Normally I would agree about not using them, but this one has been nice and i feel it helps just move the air out quikce

I use this one on my PS4 and find it works well. Plus it adds a USB port etc and just plugs into the PS4

I use this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00JJHPC9Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_23?qid=1398339211&sr=8-23&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70 the only problem is it only has one power button for the fans and charger. So you need to have the fans on to charge the controllers in standby.

Not the exact manufacturer that mine was but identical design. I linked this one because they have an option for more usb ports/controller chargers. Only issue I have and others do too is the built in fans can be almost as loud as the ps4 when it's running hot. I don't keep the stand fans on all the time and just use them for long gaming sessions.

Hey gottem

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/PS4

It's $25 on U.S. Amazon, a little more

There's also this (Boston Accessories) which seemed promising because it acts as a stand, cooler, charger and gives an extra USB port all in one.

It looks the same as Aweek's.

u/Vargasa871 · 1 pointr/PS4Deals

This is the one I use

It's only $20 and has both extra USB ports and charging docks.

I've been using for a few months and it works. My ps4 fans still go into hyperdrive but hopefully it makes a difference.

> I don't get the argument here. Parts cost money, so does a new console. Just like how you'd swap out your console, you swap out your GPU.

Then I'll elaborate.

> It seems like you think that for every new console generation, PC gamers swap out every single part of their computer when in nearly all cases it's just a GPU replacement.

...I don't, but I can definitely tell you missed the point.

> You don’t need to replace your entire system to spend a lot of money on hardware.

That's the point. People will often point out the fact that often times, console gamers will spend money on consoles with each generation to keep up with the next. My point was that on PC, you'd likely have to spend money on hardware for similar reasoning. For example, even though you'd likely have to spend money going from one console to the next, a PC gamer would likely have to get a new GPU to keep up with DirectX, or at least to make sure they have a GPU than can handle new games on High settings.

Basically, you'd spend money to keep up with the games either way.

> What is even the argument here?

See above.

> You do realize that by playing games on your PS4, you're pushing the system just as we do with our PCs? Except we can do stuff like making sure our system doesn't overheat and damage parts by installing coolers and monitoring temps.

While monitoring temperatures is indeed something you can't do on a PS4, sure, you can put it on a cooling pad, which would help. Also, extra cooling fans for consoles exist

> Consoles have huge issues with cooling because of their smaller parts, PCs do not.

Mini ITX systems. Laptops. A closed-off, poorly ventilated room. PCs can have similar issues.

> There are free options such as SteamOS, and right now Windows 10 can be installed completely for free through Microsoft's website (you have to live with a watermark though). Also pre-builts with Windows are most likely OEM versions, which means the cost of the OS is significantly lower.

This part is about when I was taking the extreme of "never having to upgrade your PC's hardware," which isn't true. Either way, a console's OS is free too, so I guess this just means the two are pretty similar in that regard.

> So when developers decide to make a game available for all available platforms, and the PC version runs at 30fps with subpar graphics and little options, you say that it has nothing to do with the console versions?

Yes. Because they don't have to. In your own words:

> on PC because you have benefits such as no framerate locks, actual graphics options

Because that's an option. Even if they make the consoles version less graphically intensive, this isn't something that has to carry to the PC. If they give you the option to tone down the graphics on your PCs to low quality, such as lower-res textures, they can just put the lower-res textures on the consoles. They can reduce the despawn limits and render distances, they can reduce the number of spawning NPCs in an area, they can reduce the particles-- they can lower what the console ports have to render without touching a single line of code, if the consoles are really holding them back. And again, they don't even have to go out of their way to do these things, because they often make these options for the PC ports.

Ignoring the fact that, again, they don't even have to make a console option, they could make the PC port as powerful as they want... for the most part. The "most part" will be addressed next.

__

> Why is that relevant at all?

Because of something you said.

> On PC you can choose how powerful your rig is

If you can afford it. Want to really know what can hold devs back? Making sure their game can run on low-end PCs.

> Did you know that according to the Steam Hardware & Software Survey (July 2017) , the percentage of Steam gamers who use a GPU that's less powerful than that of a PS4 Slim’s GPU is well over 50%? Things get dismal when compared to the PS4 Pro (Or Xbox One X). On top of that, the percentage of PC gamers who own a Nvidia 10 series card is about 20% (about 15% for the 1060, 1080 and 1070 owners).

Low-end PCs are more numerous then even mid-tier gaming PCs. Devs have to keep that in mind, lest they reduce the number of people who can buy their game. Even if you want to talk about "low spec consoles," don't forget about devs having to keep in mind low end PCs.

By the way, the point was also that you can choose a more powerful console, just like you can choose a more powerful PC.

You could try an external device like this one . It's what I use, and it seems to help. Inexpensive, and really cool looking as well.

Edit: I just realised you said you run the ps4 pro. I'm not sure if the stand I reccomended will work with the pro. But you could try finding something like it. I can't reccomend anything else because I have a standard ps4.

I dont have an all in one, but I can highly recommend the following two products.

https://www.amazon.com/Vertical-Controller-Charging-Playstation-DualShock-4/dp/B01NBNF6EH/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1510731515&sr=8-17&keywords=ps4+pro+cooling+stand

Despite what some say, this cooling fan makes all the difference.
I have my ps4 inside an entertainment system where it gets little airflow.
this guy is a lifesaver. I have read reviews that said the airflow blows in the wrong direction...this is not true...not on mine anyway. The only issue I have with this stand is that the controllers are charged upside down, meaning you have to be somewhat careful placing them in the cradle perfectly straight, otherwise the male plug would eventually tear up the female plug. Definitely not for use with careless people, or children, but for me its great. Looks much more elegant then all the other options. The fans work excellent, but are quieter then the disk drive.

The move controller charging stand is kept in another room, without the VR stand attached and it looks great this way, but can easily be tucked away somewhere. This charger works absolutely flawless. I know its a steep price, but totally worth it.

I'm not very great at desing things but I might give it a go. I have a couple extra small fans I could use. Something like this would be cool. It's definitely pretty cheap to buy but it would be cool to use extra parts I have at home.
