I wanted an accurate as possible remake of the movie poster/Jackie Treehorn scene outfit for my Dude cosplay without spending a ton of cash, and here's what I came up with-

 

pants

 

shirt. the deep V is a requirement imo, though I wish I'd have dirtied mine up a bit before the event.

 

the Otomix shoes he wears have since been updated to a new look and the classics are expensive/hard to find. I opted for some el cheapo white tennis shoes that looked similar and painted on the logo. close enough.

 

sweater. I didn't want to shell out the cash for an original and the knock-offs are of poor quality, so I commissioned a friend of my mom to knit a replica based on the pattern.

 

the sunglasses were another "close enough" for me and I just wore my raybans.

 

I'd never roll with fake hair since it looks ridiculous, so I just grew out my hair and beard, then dyed them brown to match

I found these ones that are exactly the same on Ebay, but they're used and there's only three days or so left on the auction. Bonus: Looks like the same carpet as Digibro's old house. 99% chance just a coincidence, but that 1% means you might be buying the actual pants from the video.

I also found something pretty close. It's the Gen 1 starters, but there's no black background and it's uniform all over instead of having big pictures of them on the left leg. In my opinion it looks a little better.

I also found this one that's a little bit closer, but it's all the Eeveelutions instead of the starters and still isn't different on the left leg.

I'm more interested in his pants. Too bad they only have 3X. They have some in stock that are polyester but they don't look like they have pockets and don't look as comfy. And I think part of channeling your inner Dude is being as comfy as possible at all times.

And I just want to point out that by chance I'm drinking a white russian in my PJs right now.

I have some nice pajama pants like so that I normally wear. Nice material but still lightweight.

I don't wear a shirt most nights. If it is cold I use more covers. I have a flippin' great comforter that makes winter almost pleasant.

All these non-preppers sleeping in the nude are going to find themselves outside stark naked some day in the winter while their house is burning down and all their neighbors gather around to gawk. I, at least, will have thin cotton pants on despite the bare chest and feet.

I think that buys me 2 minutes before hypothermia sets in and a -10 embarassment while outside.
