various times. Everything is neatly organized and I know exactly what is in there and why I have it. Everything from safety pins, to pen and notebook (http://www.amazon.com/Marble-Composition-Books-Notebooks-Green/dp/B00WRDIS9I), to a tiny flashlight, a granola bar in case I am out and hungry, a tide stain remover pen, a tiny Band-Aid package, tiny measuring tape (http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-33-115-10-Foot-4-Inch-PowerLock/dp/B00009OYGH), my phone, my wallet, and my keys are always on the little hook. Not exactly Konmari minimalism, but those are all things that I wished I had at various times and I am happy that I will not be caught without again. It is a medium size purse, packed just right, with stuff easily accessible.

Home office

I have not done much there yet, but this drawer organizer is working pretty well http://www.amazon.com/Rolodex-Regeneration-Deep-Drawer-Organizer-21864/dp/B002JG48R4.

Command center

I am currently working on a “Command Center” to keep clutter off the kitchen counter. I have not purchased anything for that yet. I am writing down ideas, measuring, and considering products. http://thehappyhousie.porch.com/20-fabulous-command-centers-to-get-your-life-completely-organized/

Other random stuff:

I moved my CDs into a holder http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-DVDW-92-Capacity-Classic/dp/B00005ATMD and they now live on a Command Hook in my car. For movies I transferred them to these Sleeves http://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-74604729-Movie-Sleeves/dp/B002JR2V7C and they now live in a small drawer in my living room. I tossed the packaging because it was bulky and does not give me joy.

I am using these in my linen closet http://www.amazon.com/Honey-Can-Do-STO-02986-Nested-Woven-Esspresso. This box for my jewelry http://www.amazon.com/Black-Leather-Jewelry-Travel-Case/dp/B0006JCGUM.

Not related to organizing, but I am loving these brushes for getting tiny spaces clean. So much better than an old toothbrush. http://www.amazon.com/OXO-Good-Grips-Clean-Brush/dp/B003M8GMS6

If you made it this far, congrats. Something that I have noticed is that I can now shop with confidence, I can easily toss or donate the old unloved items, and I am organized enough to return those few items that don’t work as well as I hoped. My home feels much more open and inviting. I know where everything is and my clear vision is starting to come to fruition.

> Mixes spice

> Measures quantities

So is mixing spice really a plus, I mean it just dispenses it into the same container, you could just do that with any spice from a jar.

Also for measuring, just get a couple of these sets stick the spoon into the jar, it's hardly rocket science. I can't see what time is being saved here, hell you don't even have a shaker.

But then I think I've got at least 60+ dried herbs/spices in my kitchen so maybe I'm not the target audience.

u/josborne31 · 9 pointsr/tumblr

You can even buy measuring spoons in that size.

u/MisterYouAreSoDumb · 7 pointsr/Nootropics

I don't think anyone should include microscoops. It promotes the idea that volumetric dosing is accurate, which cannot be further from the case. A milligram scale is ALWAYS needed to accurately measure lower dosages. Not to mention all the plastic waste is causes. The only things I use scoops on are products that need larger dosages, have a low side effect profile, and that I have already calibrated using an accurate scale. So things like creatine or mushroom powder extracts I will use one of my stainless steel scoops to dose my powder, as I have already determined which scoops deliver a specific weight for that batch powder, and I know a little variability in the dosage is not going to cause any issues for me. I can wash the stainless steel scoops, and make sure they are sterilized. Plus, they can be used forever, instead of me wasting tons of them by throwing them out. Even with the stainless steel ones, I do not use them for things that need small dosages, like Noopept or Tianeptine. Those ALWAYS get weighed on an accurate milligram scale every time. Accuracy matters. The Gemini-20 is an inexpensive scale that you can get for like $20 on Amazon. There is no reason to not get one.

