Your reciprocating saw will work... have a good blade (or 2,3) as often hard on blades.

Yeah. I had pretty good success getting that ice with a standard square shovel rather than a snow shovel, but still a pain. And a digging bar would certainly work. Overkill for just our occasional ice storms, but super handy if you ever need to dig post holes or uproot small trees or such.
