boots!
Yes! I just bought these a month ago after a rather long search and I wear them daily in Chicago when it’s been snowing/ice/slush.
They’re comfortable and waterproof.

Boots for $24.99, marked high priority!
These high priority boots :)
I'm her wife. She needs these boots
I have a few different casual boots that I wear throughout the winter (and the fall and the spring because it's almost always cold where I live). Current line up:
I got these last year and love them. I have fibro RA, oesteoarthris, and a few other problems. These are comfortable and warm.
GLOBALWIN Women's YY03 Black Fashion Snow Boots 10M https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0751L16F9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4SIZDbB0YGF38
I have a pair of Madden Girl combat boots, which is an even lower price point than Steve Madden, but one boot I have has lasted years. I wore them very often 3-5 times a week in the fall and winter from 2011 to right now. I'm about to replace them since the fake leather is peeling off on the inner sides, but other than that they are really comfortable. Like work a retail 12 hours shift comfortable. I'm going to get these next to replace them soon.
Black like my cold dead heart. You can see them here.
These will work great! I've had them for a year now and they do fantastic through Chicago winters. Last year when it was -55 these boots kept me toasty and they're isnt a bit of wool on them! I also have chunky calfs and they fit great!

No need to spend all day! They are pretty comfortable and easy to walk in because the heels are chunky.

I have these boots and absolutely love them. Good price too

For extra warmth with any boot though just spray antiperspirant on your feet and wear merino wool socks
Casual Rebellious Slytherin Student
Full costume
Shirt
Tie
Skirt
Cardigan
Snake Tights
Knee High socks
Boots
This is definitely for the more creative and rebellious slytherin student. It toes the line of sticking to the rules, but also shows their house spirit. It follows the traditional requirements of a white button up shirt, grey sweater, and Slytherin colored tie, but replaces the black skirt with a green one, black plain shoes with black boots, and throws in some snake tights and knee high socks.
The majority of my shoes are Keens. I do have a pair of Keen Baby Bern boots, which are great since I live in a cold and snowy place. I also have these Keen Elsa booties, but they also have taller winter boot versions. Most recently they've been carrying these leather chelsea boot style and this ankle zipper style that I'm thinking about getting. I would keep an eye out because they do carry different styles that might be slightly more office appropriate than the hiking boots. Most of my leather sandals are from Keen as well.
Merrell and Keen both have some nice looking flat boots (e.g. 1, 2, and 3). I've seen lots of people wearing those Merrells with skirts and looking very stylish.
Anyone have experience with Limelight boots? Do they have a general sizing tendency to run either large or small? Looking to grab these'uns for a friend but can't find a review.
I'd also be open to other, higher quality recommendations based on a similar look/style or at least something with a known sizing.
I've ordered the Agiesmax down balaclava and booties for my girlfriend who runs cold, and she's loved them.

I'm late but I looove fall/winter shoes, so here are my most important ones :)
Gabor booties with a little heel. Pics make them look way more clumsy than they are.
Timberland boots in black. I love these so much. Extremely warm and comfy. Now going for the 3rd winter and I need to get the sole fixed, otherwise they are great.
These!
One pair of wedge booties, which have been my go-to boots for at least three years.
Plus one pair of Lowa Renegades, for the really tough weather and of course for walking the dog.
I neeeed black, flat, tall boots. This is pretty much the only thing missing in my shoe rack right now :)
I have these for snow boots, coming from Central New York.

I used to have a pair of Sorel's but the ankle part was cutting into me. These Columbia boots are super comfy, very warm with fluff inside, and have large mobility in the ankle which is unlike most snow boots.
Boots: I have Raynauds so I have a lot of opinions about boots and here are all of my recommendations:
Face and head: I think the best is a knit hat with an inside fleecey part over your ears, like this. I wear glasses, so I usually don't cover my face because they fog up, but sometimes I use a buff.
Warm underlayers: if you don't mind spending money, merino wool ones are lovely. They are $$ though so I mostly wear Uniqlo HEATTECH all over my whole body and would definitely recommend that.
Also you didn't ask for this but Darn Tough socks are A+. And if your hands get cold, buy a giant box of hand warmers and keep them in your pockets.
I was thinking about these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078Y3G2TB/?coliid=IPH2IGS6LUE4H&colid=5ODZMULGIK9I&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
Thanks for all your suggestions! I just got a pair of Columbia Ice Maiden II Winter Boots and also a pair of Minnetonka Cally mocs. Here's to toasty warm feet!
[here they are](Nike SF Air Force 1 Hi Black/Black-Dark Grey (9 D(M) US) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0784LLX84/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8utlDb8N92M1Q)
There’s a few versions on the amazon page for some reason so just looked for Black/Grey.
Shoe inserts! I've had better luck with the foam than gel personally, but others prefer gel. I wear some cheapy boots that can get muddy and dusty, and put a new pair of inserts in each day. My shoes have basically no support or cushioning but they are fine with the inserts.
These are boots I wear (I'm a girl)

I bought these amazing boots and they are my favorite things ever. They aren't bulky at all. They are lightweight, fashionable, and will keep you toasty warm and dry. I know they aren't cheap but online black friday deals are going to be coming out soon. I got mine on sale and they are worth every single penny. New England winters suck too so, I feel your pain there. I hope you find everything you are looking for!
Suggestion, since Steve Madden's tend to be cheaply made and there are quite a few complaints about broken zippers and things. These are some awesome boots that are similar and will likely hold up better for longer (I'm partial, because I have them). If you're willing to spend the extra few bucks, it'll probably be worth it. Here you go!
I've got two pairs of ankle boots I wear for traveling, an old Merrell Shiloh Cuff and the Teva De La Vina ankle. (Though TBH the "low" Tevas might be better if you have narrow ankles like I do because with the ankle ones I worry the rain will get in between the boot and my skinny jeans.) Unless you've got a well-loved pair of broken-in sturdy boots, I'd go for a comfort one like those, because they're good for all that walking immediately and you can often find them for $50-60 on Amazon.
I'm currently wearing these Doc Martens , which I got years ago, and love, they are holding up great.
I'm sometimes wearing these Rocket Dog boots, which I got because they are cheap, they seem to keep water out, and while they are kind of loose, it means they are quick to get on and go out, easy to wear with skirts.
Here are some from Timberland.
This pair by Sebago looks quite nice, but it's only available in size 5. I found them in a 9 here, but otherwise you might have to wait for them to restock.
Fuck: Cashmere, Modal, Merino, silk. Black, full grain leather, 5 in heel, combat boots. Black leather, inch thick ankle strap, stilettos from Bakers (RIP). Jambu Cruise Encore winter boots ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BFSQMJH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_12lvCbHMYF0T8 )
Marry: anything v-neck, dark indigo wash jeans, ballet flats, black ankle to mid calf boots, Hunter galoshes, built in bra camis, bralettes (my fancy trainers,Lol, have been saving me money, and awkwardness of shopping in the girls dept since 2014), wool blazers, hats (newsie, cloche, fedora, any homag to Eliza Doolittle @ Ascot), rompers (the few that I own, don't make me look twelve)
Kill: ripped jeans (never owned but, it's trashy, same with shorts that leak the pockets out from the Hem); white shoes to match your phosphorescent teeth (proudly never have owned, every year it's "trend".No, it's beating the back door of China, because the dead horse and the ground beneath have been gone since the 90's); any fit a flare dress ( I'm 5'3 , 107 , and well past looking like a tween), winter coats that are not waterproof/warm/tailored/styled to my taste; rot in hell)
