Check it out... Went on Amazon and totally one-upped your stuff

The suit

The Gloves

The Mask

The hood (extra neck protection)

The centerpiece...

You can be Ebola-free for the low, low price of $70!

I like the Magpul Core Cover hats. Very light weight and breathable, and they have a lower crown that I like (not high like trucker/hipster style).

Obviously style/logo is subjective, but the type of material is great.

Okay, Read the article that /u/DevastatorIIC posted and it suggests several options for facial hair people. I suggest reading the entire article but for a quick reference this is what they suggest:

An AVON NH15 CBRN EMERGENCY ESCAPE HOOD

and Emergency Escape CBRN Hood,

The way these work per the article is instead of sealing around the face, its a full hood that seals around the neck instead. So as long as your facial hair isn't so big that it prevents you form wearing the hood they should work.

such as these: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C17OEW/. I just bought a pair for my Raleigh with the same levers.

Gorgeous bike... mine's from the same era.

I recently picked up a pair of non-aero hoods, and they made a huge difference in terms of comfort when my hands are up there.

These will fit them just fine

Although I'd suggest getting better brake handles. I got some Shimano 600 drilled off eBay for $15 in pristine condition, but that was blind luck because other auctions had them selling for $50+, Now I see them for $130.

There are also retro looking modern handles that are supposed to work really really well and aren't terribly expensive . It's a worthwhile upgrade.

Remember to get the non-aero type (where the cable exists the lever from the top), since that's what fits your levers.

I use one of these

https://www.amazon.com/National-Safety-Apparel-H11RY-UltraSoft/dp/B00PG3W2GG

I got it more for the sparks from overhead welds getting on my ears/neck, but now I just wear it all the time. Very light weight and breathes well.

This one has exhale valve a little lower and the thick brow is detachable

Right, so here's why I think it can (easily) be under $50.

Rigid headband (cheapest)

"But they show something padded and custom and black!"

Right, so look at this. Lots more plastic bits, including ratchets for the mask, and it costs drumroll $3 more. The second headstrap is also far more complex to assemble. This specific iteration of welding head mount probably moves fewer units than the Vive will, so the costs are the same. At most, the extra 'fluff' on the vive headstrap is worth, to manufacture and assemble, under $20. The headphones could add a good bit of change, but the head strap itself simply will not cost HTC more than $20 to manufacture and ship to the US. It just won't {again, not including cost of headphones because we know literally nothing about them}. The cost of this headstrap is purely down to how much profit HTC wants, and how much they have to give Valve and whomever else in royalties.

tl;dr: I'm not saying because one head strap retails for $15 or $20 then HTC only costs X to manufacture. I'm arguing that because there is a $3 price difference for a far more complicated headstrap, the true manufacturing cost difference is likely in the $1-3 range. I have no idea how much either strap costs to make, but I know one probably costs $3 more, at most, than the other, to manufacture.