These are the stainless steel scoops I use: https://www.amazon.com/Norpro-3080-Stainless-Measuring-smidgen/dp/B0009X1P9S/

Here is the Gemini-20: https://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-GEMINI-20-Portable-MilliGram/dp/B0012TDNAM/

actually it's a smidgen or dash measuring spoon for dosage and all plus if you have a nice metal one it's easy to scoop because it's thinner than plastic/a shell ;)

That being said, I give you props for creativity, it's a perfectly good solution.

u/Archons_ · 5 pointsr/researchchemicals

a GOOD scale with a known tolerance. that last part is important. the normal gemini 20 does not have a stated tolerance. one scale could be +- 2mg, the next one could be +-7mg. spend the extra money and get the gemini 20 PRO! its +-2mg tolerance, has a might nicer weigh boat, and can take a power adapter as well as batteries.

you also need small spoons. http://www.amazon.com/Dash-Smidgen-Pinch-Measuring-Spoon/dp/B002X9I4RC i got those. the smallest one (drop i think) fits perfectly into a size 0 gel cap.

next, you need something to hold your chemicals. amazon also has bags of empty gel caps. get size 0. they will be way too large for most RC's... but that way you can also put other chemicals in them if you wish. a size 0 will hold around 400mg of MDMA (or a chemical with similar density). as long as your ok with taking pills, size 0 is the way to go.if you go with something smaller (like size 4 or 3) don't get the above spoons, get a micro scoop or micro spatula. SEOH makes good lab gear for the price, and they also sell though amazon.

when weighing something active <10 mg, you want to NOT tare your scale. put the weigh boat on, and turn it on. let it warm up and make sure there is no air or vibrations. keep it >3 feet from electronics. calibrate your scale using tweezers. never touch the calibration weights. put the empty pulled apart gel cap on the scale. (say its .095 mg). if you want 7mg of chemical, start putting chemical in the pill until your scale reads .102mg. with a +- 2mg tolerance, that means you have between 5 and 9mg of chemical. however, i believe the gemini 20 pro has a linear error since its calibrated with 2 different weights, i think the error would show up when weighing the empty gel cap, and since your measuring the DIFFERENCE in weight, not the weight its self, it will be much more accurate than the +-2mg tolerance.

if you are weighing out large amounts of powder, get some weigh boats. SEOH micro boats are good. they are small, but will hold quite a lot of powder (good up to around 50g of most substances). yet again, amazon.

if you are doing volumetric dosing, get some graduated cylinders... don't cheap out and get plastic ones, get a nice borocilite glass one. and remember, beakers are not for measuring precise liquid plumes, graduated cylinders are! yet again, i have SEOH brand ones. but get what you want. i went with them because i was buying a large bit of glass, and its free shipping with orders over 75 usd, but you most likely won't be spending that :p

u/bquad · 5 pointsr/PlantedTank

It would most likely be okay, but it would be more expensive. That is the main reason that people suggest dry dosing or preparing your own liquid fert stocks.

The easiest way for you to dose a full nitrate, phosphate, potassium (NPK) and trace routine is NiloCG Thrive. This solution has everything that plants would need and you can just follow the instructions on the bottle. For this option you just buy the Thrive, put one or two pumps worth in your tank (start with one and if plants aren't growing well go to two) each week, and then do a 20-30% weekly water change. Easy! You absolutely need to do water changes weekly if you continue adding ferts otherwise the ferts will build up in the water and cause algae or hurt your animal friends.

EI and PPS-pro are more complicated to get going, but once you start they are just as easy as Thrive. I don't know a ton about PPS-pro so I'll focus on EI. Maybe someone else will come in and explain PPS-pro. The general theoretical idea of EI is that you dose nutrients each week so you have more nutrients in the water than your plants could possibly use, but not enough to cause algae. You "reset" nutrient levels each week by doing a 50% water change. The issue with this method is they assume you are running high light and CO2 with fast growing stems that will use lots and lots of nutrients. If this isn't your situation and you follow EI with the instructions that they lay out here you'll end up with too much nutrient in the water relative to what your plants use. This is a recipe for algae. For a true EI dosing routine you dose each nutrient three times each week.

