Takes a minute or so in the microwave:

I use this on my turntable:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I1ZUVK
I usually just put 6 piles around and one in the center. Never thought to make a large one and break off pieces.
Hmm. I wonder if a larger piece could be used as a pizza crust? Kind of like the base of a Mexican tostada? Usually, the crisps are malleable when they first come out, crisping up as they cool, so some people do shape them into taco shells before letting them crisp up.
This looks right:

Plastic. Completely food safe.
Nordic Ware also made the first microwave pan for cooking bacon, likely from the same material.

Do you know the model of microwave? I would think the owners manual would say what type of bulb it takes. If not, could it be these? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWF3P1Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_tApxzbCDK8P6Y
... umm like the microwave bacon thingy?
Actually those bacon trays do a pretty good job.
It’s hard to improve on this:
Rapid Ramen Cooker - Microwave Instant Ramen Noodles in 3 Minutes (Pack of 2) (Packaging may vary) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009QU37TG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_h55KDb2RSVMMS
Once we went microwave, we never looked back. We got a special tray that channels all the grease into one spot. It's much easier to make chewy bacon if that's what you like. Nudity is not a problem. I haven't cooked bacon in a long time though. I prefer ham.
What are you using to microwave it with? A regular plate? Maybe you should try this out: http://www.amazon.com/Presto-05100-PowerCrisp-microwave-cooker/dp/B00006IUWC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367506294&sr=8-1&keywords=microwave+bacon+cooker
It works pretty well, as the fat drains to the bottom of the tray. I can then just pour the fat straight into a container for storing.
I prefer using an oven to cook my bacon, but when I'm in a hurry, I microwave it using this, and it turns out pretty well (as far as microwaved bacon goes anyway).
It's an app with discount codes for amazon. Helpful if you can find something you want. Always check to see if the item is going to be on a slow boat from China, of course. Cheers!
ETA there's nothing good through vipon, but this style works best: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XYJ3TTD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_oggKAbC6WGDER
I'm just going to put this here.
one of my best purchases ever...
Aside from blocking a splatter, microwave covers seem to prevent popping.

They help control the steam?
>keeps the inside of your microwave clean by preventing splatter.
>The vented holes allow steam to release evenly, preventing condensation.
These trays make it fool proof: https://www.amazon.com/Rapid-Microwave-Dishwasher-Safe-Microwaveable-BPA-Free/dp/B077BT9YF8/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?keywords=ramen+cooker&qid=1573429881&sr=8-3-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExSVlNQ0pUTFFRU0hZJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDkzNDg5MjhZU0ZQOElSWFlaOSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjQ3MDQ0MU5FSlBUWElVQzhSOCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

It's not great. They sell various styles of trays (I have the second one) to cook it. Tastes worse than stove top because it's not cooking in its own grease. And it never looks even remotely like the cooked images shown on the boxes.
If you buy this then you can cook any bacon in the microwave! It is delicious and I can actually get it crispier without burning it using this rather than traditional methods!
Had to help a guest find that on the floor the other day. He had walked right past it since he didn't know what the package looks like. Turns out it just looks like the ramen cups.
If you have a microwave, get this tray https://www.amazon.com/Rapid-Ramen-Cooker-Microwave-Packaging/dp/B009QU37TG?th=1
You can get microwave cookware.
bacon cooker

Actually, it looks like the PowerCrisp works better.. I kinda just posted the link for the first bacon cooker I found. Microwaves do a decent job with bacon though cause the thin slices + high fat content.
Cooking normal food usually doesn't go well in the microwave. Things don't usually get crispy in a microwave like they would if normally cooked. You need to be careful about plastic wrap as well. If you're trying to actually cook something go for those microwave safe glass/ceramic containers and lids. Plastics will melt if left in for too long, even ones that are microwave safe can bubble.
If your water is hard, I would also advise against using it to heat up a cup of water for tea/coffee/etc. You'll eventually end up with lime deposits on the cup which are no fun to clean out.
Microwave Cover: basically is just an easy way to cover dishes in the microwave so they don't splash, without having to use paper towels
Orange Peeler: exactly what it sounds like, in that it is a device to help make the peeling of citrus less frustrating.
Use the Nordic ware tray and cover, works like a charm. I clean mine in a dishwasher to deal with the mess.

