Charge problem is likely the charging system with a loose wire. The charging system is usually on the right side of the engine. Look on youtube for videos on how to diagnose.

As far as the kickstarter, Things break. If it is under warranty still, call the place it was purchased from and ask for help. They should be able to help even without a warranty. A kickstart assembly is about $23 on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Spring-139QMB-Starter-Chinese-Scooter/dp/B00H8AMIJG

Pick the lock to get into the luggage area to access that lock core.

Removing the baffles will make your bike run lean. They generally run lean from the factory, so it could be an issue.

You can fix this with a fuel injection module like a power commander. Might be a newer version of the power commander available, but this is one that popped up.

Your pulse generator.

The Ricky Stator is a good unit, but you may want to consider upgrading the regulator/rectifier and AC regulator for the increased current now going into the wiring from the new stator.

I've also used this CDI on my '84, it should be plug and play with your '87. I had to splice the modern style connector on mine.

But yeah, the pulse generator was the last thing on the electrical side that I swapped out, and it was the thing that made it start more reliably.

Take out your rear O2 sensor, put this in the bung and put the O2 sensor in the end of it. Adjust the collar as needed. No more P0420 and no flashing required.