To do the actual dosing you will need this fert package(or an equivalent) and a small set of teaspoons similar to this. These teaspoons are useful because they allow you to measure 1/64 teaspoons, 1/32 teaspoons, 1/16 teaspoons, 1/8 teaspoons, and 1/4 teaspoons, which is right within the range most people need for a single dose. Now we go into this site and look at the table labeled "EI Method Dosing without GH Booster." Find your tank size and it tells you how much of each fertilizer, in teaspoons, you need to add for each dose. For a 10-20 gallon high tech tank that would be 1/8 teaspoon KNO3 (the nitrate source,N), 1/32 teaspoon KH2PO4 (the phosphate source,P), 1/32 teaspoon K2SO4 (an extra source of potassium,K), and 1/32 teaspoon Plantex CSM+B (the trace metal source). Since your tank is low tech I would use 1/4 of these doses. That would mean 1/32 teaspoon KNO3, 1/128 teaspoon KH2PO4, 1/128 teaspoon K2SO4, and 1/128 teaspoon Plantex CSM+B. Add the powders directly to the water one or two times each week and end the week with a 50% water change. I would suggest starting with one dose each week and seeing how your plants look/grow. If they're growing slowly add another dose during the week. If you're unsure if you need additional doses you can measure the nitrate/phosphate levels of your tank at the
"beginning" of the week after you water change, follow regular dosing, and measure at the "end" of the week before you water change. This will give you an idea of how much nutrient is being used on a weekly basis. If its everything you're putting in then your doses are too small or you aren't dosing frequently enough. If you're getting way too much nutrient buildup or you're starting to see algae you should cut down on dosing. At this point you are no longer doing EI, but following your own fertilizer dosing routine that works for your specific tank and conditions. Good job!

One final note is that EI suggests alternating dosing the NPK nutrients on one day and the trace nutrients on the next. This is because the trace nutrients contain iron that can interact with phosphate to form an insoluble precipitate that is unusable by plants. If you're lazy and want to dose on a single day you can do that, but be sure to give the phosphate or traces a few minutes to dissolve in your water before adding the next. One other final note is that once you start modifying EI you should try to decrease the frequency of water changes. Water changes introduce CO2 into your water and fluctuations in CO2 may cause algae. This hasn't been my experience, but others, including the creator of EI dosing, warn against this. I don't know if this is a good enough explanation, but feel free to ask me any questions.

Measuring spoons like these. They go as small as 1/64 of a teaspoon, which should cover you, I think. I use the 1/4 tsp for my 55g.

I like the round ungraduated plastic measuring spoons that are all on a ring. like this. They do the job and are cheap. I usually have 3 sets and just use them all on the ring at once, then throw them all in the sink as they become dirty.

Until we in the US get on the metric train, you could order a set of US measuring cups on Amazon or something. They are usually cheap. I purchased a kitchen scale so that I can make recipes from the rest of the damn world.

> Stainless Spatula (slotted or unslotted)

I like a slotted metal-core silicone spatula for frying in my non-stick pans, and a very thin solid metal spatula for scraping my cast-iron (something like this).

> Silicone spatula

Yes, preferably a regular size one and mini one for getting into narrow jars.

> Silicone spoonula

Yes, see above.

> Stainless spoon 5. Slotted stainless spoon

I prefer plastic and wood, since they're non-stick safe, unless they're polished ones to use for serving.

> Ladle

Yes, preferably plastic

> Wisk

Yes, both a high-density balloon whisk and a silicone-coated one for nonstick pans.

> Tongs (should they be silicone or stainless? do you use these in your nonstick pans?)

Both. Stainless are easier to use, but I always keep a silicone one around for my non-stick pans.

> Peeler/juliene peeler

I'd say no on a peeler. I've found the best approach is to buy cheap ones and toss them when they get dull. Nothing is more dangerous that a dull peeler that you don't want to part with because it matches a set. I personally use the Kuhn Rikon ones that are 3/$10.

