I'll assume that ball is 10cm diameter, so its
radius=5cm
volume=524 cm^3
a penny is 3% copper (density 8,96 g/cm^3 )
and 97% zinc (density 7,14 g/cm^3 )
so total weight is 524cm^3 (8,96 g/cm^3 3% + 7,14 g/cm^3 97%) = 3770g

(it has to be less than that ofc because that ball is not homogeneous)

EDIT: /u/s1th_lord and others asked about the tape. This pack of 32 1200in rolls of tape totals 30480in = 975.36m and weighs 1.63lb = 740g. I'll assume there are 100g of spool etc so 640g of "pure" tape.

It seems OP used tape over every coin, and a penny is 19,05mm diameter, so 1000 pennies = 19,05m of tape.

The weight of tape used then = 19,05m
640 g / 975.36m = 12 grams.

Glue. Yes, there is clothes glue. Well, tape actually: Hollywood Fashion Secrets Medical Quality Double-Stick Apparel Tape, 3 tins x 36 strips Value Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AR4BLWA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_6DPCAbWDY3BHR

This lip ripping piece of work right here.

Fellow Title 1 teacher in MN. I find that preemptively taping book covers REALLY helps a lot. I used to tape the entire cover with scotch tape - which took forever. Then I used packing tape or book tape which also took a long time. Now, I tend to just tape the spine and the sides of the book and they are doing alright. Not nearly as great as fully-taped, but better than nothing. Gorilla glue is a lifesaver for repairing the spines- just be sure you put a binder clip over the spine since it tends to expand as it dries.

Taping made my first set of amulet books last around 3 years, if that gives you a general idea of efficacy.

Lastly, if you get used books, I highly recommend ones that were at a library since they already have the clear plastic library stuff on them.

Get Cloth Book Binding Repair Tape, it comes in 15 yard rolls for like 20 Bucks, you can get it in any color to match your book. Easy to use and if you have a nice printer you can print spines on it before using it after you cut to length what you need.

EDIT: https://www.amazon.com/Colored-Premium-Cloth-Binding-Repair-BookGuard/dp/B00W3SRRJO/ref=sr_1_1?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1500058566&sr=1-1&keywords=Binding+tape+for+paper

3 inch should be enough for your book.
Hope this helps

If you go to an art supply store, they have special paper tape that you can use - it is virtually invisible and will bring those pages back together. Sample here:
book repair tape from amazon

Or you can buy neutral pH Glue and glue the pages together at the spine very carefully. Should also be available at an art supply store (specialty ones) Product here:

I've always used the Hollywood Fashion Tape or, because sometimes I just really need it to hold, duct tape or skin-safe sports tape. Duct tape isn't exactly skin safe for long wear, but it gets the job done.

u/gearhedd · 4 pointsr/reloading

Yeah!

For those interested, I found these awhile back when I had a similar idea:

Chalk

Dry Erase

u/Malinhion · 4 pointsr/dndnext

Dry Erase Tape for things you need to erase on your character sheet. My entire crew uses it for HP and we just pass around a wet/dry erase marker.

u/clgonsal · 4 pointsr/LifeProTips

Make sure to use acid-free tape if you want the poster to last a really long time. If the tape isn't acid-free it'll eventually yellow and eat the edges of the poster.

I do this on book dust jackets, which always seem to get kind of frayed and tattered around the edges otherwise on frequently used books (particularly kids' books). For that I use acid-free book tape, which is also great for repairing books, or reinforcing spines of kids' books.

u/saifrc · 3 pointsr/boardgames

This non-adhesive tape will help keep your cards together without needing a bulky deck box, and often keep the cards in the original box (sleeved or not). Plus, three rolls of it are way cheaper than the deck box that you linked to.

So far the examples with scotch tape have looked pretty good. I'm tempted to do it, but I'm not entirely sure the tape comes in the size of the screen.

Edit: just looked at the matte screen protector. WOW. That looks really tempting.

Edit 2: damn, that example is also scotch tape. I'm gonna start researching giant rolls of scotch tape.