if i really don't have time to make breakfast, i use my microwave egg cooker for making perfectly round egg patties for english muffins ( http://www.nordicware.com/store/products/detail/microwave-eggs-n-muffin-breakfast-pan/9DF1BCFA-C0F9-102B-9706-00137233C6B0 ) and maybe my microwave bacon cooker ( http://www.amazon.com/Presto-05100-Microwave-Bacon-Cooker/dp/B00006IUWC )
It'll take experimentation, since microwave wattages can vary. Better to boil the water in the microwave, then as the noodles.
We have one of these though, and it works quite well.
http://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Ware-Microwave-Bacon-Defroster/dp/B00080QJXE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1292729319&sr=8-4
it has mixed results on amazon.
Have you tried a tortilla warmer, one that looks like a pillow cushion? It is awesome.
Put your tortilla inside the cushion, and microwave for 15 seconds per tortilla.
Ah, I see.
Take a block of wood, glue it to a wooden base, cut a slot for a lever made of a strip of PSB, or even a broken hack-saw blade.
Then mount one of those little micro-switches either side of the lever, pointing in opposite directions (two switches in all).
You'll need to move them around to get exactly the right feel. You could mount them with hot glue so you can change it.
Then wire the contacts so it makes one big change-over. with a momentary action each side.
You can get various types of micro-switch, some with a lever and some without.

There's lots cheaper on ebay of course.

(I meant tergikleen) I don't know. I haven't washed any records in a month because I'm afraid to. I suppose I will start again and wash only old records till I figure out. I could have swore I didn't have any haze on the first records I did. I haven't been doing this long.
btw, I bought and received one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I1ZUVK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's a circular silicone microwave mat. It says 'Red 12 inch diameter microwave mat fits most turntables' ;)
It overlaps in to the outer troughts of my oil pan. Doesn't have a center hole. I think it must be bigger than 12" diameter. I haven't measured it yet. I want to get a bigger oil pan anyway so the outer edges get more contact with the paint pad. The thickness is about right ~1/16" (?). I haven't figured out what glue I should use to attach it after I find a bigger oil pan. If you know tell me.
Something like this?
"microwave bacon tray"
The paper towel thing works, but they don't turn out as good. If you plan on doing a lot of bacon microwaving, get one of these. If not, the paper towel thing works good enough imo
Yeah, we have Wallace Farms bacon every morning. Our hack to make it easily is to use a microwave bacon plate with its lid add-on. Load it up and 4-5 min later, perfect bacon. It helps to let it sit a little after cooking too. Their beef bacon (which I didn't know was a thing before ordering from Wallace Farms) is pretty good too.
I have a Microwave bacon tray
http://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Ware-Microwave-Bacon-Defroster/dp/B00080QJXE
It gets as crispy as you want it. Pro-tip use papertowels to help with excess grease
Buying this was a game changer for me. Let's you cook a whole pack (12 slices) of regular bacon in the microwave in like 8 minutes. Comes out pretty well.
Presto Bacon Microwave Cooker, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016N3PGQK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_2eFJAbE4X6Z7T
I think my biggest stigma with home-cooking wasn't always that cooking was hard, on the contrary I enjoy trying to make stuff myself, it was that something wouldn't come out tasty or it would be bland. Really most recipes or meal ideas aren't that hard to follow and I'm sure people on this thread will give you some good ones, but I'm going to give you some extra advice and just remind you to season your food well, like before and after cooking. If a recipe calls for like a teaspoon of cumin or whatever, try a tablespoon or more, worst case it tastes a lot like cumin, which was the point of adding it in the first place right? I even read something yesterday about how mothers in one country or another add extra seasoning to veggies for little kids because they might not like the taste of veggies the first time they have it and they slowly take away seasoning as they become accustomed to it. You don't necessarily have to measure out all these seasonings they're usually supposed to be to taste, so make sure you can taste them.
Also, short plug, there's a lot of easy ways to cook a lot of other staples and sure, you can always roast potatoes, but if you're looking for a way to bake them that doesn't take an hour and a half, these are literally the most useful cheap kitchen gadget in my kitchen, https://www.amazon.com/MyLifeUNIT-Microwave-Potato-Baked-Baking/dp/B016MC5IVK. Doesn't matter which one you get or color, make your own if you want, they're terry cloth I think, but perfect baked potato in like 5 minutes every time. We usually do sweet potatoes, but the regular ones would probably be fine too.
Wow that's gonna be hard. You can go waay 90s, and use microwave egg poachers/bacon racks/griddle/steamer. We had one of those egg poacher things when I was a kid and it worked fine for a long time. I wouldn't expect any of those things to last forever, but they're cheap and should last you at least a couple years.
With those, obviously you could make bacon & eggs. You could also steam cauliflower for cauli mash?
I make this on a silicone microwave mat instead of the pie pan. It takes a minute to spread the mixture out thin ( I just use a fork to do this). Also, if I'm watching my calorie intake for the day I will sub 3 tablespoons of allwhites for the egg, and a tablespoon of pumpkin puree for the oil. Works great and cuts the calories down to about 120 calories, though it does add trace carbs (less then 1).
microwave flax wrap
microwave cover works fine
I have an awesome bacon maker that you stick in the microwave and it drains the bacon grease off as the bacon cooks
My dogs love bacon grease in their food :D
http://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Ware-Microwave-Sided-Round/dp/B00004W4UM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1321865233&sr=8-5
I recommend this product. Makes perfect bacon, cleans easily. Cover with paper towel. You will get a little grease spatter but just wipe out your micro every once in a while.
Would suggest pairing with a rapid ramen microwave bowl, uses only half the seasoning packet if you're cutting back on salt
https://www.amazon.ca/Rapid-Ramen-Cooker-Microwave-Packaging/dp/B009QU37TG/
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Compatible-Microwave-Turntable-Replacement/dp/B0751JJJ8H should theoretically do the trick!
You can get hanging ones, but then you will end up with triangle bacon.
Yes! We have a microwave cover that has magnets, and it sticks to the top of the microwave when not in use. No clutter on the counter! (I don’t know what they did to the magnets to make them microwave safe, but they are.)
Edit: We got ours at Fry’s, but here’s a similar one from Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B077RJJNW7/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_-pxFDbWEWS2FM
Here's one place.
You can try using this. Seems to be well reviewed.
Still possible. It requires a bit of involvement until you get to know the characteristics of your microwave, but I did my bacon microwave only for years, and it came out perfectly most of the time. I like mine with a little chew also.
I used this and later this.
You can also use a shitload of paper towels on a plate - but the cookers are a little neater to use.
IMO they worked equally well. You do need to be careful or parts of the bacon will overheat and (IMO) taste off. But that "off" taste is exactly how my wife's bacon tastes when I cook it for her in a pan - she likes it damn near burned.
Takes a bit of experimentation, but you can do half a dozen strips in around 5 min once you get the hang. Thinner bacon takes considerably less time, really thick might take a bit more. Reduced power is the key. I haven't done it that way in awhile for no particular reason, but 70-80% power is good. Depending on the thickness of the bacon, I use about .75 minutes * number of strips. Again keep an eye on it until you get a feel. 30 more seconds can make a significant difference with bacon. Also, it will cook just a little more while it cools off.