I have a julienne peeler, but it's more trouble than it's worth, and I wouldn't recommend it. If you're doing small quantities it's almost as fast to use a knife, and if you're doing large quantities just get a spiralizer.

> Draining spoon (for pasta)

Yes for slotted spoon, but no need for the "pasta spoons" with the tines for grabbing spaghetti. You're much better off just draining your pasta in a colander.

> Potato masher

I've never used mine. I use my RSVP Potato Ricer instead.

> Measuring cups

Yes, preferably metal dry measuring cups and a Pyrex wet measuring cup. For dry measuring, I like the stainless ones with short sturdy handles (such as the KitchenMade ones). Even though the handles are a bit short, they're incredibly sturdy and won't bend or break, and the handles are short enough that they won't cause the cup to tip. For wet measuring, go with the original-style glass ones, and skip the ones with the inaccurate angled measuring surface.

> Measuring spoons

Yes, again preferably stainless and with the little hooks on the end of the handle so you can lay them down flat on a counter (like the Cuisipro ones have).

We both have these amazing measuring spoons on our lists. THEY ARE SO COOL!!! >_<

u/caseycour · 2 pointsr/fitnesscirclejerk

so, the dosing is tricky but it doesn't have to be perfect. 60-100mg is ideal depending on body weight, stim sensitivity, etc.

these little guys are perfect.

Try out a smidge sitting around the house and see how you feel. Adjust accordingly. Add a second smidge for gym time or if you're feeling ballsy, toss a pinch into your preworkout concoction. 1-2 200mg caffeine tablets to finish it off and prepare to leap buildings. If you like the tingle from Jack3d, you can get some Beta Alinine, but I don't find it purposeful beyond that neat little tingle feeling. Citruline Malate can be added for enhanced "pump", but again I don't find it necessary, when preloading on carbs can have the same effect.

u/mastiii · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

When people say 1/4 teaspoon, they mean a measuring spoon like this, not the spoon you eat with!

There's a picture of what 1/4 teaspoon of sunscreen looks like on this webpage and here too.

I would apply that amount for face, let it dry, then apply that much again. That way you make sure you get all parts of your face.

Search reddit for volumetric dosing instructions. I use everclear with alprazolam and a chemistry scale. I really wouldn't use a Jewel scale like a Gemini 20 to measure clonazolam.

List of stuff to accurately weigh small amounts of powders:

https://www.amazon.com/x0-001g-Analytical-Balance-Precision-Electronic/dp/B07JJGM3ZL/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3OUZODGOD5UX6&keywords=analytical+balance+0.001g&qid=1574262324&sprefix=analytical+balanc%2Caps%2C500&sr=8-4

https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Square-Weigh-Boats-Small/dp/B001AEBQW6/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=plastic+weigh+boats+small&qid=1574262373&sr=8-1

Cheap chemistry scales are kind of a pain in the ass to use, just leave them on for 5 minutes before using them, use the calibration weight, and keep them out of the way of air vents and stuff. It takes a bit of practice, but they're way safer to use than a Gemini 20.

Don't know the size of your studio, but IKEA sells several nice islands to fit many budgets and space constraints. A good quality kitchen doesn't really need that much - I like the nesting bowl/measuring cup, but if you don't like plastic, I bought [these] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0000VLCEW/ref=pd_aw_sims_6?pi=SL500_SS115) and love them. If you know what you're doing and can patch a hole well (also, how often does your landlord swing by), you could be fit from a knife rack and/or [utensil rack] (http://m.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/art/50072645/). Might be worthwhile to talk to your landlord and suggest splitting some of that cost if you agree to do the labour and keep the improvements in the apartment. That's what we did and they were fine.