Edit 3: http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Book-Inches-Yards-845/dp/B00006IF5R/
This stuff might do the trick. Comes in 4" width, so I can try a strip on each eye. That should cover the entire screen. If it's the same structure as the regular scotch tape, it should look pretty good.

u/cooperred · 3 pointsr/theydidthemath

How big is a roll? There's 1/2 x 450 inch, 3/4 x 1000 inch, 3/4 x 300 inch and probably a lot more.

Surface area of the earth is 196.9 million square miles. That's 7.9 x 10^17 square inches.

If we use the first roll, each roll has 225 square inches. We'd need 3.5 x 10^15 rolls.
If we use the second roll, each one has 750 square inches. We'd need 1 x 10^15 rolls.
The third roll also has 225 square inches, so it'd be the same as the first

I have a 44 page comic that I bound by printing it on 8.5x11 in sheets (not as a booklet) and stapled alongside the left edge of the stack, then I covered the staples with some book binding tape. It's a bit more work than a zine usually takes but it gives a nice result! I got a lot of compliments on the binding when I first made the book.

u/Listener-of-Sithis · 2 pointsr/Homebrewing

I don’t have a full kegerator, but I did get one of the Hopsy keg systems. I was trying to find a good way to make a label, and I found a roll of dry erase tape . Works a charm.

u/AndrewFlash · 2 pointsr/math

Shower board from a hardware store makes a good, cheap whiteboard for those 2 A.M. sessions. Otherwise I hear they sell whiteboard tape and you can apply it to anything.

Something I found useful as I got farther into math and science. YMMV.

u/Zagaroth · 2 pointsr/Bedbugs

>If I place the dust everywhere, should I try to refrain from vacuuming? Or just reapply after vacuuming?

I'd vacuum, then apply, then re-apply after any future vacuuming.

>Can you possibly link me to the pump/sprayer?

Here's 2 options, we used this one ourselves, but this one seems to be promoted by Amazon right now. Looking at that yellow one... eh, I'd personally recommend going with the first one. THe extra $6 is worth it for higher quality.

>How much is needed for a ~800 sq. Ft. Apartment?

Per their Amazon link, 2 ounces covers 100 ft^2, large bottles are 4 ounce, so you'd want 4 large bottles

Oh, and as a safety given the high chance other apartments are infested, you probably want this XFasten double sided tape, you will want to make squares around every power/cable/telephone/airvent/etc. outlet, and a large square above your bed, slightly larger than your bed. Yes, they are known to crawl along the ceiling then drop down onto beds.

u/clockworkstarlight · 2 pointsr/boardgames

I know people have answered with the thing you wanted, but if you want a cheap and easy solution for keeping track of base power in in the meantime, dry erase tape affixed to some card stock or cardboard, and a marker.

https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Erase-White-1-88-Inch-5-Yard/dp/B00NBL3YR6

It's about the same amount of effort to erase and re-write the power as it is to click through the numbers; it is admittedly much less cool looking.

You're right i'm waaaaaay off my estimated price, it's about half the price i thought it would be.

I'm sorry dude I just gave my opinion on how to easily improve the aesthetic of your setup but you clearly don't really care about it, then again why post on this sub reddit then ?

u/ghostholly · 2 pointsr/books

I'm also pretty particular about my books, so I think I understand your friend. If ever you feel like your paperbacks are falling apart at the spine, use [book binding tape.] (http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Book-Inches-Yards-845/dp/B00006IF5R) You won't ever have to worry about creasing the spine again!

Oh I got you. Just saw a lot of special poster tape items online and a lot of reviews said they don't hold stuff up very long. And bigger stuff is even worse. So just wanted to see.

I️ used liquid electric tape and something similar to blue tac (it’s a putty) around the edges and connectors. But tbh it was messy and hard, I️ would use silicone next time. But I️ did buy one of these to protect the power button. Surprised someone else hasn't said Scotch tape yet... Clear and adhesion that won't pull up anything.

I did this the other day to my refrigerator, except instead of paint I used Dry Erase Tape.

I put a strip by the front door so I can leave my roommates and self reminders when I walk out the door like "Pick up TP."

u/staple_this · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

As an alternative, there's also fashion tape like this that will hold up socks, though you'd probably have to use several per leg

Alternatively and even cheaper would be a plain easel sketch pad and a roll of removable mounting tape.