I bought a Nordicware 2 Sided Microwaveable Plate for Bacon. 3 strips in the microwave for 3 minutes and 30 seconds and it is PERFECT bacon. Way better than I have ever been able to do in a pan and it's so quick. Here is the plate on amazon.

I'm guessing they can't go in an oven, but apparently they keep tortillas warm for up too an hour, so maybe I won't need to put it in there. Unless they only keep tortillas warm for up to an hour after microwaving, so maybe I could microwave the bag for a few seconds to get it up to heat, and then plop the naan in when I'm done cooking it on the stove top. Haha, honestly I'm not quite sure!

The door switches are a safety mechanism. If the door is not closed tightly and quick enough, the fuse will blow.
Make sure that your original fuse is not a slow-blow. Microwaves will sometimes use these.
I have replaced these switches and had good luck. I have also replaced these switches and never gotten the microwave to work. They have to close in the correct sequence.
Here is a link to a new switch. Just don’t use the terminal that you do not need.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074DYY29L/ref=cm_sw_r_em_api_i_c_ORd4BbZNBQGBG
Do not waste time getting on this. Black Friday is coming. Microwaves will be cheap if yours does not work.
I watch Home Depot. They always have microwaves left over after Christmas. About February, they get real cheap.
I usually bake the bacon like you described, but my new place isn't completely level and I've been too lazy to fix it. So all the grease will go to the right side of the baking sheet, so not all of it is submerged in its own rendered fat, so it cooks really uneven. So I've been using this old thing my Mom gave me that makes it so you can microwave bacon. (Not that as seen on TV piece of crap) It delivers the perfect chewiness/crispiness, and holds about 6-7 slices. about 1 minute per piece of bacon. After 6 pieces, then just add 30 seconds per piece, so usually never more than 7 1/2 minutes. It has a place where the grease drains, then I can store it easily in a separate container.
Also, I cover the bacon with a paper towel while it cooks. Not sure why, but Mom always did, so I do too.
Found it on Amazon

Yea, but this one is better. http://www.amazon.com/Presto-05100-Microwave-Bacon-Cooker/dp/B00006IUWC/ref=pd_sim_k_28
Microwave bacon is the best, so long as you have a proper bacon tray. Place bacon on tray and cover with 3-4 layers of paper towels. Cook for 1 minute per slice to start. Check bacon, flipping paper towels at the same time. Results in nice crispy bacon with the fat drained away. Just make sure to remove the paper towels right when it's done so the grease doesn't harden and glue the paper towel to the bacon.