  • Creatine can be taken any time, 5g everyday, even on days you don't lift. Some folks get a bloated feeling, so I wouldn't take it before working out. I usually take mine after I work out in the morning. Then I have the whole rest of the day to stay hydrated, you have to drink a lot of water with creatine, so I'd also expect the scale to go up a few lbs just from water weight retention. Creatine sucks up water into the muscles as it's trying to pull as much into the muscles as possible. Lots of scientific data about this increasing one last rep.

  • I used to use a ton of preworkouts, now I just buy bulksupplements and a weigh scale that can measure up to hundredths, and really small micro measuring spoons so it's easier to get out of the bag. I just use caffeine and beta alanine for the fire ants feel before the workout. BE SURE OF MEASUREMENTS, you'd be in a world of hurt if you go over 600mg of caffeine (200mg is like a cup of black coffee at starbucks). I've only ever gone up to 400mg, and usually it's more like 200-350mg

  • Weigh Scale I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012LOQUQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  • Measuring Spoons: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009X1P9S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  • Creatine any time, don't need it before the workout, only thing you need if you want is caffeine. I highly recommend 1000mg salt and 300mg potassium (from no salt/lite salt). You can use MCT oil, but i would wait on that until later.

  • If you're just endurance training (running/cardio) I wouldn't use creatine. Creatine is made for the weight lifting and contractions to get bigger muscles. Now if you're weight training (anywhere inside 1rep-15reps) for bigger muscles, then I'd just take creatine everyday.

  • BCAAs is recovery, not really necessary during a workout, but some people swear to them. It's a waste of money, you can just get it in a whey protein shake after the workout. I usually take one after I workout (just regular whey protein) as it already has some BCAAs in them. I wouldn't take it for endurance cardio runs; many people on here have documented their endurance is through the roof once keto adaptation takes place. They only need water and just destroy marathons or cycling runs or longer runs in general.

I'm a baker by avocation. To bake, you must be precise. You can't just wing it and expect to get something edible. These days I weigh ingredients instead of measuring.

For all the precision of cocktails, it bothers me that we still use something as imprecise as a dash. Most of the recommendations I find online say a dash is 1/8 teaspoon (though there are a few who say it's 1/6 teaspoon). And for drops, I find anything from 3 to 8 drops.

Since I only mix drinks for myself and occasionally for a roommate who likes her gin and tonics, I'll just continue to mix the way I like them.

For the anal retentive there's always this.

u/alexkitsune · 1 pointr/PlantedTank

Sometimes those little clip on LEDs don't cut it, I'd suggest going to Home depot and getting a pack of their Daylight CFLS and a metal clamp light fixture for it, you could use one or two depending on the length of the tank. Also if you want to go another cheap route get Osmocote+ plant fertilizer. They look like little yellow balls and just stick them in the substrate, good for root feeders like swords. But if you have a lot of stem plants that are column feeders (Lugwidia repens, cabomba, ect.) I'd suggest going the EI route and getting dry fertilizers. They're much cheaper in the long run compared to liquid ferts. You mix them yourself with these There is measuring conversion in the comments section.

I have a full bag of purigen IN my filter Used this one, then I had an old bag, cut it open, and dumped out its contents, and used THAT bag for the filtering through the pump. However, there would be no problems if you got a full bag, cut it open, and then had it go through the mesh and purigen media, just make sure to put a chip clip on it so it doesn't spill everywhere between water changes, and store it in your buckets.

I haven't had a problem with the PH bouncing up and down like PH down will do. The peat actually softens the water through the tannic acid it releases, and it stays there. And yes, I reuse the tights.

Edit: Added links

Edit2: I've hardly ever had luck with any vals, might I recommend Hygrophila Angustifolia? It grows like a weed in my tank!

Thanks for the tip bro! I think you are right. I wasn’t sure micro measuring scales existed so I purchased this:

https://www.amazon.com/SuperDosing-Static-Free-Micro-Variety-Milligram/dp/B0764KFFVP

It arrived yesterday and is pretty convenient. I’ve loaded up 30mg. I’ll slowly work my way up the scale each time. I dont think I’ve had a breakthrough yet. I guess I’d know. Haven’t seen entities but just in passing through and in my peripheral vision.

The Yocan is just brilliant for spice and incredibly efficient. I am wondering if I should purchase a cartridge next. I have found someone that has clear dmt for vape. (Never seen that before)

u/R_MnTnA · 1 pointr/microdosing

You could make a tincture with highest proof alcohol possible like Everclear (grain alcohol) and soak it for several weeks, but I believe that is usually better for higher quantity of shrooms and extracting by evaporating the alcohol. With that little of a dose though I’m not sure if you would get the the full amount of extraction per ml. You could maybe use these little tiny measuring spoons if you didn’t want to try the extraction method. -

u/DelightfullyDivisive · 1 pointr/CBD

I can see how that is a problem. If it isn't a good topic for conversation, you can try being discreet about it. I put my vape and some mini test-tubes filled with ground CBD flower into a portable cigar case. (I have a couple of these from when I smoked cigars more often.)

When I don't want to explain to someone (like my kids) that I'm treating arthritis and workout pain rather than getting high, I'll just carry it with me to the bathroom and vape a little bit in there. I find that a bathroom fan is enough to get right of the smell as long as I'm relatively speedy about loading the vape. I also learned that I need to grind the flower in advance somewhere that smell isn't a problem. Grinding it up produces a strong weed smell, so I do that in the garage when the kids aren't home. (My dosage needs are so low that I only have to do it once per month or so.)

If that really isn't an option, you might want to try small amounts of oil from a couple of different vendors to see if one is more consistent for you. You can also try an e-juice version of the oil and a vape, which is a bit more discreet than a dry-herb vape.

Edit:

I almost forgot - I dose it out using the "smidgen" spoon from this set.

I recently posted asking purple the same thing and he said up to a year if stored correctly (airtight container in freezer). Yep, that's exactly what I do. I purchased a set of these mini measuring spoons: https://www.amazon.com/Norpro-Stainless-Measuring-Spoons-smidgen/dp/B0009X1P9S/ and determine which spoon size matches the desired dose for each compound (weigh it out a couple times). Measure out a dose using said spoon and throw it back with some water in my mouth. Works great.

u/dudemann · 1 pointr/Damnthatsinteresting

There are actually measuring cup type instruments that work like this. You pull back the handle to the right measurement (say, 2 cups or 20 oz), fill it with whatever (say, ketchup or mayo), and push-pop the ingredient right out.

Not going to help clean out your jars though.

u/PJsAreComfy · 1 pointr/internetparents

"Season to taste" is often hard at the beginning while you're learning but honestly - it's always hard for some people. You might be like most people who learn by trial and error or you might be like my best friend who just has a very limited sense of taste. (I'm not exaggerating. He can describe a sauce as "red" but can't tell if it's tomato-based.) If, after trying for a while, you find you're one of those few who continue to struggle, then look for "staple" dishes you enjoy eating and take specific notes about the seasoning levels everyone likes so you can just replicate the measurements down the road.

With things like salt and pepper, remember that you can always add more later so you don't have to figure out the perfect amount while cooking the larger portion; folks can just season their own servings if needed.

These are kind of cute and give informal measurements of "A dash = 1/8 tsp, a pinch= 1/16 tsp and a smidgen = 1/32 tsp." Maybe you use measurements like this as a "cheat sheet" until you figure out what tastes good to you.

You just use the key as a kind of scoop from a bag so it is about how much would end up on the end.

If you are really intent on eyeballing your doses, you could get little spoons like this. Just measure how much is in the spoon when it's leveled off, then you will know how much (of that material) that spoon holds for future uses. One of the problems with eyeballing is that different materials (and different batches) will have different densities, so it really is safer to use a scale...

whats your budget like? building a kitchen can be completely different based on your budget and cooking habits. though my two cents

an adjustacup to save space,

a nice cutting board not one of the cheap plastic ones ( mine warped after 2 handwashed, seriously cheap stuff)

and then think of everything you cook most often. do you need a garlic press? i personally don't, nor do i make things in pots often so i skipped it at first and got one later. i also forgot to get a large frying pan with a lid, so now i have to use a cookie sheet to cook my bean and rice dishes properly. as oswaldcopperpot said, you can always go back and get more stuff, only get what you need. oh and nice metal spice tins. none of that clear crap unless you are keeping all the spices in a cupboard and make sure they seal well.

First thing - make sure you chill it before drinking, that reduces a lot of the pancake-y flavor.

Some things you can easily add for flavoring it as a drink:

  1. cinnamon
  2. instant coffee
  3. chocolate baking powder
  4. matcha green tea powder
  5. PB2 powdered peanut butter

You will probably want to add sweetener. To keep from adding extra calories try ez-sweetz sucralose. If you find yourself adding sweetener regularly, try one of the bulk sucralose or ace-k powders, they are a lot cheaper. But you will probably need a teeny-tiny measuring spoon too.

Mio and Folgers both have "iced coffee" flavorings that are pre-sweetened and much more expensive per serving.

I am grateful for my boobs. They get me free drinks sometimes, but on top of that, they actually hold my drinks for me! This is great whenever I do recreational activities because I always have water at mouth level. On top of that, they can hold my cat for me so I can do stuff with my cat, but still have my hands available. They also act as a great safety pad when I pump into things. Sometimes they work too well and bump into things without any provocation. But they do a great job. 15 10 Or a gift card! Thanks for the awesome contest!

splenda and stevia products that measure the same as sugar are bulked up with maltodextrin, pure starch. a serving size is 1/2 a gram which means it can be rounded down to 0. That means a cup of splenda or stevia with maltodextrin in it has 24 carbs. for someone using a teaspoon here and there thats probably not a big deal, a teaspoon will have 1/2 a gram of carbs. I started drinking lemonade and tea by the gallon making it with splenda and that added up real fast, so I bought some pure sucralose. Sucralose is the actual sweetener in splenda without the maltodextrin, so instead of a cup of splenda with 24 carbs you use about 1/12 of a teaspoon to sweeten a gallon of lemonade. I bought this I got the 250 gram pack, its only about a cup, but its 600 times sweeter than sugar so its equivalent to about 330 lbs of sugar/splenda, so even a smaller package should last quite a while. it pairs well with these spoons its a set of tiny measuring spoons. drop= 1/64th tsp, smidgen= 1/32 tsp, pinch= 1/16 tsp, dash= 1/12 tsp, tad= 1/4 tsp, which works out roughly to the equivalent of 1/5 cup, 2/5 cup, 4/5 cup, 1 cup, and 3 1/8 cup of sweetener. you can also get pure stevia extract powder which is generally around 300 times sweeter than sugar, so about half as strong as sucralose, but it has a bit of a licorice taste. the sucralose tastes the same as splenda because it is the same sweetener, just no bulking agent to add carbs. I spent $39 on this 250 gram bag, sounds like a lot, but being the equivalent of 330 lbs of sweetener it works out to about $0.60 per 5lbs worth of sweetener, which is how much is in a standard bag of splenda.

I really like these. The magnet's nice for keeping them together in the drawer, but the real appeal is the two ends in different shapes. So if I'm baking and need a tablespoon of vanilla and a tablespoon of cinnamon, I can fit the skinny end into the cinnamon jar and have the fat end for vanilla. Wet and dry without having to wash in between. And Amazon says I ordered them five years ago, so good longevity with heavy use.

You actually don't want nearly as much forskolin as is in one of those. I emptied all the pills into the bottle and measure out about 80mg at a time, which is around 3.5mg forskolin. I make gelcaps out of it, but you can also put it in a small piece of toilet paper, put it in your mouth, and chug some water. It's called 'parachuting'. The artichoke, tyrosine, and theanine are all pretty small.
